Chapter 33
Hey gang! I just read your reviews! Oh they just made my day! I'd almost given up on my stories cause no one was reviewing. . I know it's a bit pouty to quit when no one's reading but still, I'm so happy you guys reviewed! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I love you guys so much! Now without fur delay, ONWARD TO THE BATTLE FIELD!
It had been less than a week, since Klarion and the heroes attempted to rescue Raven from Uriah. Since then she had gone missing, neither the heroes, or Klarion could find any trace of her, whether she was hiding her aura, or had gone off world was beyond them. Even Rachel—who was able to sense the girl's presence for some time—had no idea where she could have gone. After the first week had to go back to their duties in Jump City, and the Team had to go back to focusing on their own troubles and issues. Though no matter how busy they were Zatanna was still worried about her old friend. She wondered where she was, and if she was ok.
Meanwhile deep in Gotham's underground world, a familiar pale tanned goth girl walked down the alley way. Raven's face had a permanent crimson glare as she walked with her familiar nervously walking in her footsteps. As she stepped through the dark and dank allies of Gotham, her dark aura caused odd phenomena to occur; windows would break as she passed, animals would turn tail and run—including other cats which were normally drawn to her—and streetlights would burst. She walked silently, the red dress that Uriah had dressed her in had tattered to a knee length dress.
On occasion Cherie Curie would look up to his slightly disturbed master. He didn't dare speak to her. She was an emotional wreck. Depression, anger, hurt, betrayal and hatred, all consumed his young master. He was starting to worry, she hadn't spoken in days, and he had no idea what was on her mind. It was closed off to him. Finally Raven stopped at the door of a seemingly abandoned building. Without touching it, the door flew open reveal a group of four men playing poker on a rickety old card table. Upon hearing the door burst open, the men turned to Raven and glared.
"The hell?" One of the men growled, "Who the fuck are you?"
Raven said nothing, her eyes scanning the group of men as they glared at her. From what she could see, she had stumbled onto a gang hide away. She completely ignored the four gangsters until one of them stood directly in front of her, glaring and not too happy that she was there.
"You lost little girl?" He asked in a threatening tone. Raven gave a look of disgust as she shifted her gaze around the group. She remained silent and continued to glare at them, until the same man that stood before her looked into her crimson eyes.
"Shit this girl's a meta!" He shouted and stumbled backwards into another member of the small group. Raven tilted her head to the side and narrowed her eyes as all four men pulled out guns and aimed it at them.
"Do you really think those things will hurt me?" She asked in a low, demonic tone of voice. Without hesitation she threw her hands up, just as all four men were about to pull their triggers. They all stopped, frozen by the spell Raven had cast over their bodies. She gave a crimson glare, "Silly men…."
At the sound of her voice the four men's bodies were turned against them. Raven now had control over their minds, like human puppets that she could control with ease. And while the idea of control these gangsters would have been fun for Raven in the past, she now held a grudge, not just against, Uriah, nor Klarion, but all men. The events that took place with Uriah and Klarion, the simple fact that every male in her life had either used, abused, or tried to kill her, all had put an emotional and mental toll on Raven's mind. Every man she had ever trusted, cared for, loved; they had all used her! So today she wasn't feeling merciful. She gave an evil grin as she forced the men to turn their weapons on themselves. They stared at her with sheer terror as she let out a small chuckle.
"Bang…" She whispered, and with that one word, all four gangsters were dead at her feet. Raven let out another laugh. Small at first, a slight giggling fit that changed into a chuckle and soon blossomed into a hysterical laugh. She threw her head back as her insane laughter echoed through the abandoned building. She cut herself off and glared at the bodies of the dead. Huffing as she stepped over them and walked to the other side of the room and leaned against the wall. She then slid down until she was sitting on the ground, Cherie Curie was next to her and nuzzled her hand in an attempt to get her to talk to him.
"Men...I used to think they could be so strong…" She grumbled, staring absentmindedly at her work. She had been more humane that she really wanted to. She wanted to rip them to shreds, do to them what every man did to her in the past. "Now I know…They're all….weak."
"Raven Deary, did you….have to kill them?" He asked, Raven grunted and pulled her knees to her chest.
"They deserved it!" She shouted, "They ALL deserve it! They would have used me if I let them! Like Uriah! Like Rick! Like…."
She hesitated as a small sob escaped her, "Like him…Like Klarion did!"
Cherie looked up at his poor Raven, his beloved master and companion. She was damaged, and needed help. Help that he himself couldn't give her. She needed a human friend. Zatanna. Even if Raven didn't like her as much anymore, she still had a feeling of trust for the magician woman. Cherie knew that, even though his damaged Raven had refused to believe it herself. He knew. However, he had no way of finding her again. He wasn't even sure where he and his master were. He had never been to this part of Gotham. Cherie looked up at Raven as she began to cry, it had been the first time since what happened with Uriah that he had seen her give any sort of emotion. He mewed and curled up next to his master, in an effort to comfort her. To let her know that, no matter what, he was there for her. No matter how damaged she seemed to be.
Weeks had past, and rumors spread about a cursed building. Any man that dared ventured in, never made it out again. It emitted a horrifying aura of death, so strong that even children didn't dare go into. Even stupid kids—who would normally dare each other to enter 'haunted' buildings—knew better than to even think about entering. Not that it ever stopped some of the more foolish, or drunken adult men from entering. However like the gangsters before them they all met a gruesome and horrible end.
