[This is a unofficial Summer Camp Island story and I do not own any rights to the characters nor do I have any relation to Cartoon Network or Julia Pott.]
[Well, this is my first fanfiction. Hopefully it's a good start and I don't make too many mistakes. Let's begin.]
Hedgehog sat in the corner of her cabin crying with her face buried in her arms.
Horrible thoughts flooded her mind.
She was restless; waking from constant nightmares.
This has been going on for a week.
She put on a fake smile everyday and she couldn't handle it anymore.
Why is she feeling this way...?
Fear. Fear she wasn't good enough.
Hedgehog was afraid eventually all of her friends would all leave her. She saw faults in herself. 'She was too much to handle,' 'she was annoying,' 'she was too codependent,' etc.
As these ideas flowed through her head, she heard a crack at her door.
"H-Hedgehog?" It was Oscar. He had heard muffled sobbing while he was on his nightly walk, and he had come to investigate. "What's going on?"
Hedgehog couldn't handle it anymore. She broke down infont of Oscar and tears flowed down her cheeks.
Oscar panicked and ran to Hedgehog and held her in his arms. "Please calm down." "Tell me what's happening."
"I don't want to lose you."
Oscar was confused. "Who said I was going to leave you?"
"I'm not good enough for you. I'm not good enough for anyone." Hedgehog said as she wiped tears from her eyes.
Oscar repositioned himself and looked into Hedgehog's eyes.
Oscar's nervous tone shifted. He said slowly: "Hedgehog. I'm not too good for you. You're perfect just the way you are."
Hedgehog didn't believe a word he said. "Oscar. There is so many things wrong with me. I can't stand bothering you anymore."
Oscar wouldn't give up. He would stay with her until she felt better. "Hedgehog. listen to me close. Nobody is perfect. Not you, not me, but that doesn't matter. You complete me. No matter what you think of yourself, I will stay with you no matter what.
Hedgehog looked up at Oscar. "How? why would you say that?"
Oscar's heartrate went through the roof. He never thought he would tell her like this. "Because... because..."
Hedgehog had a confused look. "Because what?"
Oscar let it out. "I love you Hedgehog, I love you with all my heart."
Hedgehog froze. Those words turned her skin a bright red. "Wait... r-really?"
Oscar didn't care anymore. He didn't care if she didn't return his feelings, he had to let her know. "Yes. I mean it."
Hedgehog didn't know what to say. One moment she was crying endlessly, now she stood before her friend, who had just confessed his love for her.
Without another word, Hedgehog walked closer to Oscar. She held up his chin with her hand and looked into his eyes. A smug smile appeared on her face. She wrapped her arm around his waist and held him close. She kissed him deeply. Oscar's eyes slowly shut as he wrapped his arms around her.
After a long minute, Hedgehog slowly pulled away from Oscar. "If you haven't noticed, I feel the same way."
Oscar's eyes lit up. He didn't know what to say. The girl of his dreams was now his, and he couldn't wait to give her all of his love.
Hedgehog read Oscar's expression. Her smile grew larger.
She climbed back up to her feet and sat on her bed. She signaled Oscar over. He complied and took a seat.
They looked at eachother nervously. Oscar reached for Hedgehog's hand and held it tightly.
"How do you feel now?" Oscar asked.
Hedgehog let out a deep breath. "Well, you were right. I was wrong. All those thoughts were just in my head. You let me know that."
Oscar aimed a big smiled at her.
"But I don't want to think about that now." "I have something more important to decide."
"What is that?" Oscar said nervously.
Hedgehog had a smirk on her face. "How long i'm going to hold you in my arms before I let you leave."
The End.
