Clark and Lana both took the ship to the fortress Jor El's enemy detector picked up on the Zod ship and placed it in a containment field as soon as Lana and Clark entered the fortress he briefly placed them also in a field to determine if they had been skin jacked. After he determined Clark and Lana were ok, Lana filled Jor El in on what they found Jor El insisted they bring the crystal contained Brainiac to the fortress to see if he could undo what Zod did to his programming, Lana said he was in a magnetic field for the moment and presented no threat there was high voltage shield and another stronger magnetic field if brainiac tried to cross any of the fields the probe would be destroyed and it would also wipe the nanites completely.

Jor El relented for the moment they really need to get into the ship and decode all the data crystals. Jor El warned them both to not come into contact with any of the items there might be more traps like the sliver of Brainiac that made Clark act crazy and made Lana sick and shut her out of the world leaving her in horrific pain for weeks. They both remembered the events neither wanted to revisit the experiences.

Clark left the ship folded up on a isolated bench similar to what they set up for the crystals. Jor El said he would start working on cracking the ships control system to gain access, he told them the ship had no detectable life forms. There were what registered as mites and some forms of microscopic life but no kryptonian or earth type life. They left the fortress and headed home, the naval ships were returned to their test bed ports with a pass from the builder stating the ships passed their sea operation trials.

Several weeks from now the Navy would run their sea acceptance trails with a half navy and civilian crew the ships final shake down prior to acceptance by the department of defense. Oliver hoped they missed the few new scratches and dings from them using the ships he didn't feel too bad selling the Navy a slightly used ship, Henry Kaiser did it all the time during world war two he even sold them a ship that had been dropped from the derrick in the shipyard.

Lana followed up Kara's care in Smallville at the new wing of the Smallville medical center it was publicly called advance medicine recovery center but it was the recovery home for all the superheros in the justice league all the better that a kryptonian was the first patient. Oliver's research doctors were on staff, Lana felt so much better knowing that the procedures worked so if she or Clark were injured they would be able to get medical help outside the fortress.

Kara got better every day the artificial light seemed to help a lot Lana played around with the fine tuning of the light spectrum and it worked even better for Kara. Clark was happy to see that Kara was getting better he decided they were going to have to make some kind of breath filter that would be specific for kryptonite if they could filter it out it would save them weeks of recovery in the hospital.

This was new project it had to be part of their suits so anytime they phased into their suits the filter would be in place protecting them. Clark had talked to Lana a couple of times his old fears were returning he felt that they were operating under a false assumption that they were invincible Kara being in the hospital just illustrated his point. Lana thought Clark had a point but thought he was falling into his old fears again she didn't think it was a bad thing just something she didn't see as big as he did apparently. Clark just felt that they had a weakness someone could exploit against them leaving them defenseless, a couple of times he had experienced just that and he was unwilling to risk his family to a weakness.

The funny thing was that a lot of Kara supermodel friends came to Smallville to visit their girlfriend. There were more car accidents and twisted neck injuries that month than there had ever been. Seems supermodels walking out of the Talon was the cause. Lana busted up laughing when the sheriff asked Lana to have the supermodels leave from the flower store entrance instead of the front he had two officers stationed downtown just to deal with the supermodel caused fender benders.

Lana laughed she told the sheriff she would have to talk to the Senator because she owned the building and the Talon now, not Lana. The sheriff still asked her to talk to the manger she said she would call the Senator but didn't want to get on her bad side. Lana laughed again she said they were having a similar issue with male orderlies at the hospital there were a lot more patient accidents in the last couple of weeks. Clark, Lana, and Kara all had a good laugh over the sheriff's visitation.

Kent Ranch two weeks later

Clark sat in his home office staring at the display screen he was waiting on Oliver and Bruce they had finally gotten through the documents and the computer's they found on the Prince Patrick Island. Jor El had limited success with the ship he ran into multiple levels of encryption it was just going to take time to gain entry to the ship. Jor El, Kara, Clark and Lana had a discussion about the ship they decided to have Jor El keep at trying to access the ship and gain them entry without setting the destruction sequence off.

