Hi everyone! This chapter is gonna be a little special. You are all curious to know how right? Well you see lately I've been constantly asked if I would ever do a reference chapter of a certain cartoon that has something in common with Gravity Falls.

And that cartoon is Courage The Cowardly Dog. So I do hope you can all guess which episode this chapter was based on because this episode was my favorite one.

But I'm sure you'll recognize it.

Welp, that's enough talking onto the story.

Chapter 4

Curse From Another Part of the World.

As of the moment it was late at night in Gravity Falls, hours earlier the Mystery Shack had closed and everyone else was asleep. The attic comes into view showing Adam who was out like a log in his hammock Dipper was fast asleep on his bed occasionally turning every once in a while Mabel was snoring and giggling meaning she was having some sort of amusing dream.

But outside something else was going down. The vast long streets of Gravity Falls comes into view with a set of head lights coming up followed by the car that the head lights belonged to sped by.

Not to far behind a helicopter was in the air shining a search light meaning who ever was in the car were on the run from the law and it was right behind them.

Inside the car one of the criminals was looking behind seeing just how far the helicopter was behind them while his partner was manning the wheel.

" Faster! " The guy told the driver. " Drive faster you fool! If they catch us with it we are done for! " He said and then unexpectedly the driver slammed his foot on the break screeching the car to a halt. " What are you doing?! " The guys asked in confusion as they then got out and opened the back trunk revealing whatever they were transporting.

" You're right. We got to the hide thing were we can find it later. " The driver said before he immediately spotted where they would do so. " There! Behind the outhouse! "

And so they grabbed two nearby shovels and began to dig a whole right behind the outhouse. Once the hole was deep enough the driver put whatever was they were transporting inside the hole before burying it.

Without hesitation the search helicopter continued close in each passing second. By then the crook duo quickly made it back to the getaway car. " We'll come back for it when the heats off. " The driver said as he and his partner got into the car and buckled themselves up.

" And we'll be rich! " The drivers partner exclaimed happily and were about to drive off until the driver noticed something was off.

" Hey! What happened to the road? " He asked now noticing that the road was no longer there and large amounts of fog began to gather. Then the crooks were taken by surprise as the shadow a person was seen on the hood of the car.

" Return the slab, or suffer my curse. " The one who casted the shadow said in ghostly voice.

" Curse? " The drivers partner was confused as they exchanged a look.

" What curse? " The driver spat out not buying any of that mumbo jumbo until a faint buzzing noise was heard. The buzzing then got extremely louder and out of nowhere a massive swarm of insects appeared making the crooks scream as the swarm surrounded the car and the view shows that the car was really close by the Mystery Shack. Then the fog disappeared along with the screams as it now shows that the car was no longer there as the search helicopter passed by unaware that it would never find the ones they were looking for.

Adam meanwhile looked outside the window after hearing all the commotion highly both curious and confused. " What the heck is going on out there? " He asked himself. " Eh, this can wait until morning. " The teen said and then headed back to bed completely unaware of what was buried right near their home or the chaos it would cause.

The next morning Adam had woken up bright and early and was now in his usual clothes stepping outside and to stretch his limbs. Once he was done the teen headed over to use the outhouse since the toilet inside of the shack was clogged. After doing his "business" the teen gave off a loud yawn followed by a sigh and him smacking his lips.

" Wonder what was going on last night? A police chase or something? " He tried to guess what occurred last night but simply shrugged his shoulders. " I'm sure there will be something on the news. Huh?" He then noticed something off with the outhouse because their was a pile of dirt that stood out looking like it was packed down.

By curiosity alone Adam grabbed a shovel and began to dig up whatever what was recently buried right by the outhouse. After a few good four minutes his shovel had hit something, so he got down on his knees and used his hands to wipe away the dirt. He then picked up what appeared to be a large piece of stone confusing him some more and then blew away the dust giving him a clear view of the stone he had in his hands.

The stone was really strange, and it looked like something from another part of the world. He also saw that there were four symbols on the stone, a tall man wearing robes, a set of ripples some sort of insect and what appeared to be a old school record player?

