Ash flicks on the light on his nightstand. The red egg starts to shake. Ash carefully picks up the incubator and removes the egg. It wobbles in his hands. He places the egg on their bed. The egg starts to glow the shell cracking and disintegrating. When the light fades they see a little new born Latias. Slowly she opens her eyes staring up at them blinking a few times.
"Hi baby. I'm your mom and this is your dad." Tia tells her daughter pointing to each of them.
"Ma." She says with a giggle.
"Da..." she says turning to look at Ash.
"Yes." Tia confirms.
She begins to stretch her wings and arms out. Then she grabs Ash's finger with her little claws and he smiles at her kissing the top of her head. She pulls his finger to her mouth starting to chew on it.
"She might be hungry." Ash suggests.
Tia nods picking her up. She cups her daughters head bringing her to chest and she begins to drink. Eventually she stops feeding and Tia rocks her back and forth in her arms till she falls asleep. She lays Ellie on top of Ash's chest and she curls up beside him and they go to sleep.
In the morning Latias wakes first. She carefully maneuvers out of bed not wanting to wake Ash and Ellie.
They are so adorable like this!
She grabs her camera taking a picture of them sleeping. Tia then goes downstairs to cook breakfast for everyone. Pancakes again...
Oh well.
She doesn't have the energy to make anything else. When she's done she goes to wake everybody up. She wakes Ash first.
"Good morning babe." Ash says sleepily as she wakes him.
She kisses him then carefully scoops up Ellie not wanting to wake her.
"We should surprise everyone with her." Latias whispers.
"Okay I'll be the last one down." He whispers back.
"Breakfast!" She calls as she knock on everyone's door.
Tia goes back down to set the table.
Lorenzo is the first one down.
"Oof, good morning dear." He says stretching as he enters the kitchen.
"Good morning Pops." Tia greets, smiling at her grandfather.
One by one the rest make their way down for breakfast, Clemont being the last.
He rubs sleep from his eyes as he goes to sit at the table.
"Hey everyone." He says sitting down.
"Morning." Others chorus.
"Where's Ash?" Clemont inquires when he doesn't find Ash at the table.
"Oh he wasn't feeling well so I let him sleep in." Tia lies.
"Too bad. Hopefully he'll be well enough to leave today." Clemont remarks.
"Ya." Dawn agrees.
"So you're all leaving on your next adventure?" Lorenzo asks.
"Yes we are Pops and I begin my life as a trainer." Bianca answers excitedly.
"That will be wonderful. You did really well when I watched you in the Tour. I'm sure you have a bright future as a trainer as Ash said."
"Thanks." Bianca smiles.
"Mom we can drop you off at home as we head to Kalos if you'd like?" Tia offers.
"That's alright dear. I plan to do some sight seeing and explore the city. It's not everyday I get to vacation to a city like Alto Mare. I can always take the ferry home. Thanks for the offer though." Delia thanks.
"Well make yourself at home here while we're gone." Tia tells her.
"Thanks honey!" Delia replies.
Tia nods.
Silence soon blankets the conversation and all that can be heard is the sounds of cutlery and eating.
Ash walks in cloaked with Ellie and stands behind his wife. She smiles to herself as she senses him.
"There's someone cloaked here!" Tio exclaims standing up with worry.
Latias laughs.
"It's Ash isn't it." He deadpans.
"You would be correct." Ash confirms making himself and Ellie visible.
Everyone is shocked when they see Ellie.
"Oh my goodness she's so cute!" Delia exclaims.
"Everyone meet Ellie she's about eight hours old."
Ash gently picks up Ellie's hand and waves at everyone.
"Can you say 'hi' Ellie?"
All she lets out is a squeak which earns a collective 'Awww'.
"Would you like to hold her Mom?" Ash asks her.
"Would I ever!"
Ash laughs placing Ellie in his mother's arms.
Delia touches her grand daughters nose. Ellie's eyes light up and she giggles.
"Ellie this is your grandma. Can you say 'grandma'?" Tia asks Ellie.
"Gamma?" she tries and everyone chuckles.
"That's right sweetie." Delia tells her.
Everyone takes turns holding her. She coo's and giggles meeting all of them.
"Mama!" Ellie calls after a while.
"You hungry honey?"
Ellie nods.
Tia takes her upstairs to feed her. Ash and the other get ready to go.
Eventually everyone gathers at the door ready to leave. Lorenzo and Delia see them off at the docks. They all gather in a large private room on the ferry as it sets off.
"Okay Clemont and Dawn we are planning to petition for the legalization of human-Pokemon relationships. If you don't want to join in you can always tag along or go do your own thing while we are in Kalos." Ash begins.
"No we are in." Clemont and Dawn affirm.
"Awesome. Although there is a bigger problem at hand than what I just mentioned."
"We believe that even though we stopped Team Rocket, someone has taken the body and continued down the path of bringing it to life. We have to stop them before they succeed." Ash warns.
"What is the plan then?" Clemont asks.
