Chapter 2

Legend of The Gobblewonker

Right about now another morning of Gravity Falls and inside the Mystery Shack Adam, Dipper, Mabel and Adam were in the kitchen. And for some odd reason Mabel and Dipper each had a different maple syrup bottle.

" Are you ready for the ultimate challenge?! " Mabel asked her twin brother holding a maple syrup bottle with a face resembling William Shakesphere reading Sir Syrup.

" I'm always ready! " Dipper replied holding up a maple syrup bottle of his own resembling a Canadian male with the title Mountie Men.

" Then you know what that means... " Mabel said.

" Syrup race! " the two kids cried out opening their caps.

" Adam! Drum roll please! " Mabel requested making Adam stop eating his breakfast.

" Eh, ain't the weirdest thing I've seen all summer " the teen shrugged and began imitating a drum roll.

" I don't get the whole point of this... " the blonde teen said before he began imitating a drum roll signaling the kids to open their mouths turning their syrup bottle upside down making a single drop of syrup.

" Go Sir Syrup! "

" Go Mountie Man! "

" Go! Go! " the twins cheered as each drop of syrup came down into their mouths.

" Almost...almost... " Mabel then tapped the top of her syrup bottle making it land in her mouth. " Yes! " She then coughed " I won! " The girl said in a strained voice coughing a few more times and pated her chest.

Once the contest was done Dipper grabbed the newspaper and got excited cause something caught his interest.

" Ho ho, no way! Guy's check this out! " Dipper said letting his twin sister and the teen look at the paper.

" Human sized hamster balls? " She asked and gasped. " I'm human sized! " she said looking at Dipper.

" Huh, reminds of that video game Super Monkey Ball " Adam noted since the idea alone reminded him of that game he played as a kid.

" No, no, guy's, this... " Dipper pointed to what caught his interest. It was a photo contest for monster pictures with a prize money of 1000 dollars. " We see weirder stuff then that everyday! We didn't get any photo's of those gnomes did we? "

" Nope. I recall us fleeing for our lives from a monster made out of gnomes " Adam said not showing he didn't like the memory one bit since he really started hating them.

" Just the memories for me. And this beard hair " Mabel said brining out a small amount of grey hair.

" Eww. Why'd you even keep that? " Adam asked with disgust only for her to shrug her shoulders and give a 'I don't know' noise. " But quick question guys? You sure that about this? I mean we barely made it through with the gnomes. So is this really the best idea? I mean what are our chances of finding monsters? Usually there not found. "

" Yeah, that's why we should let them come to us " Mabel pointed out that fact.

" Your defiantly on to something there " Adam said and continued to eat his breakfast and at the same time Stan came in the kitchen. Wearing his morning attire with a newspaper in his right hand.

" Good morning, knuckle heads! " Stan greeted them with a grin and pointed a finger at them. " You two know what day it is? "

" Um...Happy anniversary? " Dipper asked.

" Mazel tov! " Mabel cheered as Stan hit Dipper upside the head with the paper.

" It's Family Fun Day, genius! " Stan then threw the paper down on the table and to the fridge. " We're cuttin' off work and having one of those... " He opened the fridge and grabbed the milk. " You know... " He sniffed it with his big nose. " ...Bonding type deals. "

" Family fun time? " Adam raised an eyebrow and then narrowed his eyes. " Stan, please tell me your not gonna get into trouble like the last time when you had "family fun time"? " Adam asked making moving his fingers.

Flashback

The last Family Fun Day Adam was talking about was the time when he had the twins make counterfeit money while in a dark cellar. As for what was going on the twins were painting counterfeit money with Stan examining it.

" You call that Ben Franlkin? He looks like a woman! " Stan told them right before police sirens were heard outside. " Uh oh. "

Flashback End

Mabel shuddered at the memory. " The county jail was so cold. "

" Yeah, and you forget who had to bail you out? Hmmm? " Adam asked since of course it was him who managed to bail the Pine's family out since he blackmailed Deputy Bubs since he'd tell the state that he wasn't really doing his job properly.

" All right look, maybe I haven't been the best summer care taker " he began and walked over to the twins placing a hand on their shoulders. " But I swear. Today were gonna have some really family fun. And Adam your included in this. "

This took Adam by surprise nearly chocking on his breakfast but made it go down. " Are you sure? I wouldn't want to intrude. "

" Why not? You've lived in the Mystery Shack for 4 years. You're practically family. " Stan said taking him off guard even more.

" Well. When you put it that way, okay " the teen said.

" Now who want's to put on some blindfolds and get into my car? "

The twins and the blonde teen cheered. " YAY! "

" Wait what? " Adam stopped in the middle of cheering and realized what he just said.

The scene now changes to show a deer on the highway before it runs into the forest when a car came closing in. As for the car itself it was a red 1965 EL Diablo convertible, also known as the Stanmobile.

They were currently driving down a road leading them away from town and deeper into the forest area. In the backseats were blind folded along with Adam who was sitting in the middle. Stan was tinkering with the radio before leaning down to adjust it, causing the tires to screech and swerve making the passengers lean a bit taking Dipper by surprise.

" Whoa! Whoa! " He then sighs brining his legs closer to his chest. " Blindfolds never lead to anything good. "

" I know what you mean. This usually how serial killers trick their victims. So I ain't liking this either. " Adam gave his comment while Mabel managed to stay positive.

