I'm still battling writers block on my story commissions, so for the time being I'm going to continue writing this story as inspiration. Luckily for me I got a couple of idea's for how it'll go down:) And I want to thank Autobot00001 for betaing this story for me:)
Enjoy:)
Joey stood frozen in place as the figure rose from the dragon mouthed throne. The figure walked down to the young blonde, with his eyes widening as the woman got taller as she came closer. When she finally face to face with Joey, she was almost towering over him as she was about a few inches taller than him. Joey gulped, while seeing her piercing grey eyes looking at him through the darkness in her cloak.
"It's alright," The woman told him in a soft, Irish accent, "there's nothing to be afraid of, Joseph."
Joey, once frozen, blinked in confusion, "Huh? Wait a second, how do ya know my name? Who are you lady!? I just dealt with a crazy lady in a cloak back there, how do I know you're not crazy cloak lady number two!?" Joey demanded as he went into defensive mode. The fact this stranger knew his name and after what he went through with the other woman earlier, he wasn't going to take any chances with this woman either.
"...You're right, I apologize. It's rather rude of me to not introduce myself after your ordeal, please, allow me to rectify that and properly introduce myself before we go any further." she said as she untied the knot on her cloak and it fell from her body.
Joey's heart nearly stopped with his eyes widening in shock and horror from what he saw and tried to stop himself from screaming. The woman before him, was not actually a woman that he imagined in his mind. Before Joey was a large creature standing on its hind legs, with long sharp dark blue talons on its toes and hands bigger than Joey's head. She was a dark royal blue color on her scales while her underbelly and bottom jaw were white, along with her long tail that popped out of the cloak.
What truly caught Joey off guard was the fact she had platinum blonde hair and she wore a gold crown with two gold wings on each side sticking up. And on her form she wore a gold breast plate that covered her chest and shoulders and wore gold wristbands, and on her waist a long white loin cloth that fell to her ankles.
Joey gasped deeply and was in pure shock and then awe when he saw her wings spread out from behind. Joey was stunned when he saw that her wings were like blue feathers on top but long and translucent at the bottom, Joey thought for a minute that those wings could belong to an angel or a fairy and saw that there was gold armour on top of the curve of her wings.
"WHHHAAAATTTTT!?" Joey exclaimed when he finally processed what he was seeing before his eyes, while pointing dramatically at the woman.
"I suppose that's the reaction I should have expected. It's not everyday you get to see a humanoid dragon." The dragon woman spoke.
Joey, now completely lost for words, out of all the things he saw over the years since meeting Yugi, he has never once encountered anything like this.
In his mind he was screaming.
"Aww Jesus Christ! Where's Yugi when ya need him!? He's better at handling this stuff than I am!"
Saffira gently raised her hand, signaling Joey to stop for a minute, "It's alright, just take a deep breath." she said reassuringly.
Joey did as he was told, and takes a big deep breath and blows out, then he looks at her in a somewhat calm manner, "I'm better now."
Saffira smiles, "Good. And before you ask, no, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to help you."
Joey, now officially recovered from the shock, blinked as he looked at Saffira once more, "Wait a minute, what is your name again?"
"My name is Saffira."
Joey began to ponder as her name was ringing a bell in his head, scratching his chin, "Saffira? Saffira..." his eyes began to widened as he figured it out, "...AH! Saffira! You're Saffira the queen of dragons!"
Saffira nodded, "Indeed I am."
Saffira the Dragon Queen was a new duel monster card that was created by Maximillion Pegasus himself. Recently, Pegasus created a dragon duel monster collection series as part of his new Medieval fantasy duel monster deck based off of the famous game Dungeons and Dragons, and the first of the series is dragons. From dragons, dragon warriors and even dragon royalty, it was already becoming popular with duelists with dragon cards and was expected to become big across Europe and America, especially to fantasy and history lovers.
The latest dragon card made for the series, was none other than Saffira the Queen of all dragons, and was said to be one of the most powerful dragon monster's in the series so far, with Pegasus hinting there was more to come. Joey became ecstatic and was no longer fearful of the dragon queen, but now looked at her with admiration.
"Pegasus just released your card. He started a dragon deck collection with all the existing dragon cards he created along with the newer dragons! With you being the newest edition to his Dragon Kingdom series! You're said to be the most powerful! He even says you will be able to control any dragon on the field, even your opponents! You're already becoming popular, even more so than Dark Magician girl!" Joey exclaimed with excitement.
Saffira continued standing tall as she nodded gently, "One of the most powerful, but not quite there yet."