"Once we reach Kalos we head to Professor Sycamore's lab to get my sister her first Pokemon and ask if he has any information to help. Then we go to Lumiose city press to speak with Alexa our plans and ask about someone named Dr. Vaker. We believe he is behind or a part of this plan. Lastly once and if we stop this we rally for Pokephelia and host a Tournament to hopefully decide the law as such." Tia explains.
Everyone nods in agreement.
Sooner they reach Cherrygrove and catch their flight to Kalos which takes only a few hours. They land close to Lumiose city and travel straight to Sycamore's lab. Along the way Ash calls Alexa letting her know their plans and asks if she can find any information on Dr. Vaker. Upon getting to the lab they are greet by a familiar Garchomp.
"Hey Garchomp!" Ash greets.
"Garrr!" She cries happily.
"Ash is that you?" The professor calls hearing them enter.
He chuckles seeing the professor.
"You guessed it." Ash says shaking his hand.
"I see you brought friends."
"That I did. Professor Sycamore this is my wife Tia, her sister and boyfriend. Everyone else are close friends.
"So you got married? Congrats!"
"Thanks professor."
"So nice to meet you all! Now what can I do for you?" Sycamore asks.
"I was looking to become a Pokemon trainer." Bianca tells him.
"Well then follow me."
"Okay so I have obviously the Kalos starters but if those aren't your cup of tea, We have Kanto and Hoenn starters to choose from as well. Which would you like? If you need some time feel free." Sycamore says.
"I actually decided before I got here that I wanted a Chespin." Bianca tells him sheepishly.
"Okay here you go." He replies handing the Pokeball to her.
"Come out Chespin." She says letting him out.
"Pi-Pin!" He greets them and the other Pokemon.
"Pikachu." Ash's buddy says waving.
"Bun-Bun!" Buneary choruses.
Before they left for Kalos Tia got a front baby carrier for Ellie, which she currently is asleep in.
"And who's the little one you have Tia?" Sycamore asks.
"This is me and Ash's daughter."
"That's a Latias if I'm not mistaken." Sycamore says.
Tia nods.
"I'm sure you can figure out the rest."
"So you married a Legendary Pokemon huh Ash? Yes it's illegal here but don't worry your secret is safe. Personally I find it awful that they can disallow these relationships." Sycamore assures.
"Thanks Professor." Tia says.
"From a scientific and psychological stand point it's extremely damaging for people and especially Pokemon when they're separated from someone they love."
Everyone nods in agreement.
"We are looking to change that." Tia tells him.
"Well I'll try to support you however I can." Sycamore agrees.
"Is there anything else you need or I can do for you?" Sycamore asks.
"Well we are looking for someone named Dr. Vaker if you know him or have any information about him that would be a huge help." Ash explains.
"I did know a Dr. Vaker not sure if it's who your looking for... Anyways we were in school together some years before I was head of the lab here. Never knew him well. He seemed like a nice fellow. Very focused on his schooling and Pokemon genetics in particular. Fushi Vaker I believe was his name always top of the class. He did or possibly still does live in Geosenge town. Don't know anymore than that I'm afraid."
"Thanks for the information professor." Ash says appreciatively.
"No problem Ash, hope it helps."
Sycamore shows them around the lab and then everyone leaves to meet Alexa.
They meet at a small coffee shop outside Lumiose city. Alexa decides they should head to a more private area to discuss the story.
"So you told me what you want the article to be on... why don't you all tell your stories of how you came to love a Pokemon or better yet how they came to love you." Alexa suggests.
"I'll start." says Ninetales.
"Well it started a while back I had just come into heat at the time. I wanted my first time to be special. I'm not sure how I got thinking about it but I had come to love Brock. He seemed nice when I decided to become his Pokemon and as he raised me I grew to love him more than anything. I wondered if he could be with me instead of some Pokemon I don't really know or trust. I was closer to him than any other Pokemon I knew. I believed that he at least liked me well enough for us to get close and be friends. I didn't know if it was possible but I assumed it was and I hatched a plan to hopefully become his lover. One night he had just lain down in our tent for the night and instead of curling up beside him I stood over him lick his mouth and grinding against him. He responded and we ended up making love and I felt that I wanted to be with him and only him for the rest of my life. I wanted to be his mate. In the morning he was distant and I thought he hated me for what I had done. He wouldn't let me in the tent with him and each day got worse. He thought he had taken advantage of me and I thought he hated me and didn't want to be my trainer anymore. So I decided that I would leave before he got rid of me. However I wanted to kiss him one last time before I left. I waited until he was asleep and slipped into the tent I stood over him just as I had before I lightly kissed his cheek then his lips. When he woke I ran and didn't stop. Tears blurred my vision but I kept running as long as my legs could carry me. It hurt like hell but I figured he'd be happier without me and I would no longer be a burden to him. I cried until I fell asleep. He must have sent his Crobat to find me because sometime in the night I was startled by the sound of heavy foot steps and looking out from the forest I could make out his figure. He says he wants to talk. I make my way out and meet him. He sees the tears and my eyes and says he's sorry. He says that he knows I hate him for what he did to me. I wanted to scream 'I don't hate you, you idiot I love you!' I couldn't talk so I just shook head. He still didn't get it overwhelmed I collapsed crying. I soon felt him stroking my head and he whispered 'it's okay I'll find you a new trainer.' Hearing those words made me angry, angrier than I'd every been in my life and upon hearing those words I bit him, harder than I meant. He cried out in pain. I was upset with myself when I saw the blood and started to cry again. He told me it was okay and he finally understood I didn't want that. He asked me what I did want with no words to say I showed him with my actions. I tackled him pinning him with my weight and I kissed him harder than I ever had before and didn't stop till he was kissing me back. I eventually found out he loved me like I loved him. We decided that we would make it work no matter what. Fast forward to today we are mates and I can talk so I get to tell him everyday how much I love him." Ninetales finishes, smiling to herself.