Kara's comment about it being a Zod ship was proven true once Jor El saw the ship it would be hard to get inside and it would take a long time as well. The frozen people turned out to both be brainiac copies according to Jor El, Jor El was not willing to access any of the crystals. They might contain a Brianiac virus the risk of infection was to great until a secure stasis chamber could be built they were to remain in the crystal.

Lana agreeded with Jor El, the risk was too high Clark listened this time seeing Lana's experience of being at the wrath of a manic computer program. The Justice League agreed with Lana and Clark it was too much of a risk until the ship could be opened and more could be learned about Jor El's corrupted constructs they were to remain in a stasis beam in the fortress.

Clark sat in his office sifting through his thoughts, "Clark were sorry were so late". Clark decided to let it slide he was far more interested in the information Oliver had for him "ok so what is the first cut on the records we found".

"Your not going to like this, and you need to tell Lana." "Clark we found that just before Brainiac tried to take control of Chloe, her ability crippled him." "Then you caught up with him trying to recharge himself when you destroyed him." "We discovered the program had already split itself in many copies before that." "We think there were over thirty copies at that time but due to Chloe's ability to heal she did something that spread to all the copies blocking then from being able to merge and change shape they were stuck in what ever form they happened to be in at the time."

"Their abilities have weakened greatly because of it as well" said Bruce. "The copies can't use any of the powers they have shown, nor can they work collectedly like they have in the past.

Clark sat there for a moment adsorbing the information "well then are they still a threat?"

"More so now they are trying to do two things they are trying to fix themselves and they are working on a clone project we suspect that they are trying to create a Lex body for Zod to inhabit".

"What" said Clark "they are still trying to bring Zod back?"

"Clark they never gave up what we didn't know is there were so many of them." "Even without their powers they are still advanced computer programs and dangerous." "They seem to be carrying out their primary instructions to bring Zod out of the zone by any means possible." "One of the devices we found seems to be a communication device from what Bruce's scientists can tell its some kind of trans dimensional device." Clark could feel the chills forming on his neck and back as he heard this news.

"Can I come and get the device Jor El will be able to tell us what it is and does".

"Sure Clark but there is more Bruce said we found out from the computer records that they have been using teams of researchers from all over the world." "The trail is a long list of dead people it seems whatever the goals were for a specific teams were once they were reached the team was killed off and the building was burnt to the ground."

"So no record exist of the work they were doing asked Clark?"

"We found records off all their work they seem to be building a copy part by part of Lex but they are planning on having Zod inhabit the body after they freed him from your Phantom Zone Clark." "The body part are just coded DNA material at the moment but it isn't normal human DNA."

"The DNA looks like its had a couple of things mixed into it from what our teams can tell us" said Bruce.

"Well that just doesn't sound good" said Clark. A flash of purple white light was seen behind Clark as Lana appeared in her hospital scrubs "Clark whats going on I can feel your mood falling whats going on baby" as she reached for her husband.

Clark sighed "it seems that brainac is still around there are over thirty of them and they were crippled by Chloe's healing ability, the worst part is they seem to be working on creating a physical body for Zod or are maybe cloning Lex again."

Clark looked at the screen "do you guys have any good news he asked?"

"Oh hi Lana" said both Bruce and Oliver "nice to see you."

"Hi guys, so is there any good news at all?"

"Yes actually we have found hidden funding from the Luthor's which seeing we merged Luthor corp to our companies a while ago we going after that money and then were going to do a trace to see where the money goes to and from."

"We know the remaining copies of brainac are frozen in their current forms so we can now hunt them down and capture them we can hold them in strong magnetic fields as long as needed they go inert as Clark saw with high voltage and them a strong magnetic field and it keeps them inactive so we can at least capture them."

"Guys" Lana asked "they are computer programs and smart ones too can't they hack into any banking system and create what ever wealth they want?"

Both of the boys looked stunned at that though "um that's something we hadn't thought much about."

Clark smiled at Lana "that's my beautiful wife guys and she has proven her intellect many times over too."

"Can't doubt that Clark Lana is the head of Surgery at Smallville hospital now days."

