Justice League headquarters 2025 executive offices
Clark, Lana, Oliver, and Bruce were reviewing the data from the latest cloning facility raid, on the com link was Tess at watchtower and Chloe who was on bed rest expecting their next baby. "Ok what's different from this setup that wasn't present in the last ten we have taken down" asked Bruce.
Chloe spoke up "its kind of scary this is almost the same as every other facility with the exception of some of the router addresses we finally have a couple that we can't account for at long last."
"Does that mean that it could lead us to more facilities" asked Bruce.
"According to the logs they moved a lot of data so I would suspect that its another facility" said Chloe and added "but it could just be a dummy backup site too so don't get all fired up just yet ok."
"Well we've been at this for a few years now I was hoping that this was finally leading somewhere so we can wrap this up and get on with things" said Clark.
"That would be great" said Lana sarcastically. Lana had heard enough it was time to act they finally had something that might actually lead somewhere. Lana added "well boys it sounds like Chloe has some ip's to find and once we have a physical address I think we should hit it fast and hard". "If it's not what we think then ok we look bad in the press for while but if it's what we have been hunting for years now we can finally wrap this all up."
"Every time we got a handle on this Mr. Green he just seems to evaporate every time, leaving us looking at smoke and vapors" said Chloe. "Lana's right boys this one has to be hard and fast I just have to be very sneaky tracing this one to a physical address."
"Tess" said Oliver "your mighty quiet today what are your thoughts?"
"Just be careful this has all the hallmarks of a trap."
"Point taken" said Bruce.
Oliver looked at Bruce "sounds like we have a action plan so then meeting adjourned" he asked?
"Meeting adjourned" was the reply.
Sherwood that evening
Chloe sat staring at her screen the ip traced to a remote location in the Canadian wilderness. This made no logical sense at all how could this trace to some island in the Arctic sea. Chloe found the island had no population and it was part of a marine sanctuary how strange. Prince Patrick Island was the location of the ip's location as far as Chloe could find there was no human activity at all ever on this Canadian island. It was discovered in the 1700's by fur trappers and not much has been said or written about it. Chloe took control of a couple of the Queen Industries satellites re-tasking them to take detailed passive scans of the island and its shoreline she set up scans from infrared to X ray frequencies if there was anything there she was going to find out what it was.
She sat back wondering what might be in the Arctic sea on a island never populated or visited even by the local Eskimo population. Chloe looked up all the information she could find about the island, no minerals of interest, no wildlife of any great interest, most of the year the island was buried under ice and snow and the fact it was inside the Arctic circle made it a very cold place at best. Chloe was having a hard time believing that anything was on this island and the address chase she had performed was a bogus result. The interesting fact was that all the other islands had polar bear population the exception was Prince Patrick Island, that was strange there should have been some kind of wildlife on that island it was like something kept the wildlife away from the island.
Chloe absently minded scratched her very pregnant tummy something just isn't right about this place but I can't figure it out, maybe once I have the scans in hand something will jump off that page at me she thought. Chloe thought might as well get a snack of some kind while I'm waiting on the scans, she arose from the bed and headed down stairs to the kitchen for a snack.
Several hours later her laptop finally pinged the scans were finally done. Chloe had been having trouble sleeping with this pregnancy for some reason so anytime she fell asleep she did but that led to many sleepless nights, to give Oliver a break she would slip out of bed and go to her home office and lay down on the couch there.
She noticed her computer has completed the satellite scan she opened the file and started reviewing the scan data. Everything was looking very normal nothing stood out about this place so far it wasn't until she got to the x ray scans that something out of the ordinary showed up. There it was a diamond shape in what looked like a cave from the scan pictures. Chloe smiled to herself "I got you," there is a kryptonian ship hidden in that cave system. Chloe picked up her phone not caring what the time was because this was huge, beyond huge actually.
Lana's cell phone started to ring it was 3:34 am she wasn't due to get out of bed for another 4 hours, who the hell was calling her at this hour, she picked up the phone thinking it must be the hospital with a emergency case that needed her talents to save another soul. Her heart rate started to race when she saw the caller was Chloe, "Oh my God Chloe are you alright" she answered her phone.
"Good morning to you too Lana" Chloe said.
"Something wrong" asked Lana.
Chloe said "not wrong it very much right Lana".
"Ok I give, I'm tired and my brain must not be working to well if your ok why did you call me at 3:30 in the morning, I hope not to have a girl talk" said a tired Lana.
"Ok then I'll cut to the chase I found the ip address physical location". "It looks like a kryptonian ship Lana at least that's the shape of the outline, I didn't use any active scanning technology just passive I didn't want to tip off anyone we knew the location."
Lana rubbed her eyes laying in bed with the phone to her ear. A lot of thoughts were running through her head, she decided she had to see the data herself. Lana slipped from the sheets changing into Nocturne in a flash, scribbled a fast note for Clark and slipped out the bedroom french doors to the cool night air flying very fast to Sherwood the Queen estate north of Metropolis. Lana was knocking on the office balcony doors in seconds. "Chloe its me, please open the doors." Lana watched a very pregnant Chloe struggle to get off the couch to open the doors for her long time friend. Lana entered as Chloe shut the doors she said "show me the data please."
