"I'm going to be a dad!" Ash exclaims excitedly.
"I know." Tia whispers with joyous tears running down her face.
They hold each other for a long while.
"She is going to be beautiful just like her mother." Ash tells her.
They kiss.
The nurse walks in with a portable incubator carefully placing the egg inside.
"You will need this until she hatches." The nurse informs returning the egg to them.
Ash accepts the egg gazing at it in awe.
"It can take several weeks to hatch and keeping it warm will help. Good luck!" the nurse exclaims exiting the room leaving them alone.
They make their way back to the house as quickly as possible.
When they arrive they find the garden empty. Upon entering the house they find only Lorenzo."
"Hey Pops!" Tia greets as they enter the living room.
"There you two are! We were worried sick. We thought something bad had happened. I'll call the others letting them know you've returned."
Lorenzo quickly calls Bianca.
"While you were gone Bianca made dinner and Clemont finished the automated defence system he designed. Latias you are finally free of your duties, as is Tio."
"You should eat before the others get back."
"Good idea." Ash and Tia agree.
"We'll wait for everyone when we're done eating, we have a surprise." Tia tells Lorenzo.
Ash and Tia eat quickly before going to her room. They gather pillows and a blanket creating a makeshift nest. Then Tia unzips Ash's backpack and places the egg incubator in the nest. They turn up the heat in the room and close the door heading back downstairs.
With in minutes of coming downstairs everyone else returns home.
"Ash, Latias you're okay!"
"Yes, sorry Bianca." Tia tells her sister, hugging her.
"Don't ever do that again Ash!" Latios raises his voice coming at Ash.
"Lay off Tio! I was the reason we were gone without telling you..."
Latios lets go of Ash.
"...Anyways we have a surprise for all of you." Tia says with glee.
"What's the surprise?" Clemont inquires.
"Well Bianca and Tio... you're going to have a niece in a few weeks." Ash tells them.
"What?!" They exclaim.
"If everyone wants to come up, our baby girl is in our room in an incubator." Latias leads them upstairs.
Everyone is amazed at the egg when they see it.
"Congrats you guys." Brock says hugging them both.
"Thanks Brock."
"So were you guys trying?" Ninetales asks.
"Well yes and no. We wanted to start a family we just didn't expect it to happen this fast." Tia explains.
"Ya it caught us by surprise. We didn't even know she was carrying and egg. All we knew is that she was having pain in her abdomen and was bloated." Ash admits.
"It's a new generation of guardians." Tio says smiling slowly.
"Now it's up to you and Bianca to give us the next generation of the guardians caretakers." Ash says patting Tio on the shoulder.
Bianca and Latios turn a deep shade of crimson hearing this.
The others laugh seeing their blush.
"I'm going to be a great grandfather it will be like being a grandfather all over again." Lorenzo chuckles.
"By the way the Tour de Alto Mare is tomorrow. You'll want to be up early if you plan on entering." He tells them as he walks back downstairs.
"In that case I'm going to bed." Ash decides.
"Brock, Ninetales, Ash and I will take my room. Tio and Bianca take her room. Dawn and Clemont you can share the guest room." Latias instructs.
Everyone gets situated and drifts off to sleep to be well rested for the Tour.
They wake early and go to the PC to get their water Pokemon for the race.
"For old times sake I'm going to give Feraligatr another chance. I think he'll be happy for another try after all these years." Ash declares walking up to the PC.
"I think I'll use Piplup." Dawn tells him.
Then Ash has an idea.
"Hey Bianca why don't you enter too? I know you're not a Trainer but you could always become one..." Ash suggests.
"Maybe but I don't have any Pokemon." Bianca tells him.
Ash laughs.
"That's no problem! You can use my Greninja. He was really wanting to race anyways and this would give you both a chance."
"Okay I guess I'll give it a whirl." Bianca agrees.
"Pika-pika-pi(I'll go with the others and cheer for you)." Pikachu tells his buddy.
Ash nods.
"Bun!" Buneary agrees.
Ash laughs and hi fives Dawn as they watch Pikachu and Buneary leave.
"Good Luck Ash. I'm going to find a seat with Clemont and my mate."
"Thanks Brock."
Latias takes Ash's hand and leads him, Dawn and her sister to the entry booth.
"Hi welcome to the 20th annual Tour de Alto Mare, please provide your trainer card and the Pokemon you will be using for registry." The lady instructs.
"Hi, I'm Ash and I will be using my friend Feraligatr." He says handing her his card and pokeball.
"Thanks Ash and good luck."