Brock kisses her. Then he points to their mating marks to show Alexa.
"These are our mating marks and as you know Pokemon mate for life. If it were impossible and unnatural for people and Pokemon to be together then these marks wouldn't be possible." Brock says
"Wow that's incredible. I'm glad you have each other. Thanks for telling your story. Go ahead Tia." She says.
"Well I loved Ash from the moment we met. As I got to know him through the way he battle and the way he treated Pokemon I loved him even more. I had no way to tell him what I felt and on the day he left I kissed him partly because I had been longing to and partly because I hoped he would remember it and understand what I felt. I waited and hoped for him to return. Days turned to weeks, week to months and months to years. I grew more depressed each day without him. It hurt so bad I planned something rash. I would never love anyone as much as him and I couldn't live in a world where I was alone without him. Then if by fate two days before I planned to leave this world Ash showed up. I didn't want to see him though. I couldn't see him again when he was going to leave. It would break me. I couldn't bear to look him in the eyes knowing what I was going to do. I hid away and slept in the garden. Life had however had different plans. I awoke with him in front of me and if by some other power he told me he loved me. I knew then I would be with him for as long as I lived and whatever came after. Our mating marks are a testament to that." Tia states.
"Hoo..." Alexa breathes tears falling from her eyes.
"Sorry..." She says collecting herself.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that but at the same time I'm so thrilled you are together and have each other." She says through tears.
"I really hope I can do these stories justice and people can feel what I'm feeling now. it's the ultimate love prevailing against all odds. Okay Bianca or Tio you're up." She says wiping the tears away.
"Our story isn't as exciting as the rest. Basically we grew up together and fell in love. We both felt the same but unsure how to proceed. We didn't know what would happen if others knew, how they would react. So we shared kisses in secret and made love when no one was around. Then before we felt comfortable with sharing our secret Tio died and I was left with sorrow. I felt the same way my sister did. But couldn't follow through even though I wanted to. I couldn't hurt my Pops or sister and even if that didn't matter... I had no guarantee he would be waiting for me. When he was brought back to life I found out that Lati's are bound to their Soul Dew unless it's destroyed. Anyways we got a second chance for happiness. Which we cherish deeply. We have each other now and we are never letting go. We haven't formed our mating marks yet cause we have been waiting to show the world in hopes that they will see you should love and be loved without fear or penalty. Normally forming mating marks is very personal thing but for today it's something special we can share. Please record this." Bianca tells Alexa.
Latios reverts to his Pokeform. Alexa then sets up her camera to record. When she's ready she signals to them and Latias nods in confirmation. She starts recording.
Bianca places a hand on Latios' wing and it glows brightly and as the light fades a green band forms on that wing. Tio then takes her ring finger placing his claw on it and it too begins to glow leaving a blue band on her finger. Then they kiss deeply. They gaze into each others eyes when they pull apart.
"I love you B." Tio says.
"And I love you Tio." Bianca replies.
They kiss briefly and then hold each other tight.
"Forever..." he whispers in her ear.
"Forever," she agrees.
Alexa stops recording and quickly reviews her footage making sure she got everything.
"I gotta be honest I used to see human Pokemon relationships as this strange obscure thing. Now I see it as a special bond one that surpasses the fickleness of a human heart. Thank you for changing my mind and especially for sharing everything you did. I really hope people see and feel what I have. Everyone deserves to be with anyone they really love." Alexa admits.
"Thanks for agreeing to do this." Ash tells Alexa.
"No problem. By the way from what little I could find on Dr. Vaker he seems like every other doctor in his field. From his work, study and papers he seemed very focused on both alteration of a Pokemon's genetics and the possibility of creating new ones. Just like professor Sycamore said. It also seems he still live in Geosenge town. I would start there and either ask around or go to his place to find out more." Alexa explains.
"Okay thanks there has to be more to this. Anyways get the news story ready to air and send it to other organizations as well when when I give the green light. Prepare the broadcasting for the tournament as well. Thanks again it means a lot."
