Chapter 7 – Dance Party

Blaine awoke the next morning or rather early Sunday afternoon with a slight pounding in his head and Kurt's arms wrapped around him. Ignoring his developing headache, he snuggled further into Kurt's embrace, it took Blaine all of two seconds to realise something was wrong with that logic. Kurt was still in New York and he had gone to a Warblers party at Dalton, he was currently in one of Dalton Academy's dorm rooms snuggled up in bed with one of its students.

He quickly jumped out of bed and with mixed feelings running throughout his body saw none other than Sebastian Smythe roll over in his sleep so that he was now facing the wall instead of Blaine.

Somehow Blaine had mistaken Sebastian for Kurt which puzzled him, but what puzzled him more was the dream the he had that had awoken him in the first place. He had the same dream that he had had the other night about being married to a tall guy with brown hair, only this time it included some of the children whose pictures he saw on the bedside table. He had already forgotten most of it but he could still remember the name of the youngest child, her name was Charlotte Marie. Charlotte had dark curly hair that went to her shoulders and chocolate brown eyes. One could say that she was a female version of Blaine who had a smile that could brighten the world.

There was however a look in her eyes that he recognised but couldn't place, she was about to ask him something when her other father walked into the room. It was that moment that he woke up, for some reason his subconscious was trying to tell him something but at the same time keep whatever it was a secret. He was really starting to wish that he had been paying more attention when his sister went through her psychic phase, although that may have been because for a time, she believed that she could read peoples dreams and walk around in them as well as communicate between the two. She believed she could also influence them which he found was ludicrous and his sister was just plain crazy and watched far too much tv.

Now that he was wide awake, he didn't know what he should do. Should he wait for Sebastian to wake up or wake him up himself, or should he just leave him be and go home or should he stay at Dalton but leave Sebastian alone and go see one of the others instead, Wes in particular. He wasn't sure what he should do but before he could decide his phone went off. Wes had text him telling Blaine to meet him in the Warblers choir room. Silently thanking Wes for solving his dilemma Blaine wrote a quick note telling Sebastian where he had gone and left the dorm room, which he realised as he left had once been his.

It didn't take Blaine long to make his way to the Warblers common room, he knew the way like the back of his hand. Blaine had only been waiting 5 minutes when Wes walked in with a couple of coffees in his hands.

"Afternoon sleepyhead. Here I thought you could do with a pick me up." Wes said as he handed Blaine one of the cups in his hands.

"Thanks." Blaine took a sip of his coffee, man he forgot how good the coffees at Dalton were. "What was it that you wanted to talk to me about?"

Ignoring Blaine's question Wes walked further into the room and looked around. "It feels like only yesterday that I was sitting over there at that table with David and Thad. Hell, it feels only like yesterday that Jeff had bought you along to one of our meetings, where does the time go." Wesley turned around to face Blaine with a sad smile on his face.

"Tell me how you've been, and don't tell me that everything is fine."

"I'm not sure what you've heard but things are fine."

"Blaine!?" Wes said while giving him a look that said he knew Blaine was lying.

"Ok, maybe things aren't 'fine' fine."

"Walk with me." Wes said as he led Blaine out of the common room and down a corridor. "Tell me, how are things at McKinley?"

"Honestly, not as well as I thought it would be but surprisingly not that bad." Blaine took a deep breath as he tried to find the right words, he knew that nothing but the complete truth would please Wes. "It's not as welcoming as I thought it would be but I have made a few friends. Classes are a little slower than they were at Dalton, so no real problems there. If I'm being honest the only trouble, I'm really having is with the New Directions. Artie, Tina, Mike and Mr Schuester have been welcoming since I first transferred but lately so have Sam, Quinn and Puck. They're the ones I eat lunch with, even Brittany was eating lunch with us the other day. The rest of ND aren't exactly on speaking terms with us at the moment, basically the club is currently divided and it's because of me that it is."

