A/N: so this is all I can write this weekend because I got a crud ton of homework assigned by all but one of my teachers. I'm sorry :( it's just a short, silly story. I also want to mention that, based on current events, I hope all of you are safe and well.
Date Spy: How Alya's Plan Backfires.
Alya smirked evilly, watching the couple from afar. Her best friend had just recently gotten into a relationship with sunshine boy, something she had been waiting for for what has felt like forever. The girl had been pining over him for at least a year, for sure, and now they were finally together. It made Alya so happy, but she couldn't resist being a bit more nosy any longer.
Marinette and Adrien were at a date, at a cute café a few streets past their school. How might she know they were here, you may ask? That's confidential information, but Alya has her ways. She knew she shouldn't be watching them, but she did so anyway. They were so cute, and, again, it FINALLY happened. They were finally together.
Alya took a sip of her order, and pushed her mom's sunglasses back up her nose. The hoodie of her disguise was working very well so far, too. She had made sure that nobody would be able to recognize her, because otherwise she'd have to abort mission, of course.
As she continued to drink and spy, she noted that Marinette made a frowny face as Adrien laughed. Soon enough, though, she did giggle a little. I wonder what they are saying. Marinette took a sip from her coffee.
Perhaps Adrien knows how to make her laugh, but why did she frown, first? Alya needed to get closer. She wanted to hear the conversation so bad, she was just so curious.
Discretely, she tried to move tables, to the small round one behind their spot. It was empty, and perfect for her to get a better look. Despite not needing to, she tiptoed over to the table as if she was the one getting watched. But then again, there's always more room for caution right now, because if Marinette saw her spying... mom dieu, she'd get an earful from her.
When she reached her destination, she quietly pulled out a chair and tuned in to the movement next to her.
"But it was a good one! Just admit it, you totally think my puns a funny!"
"No way in Hawkmoth's lair! That last one was terrible! And don't even get me started on the puns you made during Stormy Weather!"
What? What does the weather have to do with anything? Unless she was talking about the akuma... Alya did have all the akumas memorised, as a matter of fact. But that wouldn't make any sense at all! Marinette probably couldn't even walk next to him without drooling a bit, back then!
"Are kidding, those were only some of my most iconic, greatest puns!"
"Not ever, you dork!" Marinette giggled.
"I will just settle on knowing that you like puns, even if you take that secret to the grave, Bugaboo."
"Yeah, right, Kitty."
"So, you agree?"
"That was sarcasm!"
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold up. Hold up. What did they just call each other? Alya choked on her drink. Uh-oh.
She wouldn't stop coughing, and if she didn't soon, her friend, which she knew all to well, will for sure come see if this "stranger" was okay. Stop coughing, Césaire.
Telling herself to stop didn't work. By this point, she's resorted to try and muffle the coughing, and drinking some more coffee, but alas, the lady wast doom'd.
"Madame, are you okay? Do you want some water, instead?"
Oh, snickerdoodles. Marinette will not be happy about this.