" Wow... " She whispered. " I feel like all of my other senses are heightened. I can see with my fingers " She then started touching Adams face making him laugh. But the moment broke when the car jumped causing them to jump and Adam hitting his head.

" Ouch! " He rubbed his head to sooth the pain. " Stan, are wearing a blindfold? Please tell me you aren't. "

" Ha, ha. Nah, but with these cataracts I might as well be " Stan replied before squinting his eyes trying to see what was up ahead. " What is that a woodpecker? "

It wasn't no woodpecker. He drove right through a wooden guardrail making the backseat passengers scream.

With the possible drive to their death done the twins and blonde teen, still blindfolded stood in front of the Stanmobile that had now had branches, sticks and leaves inside the grill.

" Okay, okay. Open 'em up! " he said letting them take off their blindfolds, squinting as they adjusted to the sun light to see what their new surroundings looked like. " Ta da! " Stan said wearing a fishing vest with a hat, holding multiple fishing rods, standing on a tackle box infront of a large lake with a sign reading Fishing Season Opening Day. " It's Fishin' season! "

" Fishing? " Mabel asked.

" What are you playing at old man? " Dipper asked pointing a finger at him.

" You're gonna love it! " Stan said turning around and gestured to the lake. " The whole town is here! "

As the group looked onto the lake nearly the whole town was indeed there like the waitress from Greasy Diner Lady Suzan. She's known to live with a lot of cats and has a lazy eye. " Here fishy, fishies! " She called out waving a frying pan over the water. " Get into the pan! "

It then shows one of the wooden docks that had the newspaper editor who own the Gravity Falls Gossiper, Toby Determined. He was small, wearing glasses and known to for his weird looking face. He was currently kneeling down taking a photo of a man holding a large salmon. " Say cheese! " Once he did take the photo it caused the guy to fall into the lake.

It then shows a boat with four passengers. One in particular was Manly Dan. A really large muscular lumber jack with red hair nearly covering up his whole entire body. He was with his three sons Marcus, Kevin and Guts. " Uh, is this good? " The oldest asked holding up a fishing rod.

" NO! " Manly Dan roared grabbing the fishing pole and snapping it in half with his knee and looked to his boys who recoiled. " I'll show you how a real man fishes! " He said before looking at the water scanning away dunking one of his arms in there and grabbed a fish laughing heartily. " Ha ha ha ha! "

He then threw the fish into the boat and elbowed it and then began to began the poor thing. " Dad! Dad! Dad! Dad! " His boys cheered him on before the local enthusiasm Tyler Cutbiker came up adding into it. " Get 'em! Get 'em! "

" That's some quality family bonding " Stan commented while the twins and the teen weren't so convinced.

" Grunkle Stan, why do you want to bond with us all the sudden? " Dipper asked folding his arms.

" Come on! This is gonna be great! " The old man said with encouragement. " I've never had fishing buddies before. The guys from the lodge won't go with me. They don't 'like' or trust me' " Stan said using air quotes.

" Geez, I wonder why... " Adam whispered to himself probably already knowing the answer.

" I think he actually wants to fish with us " Mabel said quietly.

" Hey! I know what'll cheer your sad sacks up " Stan then slapped two fishing hats on his great nephew and niece. " Pow! " He then threw Adam an old looking fishing vest. " And Pow! Pines family fishing hat's and vest. That-that's actually hand stiching right there. " The blonde then examined to see his name on the front of the vest with his name on it. The hat's also had Dipper and Mabel's names on the front but were a misspelled and the L on Mabel's hat peeled off.

" It's just gonna be you, me and that goofy stuff on a boat for ten hours! "

" Ten hours? " Dipper asked.

' Please don't get worse ' the blonde pleaded to himself. " Okay, ten hours is one thing. But what the heck are we gonna do besides fish? " The teen asked.

" I brought the joke book! "Stan brought out a book called 1001 Yuk 'em ups much to the trio's horror and confirming Adam's fears.

" No, NO! " Dipper gasped in horror, as their expressions filled with terror at the possible boredom that waited for them in the future.

" There's got to be a way out of this " Mabel whispered.

" Guy's, there may not be a way to avoid this... " Adam began to whisper. " It ain't like an adventure is just around the corner. "

" I SEEN IT! " A loud voice said making the trio look in the direction of the voice to see two guys being pushed off of a wooden dock. As for the one speaking it was an old man that looked like a minor. He had a long white bear with a band aide on it. A large pink nose, some teeth missing with a gold tooth seen. He also had a cast on his right arm. His outfit consisted of an old brown hat, overalls matching in color covered by his beard. And white bandages covering his feet. " I SEEN IT AGAIN! " He yelled like a mad man beginning to run around the beach crashing through fishing poles, throwing a table that had buckets of freshly caught fish to the side.

He also then slapped a sandwich out of a man's hands grip as he was about to eat and grabbed Adam's shoulders. " The Gravity Falls Gobblewonker! " The man said in fear right in the teens face before pushing him aside. " Come quick before it scrabdoddles away! "

' Oh, it's just Old Man Mgucket... ' The blonde said to himself as he watched the old man who was doing a jig. For those that are confused, this guy right here was down right the craziest person in all of Gravity Falls. Adam has run into him a few times in the past. But things got a little wierd, so he's since avoided running into him

" Awww...he's doing a happy jig " Mabel said while Dipper was entirely confused for the Old Man Mgucket to grab her shoulder with his cast arm.