Wes listened as Blaine told him about McKinley and the ND's, he knew there was more to it but let it slide for now. "How's Kurt?"

"Kurt?"

"Yeah. You mentioned all the others but you didn't mention anything about Kurt, is everything ok with you guys?" From what Trent and Jeff had told him as well as the others, he knew that Blaine was fighting with his boyfriend but he wanted Blaine to tell him on his own.

"Well the fact that I'm here instead of with Kurt in New York says a lot. We're currently fighting, at least I think we are, I really don't know anymore. I don't know when it all started, I only technically started noticing after meeting Sebastian and having him point it out to me. Things only really started to heat up about two weeks after sectionals."

Blaine looked as if someone had taken his piano or guitar away from him. Wes wanted to help Blaine but knew that Blaine was the one who had to make the decision for himself. As much as he knew about his growing friendships with at least half of the ND's it was Kurt that was influencing him in the long run. What was worrying him was the small tale signs of Blaine slipping back into his depression that had bought him to Doulton in the first place. Not as server as it had been back then but Wes knew Blaine better then anyone it was one of the reasons why Blaine trusted him so much. Seeing as how Blaine was being truthful with him, he knew that he had to come clean with him.

"I have something I need to confess."

"Yeah, what's that." Blaine asked with raised eye brows.

"The guys asked for me to make a special trip to come see you, to talk to you."

"That explains the late party, I should have known."

"They're worried about you, and I don't blame them."

"I know they worry about me, and the truth is I do miss them. I can't explain it, there's just something that…" Blaine trailed off with rambling thoughts.

Wes understood what Blaine was getting at. They had all formed a bond that none of them could explain, it was just something they all felt. "You don't have to explain it to me, I understand what you mean."

The two friends spent the next half hour walking around Dalton catching up and reminiscing about the good old days. When the finally got back to the common room they saw Jeff and Trent were in a heated argument about something, David and Thad were asleep on the sofas and Nick and Sebastian were silently steering out the window.

As soon as Blaine and Wes entered the room David and Thad sprang up, and they found themselves with 6 different set of eyes looking at them. Blaine looked like a deer caught in headlight while Wes burst out laughing.

"Ok, I think he has finally completely lost it." Nick said while the other boys just nodded their heads in agreement.

"I really needed that." Wes stated without explaining further.

Blaine spent the rest of the day with his friends at Dalton and before he knew it, he was heading home. Before leaving Wes had him promise that he'd make more of an effort to keep in touch.

Over the next couple of weeks life was pretty much routine, go to school, get grilled by Kurt and home again. Every time Blaine talked to Kurt either at school or on the phone at home all Kurt would talk about was NADA or his clothes. Not once during those 2 weeks did Kurt call Blaine, Blaine called Kurt and the couple of times he didn't Kurt had given him an earful the next day. Near the end of the 2 week Blaine lost his cool as he couldn't take it anymore, he told Kurt what he had been doing and he'd had enough but all Kurt said was that he was preparing for his NADA audition and thought Blaine would have been more supportive before walking off in a huff refusing to talk to him for the rest of the day.

"Something has to be done about this." Tina told Artie and Mike as she watched Kurt and Blaine walk away in opposite directions.

Making up her mind she took off after Blaine while shouting at the 2 boys behind her. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. Hey, Blaine wait up."

"Tina?" he asked as he turned around.

"I couldn't help but hear but you and Kurt were arguing about, is everything ok."

"You heard that?"

"It was a little hard not to."

"I don't know what to do with him anymore, I feel like I'm his boyfriend but he's not mine. Does that make any sense?"

"Actually, it does. Do you want my two cents?"

"Go for it." He said with a slight smile.