"Oh hello Bianca I see this is your first time competing. Don't worry I've known your grandfather for years no need for a trainer card. Good luck to you and Greninja." She says handing back the Pokeball.
"And you too, Dawn and Piplup."
"Ash! Bianca! Me and Tio will see you at the finish!" Latias calls as she and her brother disappear into the crowd.
After climbing onto his chariot Ash looks around at the other competitors.
"Wow he has a golden Magikarp!" Ash exclaims seeing Ian's Magikarp.
"I would love to paint him!" Bianca says seeing it.
"Welcome folks to the 20th annual Tour de Alto Mare!"
The crowd lining the canal roars.
"The race will begin in just a few moments. Competitors please take your places. The Xatu will signal the start of the race."
The mic switches to the announcers and the countdown begins.
"Na, Na, Na, Na, Xatu!"
"And they're off! Margret takes the early lead with her Vaporeon."
"Well Dan she is the favourite to win this year. We will have to wait and see if she can take the win."
"She has won several times over the years so it wouldn't be a surprise."
"Five times I believe. I'm sure she would love for this to be her year to be her sixth."
"Her Vaporeon is quick but a bit lower stamina than some of the other racers. If Margret can maintain this speed I don't doubt she'll win this."
"I agree. We'll see if she can keep this pace through the next segment which is all about manoeuvrability. If not someone else may win this race."
"Ian is gradually gaining on Margret and wow Ian's golden Magikarp is a prize in and of itself Mark."
"And what a prize it is Dan."
"Ian further gaining on Margret and trying to overtake. Ash, Dawn and Bianca are not too far in tail. Ross now making his way through the other racers. He seemed to be having problems with that new Mantine."
"Ross is currently in seventh but gaining quickly. They are now entering that windy part of the course I mentioned earlier."
The racers enter the first of a series of turns. Ian sees Margret beside him and tries to overtake as they both come out of the first turn. Ian accidentally bumps into Margret enter the next turn.
"OH NO! Margret has lost her balance!"
Margret gets yanked to the side due to her positioning and falls into the water.
"She's in the water! This years favourite now at the bottom of the barrel or in this case the canal. A shocking end to this years favourite."
"With Margret out Ian takes the lead with his golden Magikarp."
They finally come out of the windy part of the Tour with Ian still leading. Bianca and the others not far in chase.
"Well arguably the hardest part of this course is over. Far fewer turns for the third part of this Tour. This is where power houses like Mantine and Feraligatr will start to shine."
"The newcomer Bianca is in second, just ahead of Ash and Dawn who are neck and neck"
"Ross is speeding up fast. Ross a hometown hero much like Margret. He actually won last years Tour de Alto Mare. But has surprisingly selected a new Pokemon for this years event. He may have troubles winning... even though he looks too."
"If anyone knows these canals though it's Ross he travels them everyday as a gondolier."
"The fans here really want a hometown win but no one has won consecutively. Ross looks to do that this year but as you said he's using a new Pokemon and has shown problems at the start of the race. We'll have to wait and see."
Ross signals his Mantine and it dives gaining speed and passing everyone on a straighter part of the third segment.
"Dawn has now passed Ash and then Bianca to take the lead!"
"Look at Ross! Just completely left everyone in the dust now taking the lead! Only a couple corners left in this third segment then on to the final segment which is a very wide canal with a long straightaway that extends to the finish line."
"Ross has lost lots of speed going through this corner."
Dawn now plans a takeover on the corner. Mantine has to take wide flowing turns being a wider Pokemon. So she thinks she can cut through the turns on a fast tight line to have the lead for the last part and hopefully win.
"Dawn makes the take over. However Ross catches up during the second turn."
"On the last turn we see Dawn speed up to enter it with less angle keeping the line quite straight. Ross trying to retake the lead tries to slip by on the inside."
"Ross REALLY bumped Dawn!"
"Dawn is the one off balance this time her chariot bounces off the corner and straight back into Ross!"
"WHAT?! They crashed! What a mess of Chariots and Pokemon."
Ian doesn't have enough time or space to avoid the crash in front of him.
"IAN HAS STRUCK THE WRECKAGE!" Dan announces.
"What a horrible turn of events. I hope they are all okay..."
"Worry not folks at home the medics are already on their way to help the trainers and Pokemon."
"Unfortunately all but one hometown hero has been eliminated."
"BOOO!" Some of the crowd members groan.
"Bianca is the only hope for a hometown win."
"Anyways the race is slowly continuing. Ash and Bianca were both able to pass by the accident to continue into the straightaway with Bianca far in the lead having easily traversed the crash the fastest."