" NOOO! It's a jig of great danger! " the old man screamed before a man with a spray bottle came out of the bait shop.

" Hey, hey! " The man walked towards Mgucket who backed off and then began to shield himself. " Now what did I tell you about scaring my customers?! " the man asked before he began to spray him. " This is you're last warning dad! "

" But I got proof by gummity! " the pld man begged making the twins and the blonde teen look at one another in curiosity.

The old man then lead them to the end of a dock. " BEHOLD! " Mgucket pointed to a boat that was smashed in half along with the police boat coming up showing the local law enforcement.

First there was Sheriff Blubs. A short overweight black man with a gray mustache wearing a pair of sunglasses known to be incredibly lazy. And along with him was his partner, Deputy Durland, he was very tall, had big ears and a big nose. From Adam's point of the view, the guy was practically a retard.

" It's the Gobble-dy-wonker what done did it. " The old man exclaimed continuing his story. " It had a long neck like gee-rafe! And wrinkly like... " He then pointed to Stan who was picking out of his ear. " Like this gentlemen right here! "

" Huh? " Stan was totally oblivious to what he said.

" It shawed up my boat to smitheroons, and shim-shammed over to Scuttlebut Island! " Mgucket said pointing towards an island in the distance surrounded by fog. " YOU GOTTA BELEIVE ME! " He said grabbing his sons arm and tried to pull him towards the island only to get out of his grip.

" Attention all units... " Blubs spoke up. " We got ourselves a crazy old man! " This made him and his partner, the crowd excluding the Pines family, Adam and the son to point and laugh at the old man. And sadly enough even his own son who's eyes couldn't be seen shook his head in disapproval.

" Aww, donkey spittle! " the old man said and walked down the dock all sad. " Aw, banjo polish. " With the little event done everyone left leaving Adam with the Pines all alone.

" Well, that happened " Adam said.

" Yeah it did. Now, let's untie this boat and get out on that lake. " He then stepped onto a worn out looking rowboat called the Stanowar that looked like it could crumble any moment. As he continued to talk Dipper spoke up.

" Guys, did you hear what that old dude said? "

" Aww, donkey spittle " Mabel said imitating one of the lines Mgucket said making the teen laugh.

" The other thing... " He whispered with excitement. " About the monster. " Dipper then took out the magazine he showed earlier from the Mystery Shack. " If we snag a photo of it, we can split the prize money three ways. "

Mabel gasped. " That's three 3's! " The girl exclaimed excitedly.

" Yes, yes it is " Adam said rubbing her head, making her giggle.

" Imagine what you could do with 333 dollars! " Dipper said causing the girl to have a weird fantasy.

" I don't wanna know what she's thinking " Adam said before snapping his fingers. " Mabel? Mabel! " He finally snapped the girl out of her trance and gained a serious look.

" Dipper, Adam. I am one million percent on board with this! " They then looked to Adam waiting to hear his answer.

" So let me get this straight... " He began. " You wanna go find a monster that could possibly kill us? " They eagerly nodded their heads. " I don't know guys...the gnomes were already enough. Plus, this thing could be worse. "

" But Adam, if we don't go, then were gonna have to listen to Grunkle Stan's jokes! " Dipper said reminding the teen.

" Okay, I'm in " Adam replied instantly changing his mind and walked over to the old man in the boat. " Hey, Stan...listen change of plans. We're gonna take that to scuttle butt island, and find that Gobblewonker! "

" Yay! " the twins cheered and began to chant. " Monster hunt! Monster hunt! "

" Monster hunt! " Mgucket came out of nowhere joining in only to receive a look. " Monster-Eh...I'll go " He caught the draft and walked off.

Then all of the sudden a loud horn was heard making them turn around to see a large drive up. As for its owner it was none other Soos. " You dudes say something about a monster hunt? "

" Soos! " Mabel exclaimed happy to their friend.

" What's up Mambo? " The man child said giving her a fist bump and made explosions noises.

" Hey man, " Adam greeted his best friend giving him a fist bump as well only with no explosions. " Nice boat, didn't even know you had one. "

" Thanks. You dudes can totally use my boat for you're monster hunt. It's got a steering wheel, chairs, normal boat stuff " he said patting his sea vessel.

" Alright, alright. Let's think this through... " Stan spoke up getting out of the boat and grabbed their attention. " You kids could go waste your time on some epic monster finding adventure, or! You can spend the day learning how to twist on and skewer worms with you're Great Uncle Stan! "

" Hmmm... " Adam though for a moment as he and the twins looked over to see Soos dancing like a robot smiling away. They then looked back at Stan who was back in the boat that had a small leak, a smoky engine and sniffed his left armpit. Their smiles turned into frowns as they looked at the Scuttlebutt Island and grinned at one another.

" So, whaddaya say? " Stan asked feeling more convinced that they were gonna go with him. But his only response was the trio already on the other boat, laughing away as they drove away from the dock.

" We made the right choice! " Mabel's voice was heard in the distance.

" Yes! " Soos said leaving the old man who was shocked and then turned angry.