"Yea she sure is" as he kiss Lana. Lana smiled at all of them but held Clarks gaze for a moment too long "hey you two lets get back to the meeting."

"The most interesting thing we found was the research notes, seems the frozen brainiac see's himself as a oracle of Zod they have been working on several plans to release Zod from the zone."

"Then we found out that they have been behind the clone ships we even found the last of those ships" said Bruce.

"We think that we have seen the last of them, the only bright spot is brainiac can no longer communicate with Zod" added Oliver.

"The communication device we found was the only one he had." "Zod is isolated and no longer able to talk or issue orders to his minions" Bruce added.

Clark had a idea Lana felt the smile before it was on Clarks face. "I have a idea to piss off Zod."

"Oh what's that" asked Oliver.

"I'll let him know we have taken down the last of his minions and he will remain in the zone forever."

"What will that do" asked Bruce.

"One it will piss him off and secondly the son of his greatest enemy telling him he's never getting out will break his spirit."

"That will be the killing blow, hopefully his followers will turn on him knowing Zod offers hollow promises and one of them will destroy Zod's spirit form and we never have to face that threat again" said Lana.

"Clark we haven't taken them all down yet" said Bruce.

"That's the simplicity behind this plan, we have the only device to talk to him, he'll never know what the truth is and well how can you dispute a claim like that when your source of information is unavailable anymore."

"I think I get it I like it Clark, that's a great idea it will have all his followers at his throat in no time" smiled Oliver.

"I will have to make the call from the fortress so Jor El can add his condemnation as well." "That should turn any remaining Kryptonian soldiers Zod has against him." "Then whatever happens in the phantom zone stays in the phantom zone" smiled Clark.

Lana looked at her husband "I like your idea when did you get so sneaky and underhanded" she asked?

Clark smiled "remember I did learn a thing or too from my one time friend Lex he was the master at turning the screws and making someone hurt what I'm suggesting is a small part of the pain Lex would have dish out."

"Well I like it too if this will break the spirit of his followers then all the better" said Bruce. "I'll have the device at my estate tonight Clark can you and Lana come over to collect it and maybe visit for a little bit" asked Bruce?

"Sure" said Lana "were not bring the kids however it would mess with their schedules a little too much."

"What about the rest" asked Lana?

"Well we have a handle on the money train were going to be on the look out with facial recognition software to find the remaining brainiac copies were going to have to develop a weapon to take one of him down."

"Thinking about all this it seems to me that we need some kind of system to detect them do you have a way to hide pattern recognition software in the security scanners you have at the airports?" "If we could load Brainiac's facial pattern we might get hits on where he's operating from and maybe be able to trace him from there said Clark."

"That's a great idea what about using the knowledge you have at the fortress to create a detector and tracking device" said Oliver.

"Boys" said Lana "both are great ideas we should put them in place as soon as possible."

"I have some work to do at the fortress as well I need to create a long term holding system for it as well" said Clark. "The holding system will have to be created and a final destruction of the program will have to be done as well we don't want to leave something like that waiting around for our ancestors to have to deal with."

Lana got up off Clarks lap after breaking her kiss "I have to go back to work boys have fun" she smiled as she disappeared in a flash of purple white light.

2028 Kent Ranch Spring Time

Oliver and Bruce sat on Clarks couch in his office up stairs "well guys it looks like were finally ready to release this generator to the world just think after all this time the earth will be getting new technology and power to go with it."

"How many generator are going on line in the morning asked Clark?"

Bruce spoke up "according to the latest plan 21 on the west coast and then 12 on the east coast the Chicago power center goes on line next year."

"That's going to be the end of coal and gas fired power generators they will remain in place until we prove to everyone that the generators can handle the power load and demand."

Clark smiled "its been a long time getting here this is the first step turning the pollution machine that was coal off and getting green house gas emissions under control." The last twenty years had seen huge blooms of jelly fish in the oceans, that not being a big enough problem for shipping but the jellies left a sterile sea behind them wherever they drifted that area was devoid of any sea life for a while.