Ash quickly increases speed to catch her encouraging his Feraligatr to give it everything for the finish.
"It has been a major upset with all but one of the local entries eliminated from the race. With many others crashing as well this has been a rough Tour."
"Few Tours have had a high number of accidents like they had this year Mark."
"Bianca is now in the lead by a decent amount. With only 175 yards to the finish."
"But what is this?! Ash gaining on her fast! That Feraligatr is fast as most are but this is the fastest one I've ever seen."
"Bianca is just under 100 yards from the line with Ash now in tail only 15 yards behind her!"
"40 yards with Ash closing the gap."
"30 yards. Ash is 3 yards behind."
"20 yards. Ash, 1 yard behind."
"10 yards they are side by side, neck and neck. Both rocketing towards the finish. Who takes it?! It's all over!"
"That was incredible and so close we will have to get the high speed footage analyzed to determine the victor. We'll have to take a break until the winner is ascertained."
"What a great show and effort by those two Ash the Veteran and Bianca the newcomer. They both gave it their all and should be proud regardless of the outcome. We'll switch over to the event host for when he announces the result."
"I am Alonzo the host for this years Tour. Three of our footage experts will decide the winner."
Alonzo gets the results in a sealed envelope handed to him. He opens the envelope to read it. He stands back up grabbing the mic.
"The footage has been analyzed extensively and the three judges have a reached unanimous decision!"
"The winner for the first time in 20 years is... Actually a draw! Congratulations!"
He sends the mic back to Dan and Mark.
"Unbelievable for the first time in 20 years we have a tie. A unanimous decision. What a wild finish for this years event."
"A fitting end for the 20th anniversary."
"I'm not sure how this is going to work? They might have to cut the medal in half like they do in contests? We'll have to wait and see. Thanks everyone for attending, watching and/or participating in the 20th Tour de Alto Mare. Also a big thanks to all our sponsors. This is Mark."
"And Dan! We hope to see you all back here next year. Now we switch the mic back to our host for the award ceremony."
"Great job Bianca I knew you could do it!" Ash congratulates.
"Ash. Bianca. Great work to you both! Now we had to divide the medal in half since there's a tie. So... who wants which half?" Alonzo asks.
"I would like the Latios half." Bianca speaks shyly
"Is that fine with you Ash?"
Ash laughs.
"Definitely I was just about to say I wanted the Latias half."
"Thanks Alonzo!" They say before stepping onto the podium.
"Ladies and gentlemen, your winners of the 20th anniversary of the Tour de Alto Mare!"
The crowd cheers and Brock and the others whistle.
"Ash! Bianca!" Latias shouts as she comes running.
She hugs them both.
*snap* *snap*
Someone in the crowd takes a few pictures of Latias hugging Ash.
"I will have her." He mutters under his breath before leaving.
"Congrats guys!" Tio says catching up to them.
Several reporters swarm them as they step off the stage.
"So Ash how do you feel about finally winning the Tour?"
"I'm just happy that I helped my friend Feraligatr achieve his dream after all these years. I have years and years of experience, while Bianca has none yet she was able to match me. I am not the winner, Bianca is the real winner of this race and I believe she has a bright future as a trainer if she so chooses." Ash says smiling sheepishly.
"Gat-r!" Feraligatr agrees happily.
"Wow great words from such an accomplished trainer." Another reporter states.
"How do you feel Bianca?" A third asks.
"Well I just did my best. That's all you can ever do, win or lose. As long as you give 100% you can be proud of yourself no matter the outcome."
"Well congratulation to you both!" He commends.
"Okay that's a wrap!" Say the supervisors stepping in allowing Ash and Bianca to leave.
As Ross is on his way back home sees the group.
"Hey!"
"Oh hey Ross." They say seeing him.
"I'm on my way home which is roughly the same direction as you guys. Hop on I'll give you a lift home on my gondola." He explains.
Everyone agrees and climbs on.
"Congrats Ash and Bianca!" He says as they push off.
"Well thanks! Sorry you didn't win."
"Oh I feel so awful for crashing into you." Dawn groans covering her face in embarrassment.
"Oh don't even worry about it. It was my fault for the crash, I should apologize to you. Me and my Mantine still have a lot of work to do, so there's always another year. I'm glad you guys won, made the 20th anniversary special seeing a tie for the first time." Ross says smiling.
"These canals are so amazing." Dawn thinks aloud.
"Don't I know it..." Ross agrees staring off in the distance.
"I travel them everyday being a gondolier. I don't think it'll ever get old." He chuckles.