"Kurt has always been about himself, true he's had his trouble probably more than most. However, just because he's managed to pick himself up, with our help I might add, doesn't give him the right to step on others for his own gain. Kurt is just like Rachael; they think they are better then everyone else and if you don't agree then you are against them and trying to bring them down. It's not fair, not by a long shot. I've been with ND since the beginning and all I'm reduced to is backup singer and sometimes not even that. My point is, is that due to being side-lined I get to see what everyone else doesn't. I can see how the effect of Kurt's actions are hurting you. Kurt was being bullied and he left and meet you, you tried to make him feel like one of the Warblers but instead of thanking you and being grateful he tried to take over because he was reduced to backup singer. Even after the Warblers gave him a lead song, just because you guys lost, he wants to jump schools again, he says it was because of Karofsky but it was just because he couldn't stand the fact that ND was moving on to Nationals without him. No offense."

"None taken."

"Now this year, just because it's his senior year he expects you to change schools just so his senior year could be 'special'. Once you do, he's still not happy because he get better singing opportunities then he does. He's pretty much told you never to see or speak to your old friends ever again yet won't stand up for you when his own step brother bully's you, and don't get me started on his attitude towards Sebastian. All in all, Kurt is a self-scented prick who doesn't deserve you. He doesn't even know why you were at Doulton in the first place."

"How do you know?" Blaine was shocked at Tina's monologue but knew she was dead on the mark.

"I don't know the full story, but your friends Wesley and David gave me the cliff notes version a few weeks ago."

Blaine guessed it must have been after he had left Dalton that Sunday that now seemed like a life time ago. Knowing Wes, he didn't want Blaine left alone and must have called Tina to set something up in order to keep an eye on him. Truth be told Blaine was scarred, he knew things with Kurt were going down hill but he didn't know how to break up with him or what would happen if or when he did, would he stay at McKinley or go back to Dalton, what about his friends on either side. It was all too much and he wished more then anything that his parents were at home or at least one of his siblings. That was one of the downsides to leaving Dalton, it meant that when he got home, he was all by himself in a large house. It gave him unwanted time to dwell on things and send him back into the darkness that it took his friends along time to pull him out off, he wondered what Kurt would do if he found him on the bathroom floor the way Wes and David did. I shiver went up his spine at the thought, if it had been Kurt, he would not be the person he was today if he was even around at all.

After saying goodbye to Tina Blaine made the decision to call his Warbler friends to meet him at his house minus Sebastian, he really needed to talk to them about everything especially about his growing feels towards the tall excluded Warbler.

"How's it shaking?" Nick asked as he walked through Blaine's front door followed by Jeff, Trent and David. Thad and John stayed back to keep Sebastian occupied.

"You really need a new greeting." Trent told him as he walked past him.

"Whatever." Nick mumbled. "How can we be of service, my lord." Nick asked while giving Blaine a bow.

Blaine flipped him the finger before giving him and the others a hug. He spent the next couple of hours catching up on all the gossip at Dalton and talking about his situation with Kurt and Sebastian. The conclusion was that life is too short to worry about the small things and that he should be living in the here and now, making the most of things before adulthood took over.

The next day at lunch Tina made Blaine tell her, Artie, Mike and Sam, who had decided to join them that day, everything about the Warblers, Kurt and Sebastian. When she had gotten home the previous afternoon, she had called Artie straight away and together they had come up with a plan.

"… now I'm not sure on what I should do?"

"That's some heavy shit man." Was all Sam could think to say.

"We should have a party." Mike stated as everyone looked at him. "What? Having a party is a good way to let go of all the tension and just have some good plain old fun."

"We could have it at my house." Artie said as he discreetly winked at Tina and Mike, who they had let in on the plan.

"We could invite some of the Warblers as well and anyone from ND who'd like to play nice." Despite Sam not being in on the plan he did catch on quickly to want the other 3 were up to and thought it was a great idea. Not only could they help Blaine but if they played their cards right, they could also make peace with the Warblers and just have some fun, they might even be able to bring both glee clubs closer together.

"That's settled then, party at Artie's house Saturday evening at 6pm." Tina stated while ignoring Blaine's question look.