"Glad to help."
"I should really go now. I'm needed at the gym. Thanks for another journey and all the special moments. Hopefully see you all again soon and definitely when you make it to my gym to attempt to get the your gym badge Bianca!" Clemont smiles.
"You bet." Bianca says.
Latias let's Ash hold Ellie and she runs to Clemont to hug him.
"Oof." Clemont groans surprised.
"Thank you for the freedom you have given me and my brother." Tia tells him.
"Yes, thank you we are forever in debt to you." Tio agrees.
"You are both very welcome. Just glad I could help... and that my invention actually worked for once." Clemont laughs.
"Bye!" Clemont calls as they wave until he disappears on the horizon.
"Okay well thanks for the coffee I got to finish go finish the story. I'll be sure to include information on the tournament and how to pick a side and what not. I'll also call you if any of the governments are willing to change the laws based on the outcome of the tournament and the information recorded for the news broadcast. Good luck on the rest of your journey." Alexa waves before getting picked up by a colleague.
"Hungry." Ellie tells Tia.
"Okay hun."
"Want to try some macarons?"
She nods seeing all the vibrant colours.
They all sit and eat the dinner Bianca made for Pokemon and people alike.
Ellie loves the macaron upon trying it.
"Hungry!" She cries again.
"Okay, okay." Tia says feeding her a few more.
"Say thanks to your aunt for making these." Tia tells her daughter.
"Tanks auntie."
"You're welcome love." Bianca smiles at her niece.
"Tia pass the macarons Chespin wants some." She says.
"Pin-pin!" Says excitedly.
As she hands them to her sister they disappear from her hand.
"Where'd they go?!... Something stole our macarons." Tia exclaims still surprised.
"Don't worry me and Tio will see if we can find them."
"Let's go babe." Tio says to his wife.
Then they hear what sounds like a child's cry coming from the forest.
"Come on everyone let's go investigate."
"Stick together." Tio warns.
They hear the cry again.
"The sound moved." Brock calls.
They try to follow the sound over and over with no luck and they soon find themselves lost.
"We are totally lost let's find our way back to camp." Bianca suggests.
Ash nods.
"Noivern I choose you!" Ash says bringing out his Noivern.
"Hey bud can you help us get back to our camp." Ash asks.
"Raa!(Got it!)" he nods in agreement.
Moments later he's back.
"Follow me." He says upon his return.
They get back to their camp with Noivern's help but notice all their food is gone.
"Someone stole all the food!" Ash cries.
Suddenly the near by bush rustles.
"Shhh there's something in that bush." Tio whispers.
Ash quietly sneaks over to the shrub and he see a familiar sight.
"Hey that's our food!" He yells at the Pokemon.
"Phaaa!" It cries floating of with the macarons.
"I remember that shiny Phantump. It's the same one that fell on my head last time I was here! What a little brat!" Ash says angrily clenching his fist.
"How can you be mad? It's so cute!" Bianca says dreamily.
"I want to catch it!" She blurts out suddenly.
Ash sighs.
"Alright then lets go find it. Noivern lead the way." Ash calls.
Noivern nods leading them through the forest chasing the Phantump. They reach a large hollow tree that the Phantump disappears into. Suddenly 10 Phantumps come out to protect their shiny friend. They launch Shadow Balls at Ash and Bianca. Tio uses Protect blocking them.
"Thanks hun." Bianca tells her husband.
"Yeah thanks! That was close. Okay, Noivern knock them out with flamethrower but not the shiny one." Ash instructs.
Soon all the Phantumps lay fainted on the ground.
"Bianca you're up."
The shiny Phantump starts to cower in fear.
"Hey little guy it's okay! I'm not going to hurt you." She soothes.
He opens one eye to look at her. He sees the macaron Bianca is holding and it's eyes light up. It quickly snatches it and retreats to a safe distance before eating it.
"I want to be your friend and help you become strong. If you want you can have as many macarons as you want if you come with me. What do you say?"
"Phaa?" It says quietly looking up at her still uncertain.
Bianca holds out a Pokeball.
"If you want to come just press this button." She tells him pointing to the Pokeball.
Phantump stares at it for a while thinking about it. He hesitates at first but ultimately presses the button getting sucked inside. It wiggles in her hand a few times before it clicks signalling capture.
"I caught a Phantump." Bianca cheers.
She let's him back out of the pokeball and it nuzzles against her head.
"Would you like a macaron?"
It cries happily nodding.
"Phaaa(bye.)" it calls to it's friends.
"Phaa(bye.)" They chorus in return.
They then leave back to the camp.
"Good luck getting her attention for the next couple weeks." Ash tells Tio laughing.
Tio whacks him on the head.
"Ow! Hey not nice!" Ash whines.
"Oops." Tio replies dryly.
"Don't worry I'll kiss it better." Tia says kissing him.
"Squish!" Ellie cries getting sandwiched between them.
"Sorry sweetie." Tia apologizes petting her neck and head.