"I think when we go to Kalos I'll start my journey as a trainer." Bianca announces.
Latias cheers hugging her sister.
"I knew you'd love it!" Ash says excitedly.
"Being a trainer is never a bad thing." Ross acknowledges.
"We'll leave for Kalos right after the wedding." Ash tells everyone.
"Who's the lucky couple?" Ross inquires.
"We are!" Ash and Tia say holding up their interlaced hands.
"That's awesome! Congrats. When's the big day?"
"We're not sure on an exact date but within the next two weeks." Tia admits.
"Well here's your stop" Ross tells them pulling up to the dock.
"Thanks Ross!" Brock says stepping off the gondola.
"No problem. I do have an offer for Ash and Tia though."
"Let's hear it." Ash says eagerly.
"It will be sort of a pre-wedding gift. It's not much, I'll tell you about on the way... How bout' it?"
"Sure" Ash indulges.
"We'll meet you all back at the house." Tia notifies.
"Okay." they agree.
"Be safe on your way back." Bianca warns.
"Will do." Ash agrees waving.
They climb back on the gondola and push off the small dock.
"So where are we headed?" Latias questions.
"Oh it's just a place I found a while back. Has the best view of the sunset in the city Just near the outskirts of Alto Mare. I think we'll be right on time too." Ross informs.
They reach open waters. The water is incredibly still like glass. The sky is orange with purple clouds. The sun rays shoot out and dance on the water, as it sets behind the mountains far off in the distance.
"Here it is." Ross tells them staring out over the water.
"Wow, you are right it's the best sunset I've ever seen." Tia admits.
They sit in silence watching the sunset with Latias in Ash's lap hugging her. He rests his head on her shoulder.
"You are by far the closest couple I've ever seen. Not hard to see how much you love each other."
They smile softly at Ross.
"Thanks for this." They both say.
"Ahh it was nothing, just glad you enjoyed it. Least I could do for a couple getting married." Ross tells them.
They make their way back to the dock. Stepping off the gondola they thank Ross again for the ride.
"Hopefully bump into you and the others when you return from Kalos. Hope you have a great wedding and good luck in Kalos!" Ross says waving as he leaves.
"Well that was fun!" Ash.
"Mhm. It was." Tia agrees kissing his cheek.
It's night when they get back to the house. Everyone is still up and chatting when they walk in.
"Hi! We're back!" Tia calls.
"Oh hello dear." Lorenzo says coming to see them.
"I've been carefully watching the egg while you were at the Tour."
"Thanks so much Lorenzo." Ash appreciates.
"Yes thanks pops."
"Oh it was nothing I can't wait till she hatches. I still can't believe I'm going to be a great grandfather."
"Oh and congratulations Ash on winning the Tour. I was watching on the small TV, while looking after the egg." Lorenzo smiles to himself.
"Thanks Lorenzo but the one who needs congratulations is Bianca. She has a promising future as a trainer."
"Well I'm pleased with you both. Thanks for convincing her to enter, I'm so happy she is trying something new."
"I'm glad too." Ash agrees.
"I'm going to call my mom. Excuse me." He say stepping out back.
"Certainly." Lorenzo replies.
*ring* *ring* *ring*
"Hello?" Delia says answering her phone.
"Hi mom you better pack your things we are having a wedding even though we're already mated. Lorenzo insisted so I thought you might like to come. What do you think?"
"Honey I'd love to! I love spending time with you and Tia."
"Great start packing and Me and Latias will pick you up."
"Love you mom see you soon."
"Love you too dear." Delia tells him hanging up.
Tia finds him outside.
"We have to pick up my mom for the wedding."
Latias smiles and nods.
They step back inside.
"Come join us!" Lorenzo says seeing them.
"Actually me and Tia have to pick up my mom. She's going to stay in a hotel here till the wedding."
"Nonsense! She can stay here in the master bedroom. I have a bed downstairs."
"Lorenzo I appreciate the offer but we're not going to kick you out of your room till the wedding." Ash reasons.
"I insist and that's that."
Ash reluctantly agrees.
"Ok we better leave to pick her up. It's late so we'll be safe no one should see us."
Lorenzo nods.
"See you in the morning." They say before leaving.
Ash and Tia head to the docks with her in her Pokeform unaware they are being followed.
"Okay I'll ride on you there and you can rest while I carry you and mom back."
Latias nods and she kisses him.
*click* *click*
Hmmm? What a scumbag. He's cheating on her and with a legendary pokemon no less. I will find a way to make her mine. When she realizes he's been cheating on her she'll fall right into my arms... just to find her now.