Joey started giggling with glee, "Aww man, this unbelievable! That means if I get your card and duel Kaiba, I can take his Blue eyes again by having its queen command it to attack him instead! That'll burn his ass since I'll have dragon royalty by my side!"
Saffira and Baby Dragon sweat dropped from Joey's words, the queen coughed to change the subject, "Joseph, please focus."
Joey blinked, realizing he was letting his excitement get the best of him, "Oh, right sorry...wait! You still didn't answer my question! How do you know my name?! What's going on? How did I get here?"
The Dragon queen lowered her eyes, the seriouness showed as her grey eyes hardened, "I know more than just your name. Much more...including your encounter with Carmen earlier."
Joey blinked, "Huh? Carmen? Who's that?" Joey suddenly remembered the woman he encountered before Red eyes rescued him, "Oh yeah! that red headed lady! She tried to kill me! What was her deal!?" he exclaimed angrily.
"Yes, "Saffira nodded and motioned herself to Joey to walk beside her, "It's time you and I have a talk."
Joey was still confused, but given the situation he's in and what that woman Carmen tried to do, he wanted answers. And he wanted a way back to the realm of the living quickly.
Dub was swinging his sword to practice his combat training as he whacked at the test dummies, and one just flew across the room from his impact. Dub smirked as he took pride in his accomplishment, his years in training with weapons was paying off beautifully. He placed his sword over his shoulder with his other hand at his waist as he looked at the fallen dummy.
"Now that's what I call a hit! Can't wait to use it on a real person!"
"It's not like you haven't before."
Dub turned around to see the source of the flat voice. Dother walked into the mini training gym Dub made for himself in the old manor, holding a book titled "The Art of War'' as he read chapter six.
Dub placed a hand on his hips and looked at his brother, "Well it's not just any one, Dother, I'm practicing when I kill the vessel of Red Eyes!"
Dother raised his eye brow as he sat on the step, "You? Kill the vessel?" Dother questioned, "I mean you no disrespect, brother, but you know the vessel has the power of a dragon, correct? Meaning the person who holds the Ka of the dragon can have you killed in an instant."
"Pfff," Dub scoffed, "I know that! I'm preparing to strike at the vessel before he gets the chance to unleash the dragon's power, then I'll go after Joey Wheeler and finish what mother started. It's all about nibbing it at the bud, it's like mother said, the vessel is just realizing their power and it's only a matter of time before they do. So I want to stop it before it starts."
"Really? What happened to wanting to fight fairly?" Dother asked.
"This is fair, Dother, in a fight we strike when least expected...besides," Dub paused for a moment before continuing, "this is personal."
"You're dwelling too much on the past, brother," Dother remarked, "It's not our fault that we were forced to leave our home."
"You're right, but if Saffira and the Dragon King hadn't escaped, we wouldn't have had to leave our home and we wouldn't be in this mess," Dub growled, "One day that wretch will pay for all the Hell we've been through. I swear…"
"Then you'd better keep your thoughts here and now where they belong," said Dother.
"Fine."
Suddenly, Dian came rushing in with an excited look on his face, "Guys! Good News!"
"Let me guess, you've finally started acting normal?" Dub joked.
"No, even bet-...No!" Dian exclaimed in frustration.
"Just tell us what the good news is, Dian," Dother instructed.
"The vessel's been found!" Dian shouted as his excitement returned, "I know who it is!"
Dub and Dother were shocked as they looked at eachother, then back at their little brother.
"Who is it!?" Dother asked.
"I don't know, mama's gonna show us!"
Dub made an annoyed face as Dother groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Why the hell did you say you know then if you don't you fool!" Dub exclaimed in annoyance.
"...I don't know...see you in the room!" Dian said as he turned around and chuckled.
Dub rested his hands on his wooden sword as he rested his head on the top of his hands, while Dother shook his head from nonplus.
Jordan was laying on his bed looking at the ceiling with discontent, until he heard something bang against the bars of his cell. Infuriated, the elder man turned his head and was surprised to see a guard on the other side, and saw that the source of banging was from his cane.
The guard looked at Jordan, "Okay, let's go, Wheeler." he ordered.
Jordan was wide eyed and became angry, "What'd I do now?"
The guard takes out his set of keys and starts unlocking the cell door, "Surprisingly nothing, considering your track record. You've got visitors."
Jordan blinked in confusion from what he heard,"What? Who'd be coming to see me? Did my lawyer finally come?"
