They decided to tear down the school and rebuilt a new one as for classes they took a week off and they rented out several portable classrooms, a week after the shooting the school held a candle light vigil for the students and teachers.
Back in the hospital Eric was recovering and thinking about going back to Minnesota with his parents so they could help him, he didn't know if he would go back to teaching but that was something he enjoyed doing.
They found out who the two shooters were, Lux had a check up at the hospital once she was done with that she went to check up on Eric, he was surprised to see her standing in the door way " how are you doing?" he shrugged his shoulder " I'm thinking of going back to Minnesota," Lux walked over and hugged him " well it was great knowing you." with that she walked out of his room.
A month later Eric was released from the hospital and Cate and Baze were throwing him a good bye party,everyone was sitting out side "when Ryan spoke up "so Eric what are you planning on doing when you get back to Minnesota?" Eric looked at everyone " well I think I might go back to teaching.
Everyone smiled and they started talking about other things several times Eric and Lux made eye contact and they both smiled at each other, the next day Eric and his parents were flying back to Minnesota.
School ended for the summer and the new West Monte was half way done so when school started back in September it would be finished,Lux hadn't heard from Tasha or Jones since that day of the shooting.
Eric was living with his parents and going to physical therapy he would keep in contact with Math, he met a young women and they began dating.
Summer ended and everyone was getting ready for the new school year at the new school, Cate and Lux went school shopping they were walking around the mall when they ran into Tasha and Jones, apparently after the shooting they both started hanging out with the wrong crowed and then they started doing drugs.
When Lux walked into school that Monday morning she saw a plaque on the wall with the 34 people who died that day along with the date and a quote
"We talk about them because we're proud. We talk about them,because they deserve to be remembered. We talk about them, because even though they are not physically with us, they are never far from our mind. We talk about them, because they are part of us, a part that we could never ignore or disown. We talk about them because we love them still and always will. Forever. Nothing will ever change that._unknown"
Lux had walked away from the wall and went to her first class thinking about that day then again she always thought about that day so did Eric.