Ash chuckles, kissing Ellie on the head earning a coo from her.
"You know Phantump you can always come back and visit if you ever feel too homesick. There might not be any other Phantumps when you're with us but there will always be plenty of other Pokemon." Bianca explains.
Phantump smiles at her, floating around happily.
"Pin-pin!" Cries in agreement being held in Bianca's arms currently.
Back at camp they make sure everything is packed and ready to go for the morning.
"Thanks for all your help today Noivern. We wouldn't have made it without you."
"No problem. I'm ready to go to sleep." He tells his friend and trainer.
"Alright take a good rest." Ash says before returning him to his Pokeball.
"Your egg seems like it's still okay in the incubator. I wrapped it in thick blankets for while it was in my backpack to keep it warm and safe." Bianca tells her sister.
"Thanks B. It's a huge help with you looking after the egg. Especially with tending to Ellie."
"No worries. I just can't wait till he hatches." Bianca smiles.
"Same but it will still be a couple weeks."
"Yeah which might be for the best travelling with a second little one would be tough on the road." Bianca says.
Tia nods.
"I'll wrap the backpack in two more layers of blankets to keep it warm with the dropping temperature tonight. Me and Tio will keep it safe at the head of where we sleep." Bianca assures.
"Thanks sis. Goodnight." Tia says hugging Bianca.
Tia goes over to her tent. She see Ash playing with Ellie when she gets inside.
"Hey hun." Ash greets sensing her.
"Hey." She says kissing him.
"Ellie sweetie we need you to learn to take a human form before we go to the tournament which is only several days away. Mommy and daddy will help even uncle Tio to if you would like. It's for your safety." Tia explains.
"Kay mommy." Ellie agrees looking a little concerned.
"Don't worry we have lots of protection. We will all do our best to keep you and everyone else safe."
Everyone is asleep as night falls on the camp.
They wake to cool crisp winter day. The sun shining on the horizon and frost covering the ground.
"Good morning babe." Ash says waking up.
"Morning Ashy."
They spend time with Ellie trying to help her take on a human form in the morning but it ends up taking the whole day. So they spend one more night camping before travelling to Lumiose. They wake early the next day to morning much like the last.
Ellie wakes up in her carrier yawning as they are on their way to Lumiose.
"Hi hun. Ready to go to a big city?" Tia asks.
"What is there?" She asks.
"Well baby girl, they have tall buildings and a tower in the middle." Ash explains.
Ellie stares up at the buildings in awe when they arrive.
"Big. Make me feel small.' Ellie declares.
"Yes they are dear and I think they make everyone feel small. Amazing aren't they?"
Ellie nods still gazing up at the tall buildings and the sun reflecting of their glass windows.
"Tio when I have cousin?" Ellie suddenly asks.
Everyone snorts with laughter and Tio blushes.
"Ellie you shouldn't ask questions like that. They are personal. You can't ask people when they will have kids. You can ask how old their kids are if they already have them.'' Latias explains.
"It's okay sis. Ellie you will have cousins when me and your aunt decide we are ready. It could be in a month or it could be in two years. Rest assured though you will have a cousin eventually." Tio tells her.
"Kay. Sorry for personals."
Bianca laughs.
"It's fine sweetie, you didn't know.' Bianca says petting her head.
She coos and Bianca gives her a Pokepuff.
"I think I see the Pokemon Centre up ahead." Dawn tells them.
"You're right I can see it now." Ash calls a moment later.
They all rest and heal their Pokemon.
Just then an officer walks in.
"Are you Ash Ketchum?" She asks.
"Yes, why?"
"Ash Ketchum, you are under arrest for sexual assault on a Pokemon. You have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in court of law. You have the right to an attorney if you do not find one, one will be appointed to you." She reads him his rights before showing the picture of him kissing Latias in her Pokeform.
His shoulders sink.
How did they get that picture?
"Your hearing will be in 3 days and you will be in holding until then. Your Pokemon will be confiscated and held by us. If you are found guilty of the accused crime, your Pokemon will be given to a family member or close relative. If no one is willing to take them they will be released."
"Ashy!" Tia sobs.
"Daddy no!" Ellie cries.
"Tia it's going to be okay. You and Ellie will be both be in your ball. You will be held by the police so you should be completely safe. The rest of you find Dr. Vaker and get to the bottom of this. If worse comes to worse I'll reveal everything to the judge. Please take care of the egg and yourselves." Ash tells the rest.
Tia and Ellie are returned to their Pokeballs.
"Alright Ash we have to take you to the station and your belongings along with your Pokemon will be held in lock up."
Ash lays down in the cot at the station and falls asleep.
*Flash back*
'Finally he's reached Kalos just like the doctor said now's my chance.'
He calls the police.
"Hi I just saw a guy making out with a pokemon... I didn't hear his name that well. Ash maybe? I have a couple pictures so I'm sure you can find his identity.."
"Okay thanks please come to the station in Lumiose city and we'll collect and review the evidence. What's your name?"