Not far from the area in which said cursed building resided, two female villains were on the run from the batman. Driving in a rose colored convertible, with a bag of stolen gemstones and plants, the two females did a fine job of keeping the dark knight and his boy sidekick from catching them. That is, until they suddenly had a blow out, and the car came to a crashing stop. Ivy and Harley looked to each other with panic as Batman and Robin was closing the gap between them.
"Grab what you can Harl, we're running for it." Ivy shouted, grabbing a potted plant and escaping the car. Harley let out a nervous mumble and grabbed what she could and also bailed. The two villainesses ran until they came across the abandoned building, Ivy pointed toward it and the two ran inside and ducked into the shadows. When they were sure the coast was clear, they let out a sigh.
"That was close, way to get the bat called on us!" Ivy shouted, Harley shrugged.
"It's not like I meant to get us caught," She said, then sniffed, "Do you smell that? Eww."
"Don't change the subject Harley, you nearly got us—wait," Ivy cut herself short and sniffed, the air smelled of something rotting. It was sickening. She stood, setting her plant down and walked toward the other side of the building. Harley soon followed. The two women walked, trying to find the root of the smell—though not entirely sure why—soon they came upon a door that seemed to be where the smell was coming from. Ivy reached for the door knob but was stopped by Harley.
"Wait, what if it's some kind of monster!?" She asked, hiding behind Ivy, who rolled her eyes.
"Grow up Harl." He spat, smacking away the jester clad woman's hand and opened the door. Sure enough, the room was the root of the horrid smell. The two peered in, and gasped. Bodies lied in piled, some beyond decomposing and others seemed to be only a day old. All men, strewn in bloody pieces all over the room. In the corner, completely clean of blood and rot sat a young girl with dark blue hair in a tattered red dress, she sat with her head buried in her arms which rested upon her knees. Ivy and Harley looked to each other in confusion.
"Uhm, excuse me, kid…?" Ivy offered.
Raven's head shot up in surprise and she glared at the duo. She stood with her hands to her sides, black electricity sparking between her fingers. Her crimson eyes looked them over, debating whether they were friend or foe.
"What do you want?" She hissed. Harley let out a yelp of fear and hid behind Ivy, who looked at all the death around them.
"What happened here?" She asked, taking a step closer to the young woman. Raven backed away and held up her hands in defense, "It's ok, you're safe now. Just tell us what happened."
"What does it look like!?" Raven shouted through gritting teeth, her hands sparked with electricity, informing both Ivy and Harley, that she wasn't a normal human girl. Raven grinned, "They all died!"
"D-did…you do this?" Harley asked, Raven's smile turned to a frown.
"And what if I did?" She hissed, "They all deserved it! They deserved to die!"
"All of them?"
"Did I fucking stutter!?" Raven shouted, balling her fists up, "All of them! Men are weak, they hide behind women, use them, treat them like dirt! They all deserve to die!"
Harley looked to Ivy and whispered, "This girl is nuts-o. Let's get outta here before she decided to kill the both of us."
Ivy ignored the clown girl and stepped toward Raven. "You're Raven Blu, aren't you? I recognize you from the Injustice league. You've changed since last time, do you remember who I am?"
"Don't know…don't care." She growled, then turned her back to the two, "Leave."
"What happened to you?" Ivy asked, her voice hinted concern. Raven's body shook with anger, as she turned back to them, a wave of energy blasting Ivy and Harley back against the wall.
"They happened to me!" She shouted, pointing to the dead men surrounding them, "They all tried to use me! tried to gain my trust, so I would blindly follow them! Men are monsters! And they all died, because I killed them! I killed them all!"
"Raven," Ivy began, holding her hands out and took a cautious step toward her.
"Are you crazy!? She'll kill us!" Harley said in a hushed shout as she grabbed Ivy's arm. Raven narrowed her eyes, and turned.
"I have no quarrel with women…" She growled. Ivy held her breath, to keep calm, and to keep the smell of death from her nose. She didn't care much for men either, she agreed that they were all weak, and foolish. She had been used by men in her past, so she understood Raven's distrust for them. she held her hands out for the young woman.
"Raven, why don't you come with us." She offered, "We're not like those men, we won't hurt you. We'll help you, take care of you. We won't let anymore men hurt you ever again."
Raven stood frozen for a moment. She contemplated going, looking to Cherie for assurance. Cherie looked to Ivy and Harley, they were villains. They stole, and hurt people, and ran from the Batman. However, regardless of how evil they seemed to be, they sure beat sitting in their current hell hole, filled with death and rot. He mewed to Raven, telling her he agreed. Within their time of contemplation Ivy managed to fill the gap between her and Raven. She placed her arms around her, taking Raven by surprise. However, she didn't fight back. She collapsed into the plan woman's embrace, and began to sob.
"Harl, let's make room," Ivy said, stroking Raven's hair gently, "We've got a new member to bring home."
And that is the end to chapter 33. Raven meets Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn. I know that may make her seem a bit, Mary sue-ish, and if it does feel free to point it out. However I love ivy and I love Harley Quinn. And I think with Raven's new hatred for the male populous she would get along well with Ivy—who also hates men or well humans in general, except for Harley—and I think she would do well as a motherly figure to Raven during this time. Uh yeah anyway hopefully I won't take as long for the next chapter. But who knows. And for those of you wondering where Klarion is, well you'll see in later chapter(s) 'see you later armadillos—unless I see you first. Haha!' REVIEW! Reviewers will get a virtual kiss from Klarion…or since Klarion probably isn't well liked at this moment, a kiss from Human Cherie!