Before Blaine knew it, it was already Saturday evening and he was getting out of Sam's car and walking to Artie's front door, Sam had insisting on picking Blaine up after talking with Tina. When they got inside Blaine saw that the Warblers were all already there, there was David, Thad, John, Trent, Nick, Jeff and of course Sebastian. From ND there was Artie, Tina, Mike, Sugar, Joe, Rory and surprisingly there was also Brittany, Quinn and Puck.

"You guys had this planned all along, didn't you?" Blaine said to Sam as they made their way further into the house.

"Not me. I believe it was Tina and Artie, with some help from Mike." With that Sam left to go find a drink.

Catching sight of Blaine Sebastian walked over to him with a couple of drinks. "You may not realise it but you have some pretty amazing friends Blaine Anderson." He proceeded to hand him one of the drinks.

"Thanks. I do don't I."

Blaine couldn't believe just how well both is old friends and new friends got along so well with each other. Jeff and Mike had engaged in a friendly dance competition which Brittany ended up joining in on. All of a sudden Katy Perry's Teenage Dream started playing and the warblers automatically started their harmonies while ND started singing.

You think you pretty
Without any make-up on
You think I'm funny
When I tell the punch line wrong
I know you get me
So I'll let my walls come down, down

Before you met me
I was alright
But things were kinda heavy
You brought me to life
Now every February
You'll be my valentine, valentine

Let's go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance until we die
You and I
We'll be young forever

You make me feel like I'm living a, teenage, dream
The way you turn me on
I, can't, sleep
Let's runaway
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

My, heart, stops
When you look at me
Just, one, touch
Now baby I believe
This, is, real
So take a chance
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

We drove to Cali
And got drunk on the beach
Got a motel and
Built a fort out of sheets
I finally found you
My missing puzzle piece
I'm complete

Let's go all the way tonight
No regrets, just love
We can dance until we die
You and I
We'll be young forever

You make me feel like I'm living a, teenage, dream
The way you turn me on
I, can't, sleep
Let's runaway
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

My, heart, stops
When you look at me
Just, one, touch
Now baby I believe
This, is, real
So take a chance
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

I'ma get your heart racing
In my skin-tight jeans
Be your teenage dream tonight

Let you put your hands on me
In my skin-tight jeans
Be your teenage dream tonight

You, make, me feel like I'm living a, teenage, dream
The way you turn me on
I, can't, sleep
Let's runaway
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

My, heart, stops
When you look at me
Just one touch
Now baby I believe
This, is, real
So take a chance
And don't ever look back
Don't ever look back

I'ma get your heart racing
In my skin-tight jeans
Be your teenage dream tonight

Let you put your hands on me
In my skin-tight jeans
Be your teenage dream tonight (tonight, tonight, tonight)

By the end of the song everyone had given up on their parts and were just singing the song. Blaine wondered if this was part of Tina's plan or if it was just spontaneous. He didn't have much time to ponder on his thoughts as Last Friday Night started to play and Sebastian had grabbed his hand and told him to come dance with him.

As he danced with Sebastian Blaine looked around the room and saw that Jeff was now tucked away talking to Quinn while the other Warblers had mingled themselves amongst the ND's. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Tina smile and wink at him as she raised her cup before going back to talking to Trent and Artie.

All in all, Blaine could see things looking up, he knew he still had to address what happened in Sebastian's dorm room with the said Warbler and he still had to do something about Kurt. Tonight, however he was just going to enjoy some time with his friends and worry about his problems tomorrow.

Surprise! I'm back. Chapter is finally finished after 2+ years. I had such bad writers block that I couldn't think anymore, so I apologise for how this chapter ended up, not quite what I had planned. Then last year I meet my partner and life got in the way. Things are good now and thanks to my partner I have got my muse back. This story has another 5 chapters to go (thankfully I had mapped it all out before I started otherwise I would be completely lost), once finished I have 2 sequels planned with 10-12 chapters each.