The Guard opens the cell and looked at Jordan with annoyance as he pointed his thumb behind him, "One of them is a friend of your son, and the other one is someone from your past."
Jordan tilted his head, "My past?"
"Just come on, I don't have all day."
Jordan got up and followed the guard to the visiting area, and was soon guided to the visiting booths where there was a glass that separated the convicts from the visitors.
"Why am I in this part for visits? I'm not stupid enough to fight someone in where there are guards that would beat my ass if I did anything." Jordan said irritated, hating that he was in a place where he was treated more like an animal besides being in a cell with bars.
"Don't act so surprised, considering what happened to your boy and how you resisted arrest before being taken here, my superiors don't want to take the chance of you going crazy on someone. While you're sober now, we can't trust that temper of yours either, especially with who's here to see you now." The guard explained.
"Well who's here then?" Jordan seethed.
The guard stopped at the booth and pointed at the people on the other side, "These two."
Jordan looked at where the guard was pointing at and his heart stopped. One the other side of the glass was a young man with a brown pointy hair tip with dark brown eyes glaring at him as he crossed his arms, wearing a black over shirt with a white T-shirt underneath and a pair of jeans. He immediately recognized the man as Tristan.
But the second person beside Tristan filled Jordan with pure shock and disbelief. It was a girl around the age of sixteen with long auburn hair and olive colored eyes that showed a bit of fear but were also filled with anger at the man. He also immediately recognized her as the last time he saw her was when she was a little girl when her mother took her away, and her eyes were the same as the woman he despised.
Jordan felt angry as he saw the two of them, "You?! What are you doing here!?" he spat out at Tristan, then he turns his head to his daughter, "Serenity!?"
Serenity sat up tall and picked up the phone and calmly but sternly spoke into it. " It's been a while, dad."
Jordan gritted his teeth and sat down, the guard looked at him one more time, "Behave yourself, you get twenty minutes." he warned the older man before leaving the room. When he was gone, Jordan immediately picked up the phone and spoke.
"The fuck are you doing here?! I thought you'd be far away where you should be?!"
"Hey, you watch what you say to her!" Tristan snarled as his voice went through the phone, meanwhile Serenity flinched from her father's tone but still stood her ground and continued looking on determined.
She wasn't going to let he father intimidate her, especially when her brother suffered for nearly a decade because of him. He fought for her, now she's fighting for him.
Jordan looked at Jordan and scoffed, "So what are you now? Her bodyguard or something?"
Tristan continued glaring at him, "You can say that," he answered as he gently places a hand on Serenity's shoulder, Serenity felt at ease from his touch.
Meanwhile Jordan saw Tristan's gesture and had a look of disgust, "You have no idea what you're getting yourself into, boy, if she's anything like her mother she'll drag you down like she did me," Jordan looks at Serenity again, "I gotta admit, Serenity, you did grow up to be quite the looker...and I can see that the operation Joseph paid for worked for you. Though I don't get why he wasted his time saving your sight when he could have used the millions to get us out of debt, but now I'm curious, why are you here Serenity? surly it isn't because you wanted to pay your old man a visit after nearly a decade of not seeing me since your mother packed your shit and left us at the crack of dawn."
Tristan became enraged, while Serenity felt her heart beating faster from her growing anxiety. She gulped and she spoke.
"I think you know very well why we're here, dad. What happened the night Joey was attacked?" she said with anger in her voice.
Jordan scoffed, "Haven't you read the report or seen the news? Apparently I almost killed him."
Tristan scowled, "Apparently?! There were people who saw you punch him and arguing with him around the time he was hurt. And it wouldn't be the first time you almost killed him either, Joey told me about the times you hit him and threw him out of the apartment where he was forced to fend for himself. And when we met, I saw the bruises you gave him and he spent his time at my place constantly, so sorry if we don't believe you give your track record of being 'father of the year' to my best friend who you treated like crap for his whole life."
Serenity felt her heart wince from hearing about Joey's past. She was feeling tears swell up in her eyes from her brother's pain, but she forced herself to keep them in, she didn't want to cry in front of the man who harmed her brother and who belittled her.
"Oh please! I didn't do it! Why would I?! The boy finally left my place and I finally don't have to keep him out of obligation anymore. I bumped into him by bad luck, we said our 'fuck you's' and I left to go home."
Tristan slammed his fist on the table, "Give me a break, Jordan! You were pissed off because Joey finally gained the courage to leave you after putting up with your crap for years, from paying your gambling debts and having to get jobs to support you while he was still in Elementary school all the way to High school! You also hated that Joey wasn't going to be your cash cow anymore and was going to make something of his life so you wanted revenge! You may not be the worst father in the world, but you're nowhere near the best!"