" Ingrates! " He yelled waving a fist at them. " Aw, who need's 'em? " He asked sitting down on his boat. " I got a whole box of creepy fishing lures to keep me company. " The said creepy fishing lures, were actually dead fish started to get swarmed by flies do to their nasty smell. This caused Stan to cringe in disgust and close the box.

Back at the S.S. COOL DUDE. Adam stood on the stern of the boat with one foot on the guard rail wearing a yellow life jacket.

" Hoist the anchor! " Adam called out making Soos pull up the anchor that was just a concrete block. " Raise the flag! " The blonde added making Dipper and Mabel hold out a large towel.

" Alright, to our destination! " The blonde pointed forward to Scuttlebutt Island.

" Were gonna find that Gobblewonker! " Mabel exclaimed.

" Were gonna win that photo contest! " Dipper added.

" Do any of you dudes have sunscreen? " Soos asked.

Adam slapped himself and sighed. " Ugh...were gonna go get sunscreen! "

" YAY! Everyone else cheered as the boat made a U turn, going back to shore.

At the same time, unknown to the group something lurked deep within the murky waters of Lake Gravity Falls.

" Alright, everyone listen up! " Adam spoke up taking charge making Soos and the twins line up standing straight. " Now that were trying to track this down we need to be serious. " He said pacing infront of them. " Whenever you hunt a creature like this, you have to be careful and alert at all times. Okay, now Dipper, say what you're gonna say. "

" Well, for starters. Think. What's the number one problem with most monster hunts? " Dipper asked.

" Most of them happen when you at least expect it " Adam gave his answer.

" You're a side character, then you die in the first five minutes of the movie. " Soos said and began to panick. " Dude, am I a side character?! Do y'ever think about stuff like that? "

" It ain't like bud, don't worry bout it " Adam said reassuring his best friend who sighed in relief.

" No, no, no. Camera trouble! " Dipper corrected them. " Say bigfoot shows up. Soos, be Bigfoot? "

Soos turned around and did the famous bigfoot walk and turns his head around.

" Hehe. That's pretty good " Adam laughed.

" There he is bigfoot! " Dipper said in a mocking tone and reached around his vest. " Oh no. No camera! " He brings one out from his pocket. " Oh wait, here's one. Aw, no film! " He put's it back in his jacket. " You see? You see what I'm doing here? " Dipper asked.

" Okay, fair point there " Adam commented. " I'm assuming that we have more then one camera? "

" You know it " Dipper replied brining out a small brown bag. " That's why I bought 20 disposable cameras! " He reaches for his sock. " Two on my ankle! " He lifts up his life jacket. " Three in my jacket. Four for each of you, three extra in this bag. " He pointed to the bag he was carrying. " And one... " he picked up his hat showing another one. " Under my hat. There's no way were gonna miss this! "

" Geez, overboard but effective, alright " Adam noted stashing one in his right pocket and looked over to Soos who was pointing one directly at his face. " Dude, please don- " He didn't finish cause he pressed the button making it flash. " Aw, dude! " He shouted out making him loose the camera and into the water it went.

" Well, I can see why people need back up camera's " the blonde noted.

" That's exactly right Adam. Plus we still got, 19. "

Just then a seagull flew over Mabel startling her. " Ah! Bird! " This made her throw the camera at the bird only it fell into the water.

" Okay, now we got 18. Mabel stop doing that! Don't loose you're cameras! " Adam exclaimed.

" Wait, loose the cameras? " Soos asked.

" What? No! Don't! " Adam replied.

" Dude, I just threw two away " Soo replied jabbing his thumb behind him.

" 16! Alright, we have 16 camera's! " The kid said slamming his fist on the ice chest, only to end up smashing another camera. " 15...we have 15 cameras " He corrected himself.

" So what's the plan? " Mabel asked. " Throw more camera's overboard or what? "

" NOOO! " Adam roared startling the girl but he quickly calmed down. " Okay, okay. I'll be captain, Dipper will be first mate, Soos will man the wheel and Mabel you can be lookout. "

" What? " Mabel whined dropping the bag. " Why do you get to be captain? What about Mabel? " She asked rolling her hands and started chanting pointing her thumbs at herself. " MA-BEL! MA-BEL! MA-BEL! MA-BEL! "

" No. And...Stan trusts me to look after you and Dipper. "

" What about Co-first mate? " Mabel asked.

" There's no such thing as Co-first mate " Dipper said.

" Aw, whoops... " Mabel said throwing a camera overboard now leaving them at 14.

" Fine " The teen said in defeat with Soos coming up.

" Can I be Associate Co-First mate? " He asked.

" I don't care at this point. " Adam replied pinching the brink of his nose. " But, moving on...We need to focus guys. For instance. were dealing with a very large creature. So we need to make use of this bait. " He pointed to a large barrel that had large black letters spelling out FISH FOOD.

" Permission to taste some? " Soos asked Adam who became weirded out.

" Granted " Adam replied making Soos smile as he reached into the barrel grabbing one of the baits and licked it. He then began to cough and gag even trying to wipe his tongue to get rid of the taste while the teen and twins laughed at his misfortune. " Dude, I didn't know what I expected that to taste like. "

" At least we know it's Soos proof " Adam said making the twins laugh even more. " Ha, ha. Okay... " He got all the laughs out of his system and cleared his throat. " Now let's go get this Gobblewonker. Mabel, you're on look duty. Soos, take the wheel. Dipper, get the bait out there. Any questions? " They all shook their heads with Adam getting upfront. " Remember guys, this thing can take out this boat, so be alert for something large in the water. "

" Got it! " They all replied with Soos getting to the controls starting the boat up and headed towards Scuttlebutt Island.