" Whoa... " The teen said in awe as he then headed back to the Mystery Shack to show everyone else.

Inside the of the Mystery Shack Mabel was on the floor with her mouth wide open. Dipper then walks by while reading the journal but then stops after noticing her sister doing another one of her silly acts.

" Mabel what are you doing? " The male twin asked.

" I'm having myself a treat. " The female twin replied and resumed to keeping her mouth wide open. Dipper then looked up to see the end of the broom taped to the counter with a popsicle taped to the end of the stick currently melting away with each drop going into her mouth before the entire thing slipped off and landed in her mouth. " Yes! Finally! " The female twin cried out in victory with the ice cream still in her mouth while Dipper facepalmed himself at his sisters antics.

" You know could just eat like a normal person would. "

" But where's the fun in that? " Mabel asked before her face winched followed by the girl clenching the sides of her head to sooth the pain. " Ow! Brain freeze! "

" Hey guys! " Adam called out now entering the mystery shack and getting their attention. " Guys look at what I found! "

" Huh? " Dipper took it from his friend and examined it with Mabel looking over his shoulder.

" Wow...that thing looks old. " Mabel commented.

" Yeah, really old. Guy's this is Egyptian. "

" I knew there was something familiar about this style. " Adam said now taking it back from Dipper.

" Egypt? Isn't that were mommies are found? In those pyramid thingies? " Mabel asked in curiosity.

" Actually Mabel, there called Mummies. " Adam corrected. " The remains of people who were of royal blood primarily. But I don't get it, why is this thing even here in Oregon in the first place?

" Where did you find it? " Dipper asked.

" It was buried. Right by the outhouse. "

" Maybe someone buried it here like a few hundred years ago? " Mabel tried to guess.

" No. This thing was buried, like really recent. " Adam exclaimed as they then headed over to the living room.

" So what are we gonna do? " Mabel asked curious to know what their plan was.

" I think we should watch the news is if something comes up. " Dipper suggested.

" That's not a bad idea. " Adam said nodding his head.

" Morning knuckles heads! " Stan said greeting his great nephew and niece along with his guest in his usual lazy attire since there was no work at the Mystery Shack today. "

" Oh, morning Stan. " Adam greeted as he examined the slab very curious about the markings on the piece of stone before the old man reached over and grabbed it.

" What's this? "

" I found that buried behind the outhouse. That's from Egypt. " Adam explained as his boss put on a bored expression.

" Eh, it's garbage " He said before tossing it outside the window.

" Grunkle Stan what are you doing?! " Dipper cried out.

" It's just a fake! " The old man replied. " I used to make all kinds of stuff like that for an Egyptian exhibit I had a few years back. "

" Then why was it buried behind the outhouse then?! " Adam argued. "

" Eh, like I said. That things a fake. Once the Egyptian exhibit was done, I buried those things anywhere I felt like it. " Stan said before he then turned the tv on to watch his usual programs.

" We interrupt this program to bring you breaking news! " Shandra Jimenez's voice said through the tv as it then shows the woman herself.

" Ah come on! Who cares!? " The old man complained as everyone gathered around to see what it was about.

" This is just, in last night, local authorities were pursuit of two grave robbers who were involved in robbery in Kairo were discovered here in Gravity Falls Oregon. " The crook duo's faces were now shown. " But unfortunately they have yet to be found. Just only about two weeks prior, the two thieves had stolen a priceless relic from the crypt of King Ramses. A slab that's worth over a million dollars. " A photo now comes up showing what Stan had thrown outside.

" Hey look there it is! " Dipper said pointing to the tv in sheer surprise.

" Wow, so that thing really was stolen? Those guys must have hid it buried it over by the outhouse last night. " Adam added now putting the pieces together of what occurred last night.

" If anyone has any information we urge any of you viewers to provide as much information as possible. Now back to your regular scheduled program. " The tv now turns off and Stan hurry's to fetch what he just threw outside.

" Wooohooo! I'm rich! " The man cried out excitedly as he places the slab onto the T Rex skull on the side of his recliner.