"He deserved it!" Jordan snapped, "I didn't attack him, but he deserved it for lying to me about the money he got from that tournament and paid for this little bitch's surgery, when he should have used the money to get us out of that shitty neighborhood and apartment and I could have lived like a King and be free of my debts for good. It would have been the only good thing he did to gain my respect, but he fucked it up!"
When Jordan found out Joey won the three million dollars at Duelist Kingdom, he was ecstatic thinking he would finally live the rich life he had hoped he would since he gambled in hopes of gaining riches. But lady luck was not on his side financially or in life when he found out Joey used the money to pay for his estranged daughter's eye operation, and used the rest he had for himself to get an apartment away from him,it infuriated the older Wheeler that he was still in poverty and his son was leaving him behind.
Tristan's eyes widened in anger, but before he could say anything, he was interrupted by an angry Serenity.
"He deserved it?! He deserved to be beaten everyday by his father?! The man who was supposed to love and protect him?! You think he owed you the million dollars after all the terrible things you did to him!? As far as I'm concerned he didn't owe a thing and the money he got was his to keep!" Serenity snapped.
Jordan was surprised by his daughter's sudden anger, but he snapped back at her, "What're you complaining about?! I never did that to you!"
Serenity's eyes narrowed, "Only because Joey protected me from you physically and emotionally! He shielded me from you for years and he suffered for it ! All because of you!"
Jordan was silent, until he started laughing bitterly, "Because of me?! More like because of you!"
Serenity froze.
Tristan rose to his feet and gave Jordan a death glare, "You bastard!"
Serenity's hand started to shake, "Me?! How is this my fault?!"
Jordan continued, "You're the one who ruined his life as well as mine! You were born with that eye disease that caused all of our problems! I was in college and had to spend my tuition money on your appointments, and on the day of my exam that was supposed to get me to graduate and get a great job, I had to cancel it for an appointment of yours and I failed and I had to drop out! I was better off when you and your mother left years ago, if anything she should have left and taken you sooner before my exam, I would have passed and my life would have been different! I don't know why she didn't take that boy with you, considering he eventually fucked me over to like she did!"
Serenity suddenly felt her rage increase and heart pounding faster. In the back of her mind, in the darkness, a pair of red glowing eyes opened and there was the sound of angry growls and the sound of a beast rising to its feet with the sound of chains being dragged.
"All he cared about was you! He should've been looking out for me when all he did was think about his precious little sister! He wasted all that money on your damn surgery when he should've been paying off my debts! "
Serenity started to hold her head as she started to feel pain as her anger continued rising, and the beast was growing angrier as well.
"You shut the fuck up, Jordan!" Tristan exclaimed, "You shouldn't have gambled in the first place and got yourself into debt! Joey and Serenity were the ones who suffered because of you! And I know you beat him near death that night Jordan, so you might as well spit it out and face your punishment!"
"Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! I can't take it, it hurts!" Serenity was screaming in her head as her body began heating up and the beast in her mind got even more angry. Her eyes squinted closed as her migraine increased.
Jordan turned his attention on Tristan, "They suffered!? Joseph was the one getting in trouble as a kid, I bet it was an old gang member he pissed off and they came back and got his ass. And that little bitch right there is why our family got into debt in the first place, all those appointments costed us tons of money and we nearly went on the street thanks to her! She tore our family apart by existing! Lynn should have put her up for adoption after learning about her sight and none of this would have happened!"
The beast's angry growls increased and it started to bare its teeth, Serenity couldn't take the horrible words of her father anymore as the anger and self hate rose from each hurtful word.
"If she hadn't been born, we would have had a house, and if Lynn still left me at least I would have money and a great job and I would have sent the boy to a boarding school where I didn't have to deal with him and lived my life the way I wanted to! But we didn't because of her! She's a curse on this family and always will be! Joseph got the three million dollars and what does he do with it? Pays for her surgery just to she can see when she doesn't deserve it after the suffering she caused, not to mention him hiding what was left over to leave me in the dumps! But what should I expect from an ungrateful bastard like him?! I didn't beat him that night, but I hope he dies! And I hope you know it's your fault to Serenity! Everything fell apart when you came along! I wish you were never born!"
The beast's anger reached it's peak, the chains broke and it let out an angry roar.
"RROOOOOOOOAAAAARRRRRRRR!"
"STOP IT!"