...XXXXX...

As of right now things were going good for the crew of the S. DUDE. However as they approached the island the whole area immediately changed into more of a haunted feeling as the waters were filled with broken trees and remains of small boats. Thick fog was everywhere, so much that the sun was blocked and Adam was on the alert.

He then looked back to his co-worker Dipper who was shoveling bait from the side into the water along with Soos who was also steering the boat. He then turned his head back down to the water keeping his eyes out for anything moving.

" Hey! How's it going? " Mabel asked making him turn to see the twelve year old. He was surprised to see her right near a pelican grabbing a hold of it's lower jaw. " It's doing awesome " She said making a weird voice imitating a ventriloquist. " Bow bow, buh bow bow. "

" Mabel leave that thing alone " Adam told her.

" Ah, I don't mind none. " She made the pelican say and grabbed a glass of water returning to her normal voice. " Hey look I'm drinking water! " She then began to chug the water down while making the voice for the pelican. " Twinkle, twinkle, little... " She instead chocked on the water causing her to drop the glass and making the pelican fly away.

" Aren't you supposed to be doing look out? " Dipper asked finishing his job.

" Look out! " She then threw a volleyball hitting her brothers arm. " He heh. But seriously, I'm on it. " Then all of the sudden the whole boat shook prompting Adam to grab the railing.

" What happened? " Dipper asked.

" Looks like we drove onto solid ground " Adam explained because they indeed were "parked' on Scuttlebutt islands shore line.

" See, were here. I'm a lookout genius " She said before getting off the boat. " Hamster ball here we come! "

The guys also disembarked off the boat with Dipper grabbing a lantern while Adam turned on two small lights that were on his headband as he and the male twin lead the group inside the forest.

" Geez, this place gives me the creeps " Adam commented as they passed by a sign that had the islands name on it. Soos then stopped at the sign with Mabel.

" Dude, check it out " he covered the first part of the name. " Butt Island. "

" Soos, you rabscallion " Mabel commented.

" Heheh. Okay I get the idea of that " Adam commented.

" Hey! Why aren't you laugh? Are you scarred~? " Mabel asked going towards them Dipper mostly.

" Psh, yeah right I'm not... " Mabel poked his nose blowing a raspberry cutting him off.

" Yeah you are! " She continued pooking her twin brother blowing more raspberry's.

" Mabel that's enough of that " Adam said making the girl stop messing around with her brother. But then all of the sudden a loud growl was heard startling the teen and prompting Mabel to grab a hold of his left leg, as they looked around in fright.

" I don't like that sound... "

" Dude, did you hear that? " Soos asked catching up the trio.

" Yeah " Adam replied. " I've never heard of anything like that in my life. "

" Was that you're stomach? " Mabel asked.

" Nah, my stomach normally sounds like whale noises " Soos replied making Mabel press her ear against his stomach. Sure enough she did hear whales.

" Wow...so majestic... " She whispered.

" Dipper the lantern! " Adam said as he spotted a possum run by grabbing the lantern just as the male twin was gonna get it.

" It's okay. We still got my head lights " Adam said but all of the sudden they flickered before turning off. " Oh, no the batteries died. "

" Dude, I don't know man. Maybe this uh, maybe this isn't worth it " Soos spoke up.

" I'm with Soos on this one " Adam added.

" Not worth it? Guy's imagine what would happen if we got that picture. "

" And what would happen if we didn't get that picture. Oh I don't know, we live! " He said sarcastically but saw that they weren't paying attention. " What is going through you're heads right now? " He sighed in defeat. " Alright, let's keep going. "

" Yes! " Both twins said and ran off.

" Wait for us! " Adam said as he and Soos tried to catch up with them.

Right about now the group continued their search for the Gobblewonker and took a much slower pace as Soos began to imitate a beatbox with Mabel rapping.

" My name is Mabel! "

" It rhymes with table! "

" It also rhymes with...glable! "

" It also rhymes with...shmabel!

" Dude we should be writing this down " Soos commented. As Adam was gonna throw in his review Dipper suddenly stopped the group.

" Guys! Guys, you hear something? " He asked making the group stop and listen letting a growling noise be heard with a flock of crows flying through the treelines.

" It came from that way " Adam pointed out.

" This is it! " Dipper said excitedly as he and Mabel began to playfully punch one another. As for Adam and Soos they were terrified and the teen cursed at himself for leaving the nightstick at the Mystery Shack. So he and grabbed a stick with a sharp end and handed another to his friend who readjusted his hat, before going into the fog with the twins.

As they ventured into the fog Soos stopped them with his arms. " What is it? " Adam asked and he didn't need an answer as they saw a silhouette of something that resembled a prehistoric marine reptile. They all then jumped behind a large log. They then looked over the log at the creature.

" Everyone: Get your camera's ready! " Dipper said brining out his, Soos giving him a thumbs up, Adam getting his out with the stick equipped while Mabel turned hers on with an excited expression.