"Kato, Kato Suma."
"Okay thanks."
He get's there several hours after mid day.
He arrives at the front desk.
"Hi I'm Kato. I called earlier reporting a crime and I'm here to hand over the evidence."
"Oh yes I remember, You said you had pictures?"
"Ya they're on my camera."
"Okay if you don't mind we'll hold your camera to review the photo's and well return it after our review. Just register your Xtransceiver and we'll call you when we're done with your camera. Shouldn't be later than mid day tomorrow. Oh and you may be called to stand witness at the trial."
"Yeah no problem."
"Just sign this release form and we're done."
"Okay thanks Kato. We'll contact you sometime tomorrow."
He exits the station.
'Yes. This is working just like the doctor said.' He smiles to himself.
He heads to the PC to spend the night.
*Flash back end*
Tia and Ellie are asleep all cried out in their Pokeballs.
The sergeant returns to the station and heads to lock up.
"Hello Sergeant McGile."
"Good day Constable. I'm here to collect a Pokemon from lock up it was reported stolen from Dendemille town by someone named Ash Ketchum. I assume he's currently in holding."
"Yes sir that's correct. I'll buzz you in and here's the key for the storage unit." The officer at the desk says letting him in.
"Thanks Constable Jeffries."
"Have a good day Sergeant."
He get's in his car and drives to meet Dr. Vaker.
"Here's the pokemon you requested."
"You're too kind Sergeant." The doctor laughs.
"Have a good day master."
"Yes my humble servant. You'll be rewarded soon." He sneers.
Soon I will command the greatest power to ever exist.
The Sergeant returns to the station and parks.
He jolts awake.
Damn I must have dozed off.
He walks in to grab some coffee in hopes it'll keep him awake.
The pot is by Jeffries desk at lock up.
"Back so soon?"
"Yeah just had to return some stolen item... Can't remember what I was doing, figured some coffee would help pick me up."
"Long nights sir?"
"Yeah, I feel like they're getting to me."
"I think they get to all of us sir." He chuckles.
"If the Chief knew he'd have my head."
"Not a word Sergeant. Not a word. By the way I think you had been looking into the strange reports near Geosenge town."
"Oh right how could I forget. Thanks Jeffries. Only a couple more days and I'll be off nights."
"Hang in there Serg." Jeffries says tipping his hat as McGile leaves.
Meanwhile...
"Ash!" a voice says as he sleeps
"Your hearing will be moved ahead."
"Reveal all to the Judge alone." It echoes and fades.
A baton tapping on the bars wakes him.
"You have a visitor." The officer tells him.
He rubs his eyes and sees Brock.
"Hey Brock."
"Hey Ash sorry you're stuck in here." Brock sighs.
"I shouldn't have been so careless." Ash confesses shaking his head.
"What are you doing here anyways?"
"They sent me to check on you. We are having a hard time finding Dr. Vaker everyone we talk to says they haven't seen him in over a month! They figured he was off researching a new project as he would sometimes do. No one knows anything more. The others are still trying to find a clue to where he might be. I was gonna stay here for moral support or to keep you company." Brock chuckles.
"I would love for you to. Don't worry about me though Brock. I'd rather you help the others. I'll be fine, I'll find you guys later if I get out."
"If you insist Ash. Hopefully see you soon. Good luck!"
"Thanks you're a great friend Brock go back to your wife and the other's forget about me and focus on getting to the bottom of this shit."
Brock nods waving good bye as he leaves.
Bianca, Latios, Dawn and Ninetales decide to set up camp for the night.
"I hope Brock is alright and same with Ash." Ninetales worries.
"Brock is a strong trainer. You know that better than anyone." Dawn assures
She nods.
"And Ash I'm sure will find a way to work things out and join us. We need to stay focused on finding this doctor."
"Let's call it a night."
"I haven't spent a night apart from Brock since about a year after we met." Ninetales sighs.
"You can stay in my tent... I'm not Brock but maybe I can be a decent body pillow or at least help you get to sleep?" Dawn offers with a soft smile.
"Thanks Dawn I think I will I know it seems silly." She sighs.
"Not at all. I haven't had a boyfriend or the sort since I was little but I imagine if I had someone like you with Brock, even Ash and Tia, or Tio and Bianca do. I doubt i could sleep without them either."
Ninetales curls up and Dawn puts a comforting arm around her pets her head softly. It takes a long time but eventually she falls asleep.
Meanwhile...
Dr. Vaker takes the pokeball to his secure room. Releasing Ellie from the ball.
"Hellllo little Ellie."
"Who are you?" She asks scared.
"Oh that's not really important. But you however, YOU are VERY important..." he assures.
"For what?" She asks innocently.
"Your parents deaths." He says casually.
She begins to cry.
Dr. Vaker laughs.
"Oh don't worry you won't see them die." He says with faux sympathy.
"I'll make them kill you first." He sneers. Causing her to cry even more.
He laughs at her pain, cackling loudly.