He turns to leave.
*oof*
"And what do you think you're doing?"
"Uhh nothing."
"You see I find that hard to believe as I've been watching you this entire time. Why don't you try again?"
"Well I was just getting evidence of Ash cheating on Tia..."
"Oh, were you now?" He chuckles.
"What's so funny?" The younger guy who was taking pictures asks.
"Oh nothing."
This guy isn't very smart... I could use this to my advantage...
"You see kid... um sorry what's your name?"
"Kato."
"You see Kato, Ash maybe cheating on his girlfriend but Pokephelia isn't illegal here. So while you might split them up. You won't have Ash out of the picture... however I may be able to help you... that is if you'll help me of course." The mysterious figure offers.
"Who are you anyways and how do you know Ash?" Kato blurts out.
"I have my sources. Ash is-er... a subject of interest and is being investigated for... classified matters." The figure responds curtly.
This knowledge peaks Kato's interest.
"What has he done? I need information to make sure Ash is separated from Tia permanently." Kato demands.
"Easy there son. As I said that information is classified."
"I can however aid you in your... mission." He continues.
"So what do you say I help you. You help me, everyone wins no?"
"Okay if you're sure this plan of yours is going to work." Kato finally agrees.
"Excellent." He sneers.
"You see my sources tell me Ash will be travelling to Kalos. So if he does those photo's you just took may be useful. Do you see now?" The figure hints.
"Umm. No I don't." Kato says lost.
"Fine. I'll spell it out for you." He tells him annoyed by Kato's stupidity.
"You see Pokephelia is legal here in Alto Mare. Taboo? Yes but still very legal. In Kalos Pokephelia is illegal and carries a minimum sentence of 15 years. So now if you follow Ash to Kalos. You can then show the authorities there the photos you just took Ash will be sent to prison. Thus it will help you get Tia and for me it will give... justice if you will. Do you see now?"
"Yes thanks for the help. Wait what's your name." Kato says as the figure turns to leave.
"Just call me Dr. V. You likely won't see me again but still we'll both get what we want." He says fading away into the shadows of the night.
When he gets back to his office he sits pondering his plans.
Excellent now that's quite the stroke of luck. With Ash briefly out of the picture I'll be able to execute my plan.
Meanwhile...
Ash and Tia are hurdling over the water with him on her back.
They reach Pallet Town in fifteen minutes.
They land in the forest overlooking the town. Latias changes to her human form. The walk towards Ash's house, exiting the forest.
When they reach his house the lights are out and it's well past midnight. Ash rings the doorbell not wanting to scare her.
Delia comes to the door sleepily.
"Hi honey, Oh and Tia you're here too." Delia smiles at them her voice laced with sleep.
She hugs them both.
"I thought you weren't coming till morning. So I went to sleep."
"Well mom it technically is the morning."
She looks at the clock
It's 4AM.
"I guess so." She laughs.
"Let me get my bags and we'll go."
" I'm so excited I finally get to see Alto Mare and it's your wedding!"
"Mom I know you're excited but you can tell no one about the secret garden." Ash warns.
"What's the secret garden?" She asks puzzled.
"You'll see when we get there." Tia answers.
"Okay dear."
"I'm Ash and I'll be the captain flying us over to Alto Mare. Please settle in. We'll be flying an altitude of ten thousand feet at a speed of mach two. Now relax and our fifteen minute flight over to Alto Mare."
Delia and Tia laugh at his pilot imitation.
Upon reaching the entrance to the secret garden it's almost sun rise with a dim sliver of light on the horizon. Delia and Tia climb off Ash.
"Here we are." Ash tells his mom changing back to human form.
"It's just a dead end with a brick wall." Delia says confused.
"You'll see in a second." Ash explains.
Ash and Tia look to make sure no one is around.
"Hold my hand mom. We are going to run through this brick wall. Don't worry you won't feel anything."
They all run through the wall and enter the secret garden.
Upon seeing it Delia does a sharp intake of air.
"It's beautiful almost like a dream..." Delia trails off.
"Welcome to the place that has been my home for the last 30 years. Let's go inside quietly so we don't wake anyone."
Lorenzo greets them at the door.
"Hello dear and Ash. You must be Mrs. Ketchum." Lorenzo says shaking her hand.
"It's wonderful to finally meet you Lorenzo and please call me Delia."
"Please Delia come inside we have much to talk about. First let me tell you a bit about this city's history." Lorenzo gestures to the living room.
They all get comfortable in the living room.
