Wow. So it's been at least 4 years since I last posted a chapter. :x

I'm really sorry about that.

This isn't abandoned, but uploads will be slow and sporadic.

Anyways, I wrote this on Oct 31, 2018, but never made time to upload it.

This work was inspired by the soulmate AU fics that I've read these past years.

Words

'You kept me waiting, little one.'

Ash traced the words marking her skin. The words her soulmate would say to her upon their first meeting.

Her finger paused on waiting. She wondered what she'd done to make her soulmate say that.

"Hmm…" Her eyes flicked to the ceiling before settling onto her words again. "What will be, will be, I suppose."

With a smile on her lips, she slowly drifted off to sleep. Her last thought was, 'I can't wait until we finally meet…'

'You look more like you're 16 rather than 2000.'

Sylias traced his words and chuckled. Looking at his mate's words always made him chuckle.

He'd admit though, that the first time he saw his words, he felt disappointment. Time meant little to vampires, but even so, waiting 2000 years or so to meet his mate was a test of his slowly diminishing patience.

It didn't stop the excitement building up in him though. He felt that the time of their meeting was drawing close. After all, 2000 years have finally past.

He wondered about his mate, what they were like. A melancholic smile graced his lips as his ruby-like eyes did an once-over sweep on his living room.

It didn't look lived-in at all. It was bare, save for the essentials to entertain any guests that might drop in, just like the rest of the manor.

Perhaps once he meets his mate, the manor would look more like a home. Warmth filled him at the thought of his mate living with him.
