The door is open, what will you do?
"I-I don't know...what does this all mean?" Mitsu asked quietly.
You must do something or all is lost…
"I—" Mitsu began.
"Eh? Who is she?"
"I don't know. She just appeared out of nowhere,"
"Yeah, I'm sure because people just don't come out of nowhere, Yue,"
"You say that as if you're a specialist on what's going on in the world. A portal opened and she came crashing out of it," the one called Yue replied firmly.
At that moment Mitsu groaned and stirred from her forced slumber, the group of people that surrounded her stepped back to give her room to breathe.
"She's waking up,"
"About time…she can get off my floor,"
Mitsu's eyes fluttered open, instead of Riku or others she was greeted by two unknown people.
"W-Where am I? Who are you people?" Mitsu murmured as she sat up.
"The name's Cid…and you are on the floor. In my shop," Cid a middle-aged, top-heavy blond hair blue eyed scruffy man replied with a gruff voice. Mitsu glanced towards the auburn-haired man.
"Yue," the tall young man replied.
"and you have crashed landed in Traverse Town…in my store…on my floor," Cid repeated as he looked at her bitterly. Mitsu looked between the two men and then to her surroundings, this was indeed not Destiny Island and Riku was nowhere to be found.
"Wait…what? Traverse Town?" Mitsu asked as she looked at the man named Cid.
"He did say Traverse Town," Yue replied as he leaned back onto the counter.
Mitsu rubbed the back of her head as she studied the two men before she turned her attention to the store. Everything about this place and the two men confirmed that she was no longer on Destiny Island or with her friends.
"I take it you aren't from this place," Cid asked nonchalantly as he walked over to the large counter and behind it.
"No, I'm from an island...h-have you seen my friends? Their names are Sora, Kairi, and Riku," Mitsu replied quietly.
"Can't say I have," Cid replied
"No," Yue replied. "You're the only one we've encountered," Yue watched as the blue-haired girl stumble to her feet and gingerly dusted herself off before she began to the exit.
"I'm going to go find them," Mitsu murmured as she stumbled over her own feet.
"Wait you can't-" Cid started as she wobbled out of the shop. The two men clearly saw that she was in no condition to explore Traverse Town by herself, especially because of the recent attacks on the townspeople by creatures of the darkness.
"Yue go after her," Cid sighed, he didn't know the girl but his consciousness got the best of him.
"What? Why do I have to go after her?" Yue questioned annoyed at the man's sudden change of heart.
"She'll become another victim to the heartless and you know it," Cid sighed. Yue groaned in annoyance. Without another word, Yue exited the shop and headed after the girl.
Confused and dazed, Mitsu walked the streets of this new place called Traverse Town. The town was full of bright lights, signs, bright colored buildings, silent and empty. There were no people or animals in sight, it seemed as if the town had been nearly abandoned beside the two that she had seen moments ago.
"What...happened to the people?" Mitsu said to herself as she looked around. Nearly out of breath she leaned on one of the walls of the building as she looked around.
"Are they even here?" Mitsu murmured to herself. " Ugh...my head…"
It was as if the adrenaline she had before she disappeared from Destiny Island had begun to wear off, she clutched her head in pain and nearly doubled over. Her mind still hazy from her forced slumber but also swirled with the events that had taken place on Destiny Island before she appeared here.
The luminescent golden eyes in the distance, the furious blackened ocean, Riku…
"Riku...Sora ...Kairi...where are you?" Mitsu murmured
"Are they here like me…lost?" Mitsu asked herself as she closed her eyes and sighed. She pushed herself from the wall and began to aimlessly wander until she stumbled and fell to her knees With a heavy sigh, Mitsu got to her feet and faced the same creatures that had attempted to attack her on Destiny Island.
"You again..." Mitsu muttered as her eyes flicked between the shadow creatures as they skittered around and moved into prey on her.
Much to Yue's surprise, it didn't take him long to find the girl, he was thankful but still annoyed at how the girl just unceremoniously left and muttered something as she exited. He didn't know the girl but Cid was right about the girl possibly falling prey to the Heartless that spilled from the darkness and the worlds suddenly being connected. Just as Yue rounded a corner, he immediately saw that the girl was surrounded by lesser heartless.
"Already?! Shit-huh?" Yue began and immediately stopped as he saw two weapons in the girl's hands. "…Are those Key blades? She wields the keyblade…but she has two…?" Yue thought to himself as he watched as she sloppy destroyed the heartless. He casually walked over to her and crossed his arms.
"So you aren't helpless," Yue commented casually. Mitsu looked at the two key-shaped weapons in her hands and then to the man. Yue studied the silent girl before she turned back to the keyblades in her hands.
"Those things that you just fought are called Heartless...they came from the darkness of the worlds," Yue began. "Because of the worlds suddenly being connected they spilled through, so you need to be on guard," Yue stated casually.
"I know…" Mitsu trailed off "They were on Destiny Island," After the words left her mouth the two weapons vanished and left a ghost-like trail in her hands. Yue silently studied Mitsu as she watched the ghost trail of the key-blades evaporate from her fingertips.