Chloe just smiled ear to ear "your going to love this" as both women sat looking over the data on her laptop. At first they quietly talked that gave way to high schoolish chatter in no time it was loud squeal, too loud oh my God's being bantered about.
Finally Oliver came stumbling down the hall expecting to see his wife in labor or something. "Baby" he said as he opened the office door. "Oh Lana what the heck are you doing here in the middle of the early morning."
"Chloe called me a while ago she got data finally and a location for that ip address we have been hunting or should I say she has been hunting."
"The thing were excited about Ollie is it's a kryptonian ship" said Chloe.
"Huh" said Oliver "it's a what ship?"
"Kryptonian ship at least that what we both think without a active scan" said Lana.
"Here let me enter the code for a active scan then and we can go back to bed" yawned Oliver.
"Hold on there Green Arrow we can't do that whoever has that ship knows that if we have knowledge of its location we tip our hand we might be chasing this thing forever."
"I see your point" said Oliver "so what next then."
"I think we need to sneak up on this island and see if we can get a visual confirmation that it is and what it looks like."
"We need to have a meeting about this Lana, Clark, and Kara would kill me if I let you go off on your own to investigate this led."
"Clark is on patrol till dawn I think I'll go and join him for a while it's not like I could get back to sleep with this information rattling around in my head".
"I'll call Bruce after lunch so the guy can get some sleep before we drop this on him maybe a meeting at Justice League HQ later tonight then" asked Oliver?
"Sounds like a plan" as Lana rose into the air and floated out the balcony doors to the still night sky.
"Man I so wish I could fly" said Chloe "that looks so cool when Lana does it, its hard to remember sometimes we were roommates in high school and College for a while and she used to be a regular girl too, boy that all seems like such a long time ago now."
Oliver patted Chloe's shoulder and turned her to face him "your my super girl you know."
"Awe Oliver you say the sweetest things" she gave her husband a short kiss.
Minutes later Lana was hovering over Metropolis looking for her husbands current location, in the distance she saw him with his red cap flapping in the wind on the Daily Planet building. She quietly landed beside him not wanting to disturb his thoughts Lana kissed Clarks cheek "good morning my love."
Clark just about jumped off the Daily Planet building he was surprised by Lana being beside him. "What are you doing here, not that I'm complaining or anything but you startled me for a moment." "I thought Lois Lane was back here again and she crept up on me."
Humm sounds like I need to give someone a bad hair month a little spell will take care of Lois Lane" said a visibly pissed off Lana.
"Baby it was a thought she never did anything like that just a nasty thought forgive me please?"
"How could I not Clark." He closed in for a much more intimate kiss from his wife. "We can't do this once the sun comes up somebody might see us up here and get the idea were a couple."
"Sometimes I just want to shout to the world that Superman is my husband."
"Just like I want all the women in the world to know Superman belongs to Nocturne, Lana." They kissed again and again. They came up for air finally, Clark is lost in Lanas eyes "um, I want to go home right now and make love to my wife but I'm on patrol until the sun comes up."
"Well, I can help you patrol you know" Lana gave Clark her sexiest smile. They took to the air together scanning the ground for trouble spots.
Lana points to the ground Clark see her hand signal and they both descend landing very quietly slightly behind a criminal who is trying to rob a couple on their way to work. "Give me her purse and your wallet and do it now." The couple stared at both Superman and Nocturne.
Lana speaks up "you know its not nice to steal from other people not to mention its very bad manors pointing a gun at someone."
"Aw shut up and hand over your purse too lady." Lana looks to Clark "hear that, he wants my purse." "Sorry I don't have it on me."
He turns to look at the new arrivals to see Nocturne and Superman behind him the crook gulps "um um" and takes off running. Lana casts a spell and the crook is floating in the air unable to control where he was going.
"Damn it" he takes his gun and aims at the first couple and fires the whole clip at them Clark and Lana superspeed in front of the scared couple.
Lana flies up to the gunman and takes the gun from him, "no more chances for you straight to jail with you, robbery and now attempted murder you are going away for a very long time." " We'll see if we can get you in with Bubba for a cellmate I'm sure he'll be happy to see you back."
Lana tapped him on the forehead and he was out, the couple was staring in disbelief that both Superman and Nocturne were in front of them. The man shook both heroes hands "thank you so much for saving us from him, I thought it was going to be the end." "We are happy you saved us you two should work together more often you make a nice looking couple."
Lana smiled at Clark told you see even they see it. "Thanks but were not a couple please remember to go to the police station and fill out a report they will hold him but they need your eyewitness statement to put him behind bars for a long time." Both Lana and Clark rose into the air with the criminal in tow, "remember to file the police report" as they flew out of sight to the nearest police station to drop off their charge.
JL HQ three days later
This was the biggest meeting to date of the full justice league, everyone was there. This was going to be the biggest operation they have ever tried. The ship didn't respond to any queries from the fortress.