" Ready? GO! " Dipper said making Soos charge forward screaming like a crazy man snapping random photo's as they got closer and closer to the monster. But as they got really close they only saw that it was an old boat wreckage, occupied by beavers.

" The hell? " Adam said.

" But...but what was that noise? I heard a monster noise " Dipper said entirely confused as they heard the monster noise again turning around to see that it was coming from a beaver chewing on a an old chainsaw making it activate.

" Sweet, Beaver with chainsaw " Soos said and began to snap a few photos with Adam doing the same only he took 3 and sighed in anger.

" We came all this way just for a bunch of beavers?! " The teen asked outloud. " Well that was a freakin big waste of time. "

" Yeah...maybe that old guy was crazy after all " Dipper said in a sad tone.

" He did use the word scrap doodle " Mabel added with the same sad tone as her twin brother.

Adam then squatted down looking to the twins. " Sheesh, I'm sorry that this turned out to be a bust guys. Hmm? Hey where'd Soos go? " Adam asked.

" Ooh yeah! " They heard there friend making them turn to see Soos taking photos a beaver in a similar fashion as a photographer with a model doing poses on a stump. " Work it! Work it! Nice, nice. Gimme another one of those, yeah I like that one. " After doing a few poses the beaver went away.

Meanwhile Dipper hoped onto a rock in the water with a look of shame sighing away. " What're we gonna say to Grunkle Stan? We ditched him for nothing. " He said then throwing rock in the water sighing again before all of the sudden the ground began to shake causing ripples. " Hey... you guys feel that? " Dipper asked as the rock sunk making him fall into the water. He quickly swam over to the shore and was grabbed by Adam who heaved him up.

Then out of nowhere a massive tail fin flipped out of the water starling the group. The tail was revealed to be connected to a large hump of a shadow swimming in the water. The group had now found the monster they were looking to for.

" This is it! " Dipper said excitedly aiming his camera and snapped a few photos. " Com on! This is our chance! " The boy said turning to the group, not being able to see the shadow swimming in their direction.

" Dipper...we need to go... " Adam said worryingly as he, Soos and Mabel began to back up. " Like, right now. "

" What's wrong with you guys? " The boy asked still unaware of the Gobblewonker continuing its approach. It then raised its long neck, revealing its glowing yellow eyes, a large set of teeth with a pair of twin tusks and a fin mane running back down the back of its neck.

Seeing this sight made Adam drop the stick in fear. " I ain't playing man! We gotta get out of here! "

" It's not that hard alright? All you gotta do is point and shoot like this. " He said now turning to face the monsters neck before looking up and looked it right in its face. It then gave off a loud powerful roar.

" Run for it! " Adam said grabbing the boy's arm causing him to drop the camera as the group now began to run for their lives. At the same the creature made its way on land knocking over a tree. It fell towards Mabel but Dipper quickly tackled her out of the way rolling into a ball and continued running. They managed to dodge more falling trees and caught up to Soos. " Soo! Where's the boat at?! "

" Just down this path! Hurry! " Soos said as the Gobblewonker snapped its jaws forward trying to get Mabel who jumped on Soos's back picking up more speed.

As this happened Dipper brought out a camera and snapped a photo. " Dipper no! " Adam said grabbing the boy and held him like a sack of potatoes making him drop the camera.

" No the picture! " Dipper protested.

" We ain't got time for that! " Adam yelled.

" Dude, if it makes you feel any better, " Soos exclaimed. " I've got tons of pictures of those beavers dude! "

" WHY WOULD THAT MAKE ME FEEL ANY BETTER?! " Dipper yelled.

" CAUSE IT'S BETTER THEN DYING YOU MORON! " Adam replied as they continued to flee from the Gobblewonker. They then made it to the boat and with the weight it got back into the water.

" Now let's get out of here, dudes! " Soos said as he made the S. DUDE go in reverse as the monster broke through the forest.

" Alright, this is it! " Dipper brought out another camera. However it cracked lens. " Cracked lens?! Soos! Get a photo! " However much to Dippers dismay he was throwing the cameras at the monster instead and each one missed by a mile going in the water

" WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? "

" Oh, I still got two left " Soos said showing the camera's he didn't throw. Don't worry dude! " Soos said throwing one to Dipper but shattered on impact.

" Gimme that thing! " Adam grabbed the camera in frustration as the Gobblewonker jumped back into the water and brought its head back out casting its shadow over the boat. Soos immediately pulled a leaver making the boat back up more avoiding an incoming attack causing a wave that helped the man child get behind the steering wheel. Now in position he grabbed the wheel got the boat going forward.

" Soos! Buddy, get us out of here! " The blonde teen said with his friend pushing a lever forward increasing the vessels speed.

The chase contiued on with the boat roaring past Stand boat and soaking him. He then threw his hat down in frustration and sighed before sitting down.

They ended up circling around the island with the Gobblewonker hot on their tail. Adams eyes then widened full of panic. " BEAVERS! " Adam pointed forward to the wreckage containing the animals. Soos tried to pull up and only destroyed their home causing beavers to fly everywhere with a bunch landing on the boat attacking the crew members.

Two were bitting on Dippers hat, one was on one of sleeves of Mabel's sweater and two were knowing on Adams arms. At the same time one of them lunged onto Soos's face making him let go of the steering wheel.