Getting the heat pollution under control will bring the sea temperatures back in line and reduce the jelly fish populations world wide. According to Jor El it will take almost 25 years to return to a 1970 sea temperatures hopefully seal life will rebound with the decrease of the jelly problem. Jor El also hinted at several other weather issues would reverse as well but that might take over 100 years to happen.

Bruce had just asked Clark a question he had been lost in his own thoughts "I'm sorry Bruce I zoned out there for a moment what were you saying?"

"Clark" he said "I was saying what a great thing these new generators are, almost no pollution and for the size of the facility its amazing the amount of power the US will be getting."

Oliver smiled "yea just think when the first European power centers start to come on line and then the Middle East and Africa, but China will be coming online next they are the biggest polluter in the world right now so giving them clean power will be a step in the right direction."

"So whats next Clark you have shown us the prototype Ion drive ship when can we introduce that to the world Clark." Both Bruce and Oliver wanted to make it a product right now but Clark was holding back for a while still.

"Guys I think I'll be done with it in about 10 more years, before you start we need to have a destination or its just cool technology with no legitimate use." "Someone will militarize it and you will have ion powered war craft in no time." "We can't let that happen, this will be a tool for mankind to explore our solar system not a tool to make war." Both men sat back and nodded their heads. Clark smiled he had to remind them from time to time that the technology he was giving them came with a price it was that the products couldn't be made into war machines.

Mankind had faced a few food issues in the last 10 years but they were heading into a period of world wide prosperity and soon to be abundant sea life again. There were several companies cleaning up prior generations uses of fossil fuels and they had created a good market for themselves Wayne and Queen Industries both had environmental arms but they were small compared to other companies.

L3 was going to be complete this year several companies had already taken occupancy and they had modified the original structure a couple of times already to add more space. Soon Oliver could see missions to mine asteroids and bring them back to lunar orbit for processing . Once a rock was selected it was directed into a near earth orbit with a trip thru earth upper atmosphere to slow the asteroids down so it could be captured by a moon capture team and either brought to the surface of the moon or to be parked in orbit.

This would be the start of heavy moon based manufacturing so far the products being shipped back to mother earth were pharmaceuticals and metal alloys that couldn't be made in the gravity well. Clark had already identified several asteroids that he wanted for his purposes he and Lana left earth a while ago to move them out of their current orbits placing them at the outer edge of the Oort cloud where for now they would be safe until they were ready to use the elements they needed to produce more crystals and materials they would need for Kryptonian technology.

Jor El was always scanning for more material that they would need and observing their materials were safe. Clark knew at some point that that technology would be needed to protect earth from advanced space faring races. Clark as Superman and Lana as Nocturne would scare most space faring races off but some wouldn't be stopped just slowed down for a while that's why Clark wanted Kryptonian technology would make them run and pass the word along Sol was not to be trifled with ever. Just the thought made Clark smile.

"Ok Clark what the hell are you smiling about now" asked Bruce.

"Just thinking about the future guys just the future."

They left Clarks office stepping through the new portal Clark installed in his office that would take them to the new lab under the barn. The lab was 2000ft down, when they were searching for a place to build the lab they found a natural cavern at that depth. They were happy too find such a huge space that deep and quickly went about using their abilities to modify the space to suit their needs.

A golden light enveloped them soon Bruce was watching as they seemed to pass blue lighted walls and then they were there. Portal travel was old hack for Oliver but this was Bruce first trip he was floored that's way better than than my bat pole in the mansion.

"I want one" said Bruce.

Both Clark and Oliver said "maybe if your a real good boy Santa will give you one", Bruce was going to say something but thought better of it.

Lana was waiting for them today was her show. She was finally done with her anti mitosis drug research. Lana came over giving Oliver and Bruce a kiss on the cheek and a hug to greet them. "Hi guys glad you could come over today, I'm mostly done with the trials its time to move to human testing" she proudly smiled.

Oliver smiled "yea were ready to see what you have Lana please tell us what going on."

"I have been working on this medication for almost ten years now." "I started with small segmented worms to study the concept I had years of failures I almost got to the point of thinking it wasn't something that could be done." "Then one of my worms out lived the others by weeks in human terms it would equate to 100 years to the normal life span." "This led to an in depth study of its DNA, I found a specific chromosome that was turned on and it wasn't present in the other worms."