Jor El's answer was that the ship is out of power or shut down those would be the only reasons for the responses they got at the fortress. Clark, Lana, and Kara looked over all the data at the fortress it told the story Jor El had said there wasn't any type of response from any kryptonian technology on earth at least the technology they knew about.
The ship was a mystery it shouldn't be there but somehow it was. Kara had experience flying this type of ship the model that brought her to earth was very similar to this one. The plan was to capture the ship and remove it to the fortress installing it in a magnetic confinement field until they can safely open the ship and determine if it is a threat or not. If worse comes to worse the other plan was to allow the ship to self destruct in orbit hopefully fooling the scanning sensors that monitor the upper atmosphere hopefully it will look like a exploding meteorite there had been quite a few in the last few years.
The biggest fear was this was some kind of Trojan horse to gain access to the fortress trying to take it over again just like Brainiac did a few years ago. This time that wouldn't be possible the eradicator program was purged and there was a new crystal interface that had to have Clark, Lana's, or Kara's living DNA to operate anything at the fortress. If someone tried to force their way into the fortress and take control they were phase shifted so their molecules were no longer in phase with normal mater making it impossible to touch anything until they were shifted back. It would be like being a living walking ghost you would be able to see the normal matter of the world just unable to interact with anything of the worlds normal matter.
Oliver called the meeting to order "today boys and girls we are going to plan out an attack on an installation we know very little about." "It is suspected that this could be a ancient Kryptonian stash but it could be something much more oblivious." So Bruce started to say something but quieted down.
Arthur stood up "I think we should approach from the ocean it will give us the fastest path there." "We can hid ourselves as biological's, it will allows us to get very close and we can come on to the island from the beach." "It would allow us to exit if we detect something that is a danger to the entry team as well we can have several people on standby hidden in with the remaining biological's."
"Thanks that's one idea" said Oliver. "Next" he asked?
Bruce stood this time "how about a halo jump, whoever is on that Island would have no time to react to our presence."
"What happens if it is a kryptonian site and it has a energy dome we would bounce right off it or go splat against the field."
"Hum good point, more idea" asked Oliver?
"I like the ocean approach" said Kara "but what kind of biological's would we be imitating."
Arthur answered "either sea lions or a pod of killer whales." "The Killer whales might be the best bet but it depends on the ice pack they breath air so staying underwater for a long time would be a dead give away."
"Ok something to consider" said Oliver.
"Ok next idea."
"We could just fly in and land looking like Arctic explorers it might get us on the island."
Clark spoke up "and it might destroy anything that looked like it was landing, if this a kryptonian base of any kind I would expect bobby traps."
"Thanks" said Oliver.
"Well anymore ideas" asked Oliver?
"What about snowmobiles across the ice pack we could get in fast and out fast too if needed."
Bruce stood again "Oliver and I have a project we have been working on for the navy it's a super-sub it can go 10000 feet deep and it's also very fast under water it can reach 80 knots on the surface." "It also has three special aircraft they look a lot like some of my batman craft." "It needs a crew of 35 to run it but it can carry 180 navy seals with all their gear."
Several whistles are heard in the room, Oliver looks at Bruce "well that is if we can get it out of the top secret sub base where its stored at the moment." "Come on Oliver all we have to do is say the magic word upgrade to the Navy they will let us move it back to our shipyard in Washington for any work we what to do remember they haven't paid for the damn thing yet so it still is ours until they cut a check to pay for it."
"Now that you mention it your right so we have another way to get a lot of people on that island fast do you remember those hovercraft we built for the marines?"
"They were deadly no matter what surface they were on how could I forget."
Oliver groaned "yea we built them their toy and they decided it worked all too well did we ever get paid for them?"
"I don't know but I know they are in our shipyard in Washington just sitting there Oliver."
"Ok then we have a lot to talk about."
"Hold on Oliver tell them the rest."
It's not just a badass landing craft but a small fleet of landing and assault ships."
Mummers are heard around the room until Bart burst out with "dudes it's like our own navy", everyone laughed at that. The meeting went on for some time.
Lana had been watching the boys talk back and forth it sounded to her like I have the bigger toy discussion.
She looked at Kara "I have a question are we going to take and hold the island or are we planning a fast operation with retreating from the island with anything we find there?"
Kara smiled "I agree with Lana what if there is a lot of stuff we need to take away with us when we leave the island."
"Well that's something" said Oliver.
"What does that mean" Lana asked Oliver?
"uh we didn't think about that he admits sheepishly."
Well it's something we need to be prepared to deal with" insisted Lana, Kara nodded along side her.
Clark stood "I have a thought let's break this meeting up and reassign elements of the plan to sub teams and then get back together to review the plans afterwards".
"That's a great plan honey" said Lana smiling at her husband.
The plans were drawn into three phases ingress, egress, and extraction elements. The teams were divided up and assigned to each task subset. The objective was to present a complete plan on each phase the group task was to match up the plans together. The meeting adjourned for the moment.