" Stan she just said that was stolen. We got turn that it in. It's the right thing to do. " Adam said to the old man.

" And I will, just let something real quick. " Stan replied as he then grabbed the phone and dialed in a number for the Gravity Falls Gossiper. " Hey Toby, I like to place an add on the paper. "

Moments later...

" Yep. You heard me, so start running that add right away. " Stan said as he put the phone away ending the call.

" Grunkle Stan, I don't think putting an add on the paper is gonna do anything. " Dipper commented. " I mean it's not like someone's gonna come right away." Knocking was soon heard coming from the door.

" Wow, that was fast. " Mabel exclaimed.

" And I stand corrected " Dipper sighed as they all went to the front door on the porch was man wearing archeologist styled clothing.

" Who are you? " Adam questioned.

" I'm Professor Frizz. I with the Museum of Cairo. " He said briefly showing his Id. " I've come to retrieve the slab. "

" You see Stan? I told it was stolen. " Adam said bluntly.

" So? Where's my money? " The old man questioned.

" Sir, I need it, to inform my superiors before any reward is given. " The archeologist explained.

" No deal. " Stan quickly replied.

" But, sir, I promise you'll get you're money, you just simply need to cooperate with me. " The man argued.

" Yeah, well to bad. " Stan frowned before slamming the door on the guy. Inside Adam shook his head in disapproval at his boss's action not seeing reason but was instead blinded by his greed.

" Grunkle Stan, we need to return this thing. It was stolen. " Dipper exclaimed.

" Yeah, plus there's stories about people who die from curses and this thing could be cursed to. If there's one thing I know, you don't wanna mess with stuff that belongs to the dead. " Adam exclaimed. " Plus, it don't belong to us, we got to give it back. "

" There ain't no such thing as curses. " Stan replied as he took the slab. " Until someone get's me my money. Finders keepers. " The olderman said and unknown to them the symbol showing the tall guy King Ramses suddenly faded off the slab.

Later on that night Stan was watching Ducktective with Mabel in his recliner as usual with the slab right next to him. Meanwhile Adam and Dipper were reading a few books all about Egyptian mythology and stuff about the supernatural.

" Pss! Pssss! " Adam whispered over to the male pines twin who leaned his head forward. " Dipper I really don't like this. "

" Yeah, me neither. We got to return that slab back before anything happens. "

" Well we better do it fast. " Adam said as he continued reading the book in his hands. " Because if we don't we'll suffer the 'Curse of The Pharaohs'. "

" The Curse of The Pharaohs? I heard about that, " Dipper exclaimed. " It's believed that anyone who disturbs a burial. "

" That's right. The most famous curse was King Tuts. Over 11 death in the first ten years of the tombs opening. Even though science has proven a few theory's, that people in Egypt still highly believe in the curse. "

" Hey! " Dipper tapped Adams shoulder and pointed over in Stan's direction to see that he was going to the bathroom. " What do think? "

" Let's go! " Adam said as they hurried over to the slab to examine it some more

" Huh? " Adam picked it up followed by his eyes fully wide open. " Dipper...somethings wrong. "

" What is it? " The male twin asked in concern.

" Look... " Adam showed the male twin what he was talking about. One of the symbols was missing. " King Ramses isn't on here anymore. There were four symbols. And now there's three. "

" Yeah you're right. Where did it go? " Dipper wondered as they heard the door to the bathroom open with the duo getting back to the table.

" Okay, we got to get that thing out of here. " The male pine twin whispered.

" But how are we gonna do that? Stan see's this thing as a lottery ticket. He ain't gonna hand it over quietly. " Adam exclaimed pointing out the truth.

" I don't know. We'll have to think something and fast. " Dipper replied as he began to think up different ideas.

" Sheesh, where did all this fog come from? " Mabel asked looking outside the window. In curiosity Adam and Dipper went over to see what she was talking about and indeed their was a large amount of fog in the area.

