Fragmented Memories

"…lin! Ashlin!" a hand suddenly appeared in front of my face, startling me.

"What the-!" taking a step back and blinking rapidly, I try to calm my nerves down. I exhale before focusing on the person in front of me. Hermione. "Sorry, 'Mione. What were you saying?"

A frown graced her lips and concern filled her eyes and tone. "Are you ok, Ash? You were zoning out for a while now…"

"I…" A pair of sapphire-colored eyes flashed in my mind, making me furrow my eyebrows. 'Whose eyes were those?'

A hand gently settling on my shoulder and a soft "Ashlin" brought me back to the present.

I blinked. "…Sorry, 'Mione. I just… I feel like I'm forgetting something – something important…" 'Or someone.'

"O-oh?" her tone sounded nervous. "I'm sure it's nothing, Ashlin. We should hurry though. The others are waiting for us to start!" with that, she picked up her pace, leaving me behind.

I watched 'Mione disappear around the corner as I stand alone in the corridor. A frown appeared on my lips as I muttered to myself, "Something isn't right… Why can't I remember though..?"

"Ash is mine!" a male voice exclaimed possessively as sapphire-colored eyes flashed ruby-red in anger.

"Mr. Slytherin, you're going to get someone hurt if you keep this up. Perhaps young Ashlin her-" Dumbledore was interrupted by a snarl.

What the hell is that supposed to mean?" now ruby-red eyes glared hatefully at Dumbledore as the male struggled against his restraints, chaining him to the wall. "I'm not in the mood for your games, old man. Let me out of here!"

Dumbledore only released a sad sigh and shook his head. "It seems it's too late now. We're done here." He turned and exited the room, spelling the door shut. He turned his gaze towards Granger and Weasley, ordering, "No one can know about this. Especially young Ashlin. Do everything you can to keep this hidden from her."

"Yes, sir!" they answered in union.