"So long ago... roughly a thousand years ago an old couple found two children washed up on the beach outside the city. A boy and a girl. They nursed the children back to health. Once healthy they revealed themselves as Lati's to the old couple. A Latias and a Latios. They swore to protect the couple and their city as thanks for saving their lives. They told the couple they had been fleeing a great battle between the Legendary Pokemon known as Kyogre and Groudon. One, their parents had been trying to stop but ultimately they weren't strong enough. Their mother was killed and later their father sacrificed himself to save them from the wrath of the warring Pokemon. Then as most people know a Rayquaza appeared from the heavens and unleashed a Dracometeor of power never seen before. Kyogre and Groudon retreated fearing this Rayquaza's great strength. Pokemon retreat and skies clear with it's presence. The kids had been fleeing in human form as not to attract attention but failed to see a stray meteor. It hit them both plugging them into the water where current carried them. After a day or more of riding the currents it washed them up on the beach. Where they were later found by the old couple. Thus began the centuries old relationship between our family and the Lati guardians of this city. Several years later the Defence Mechanism of Alto Mare was created. It required as Soul Dew to function and a Lati to activate. The Soul Dew being a round crystal ball that holds the soul of a dead Lati. Whenever the Soul Dew was destroyed one of the guardians would bravely sacrifice themselves to protect the city and keep the Defence Mechanism running. Not long after the mechanism's creation two evil ancient Pokemon attacked Alto Mare. The DMA quickly turned the Pokemon to fossils both of which are still on display at the city's museum. It has stopped many threats over the years. Every time a Soul Dew broke another Lati would give it's life to keep the city safe. The last Lati to do this was Tia's brother."
"I'm sorry for your loss." Delia says feeling deep sadness.
"Thank you but thanks to a strange twist of fate he was recently brought back to life but I appreciate your words all the same mom." Tia tells her with a gentle smile.
"Anyways this all brings us to the last time your son was here. I'll let Tia tell this story." Lorenzo continues.
"It was a warm summers day. I had just been at the museum with my sister and was on my way back to the secret garden when I was jumped by two members of Team Rocket. They had made special eyewear allowing them to see what I was even in my human form. I was about to be captured when suddenly a trainer appeared. One which I instantly love so dear. That trainer was none other than your son, Ash." Tia smiles to herself.
Ash hugs her in his lap, kissing her head. She continues...
"My brother did not like that I trusted him so easily. Eventually he let it slide. Back then I took a different human form. One identical to my sister without a beret."
Tia quickly shows Delia her old human form.
"Although I connected with right away Ash and trusted him completely. I couldn't let him follow me as my brother would never allow me to bring him to the secret garden."
"I was confused at that point because I had just seen what I thought was the same person at the museum painting. Yet here she was being attacked by Team Rocket. I thought Latias and Bianca were the same person." Ash explains sheepishly.
"Oh dear." Delia laughs.
"Anyways I tried to follow her but she quickly lost me. So I had to find my way back to Brock and Misty. Me and Misty later decided to enter the city's famous race through the canals. The Tour de Alto Mare. During the race I got lost by my Totodile or so I thought."
Latias giggles.
"It was actually me having a little fun at his expense." Latias confesses laughing.
"After the race I saw Latias again who I thought was Bianca. I wanted to ask her why she ran away from me. Eventually I catch up to her, when she steals my hat. I chase her until she gives me my hat back and leads me to the secret garden. There is a commotion with me, Latios and Bianca. They both wanted me to leave. Lorenzo shows up and clears the tension explaining that I could be trusted. Me and Pikachu spent the day with Tia playing on the swing and flying around. When she nuzzled me I felt a strong feeling that I had never felt before. There was a connection between us that at the time I couldn't understand or explain. I just knew she was very dear to me. Unbeknownst to us Team Rocket had followed me. They now knew where the secret garden and Soul Dew was."
Latias continues from where Ash left off.
"That night Team Rocket entered the garden. They attacked us stealing the Soul Dew and capturing my brother. I fled going to find the one person I trusted and loved so much. The one person I knew could help. The one person I will never stop loving." She says blinking back tears. Ash senses her emotion squeezing her tight and kissing her cheek.
"The one I will never stop loving" He whispers to her in agreement.
She hums quietly in content.
Feeling her calm he continues.
"Tia then lead me back to Lorenzo and Bianca, Tia used sightshare to show us that Team Rocket was going to activate the DMA using Tio against his will. Team Rocket started locking down the city to slow us down and resurrected the evil Aerodactyl and Kabutops. Tia and I rushed to the museum to rescue Latios before he got hurt.