"And then I'll end their miserable lives!" He spits leaving her locked in the room.
Ellie collapses in tears crying for her mom and dad.
When he returns to his office her smiles to himself.
There's a knock at his door.
"Excuse me sir?"
"Yes?"
"LatiY is ready for tomorrow sir."
"Excellent this are progressing perfectly. Thanks for notifying me. Now please see yourself out."
"Yes sir." the man says ducking back out of Dr. V's office.
Back at the police station...
The lab technicians spend a good couple hours inspecting the camera and it's photo's. They come to the conclusion based on other photo's taken and the approximate time window the crime could have happened at there's a 70% probability that they were taken in Kalos and they are positive the photo's had not been altered.
Little did they know and Kato as well that the camera's photo grouping mechanism was secretly altered by Dr. V to lead them to these conclusions. With only a 70% probability they can not use the photo's solely. The need an eye witness as well.
They police office contacts Kato in the morning to let him know he can pick up his camera but he also will have to stand witness at Ash's hearing and trial. Which he agrees to.
He collects his camera and waits
The guard wakes Ash tapping on the bars again.
"Your hearing has been moved ahead." The guard says blankly before returning to his post.
It's just like the voice said!
An officer comes in.
"Hello Ash I'm here to take you to the court house." She says.
"I'm just going to put cuffs on you standard procedure. They aren't hurting you are they?" She asks after placing them on.
"Nope they're fine."
They escort him to the court house in a police vehicle.
They uncuff him at the court house and let him into the court room.
Ash walks up to the bench.
"Hi Ash you very likely don't know me. I however know you and what you have done for this region and we are forever in your debt. That being said you have committed a crime whether that be intentionally or unintentionally, that will only factor into the severity of the sentence. I have to treat you like any other person. I am willing to let this go as a misdemeanour. You will however have a record and face a week in jail and 30 hours of community service. I'l-"
"Excuse me your Honour? I don't mean to interrupt. I just need to tell you this as soon as I can." Ash says politely.
"Yes go ahead Ash."
"Thank you your Honour. I must show you something. Your eyes only. You may chain me to the floor for safety reasons if you must."
"Very well. As you said for safety reasons you must be chained."
They place cuffs back on him and chain him to the floor.
"Now I have never done this before for anyone but I'll give you a little leeway... Everyone out! You'll all be allowed back in when I am finished and do not interrupt."
Everyone exits the room leaving the judge and Ash alone.
"You may be alarmed at what you see but please try to remain calm." Ash warns
Ash switches to his Pokeform his claws still bound by the cuffs on his claws.
The judge jumps back in fear initially.
Ash bows his head to the floor.
"Please don't be alarmed. I bear you no ill will. You probably know dragons don't normally do this but it's their way of showing submission. I may not have been born a dragon but the sentiment is the same."
The judge relaxes sitting back in his chair.
"Okay but you're a trainer! How is this possible?!"
"May I lift my head to speak? This position is mildly embarrassing." Ash chuckles.
"Oh sorry yes of course. As you were." He waves.
"So how is this possible or how did it happen?" The judge asks again still in disbelief.
"It happened after one of my more recent adventures. How it happened still unsure. I am still human but marginally so." Ash explains.
"Still human?... how much are you human? Sorry this is just surreal right now." The judge questions.
"About 10-20% and yeah most people have feel the same way at first." Ash laugh sheepishly.
"I believe as a pokemon, I'm free to kiss another pokemon, especially my wife?"
"You're correct I'm-"
*Knock* *Knock*
There's a knock at the door and Ash immediately switches back to human form.
"Excuse me your Honour the witness is here."
"Yes thank you but I'm busy and as I stated I was not to be interrupted! I will allow everyone back in when I am finished as I said. Now please don't interrupt me again or you might find yourself without your job." The judge says curtly.
The man quickly closes the door.
"Sorry Ash now where was I? Oh yes. You're correct that it's legal and especially so since it's your wife. It's somewhat of a grey area when it comes to marriage but generally we don't sentence humans even if they kiss their wife who is a Pokemon. Or husband in the opposite case. I'm not sure why they didn't find your marriage license perhaps negligence on the investigators part. Anyways I will now be cancelling the hearing and dismissing your case but I am still interested in what you have to say... So please continue."
"Thanks your Honor."
"Ahh call me sir. I want maintain some level of professionalism but it's a bit tedious saying 'your Honor'."
"Well what I was going to get to is I actually want to ask a favour that's very important to me..."
"I'm listening. Go ahead shoot!"
"It may be asking a lot but I would like to get Pokemon/human relationships legalized in every region. I also know it would be even harder without evidence. I was planning on hosting a tournament One side battling for those relationships and one side battling against. The side that won would decide what the law would be."Ash details.