"Let's go back to Cid's shop and hear your story," Yue began. "I'm sure Cid would like to hear it too and we might be able to help you find your frie-"
"W-what is happening...what is going on?" Mitsu sighed. Yue stared silently down at the girl as she looked up at him. Yue sighed softly and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"C'mon...I can tell you what I know back at Cid's shop…" Yue nodded in an attempt to calm and reassure her. Mitsu hesitated but nodded solemnly.
"Look who decided to come around," Mitsu heard Cid's robust voice as she and Yue approached the man's store.
"Ah, he's back," Yue said as he opened the door and walked in.
"Long time no see, Squall," Yue commented quietly.
"My name is Leon," The man replied firmly, Yue shrugged.
Mitsu meekly closed the door to the shop when the man suddenly turned to her, his icy blue eyes quickly studied her from head to toe in an attempt to intimidate her. Mitsu held her head high and moved towards the counter where Cid leaned on.
"Who is the kid?" Cid commented.
"Is that-?" Mitsu began as the man known as Leon knelt as he placed the boy on to his feet. "Ugh…where am I? You- YOU ATTACKED ME! What the heck?!" the boy yelled.
"About that," Leon started.
"You attacked him?" Cid asked as an unlit cigarette hung from his lips.
"Sora is that you?" Mitsu questioned as she stepped forward. Sora turned to look at the girl shocked and confused.
"Mitsu?"
"Sora-" Mitsu started but was cut off by the teen hugging her with enough force to nearly topple her.
"So this is a start…they know each other," Yue commented.
"I thought I lost you! Mitsu," Sora cried softly as he looked at the blue-haired teen. Mitsu's eyes began to tear up as she looked at the teen, all of the events that happened at Destiny Islands came rushing back to her and nearly had her in tears.
Similar to her, tears welled in the corner of Sora's eyes as well. Mitsu wiped away the tears that fell when she was suddenly pulled into another hug.
"Sora...I'm glad that you're ok," Mitsu said quietly. Sora pulled back and wiped away the tears that streamed down her cheeks and then wiped away his own.
"Well, that's good that you all found each other but I think a little explaining is in order from both sides," Cid began.
"We can already tell that you're not from here, hell we're not even from here but ou both can start from the beginning," Cid continued. Mitsu and Sora looked at one another and nodded.
"Well...we're from a place called Destiny Island
Hushed whispers, muffled laughter, Jilted awake by a rush of cold energy, Riku grunted as he awakened in a dark desolate unknown place. He quickly gathered himself and looked around at his surroundings, black, empty, silent, cold.
"Mitsu-?" Riku began and quickly realized that he was alone. He quickly stood and began to survey his surroundings to see if he could spot the blue-haired girl. Only the desolate, empty pathway answered him. He was alone and lost.
"The girl isn't here,"
Riku turned to where the voice came from, next to him only darkness.
"Who are you? Where are you?" Riku questioned as he looked for the source of the voice. Seconds after Riku asked the question, a slim young silver-haired man dressed in a black cloak stood behind him. Riku quickly turned to face the man and stepped back. He quickly looked over the man as the man looked him over as well.
"It's Kadaj,"
Riku's eyebrows raised slightly at the man's response.
"You asked my name. It's Kadaj,"
Silence settled between the two when Kadaj spoke up.
"You were looking for the girl, Mitsu... she got separated,"
"How do you know I was looking for someone?" Riku asked. Kadaj pointed to his head with his gloved finger.
"I can hear your thoughts here and clearly your frantic look told me you were missing someone," Kadaj replied. Riku sized up the man in an attempt to find out if what the man had said was true.
"I'm not going to attack you. That's not why I am here," Kadaj replied casually and ran a hand through his hair.
"So what you said is true then...why are you-" Riku began when Kadaj cut him off.
"I'm here to take you from this place...I mean you can stay here if you want but you won't be able to find...what was her name... Mitsu and your other friends," Kadaj chuckled. Riku tensed at the mention of Mitsu's name and the fact that he knew about the others. Riku balked slightly at Kadaj cocky response.
"Ah... you're wondering where you are. Well, we are nowhere but everywhere. The Darkness can take you wherever you want...if you know how to manipulate it," Kadaj replied as he crossed his arms. Riku looked around at the surroundings again. A road that led to darkness and pieces of rock and land floated in the distance.
"Shall we?" Kadaj began as he walked past Riku, The white-haired teen quickly outweighed his choices and without much of a choice, Riku followed. With a lazy wave of his hand a sickly green portal and stepped through it. Riku followed suite and found himself instantly transported from the darkness to a lavishly decorated warm room.
"Where are we?" Riku asked taking note of the change in the surroundings.
"A place that had forgotten its name and took the name, Hollow Bastion," a smooth and deep dulcet voice came from behind Riku and Kadaj, the two turned to the source of the voice.
"You must be the one who dived into the darkness,"
Riku nodded cautiously, his eyes never left the vibrant purple eyes bore into him.
"Then she must be with you," the unknown person said as he stepped away from a figure their taller and larger form had been hiding.
"K-Kairi?"