"Then I tackled how to turn this specific gene on and discovered the RNA sequence that allows the gene to do its work." "This lead to the creation of a synthetic trigger to turn on this gene." "Later generations of these worms started to show longer and longer life cycles until they were living the human equivalent of almost 500 years." "I have been testing and testing, I'm satisfied that this is stable so the next step is human trials."

"Now the benefits of this drug isn't only a longer life time but it has regenerative and restorative properties as well." Both Bruce and Oliver really started to pay attention. "With human trial it has promise to return most people to about a chronological age of 25 - 30 years old."

"Now before I get your approval you need to know that this might not work for everyone that's one of the many reasons I want to do human trials but we need to keep this under wraps and off everyone's radar." "This has a huge potential for abuse in the wrong hands." "There are enough bad people who would pervert this drug and its applications."

"This has to be done on a large scale and in a secure place where no one can get to the raw drug, patients, or the results." "The lab we have would work but there is a security issue with Clarks research and ongoing projects." "So the first thing is a secure location second, patients, and then researchers to run the testing trials."

Bruce and Oliver both looked at each other and said "the moon base would be perfect for this, the patients would be transported up and then have to live in a low gravity environment." "How long would the trial have to run" asked Bruce? "Lets call it 10 years for the test trial certification and the follow up and then production." "Well we can live with that I think, can any Justice League member who needed the restorative properties get included in the trial on a separate track" asked Oliver? "I think that's workable" said Lana, "but I have a condition" said Lana.

Bruce finally said "and that is?"

"I want it given to whoever wants the drug, free."

Both Bruce and Oliver stopped breathing for a moment or two "you want what" they both asked?

"I want it given free to the entire planet."

"Lana I just don't know about that" said Oliver looking to Bruce for agreement. Bruce looked at Clark this was something outside of the agreement they had with him about advanced technology, there has to be something for everyone in this discovery he thought.

"I agree with Oliver but there has to be something for everyone in your work Lana."

Lana smiled at Bruce's words at least it wasn't a outright hell no answer.

"What are the material costs like" asked Bruce.

"The chemical costs are fairly low the expense will be ramping up for mass production" said Lana.

"What kind of costs" questioned Oliver?

"Well there is going to be expense's for the facility and security like we have never seen before this has to have the tightest security." "Also its going to need a fairly large staff and it will need compartmentalization too so it wont get into the wrong hands." "The big thing is that this will change the world forever if people live 500 to a thousand years their goals and expectations will change."

"The needs of the population will change as they realize that they have time and time in good health to live their lives." "I can see many things changing like the accumulation of money I expect that to be the first thing to change." "Families will be bigger and they will have a longer shadow they will be a force in the way people think because they will all live longer a lot longer."

"The biggest thing is people will have time to do the things they wanted to do but never had the time to tackle." "The restorative elements of this drug alone are going to change the way people act on the outset never mind the fact they will live a lot longer." "Can you imagine having a family with your great great grandfather still alive and a active family member the experiences and the knowledge shared."

"This will change the planet Oliver this will change the human race and in a good way crime will become less attractive based on incarceration and the impact of being in a prison, just the fact they will be denied the drug will drive the crime rate down."

"Lana that's a lot of good thoughts so far but not enough to say yes yet."

"Oliver this will change the world forever no more strife about earning enough to get by for your family when you have hundreds of years to accomplish your goals no more 10 or 20 years to make a lifetime, it will become a century to figure out what you want and a couple more to get done what you want." "Their are so many things that will change to even begin to think about the full scope of what this could mean."

"I don't know Lana" insisted Oliver "this just might be the biggest can of worms ever opened."

"Oliver are you saying this is Pandora's box?"

"No, well maybe, I'm not sure." "What about people who don't want the current system to change oh, like the crime lords."

Lana was getting mad "Oliver Queen pull your head out of your ass this is a change for the good of the world not a misstep why won't you look at in a positive light or are you one of the people who doesn't want a change for the better I bet Chloe will be all over you about this."

"Hold on there who said Chloe is getting involved."