"KSHHHHHH!"
The room was silent. Jordan and Tristan wee shocked as they saw Serenity punch the glass, leaving a large circular crack with crimson liquid following the pattern of the glass. Tristan starred at the usually quiet sweet girl with disbelief as he saw her in complete rage for the first time.
With Jordan, he fell off his chair from being startled when his daughter punched the glass. But what really shocked him besides seeing his daughter get violent for the first time, was seeing that her eyes went from the gentle olive colored eyes into red eyes filled with rage, like a beast unleashed from its cage with a red angry aura surrounding her.
Serenity took her injured fist from the glass and continued glaring at her father, "You're the one who's to blame for this, not me! I didn't ask to be born! I never asked to have an eye disease that almost made me go blind and die from it! And I didn't ruin your chances to graduate college, you could have just went that day and take your exam and give mom money later to pay for my appointments! You're the cause of your misery and you made me and Joey pay for it! Because of you me and Joey grew up in a dysfunctional family with a dad who drinks and hurts us, and it was because of you Joey and I were separated when mom left because she didn't have the money to take both of us! I grew up alone without my brother and my big big brother had to suffer from years of abuse and didn't tell anyone because he didn't want anyone to be worried about him!"
"And why should he give you the three million dollars when you did nothing but get in debt, kick him out and beat him when he tried to help you!? he paid for my surgery because he wanted me to live my life and see the world, he didn't have to give me the money for the surgery, but he did because he loved me and wanted us to be together again someday! Because we're a team! Even if you didn't attack him that night, I hope you rot in jail for everything else you've done to him, just like you should have been a long time ago! I hate you!" Serenity screamed.
Serenity stormed out of the room, as Tristan rose up to go after her, he turned his head and glared at at the elder Wheeler.
"She's right, you should have been in jail a long time ago. Even if you didn't hurt Joey that night, you being here is long overdue for the pain you caused."
Tristan got up and left the stunned man behind.
Meanwhile, Jordan Wheeler's face turned nearly white and held his chest as he felt his heart ready to burst out. For the first time in his life, he was afraid of someone, and it was his daughter.
Tristan came out of the station, he saw Serenity sitting on the steps holding her hand, it was covered in blood.
Tristan became alarmed and rushed to her side, "Serenity, you're bleeding!"
He gently takes her hand to examine it. He quickly takes out disinfect and a bandage wrap from his shirt, hanging around with Joey ended up having a first aid requirement given their past history ," Okay, it's not so bad. I think I can patch it up."
Suddenly, Serenity began to shake again, before Tristan knew it she launched herself to his chest and started to cry her heart out. Tristan was shocked, but he started to wrap his arms around the sobbing girl.
"I hate him so much, Tristan!" Serenity sobbed.
Tristan patted her back, "Shhh, it's okay now, Serenity."
Serenity continued to cry, but started to clench on Tristan's shirt in anger, "It's all his fault! Our family falling apart! Me and Joey being separated! Everything! Joey suffered because of him, why didn't he let Joey come live with me and mom if he hated him so much!?"
As Tristan continued to console Serenity, something clicked in his mind as Serenity spoke that last sentence that made him realize something.
"I don't know why she didn't take that boy with you, considering he eventually fucked me over to like she did!"
As Tristan remembered what Jordan said, his eyes narrowed. He snapped out of his mind when he heard Serenity sob again and that her hand was still bleeding, he smiled at her, "Let's get that cleaned up."
Carmen and her sons watched everything transpire in the crystal ball, when the vision of Serenity and Tristan froze, the brothers looked at their mother in surprise.
Carmen had a pleased smile on her red lips, "That's her, boys. The Red-Eyes vessel.
Dother looked at his mother, "You're certain, mother? She is the new holder?"
Carmen nodded, "Without a doubt. She's the one we've been waiting for, my sons. We all saw what happened when she was faced with that brute father of her, the way she punched at the glass and her eyes turning red, the rage that we all felt. The dragon's power has made itself known inside of her, but luckily for us she doesn't know yet of her potential and the power she possess."
Dian looked at the crystal ball again to look at Serenity. He blushed and had a gentle smile on his face, "She's pretty." he said in a daze.
Dub smirked as he looked at the crystal ball, "She is quite the looker, I'll give her that. It almost makes me feel bad that we have to kill her. Almost."
Ah, looks like Serenity's the Red Eyes holder! How ironic that the sweet sister of hot tempered Joey Wheeler would hold his most dangerous monster?
Chapter 8 will be in the making.