On the way the evil Aerodactyl attacks us relentlessly. We kept running getting the Pokemon to slam into a concrete wall. We escape and sigh in relief. We continue to navigate the canals. Moments later the second Pokemon Kabutops attacks but only briefly. Misty and Brock show up and try to distract it. This allows us to continue to the DMA and stop Team Rocket."
Ash sighs sadly remembering the horrible night.
"Anyways when we get to the DMA it's going haywire. Team Rocket didn't know how to operate the mechanism. A group of criminals who will harm and kill people and Pokemon just to follow through with their plans to gain enough power to control the world. Their stupidity caused Latios unnecessary pain and left him injured. Me and Tia free him from the machine that would have killed him. He is severely injured though."
"The machine is malfunctioning horribly. This causes the Soul Dew to turn black. Team Rocket tries to grab the Dew and run but the Dew cracks and disappears. This causes the water to be forced out of the city and let back in creating a tsunami that will destroy Alto Mare if not stopped. I ride out to the incoming tsunami with Latios and Latias. They both use their powers to finally stop the tsunami." Ash says feeling regret for not being able to help.
"Tio bravely gave his life to become a Soul Dew so the DMA could continue protecting the city. Annie and Oakley of Team Rocket become trapped in the DMA and they are arrested and sent to jail." Tia continues to explain.
"The next day we had to leave Alto Mare. As I'm walking to the boat that Brock and Misty are waiting for me on I see Bianca or Latias. I wasn't sure. She gives me a painting and a kiss on the cheek. I boarded the boat and as it left I felt like something had been ripped from my heart. I had a great longing to be back with Tia. I wasn't sure who had kissed me either. I always hoped it had been Latias but my brain told me it was that was wishful thinking. My gut told me it was her."
"Was I correct?" he asks her.
Tia nods.
"Being a clueless idiot and naive I didn't know what to do with these feelings. So I left sad and unsure what to do with the feelings I had. The worst part, the one that I can never forgive myself for is the pain I left Tia with. I was jerk for not seeing what I meant to her as well as telling her how much she meant to me. I caused the person I love most pain for years because of my own selfish ambitions and cowardice." Ash tells them very angry with himself.
"Ashy hun it's okay. I don't hold anything against you and never will." She says cupping his face to make eye contact.
"Sorry I took so long to come back to you. I feel so bad leaving you alone with all the pain to deal with on your own." Ash apologizes tears falling from his eyes.
"It all worked out for the best hun." Tia soothes.
They stand up and kiss for a moment.
"I have you now and I'll never let go." Ash smiles.
"Okay mom we have a big surprise for you. Now close your eyes and we'll take you upstairs."
She nods, closing her eyes and allowing them to guide her upstairs.
Tia opens the door to let Delia in the room.
Upon entering she feels the warmth of the room.
"You can look." Ash instructs.
Her eyes flick open and she sees the warm room and the pillow nest with the incubator. She stares at the egg in awe analyzing the colours and shapes.
"Is that a Latias egg?" She asks.
"Yes Delia. Yes it is. The next generations of guardians." Lorenzo states.
"Mom you're going to be a grandmother." Ash say.
Both Ash and Tia hug her.
"She'll be beautiful just like her mother." Delia tells Tia.
"How long till she hatches? Sorry I have no clue about Pokemon eggs." Delia questions sheepishly.
"Well she should hatch in roughly a week or so. That's what Nurse Joy and the doctor said. It could hatch sooner if it's kept warm like it has been." Tia explains.
"I can't wait!" Delia exclaims drying her eyes.
"If it does hatch soon what are your plans? Also when is the wedding?" Delia asks.
"Well me and Tia thought about it and decided we'll have the wedding before the egg hatches. That way we can enjoy ourselves for a week before going to Kalos." Ash informs.
"What if we have the wedding in two days? I mean it's not going to be very big since the secret location. It shouldn't be hard to set up." Lorenzo suggests.
"Ya that should work great." Tia confirms.
"How about us girls go dress shopping tomorrow?" Tia offers.
"That would be great fun!" Delia agrees.
"We should hash out some of the details tomorrow about the wedding." Ash tells his wife.
"It's early morning we should get some sleep before doing anything. Delia you can take the master bedroom, no need for a hotel." Lorenzo says.
"Are you sure about me taking the master bedroom? I can always sleep in a guest room or somewhere else..."
"Yes Delia I insist." Lorenzo affirms.
"Well thank you."
"Goodnight everyone." They say heading to their rooms.
Ash yawns as Tia moves the nest closer to their bed. In case it hatches in the night. They curl up in bed together and fall asleep.