" Gah! " Adam roared as he contiued hitting the beaver until it let its grip on his arm and headed to the steering wheel ignoring the pain of another beaver bitting on his right arm till Mabel got it off him. " I hate freakin beavers now! "

Meanwhile Dipper was getting more of them off while one was still one Soos's face as he ran around in circles crying out in pain as the boy threw a few beavers at the Gobblewonker only it dived into the water. " Uh-oh! " The teen cause a few small boats were now coming up. He managed to get through no problem but the boats were sent flying into the air by the Gobblewonker.

Up ahead of them Manly Dan had a fish in a headlock. " Headlock! "

" Dad! Dad! Dad! " His boys continued to chant but was soon turned over by the monster. As they resurfaced multiple fish began to fall back down hitting the lumber jack.

" The fishes...they seek revenge! Swim boys! Swim! " Manly Dan commanded his sons as they made their way towards shore.

Back with the group Adam who was still on the wheel continued to out maneuver the Gobblewonker that used it's long head to hit the boat. And with another swipe it knocked off the large chunk of the boat mainly the control cabin.

They got back up after ducking and the beaver was still on Soos's face.

" Look out! " Mabel pointed forward.

" Easy, easy " a man said to another guy as they were transporting a large sheet of glass for some odd reason. The S. DUDE then crashed right through it.

" Who transports glass in a lake like this?! " Adam asked as they now entered a narrow rocky valley and running out of places to run cause they were heading straight towards a water fall. " Shit! A dead end! "

Dipper panicked and opened the journal flipping through the pages and stopped at one of them. " GO INTO THE FALLS! " He pointed forward. " I think there might be a cave behind there! "

" MIGHT BE?! " Mabel exclaimed while Adam glared on ahead.

" I'll take it. HANG ON! " The blonde said as he put the boat of full throttle speeding towards the water fall. They all screamed while closing their eyes as this could be the last thing they see. But by sheer luck alone there was indeed a cave behind the water fall. The boat then crashed into the sandy shore sending them all flying onto it. They then stood up dusting themselves off while Adam spat some out. Soon the Gobblewonker caught up entering the cave making them all scream as they hugged one another for their lives.

All though it seemed they were about to die they didn't. Instead they opened their eyes and saw that the monster was stuck in the caves entrance and struggled to get out.

" It's stuck! " Mabel exclaimed with a smile.

" Ha, ha. Yeah! " He said and came to a realization. " Wait...it's stuck? ". They all got on top of a ledge high enough away from the Gobblewonker. Dipper then reached for a camera in his life jacket and panicked cause he couldn't find any, until.

" Boop! " Mabel took off Dipper's hat revealing the last camera much to relief as he began to snap a few photo's of the Gobblewonker and recoiled back a bit as it tried to get him.

" Didja get a good one? " Mabel asked as she watched her twin continue taking pictures before turning to her.

" There all good ones! " He replied raising his arms into the air triumphantly.

" Woo! " His twin sister cheered and gave him a hug. " Hamster ball! " As they continued their celebration the Gobblewonker continued to struggle until a large rock hit it's head. Weirdly enough when the rock hit it sounded like a bell, and the fell down making an electrical noise.

" What the...? " Dipper asked entirely confused at what was going on with the rest of the group.

" Guy's stay here " Adam said as he went down and inspected the Gobblewonker. He slowly went up to it in caution and touched it only to jump back cause it was cold.

" What's wrong? " Mabel asked as Adam knocked on the monster making a metallic noise much similar to the tree he and Dipper found days ago.

" No freakin way... " the teen breathed as he began to climb up the monster.

" Careful dude! " Soos called out.

" Hold on a second " Adam replied and continued to climb up while the twins and his best friend were standing by all worried till he stood up. " Guy's you got to come over! Hurry! " Adam said calling them over.

Once the they reached him much to their surprise Adam had found a wheel handle ontop of the Gobblewonker. This raised more questions. With a quick glance at one another Adam turned the handle and opened up a hatch letting loose a lot steam. Once the steam cleared they all looked into the hatch in shock. The reason why was because the crazy old man from the docks was inside, working on a bunch of control panels. " Work the bellows and that- "

" Old Man Mgucket? " Adam exclaimed getting his attention looking up his shoulder to see them looking down at him.

" Eh? Aww, banjo polish! "

" Wha - Yo-You! " Dipper stuttered. " You built this thing?! "

" Yeah, what the hell is going on?! You almost killed us! " Adam snapped at the old man.

" Well, I...I, uh... " The old man said nervously and scared, and finally said sadly. " I just wanted attention. "

" Attention? " Adam asked and then figured it out. " Wait, a minute. Mgucket, you made this thing just so you're son could visit you? "

It seemed the old man was gonna go over some silly stuff but stopped. " That's right Adam " He said sadly and took off his old hat while scratching his bald head. " You see, when you become an old fella like me, nobody pays any attention to you anymore. My own son hasn't visited me in months " He said explained while putting his hat back on. " So I figured maybe I could catch his fancy with a 50 ton aquatic robot. " He laughed like a maniac and then sighed. " In retrospect, it seems a bit contrived, you just don't know the lengths, we old timers go through to spend with our family. "

Hearing this made the twins bring out there fishing hats made from their great uncle and sighed sadly realizing how they messed up.

