Breathing hard Kaida leaned against the rock, tilting her head back to look at the sky and cursing whatever idiot decided that one portion of the Jounin exams had to be a public fight similar to the Chunin exams. The sounds of the crowd drowned out the smaller quieter sounds of her opponent.

Gripping her last kunai she pushed her mask down, rubbing at the sweat and trying not to freak out.

Her opponent – male, a few years older than her, more practical missions and experience, hard not to when she was only three years a Chunin, down to the same amount of weapons as she was, but he had a bloodline limit.

Cursing under her breath she stretched her senses and heard him approaching the crop of rocks she was hiding behind.

One kunai, tired, dirty, hurt. What the hell was she going to do. Scowling at hair that fell into her face Kaida blew it up, cooling her face . . . and giving her an idea. Aunti Rizzo, Ino and Temari always said if you can't beat them, distract them.

Kneeling in the sand, she unplaited her hair shaking it out to its full length – when had it begun to nearly hit her elbows? Pulling her mask off completely she poured out some water from her canteen and scrubbed her face. Leaning back on the rock Kaida closed her eyes, kunai once more held tightly in her hand and waited.

Springing up from behind the rock, she barely caught the surprised look on the Shinobi's face before she stepped into his body space, grabbed his collar in one hand, pulled him down and kissed him.

Eyes wide open Kaida had no chance to raise her kunai, giving a shocked squeak when the Shinobi went pure red and suddenly collapsed.

"Winner – Morino Kaida!"

Blinking in astonishment the fourteen year old looked over at the exam proctor, puzzled at the red faced cough he gave and simply trying to figure out why her opponent had . . . . . . fainted?

Making her way back to the waiting area she took no notice of the whispering and murmurings from the other examinees as she passed, a scowl starting to form on her face as she finally reached the opened room. Many Shinobi stood trying to watch both the next match going on below and her at the same time, all trying not to draw the attention of the four men in the centre of the room who impatiently watched the burgundy haired fourteen year old enter the room.

"Angel."

"Hey Dad, Uncle Gaara, guys."

"What was that?" Arms folded Juca looked down on his female teammate, the scowl on her face kinda funny but now was not the time for laughing.

"Huh?"

"Kissing your opponent Angel?" Seko questioned, his voice holding that quiet tone that usually warned her of his anger totally not registering with her.

Stepping forward with a nod from Ibiki, Gaara stood before Kaida, ignoring the clenching fists and teeth grinding of the father beside him as he received confused answers.

"Did you channel chakra to your lips?"

"No."

"Did you cover them in posion?"

"No." Kaida frowned, suddenly looking up at Ibiki "But that would be a good idea right?"

Grunting Ibiki closed his eyes, missing the puzzlement on his daughter's face as Gaara continued his questioning.

"Focus for a genjutsu?"

"No."

"Hallucinogenic?"

"No."

"Your hair?"

"What about it?"

"Poison, hallucinogenic, genjutsu?"

"No."

Finally fed up Kaida folded her arms, ignoring the attention her group now had as well as the looks that were blatantly obvious. "What are you talking about?"

"Why did you kiss him Angel." Ibiki growled, the Shinobi in the room gulping as a wave of Chakra so filled with anger and killing intent came off the large Shinobi.

Eyebrows rising in disbelief – why all the questioning, Kaida shrugged gently as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. "To distract him." Ignoring the faces her Dad, Uncle and teammates made. "I stepped into his space to position my kunai at a killing point but before I got the chance he collapsed, well actually his face went all red and his eyes rolled up into the back of his head and then he collapsed. Why did he collapse?"

As Kaida spoke, Seko and Juca had nudged the two dangerous men beside them and waved their attention to the males in the room. The males that were looking at their Angel. Looking back at Kaida – her long hair, her mask less face, clear skin, high cheek bones, bright emerald eyes - they came to an instant unspoken agreement.

The four men surrounded Kaida, grabbing her arms, Juca in a display of agility grasped her hair and secured it in a bun, Seko had her mask out of her pocket and pulled over her head in a blink of an eye as Gaara 's sand rose up on the walls until every male in the room looked away, the threat needing no words.

"Wait, why did he collapse?"

Growling at Kaida's confusion and promising death at any make who looked at his daughter Ibiki pulled her from the room. "Never you mind."

"But. . . "

Loud growls cut her off.

Beginning to worry about the behaviour of the four most important men in her life Kaida wisely closed her mouth and relaxed in their grip. Her feet barely touching the ground as they took her down the corridors, their faces scowling and looking like thunder, she knew she could hear teeth grinding.

Her Mom would tell her what was going on.