"I may not be out protesting in support of these kinds of relationships mainly because it doesn't affect me. None of my family or friends have this sort of relationship. I do however think that people shouldn't be punished for it. I don't make the law I just simply enforce and judge people by it. In this region and a couple others these relationships are either heavily frowned upon if not illegal. Which is really stupid when this region supports the idea of strong bonds between people and Pokemon but somewhere along the way someone with enough power made it illegal. Also this could hugely tarnish my reputation or could even end my career."
"Yes but I am asking you not because of my views but simply because of the lives it would save both human and Pokemon."
"You know Pokemon mate for life?" Ash asks casually.
"Yeah and I'm sure a good portion of people do."
"Now if we add a human to the mix when does that marriage end." Ash questions further.
"Well I suppose whenever the human decides it's over... or one of them dies."
"And I mean zero offence by this... but that's where you'd be wrong." Ash replies.
"Well then when does it end?" The judge asks confused.
"You have forgotten pokemon mate for life."
"Surely there's some difference? I mean people aren't known for longevity of romantic relationships."
Ash shakes his head.
"Wow that's hard to believe, then again I'm inclined to believe you."
"You can prove this?"
"I can show you... there are a few thing I must delve into before I do so."
"I'm all ears this is very fascinating."
"Have you heard of mating marks?"
"Vaguely. They're like wedding rings or something but for Pokemon?"
"Yeah kind of but permanent."
"Okay." The judge agrees.
"If I told you humans could form them with their Pokemon mates... what would you say?"
"Impossible! But again if I were to see it I would definitely believe you."
"Well let me show you... you know what pokemon I am?
"Sure! A Latios and I believe Latias is the female counterpart?"
Ash nods.
"Lati's have an ability called sight share... some other Pokemon of the psychic typing share this ability."
"Sight share? I guess you can show me things? the future?"
Ash chuckles.
"I can show you things I see or have seen or experienced through other sight share. Unfortunately very few Pokemon can actually gaze into the future and the few that can can't see too far ahead."
"Go ahead." The judge tells him.
Ash shows him Bianca and Tio forming their marks.
"That's is so many things. Amazing, beautiful, surprising, surreal. I won't go on but wow! Thanks for showing me that. I completely see this differently now."
"Would you like to feel the pain these laws and stigma can cause?"
"Actually I do. I want to truly understand the reality of it. But please stop when I say so. I have a strange feeling this will be hard."
Ash shows him his wife's sadness without him. As well as her desire to end her life. He shows The story of Bianca and Tio. Brock and Ninetales story and then Tia and Ellie when he was being arrested.
"Okay please stop!" He calls. He drops to the table with unstoppable tears.
"My Arceus what have we done?"
"This is awful. Ash I can't tell you how sorry I am. Give me a moment please... words. There are no words." He says through tears.
Ash sit solemnly letting him process everything.
After several minutes he collects himself.
"You understand why I want this? And it's importance?" Ash ask solemnly.
"I do son. I really do."
"I will make sure this is fulfilled in some way or so help me Arceus I'll die trying."
"I mean I could have broken free at any point in this. However I try my best to be honourable and law abiding. I haven't even kissed my wife in public since we got here. I was arrested and brought here even though if they knew the truth it would be legal."
"That picture? There must be something wrong with it?"
"Yes it was taken in my wife's home town, Alto Mare. She is one of the great guardians. In Alto Mare human pokemon relationships are very legal."
"Well you certainly live up to your reputation. You should be appreciated far more than you are."
"Never change Ash. You're a rare breed."
"Thank you sir. That's a promise I can keep."
"Thank you for showing me what you did. I honestly thought I was doing justice all my years as a judge. This isn't justice... There isn't a speck of justice. This is tragic, like some kind of horror. The only way I could stay doing this job is only to prevent 'this' same thing from happening. I will notify all the people I know in law enforcement and people I know that have a bit of weight in higher levels of government than I, to help you and your cause in any way we can. In hopes to make things right. I thought I was doing good with my wife we've been together for 30 years and I would like to stay with her for life but that love you showed me is a love that I can't even wrap my head around..."
"Think of it as willingness not just to live and die for your partner but to walk through hell ten thousand times if but to spend a moment with them."
"Lati's live a long time don't they?" He asks Ash trying to wrap his head around marriage longer than multiple lifetimes.
"Ten thousand years sir."
"That roughly 130 human life times! Hopefully next time we meet the circumstances will be better."
"Me too sir."
"One quick favour before you go. How easy can you remove those cuffs?"
Ash simply pulls them off his wrist and they fall to the floor.
"Thanks Ash." He says smiling to himself.
Ash stands while he lets everyone back in.
"Be seated!" he calls.
"Hearing closed! Case dismissed!" He yells smacking his gavel.
The judge has a quick word with Lumiose police chief letting him know the situation.
"Ash? Good luck son!"
"Thanks your Honor!" He smiles waving.
The police quickly escort him back to the station. They collect his stuff from lock up returning it to him.
"Sorry for the trouble Ash." the arresting officer apologizes.
"No worries you were just doing your job." Ash says.
He puts his backpack on and places the pokeballs on his belt when he notices one missing...