"Why wouldn't you want her involved Oliver you want the drug for the league but what about your wife, don't tell me your not going to let her have the drug too." Bruce's and Clarks eyes both opened at that statement from Lana.

Oliver just sat there fuming "fine" he said "I'll support the drug trials but on the moon and the league, we have to keep this secret everyone involved in this project will be on the moon." "This is going to set up a sea of change like no other Lana, don't be surprised if a war starts over this." "The crime lords would kill a lot of people to get their hands on your drug, security is going to have to be tight."

"Remember this drug will be giving people life not money or wealth that why I want it to be given free to who ever wants the drug" said a confused Lana. "The drug being free should wipe out any war thoughts from leadership of most country's."

"That could be true but what about the ones who like the old ways like the crime bosses they wont want any change snarled Oliver."

"Hold on you two if getting older becomes something the average person no longer deals with a lot of things will change" said Bruce.

"People will start to think long term not like 10 years in advance but 40 to 100 years in advance family will be around a lot longer investments wont be today's turn and burn money won't be the only thing people accumulate wealth wont be the only driving factor any more said Lana." "Basic human necessities will became more common place the overall pace of life will slow down."

"Many things about today's world will change guys like way too many things to think about." "The biggest change will be in health care there will be less demand on hospitals." "Because of this drug all sorts human disease will become a thing of the past, and I think and the population will be generally healthier." Lana said, "I want to give this drug to the world as a gift to my fellow human beings."

Oliver started to laugh "your fellow human beings, really Lana, your kryptonian just like your husband" said Oliver.

Bruce cut the conversation off "stop it Oliver we don't need this."

Oliver nodded his head. "We both need to think about this Lana you brought up a lot of solid points" said Bruce

"Thanks Bruce, that's all I can ask you for guys." They left the kryptonian cave of wonders shortly there after returning to Clark's office at the ranch.

The cave of wonders (Clarks Lab)

Lana sat on her stool she was mad there was no reason for Oliver to treat her like he just did Lana wanted to talk to Chloe to find out what his problem was but decided to let it go for now she would talk with Chloe later this week once she had a chance to calm down.

The part that hurt the most was Oliver ripping into her about no longer being human she couldn't figure out what his problem was, Bruce certainly didn't have a problem. Arrrhug it was frustrating and not something to be solved soon. Lana decided she needed a break she told Clark telepathically she was going to visit Zantana and see how she was doing with the pregnancy. Clark told Lana to give them both his best wishes he would try to figure out what Oliver's problem was with Lana's work or research.

Lana disappeared in a flash of purple white light and was in a suburban home outside Atlanta unfortunately no one was home. Lana placed a tracing spell and she could feel the pull of Zantana's chi into the magic dimension. Lana followed to Castle Zatara she found her friend napping in the highest watch tower. "Zee time to wake up, you have a visitor."

"Uh, Lana?"

"Yea its me how is the pregnancy treating you, are you ok?"

"I'm so tired of being pregnant how do you keep doing it Lana, you have what 10 children with Clark now?"

"Actually its 11 and I just figured out I'm pregnant again so the Kent family is going to be a even dozen soon."

"How do you do it Lana and you keep a full time medical practice too, oh man I can't imagine how you get through the day?"

"Well its helps a lot with the kryptonian physiology I heal in a hour its like I was never pregnant in the first place and the recovery I just go back to my normal size in no time." "As long as I'm exposed to the yellow sun I recover fast if it wasn't for the sun I imagine it would be more like a normal pregnancy." "I'm lucky too because I just don't get morning sickness after the first baby it never happened again."

"You're so lucky Lana I hate my morning sickness it's the reason I spend so much time here in the magic dimension is so I won't feel all the effects of being knocked up."

"Zee that's so bad, I feel sorry for you some women just have a easier time of being pregnant." "Well how are you doing you're getting close right?"

"Yea any day now hey I have someone you have to meet he's a historical figure and he's been here forever I just found him in this dimension he's also has some information for you and Clark too about your future."

"Who is this mystery person Zantana?"

"I want you to meet him in person lets go to the middle earth village he keeps a house there." Both women join hands and disappear if a flash of light.
