Chapter 26

Last chapter Raven had an…awkward moment with Uriah after talking about how much of a nice guy he is *gag* usually I wouldn't type crap about this, seeing as I don't understand how women, would be so vulnerable as to kiss or sleep with a guy they just met for the simple fact that they're nice to them. It screams disparate and frankly it makes us women look pathetic. If you're reading this and are currently wondering 'Why is Jem talking like this?' please note that I have stayed up till…..3 A.M.! Watching nothing but Foamy The Squirrel videos. It has put me in a state of mind that makes me what to type my long ass A/N like this. But I won't waste anymore of your time, ONWARD TO THE BATTLE FIELD!

Back in Happy Harbor Zatanna sat in the living room of her apartment. She had been living there for some time with her boyfriend , Dick Grasyon—aka Nightwing—for two or more years. She was a little worried, she hadn't heard anything from or about Raven in some time. She was worried that Klarion had done something, or that they were laying in wait for something big to go down. It was nerve wracking, to wonder what Raven might be up to. Wondering if she'd be caught by the Justice League and thrown into Belle Reve—or at this rate Arkham Asylum.

"If only I had some way to contact her." She mumbled, "Maybe I could get her to tell me who that Uriah person is, and what Klarion is doing to her. I could help her."

"Maybe some distance will do her some good." Dick said walking in with a steaming hop cup of some kind of coffee or tea, "You said she showed up out of the blue once, if she's really in trouble with the witch-boy she'll turn up."

"I wish it was that simple." She mumbled taking the hot cup from Dick. "I just hope she doesn't end up getting hurt."

"I did it!" Raven shouted holding up a blackened jewel in her hands, "I finally finished my Glamour charm! I can finally leave here."

"Well it is about time Raven dear. I was beginning to think we'd never leave this hell that boy Uriah call home." Cherie purred, looking up at his master from the bed. Raven pursed her lips and looked at the white and black cat.

"You're so negative Cherie. Uriah's a good guy, I mean he didn't have to let us stay here. He could have kicked us out on the streets of gotham. But no, that didn't happen!"

"Haven't you been at all curious as to why that is?" Cherie mewed. Raven crossed her arms.

"Hm, I dunno maybe he's just that nice a guy?" She asked, "Why do you have to be so suspicious of everyone."

"I am your familiar Raven, it is part of my job to look after you. Make sure you don't do anything foolish." He mewed, "Besides, you said yourself, most males of your species have ulterior motives."

"Well thank god, Uriah's not my species. He's a….well he's not human." Raven said, forgetting what it was that Uriah had called himself before. She then walked toward the door, "Either way I have my charm. Let's go tell Uriah."

Cherie stretched, only to turn his back toward his master and lie back down. "I am good here. The less I have to see that blue faced brat, the better."

"hmph. Fine stay, I'll come back and get you once I tell him." Raven said and left the room. It took her a while to find the Croatoan boy, but eventually she found him. He was sitting in a room she believed was the study, reading through some old book. He seemed to be so engrossed by the tome he hadn't noticed Raven walk up to the door. So, instead of creeping on him, Raven decided to knock. This made the boy snap from his intimate concentration and turn his attention toward the door, where Raven now stood.

"Raven, I apologize I didn't hear you walk up." He said rubbing his black ringed eyes. Raven smirked at him as she walked up to him.

"That's cool, guess what I finally managed to do," She said dangling the blackened stone in front of the blue skinned boy's face. Uriah's eyebrows rose, almost as if surprised to see the magical charm.

"I see you finally finished your charm. Marvelous." He said. "So does that mean you will be leaving now?"

"Uhm well that's the idea." Raven said pocketing the charm. She then began to silently fiddle with her fingers. Uriah's brow cocked.

"Is something the matter Raven?" He asked. Raven shook her head.

"Oh, no. I just wanted to thank you again." She mumbled, "for letting me stay here until I finished this thing. Sorry it took so long, I'm not as magically inclined as I originally thought."

Raven gave a nervous laugh. Then a silence settled between the two, it was a bit awkward and unnerving. Finally sick of the silence Raven turned on her heel.

"Well…I'm going to grab Cherie, and we'll be out of your hair." She said, then went to walk off, only to find herself gripped by the arm and pulled in close to Uriah. Before she was able to think of what was happening she felt the soft touch of Uriah's lips upon hers. It surprised her. The sudden kiss lasted for a few brief moments before Uriah's chin rested upon her shoulder and she was still caught in his embrace. A slight sigh left his body as he held tight to Raven.

"Having you here these passing weeks has been most…magical…" He said, Raven's cheeks suddenly flushed bright red. "Won't you stay one more night with me?"

Raven's heart pounded in her chest. This sudden act from a man who only a day ago, had such a strong will, was surprising. Was it the fact that she was leaving that stirred his so? A sudden panic ran through Raven's body. What if Klarion found out about this? He'd tear them both apart. She suddenly pushed away from Uriah and looked away, as she bit her finger nails nervously.

"This is wrong…I-if Klarion were to find out—and right after I broke up with him…" She said in a mini panic. Uriah placed his hand under Raven's chin and forced her to look up at him. He gave her a reassuring smile.

"Shhh, do not worry Raven. I have told you, this is a safe place. The Lord of Chaos will never discover what goes on inside these walls." He said in a soft voice. Raven stared at him with her deep sapphire eyes. His voice was soothing and soft, it made her pale tanned face bright with red coloring. Before she was aware of her own actions, she threw her arms around the witch-boy's neck and showered him with kisses. For some strange reason, she felt so safe in his arms which wrapped strongly around her waist. He in turn kissed her back, his hands moving up and down her back. After a few moments of kissing Uriah pulled away and looked at Raven's sapphire eyes with his own coal black ones.

"Do you trust me?" He asked softly, never taking his eyes off of her. Raven nodded and the two soon found themselves in a bedroom. There she found Uriah perched on top of her, placing kisses on her lips, chin, and neck. Raven let out a light moan as his hands glided against her hips. His touch was so gentle as he caressed her legs. It didn't take long for Uriah to remove her clothing, leaving Raven completely exposed to him. A small smirk crossed his lips as Raven began to undo his button up shirt, exposing his pale blue chest. Her hands began to explore his slightly toned chest. He wasn't very muscular, but it was enough for Raven to explore. Her arms moved from Uriah's chest to his neck kissing him again. Soon the duo was nothing but a tangle of limbs, the two becoming one in that one magical night of passion.

When it was over, Raven laid fast asleep next to Uriah. Her hand rest on his chest and her head rested on his shoulder. Uriah on the other hand was awake, a sly smirk gracing his face as he looked at the blue haired girl. She was his now and he could finally set his plan into motion. He stood, careful not to wake the slumbering human witch, he then retrieved his trousers and shirt. He looked back at Raven who was soundly sleeping away and curled up much like a cat. Too much like a cat for Uriah's liking. He shriveled his nose up in disgust, he didn't like cats. At all. In fact the last time he ever came in contact with a feline he had just acquired a cruciform and was well on his way to creating a judgment beast. He rolled his eyes in memory of that moment in time and walked out the door, leaving Raven alone in the darkness of his bedroom.

Ok that last scene, I'll admit, I had NO IDEA what I was doing. I'm not so good at typing up 'love scenes' and I was just doing it by ear. Reading over some old novels on the internet. It was hard and I was only able to do that little bit. Sorry, ugh! Anyhow, see you later armadillos—unless I see you first! HAHA! REVIEW!