The next day they wake in the late afternoon.
"We have a wedding to prepare." Tia tells him.
Ash still half asleep wants to sleep longer and tries to pull her back into bed.
"C'mon hun get up." Tia says wanting to indulge him but knowing they need to start the day.
"Uhhg... okay I'll get up." Ash groans.
They eat some cereal then have a quickie in the shower. After they sit at the table and decide who to invite.
"Since we are having the wedding here it we only have a small guest pool." Ash says.
"Well I never really wanted to have a large wedding anyways." Latias admits.
"That leaves Max, May, Misty, TJ, Cilan and Iris." Tia thinks out loud.
"TJ is travelling so he won't be able to attend." Ash points out.
"I think it's best we don't invite Iris with all the human-pokemon relationships."
Ash nods.
"I wanted to invite Cilan. He's a good friend." Tia says
"Well then let's invite him." Ash suggests.
"If we do Iris will be offended though and I don't want to cause any problems." Tia sighs.
"Fair enough." Ash agrees.
"Why not call him and let him decide. If he can't come at least he'd know he was invited." Ash offers.
"Okay." Latias accepts.
Ash video calls Cilan.
"Hey Ash and Tia!" He greets seeing them appear on his screen.
"Hi." Tia waves.
"What's up?" Cilan inquires.
"Well Tia and I are having a wedding here in Alto Mare and wanted to invite you."
"That's awesome! You guys are great together. When is it?"
"Thanks Cilan. It's in two days. Kind of short notice I know..." Tia smiles.
"It's just we can't invite Iris cause there'd be problems considering there's three human-pokemon relationships here including us."
"Oh I know." Cilan sighs.
"I mean one day she's going have to learn to accept it. I really wonder why she's become so against it..." Cilan ponders.
"She's going to lose her friends because of her pigheadedness. I'd try and get it sorted out now but I don't want that to weigh on your wedding. At the same time if she found out I went when she wasn't invited and I was she wouldn't talk to me for months." he continues.
"Well we'd love you to attend if you can."
"I'd love to. I just worry about the Iris thing... You know if you could book me a ticket under a different name. I could tell her I have to travel to Sinnoh and arrange a fake flight there and talk Gardenia's folks to create a sort of Alibi. Would it be all right if I brought along my wife Gardenia? I was hoping Tia would like to meet her. Dawn knows her quite well so she could vouch for her being trusted."
Ash chuckles a bit.
"Don't worry I trust her too. Got to know her when I was in Sinnoh. Consider it done." Ash agrees
"She the opposite of Iris too so don't worry about any awkwardness."
"Can't wait to meet your wife." Latias smiles.
"Call us when you land and we'll pick you up." Ash tells him.
"Okay I should arrive at around 8 or 9 AM tomorrow." Says Cilan hanging up.
"See you then." Ash says hanging up.
"We just need to get some benches and a minister... Maybe Lorenzo knows someone?" Ash questions.
"I'll ask. Anyways Bianca will obviously be my maid of honour. I assume Brock will be your best man?"
"Ya I th-"
Brock interrupts walking in.
"Actually I thought I'd be your celebrant. I got ordained a while back. That is if you want me to of course..." Brock suggests.
"That would be great!" Tia exclaims.
"Pikachu can be my best man then." Ash decides.
"All that's left is benches and clothing."
"I can set up seating and decorations." Clemont says.
"And we can go shopping for the clothes." Delia tells Tia coming downstairs.
"Awesome." Tia smiles
"Just call Misty now and everything is covered." Tia tells Ash before leaving with Ash's mom.
"We need to get tuxedos for the guys and dresses for us girls and most importantly you a wedding dress." Delia tells Tia leaving with Bianca and Dawn as well.
Ash calls Misty while they're gone.
"Hey Misty it's Ash."
"Oh hey Ash haven't heard from you in a while."
"Well I have some news... I'm getting married."
"What?! Well who's the lucky lady?" She asks.
"Latias."
"You're marrying a Pokemon?"
"Sorry that came out wrong. I didn't mean to sound unsupportive. I'm just surprised is all. Congrats by the way."
"Thanks and as you might have guessed you, May and Max are invited, it's tomorrow in the late afternoon." Ash tell her.
"We'll be there in the morning! Max won't though he flew back to Hoenn just a couple days ago."
"Okay. See you then!" Ash says hanging up.
"May hun?" Misty calls.
"Ya?" She answers popping out of the laundry room.
"Pack your bags we're going to Alto Mare."
"Really? What for?"
"Ash and Latias' wedding." Misty tells her.