" Dude, " Soos spoke up getting their attention. " I guess the real lake monster is you two. Hehe. Sorry it just boom, popped into my head there. "

" Well...not exactly how'd I put it. But we get the point Soos. " Adam said patting his friend on the shoulder. " Anyways...So? Have you ever talked to you're son about how you felt? "

" No sir! I got to work straight on the robot! " Mgucket said making a projector appear showing the blue prints of the Gobblewonker. " I've made lot's of robots in my day. " He pressed a button making the projector show a news paper article showing a giant flying dinosaur breathing fire with the title CHOAS! " Like when my wife left me and I created a homicidal Pterodactyl-tron. " He pressed the button again showing a random guy. " Or when my pal Ernie didn't come to my retirement party. " He pressed the button again showing another newspaper showing a massive robot destroying a town with the title DISASTER. " And I constructed an eighty ton SHAME BOT THAT EXPLODED THE ENTIRE DOWNTOWN AREA! " He once again laughed like a maniac. " Well, time to get back to working on my death ray! " He then went back down the hatch instantly making construction noises. " Any of you kids got a screwdriver? " Mgucket asked raising his hand in a grabbing motion.

Dipper sighed pulling out the camera. " Well, so much for the photo contest " Dipper said all depressed.

" I know that's a bummer " Adam said before busting out the camera he kept in his right pocket. " This thing still has plenty of film left in it. "

" Whatddya want to do with it? " Dipper asked.

Adam smiled. " You got to ask? "

Back at the lake Stan pulled up to the shore all depressed. He really did want to fish with the twins. He's usually barely able to see them all the time. Then there was Adam, he knew the boy had a secret and even so, he'd grown real fond of the teen for over the last 4 years. So today, was a bit of a let down.

He sighed. Proving that just maybe they didn't like him as much as he thought they did.

" Hey! Over here! " Dipper called out getting his attention as the crew of the S. DUDE drove up next to the old of what remained of the boat.

Dipper then took a photo of his great uncle. " What the-kids? "Stan asked. " I thought you both were off playing 'spin the bottle' with Soos and Adam. "

" Well...we spent all day trying to find a 'legendary dinosaur' " Dipper admitted scratching his arm.

" But we realized the only dinosaur we want to hang out with is right here " Mabel said but Stan wasn't buying it.

" Save you're sympathy! " The older man waved them off. " I've been having a great time without ya. Making friends, talking to my reflection. I got into a run with the lake police. " He listed all of the things he's done and lifted up one of his legs showing a tracking bracelet similar to house arrest. " Guess I got to wear this ankle bracelet now, so that'll be fun. "

" So you telling us that there ain't room for at least 4 more in that boat? " Adam asked only to receive a glare from Stan. However his expression softened once the twins put on their hats with Adam putting on his vest.

" You, knuckleheads ever see me thread a hook with my eyes closed? "

" Five bucks says you can't do it! " Dipper challenged as he and Mabel got on the boat.

" You're on! " Stan replied.

" Five more bucks you can't do it with you're eyes closed, plus me singing on the top of my lungs! " Mabel added as Adam got on the boat.

" I like those odds! " Stan commented as Soos was the last to come aboard. He instantly noticed Soos's shirt was gone. " Whoa! What happened to you're shirt? "

" Long story dude " Soos said as Adam brought out the camera.

" Okay, everyone together now, " the blonde told them holding the camera. " Say fishing! "

" Fishing! " Mabel, Dipper, and Stan said together. Soos also got in the photo but only his large stomach was in view.

" Dude, am I in the frame? " He asked with the photo being taken and a phot montage begun. First was Mabel blocking Stan's sight as he peaks threading a line into a hook; Stan reading Jokes from the book with Mabel and Soos laughing while Dipper was unamused and Adam rolling his eyes; Dipper catching his first fish; Stan posing with a hand in his vest, but had his face cut off; Adam and Soos raising large fish they caught into the air triumphantly; Stan and Mabel stealing a fish from a little girl and her grandfather by cutting the net; Stan, Dipper, Mabel and Adam fleeing from the lake police.

It then cuts to the dock with Mabel playing with the same pelican from before. " Who wants to hear a joke? " She made the pelicans voice.

" Not me " Dipper replied with Adam watching them.

" Hehe, yeah ya do " The pelican replied. " Here it goes. Why did the pelican get kicked out of the restaurant? "

" I don't care " Dipper replied again.

" Because he had a very big bill! La la la! Yuk yuk yuk! Blah blah boo! Yay! Hurray! "

" Ugh, boo. Bad joke. Bad pelican joke " Dipper overlapped.

" Eh, I get it " Adam said shrugging his shoulders.

" Come on lets go home! " Stan said as he and the group made their way to the car all except for Adam who stayed on the deck and sighed happily. He then checked out the roll of his camera and saw that there was one left.

" Huh, wonder what I'm gonna spend you on " The teen said before he suddenly saw a large hump in the water. Much to his surprise it was the real Gobblewonker. He quickly aimed his camera and snapped a photo as it's long tail went back under water.

" Now this, was a good day " Adam said to himself in content and walked back to the car. " Plus, I don't care if people say it's fake. Hehe, Dipper is gonna have kittens when I show him " The blonde laughed to himself already picturing his reaction.