" This is weird. We never get fog like this in the summer. " Once Adam said that all the sudden a series of scratching noises were heard coming from the front door like a bunch of cats wanting to get in scaring the crap out of them.

" What was that? " Adam asked entirely creeped out by the noise as it then continued to pick up.

" The heck is that noise?! " Stan asked looking over to the trio who shrugged their shoulders. " Fine I'll go check. "

In the distance stood a figure completely wrapped in bandages, wearing some sort of robe with two glowing green eyes shining through.

" Return the slab. "

" What? I can hear you! " Stan replied as he readjusted his hearing aids.

" Return the slab! Or suffer my curse. "

" If your trying to trick me it ain't working! " Stan retorted.

" Tonight. You will be visited by three plagues. Each one worst then the last. Return the slab. " The entity said.

" Ha! Nice try! " The old man said before he slammed the door. " I mean come on! That costume was so cheap! I could see the zipper on that thing! " Stan exclaimed as Adam looked over in the slabs direction and saw another symbol fade off of it.

" I just got a real bad feeling all the sudden? " The teen exclaimed as a single drop of water touched his nose. " Huh? " Adam looked up the ceiling and saw that drops of water were starting to come down.

" Mabel did you leave the bathtub running or something? " Dipper questioned not diverting his gaze from what was happening.

" No I didn't. " Mabel replied as the dripping rate increased soon turning into heavy rain. All of the sudden cracking noises were heard as large amounts of water started to burst out of the walls through photo frames, the animals heads and all the clocks including a large amount of water pouring from down stairs instantly starting to flood the entire lower areas of the Mystery Shack causing everyone to scream.

" Everyone! Get up to the stairs! " Adam Yelled.

Following what he said everyone quickly went up the stairs to quickly avoid the increasing water filling the inside of the Mystery Shack before the attic comes into view showing them all wash up inside by the force of the water.

" Were not gonna make it! " Mabel cried out as they all did their best to keep their heads above the water as best as they could.

" Just hang on guys! " Adam yelled out as he then took a deep breath and dunk down into the water. Knowing he didn't have much time and air Adam swam for his life through the room as fast as he could to get down to the stairs. Second by second he was slowly loosing air and fast he had to move. He then grabbed a nearby floating meat hammer and swam towards the nearest window he could swim to. The water was now starting to get to him, he had to do whatever he was gonna do or drown, so he went to the window and started to hit the window repeatedly.

" Adam hurry! " Dipper cried out as he submerged underwater along with his relatives.

Down at the living room Adam kept hitting the window and with each hit it cracks began to form. The teen was now over his limit as he then hit the glass with everything he had left and at last. He succeeded. the glass had shattered instantly letting large amounts of water pour of the Mystery Shack making the teen gasp now he was able to breath again and began to cough up the water from his lungs.

" Oh come on " King Ramses said from the sidelines in disbelief.

Back in the attic everyone was recapturing their breath while coughing do the amounts of water that went into their body. Running was then heard coming from down stairs and to the attic.

" Is everyone okay?! " The teen frantically asked.

" Yeah...somehow... " Dipper replied between in and out of breath.

" Adam you saved our lives! " Mabel cried out happily in relief that they were all still alive thanks to the teens hard effort.

" Don't get all excited yet Mabel, " Adam told her. " Were not out of the woods yet. "

" Return the slab! " The wailing voice of King Ramses was heard from outside the shack making everyone look outside to see the spirit.

" Where's my money then!? " Stan retorted.

" So are we gonna be okay? " Mabel asked.

" No. " Adam spoke up. " Ramses said that until, Stan returns the slab we would be visited by three plagues. It all makes sense now! The first symbol was Rameses coming to warn us, the ripples meant rain, leading to flooding. Who know's what the hell else can happen?! " Adam exclaimed in frustration and looked towards his boss.

" Stan just give it back to Ramses! " Adam pleaded. " It belongs to him! "

" Not until I get my money! " The man argued.

" Uh, guys... " Dipper spoke up now noticing another symbol had just disappeared and it was the record player. " Something else is coming! " Everyone suddenly grew tense already fearing what could possibly happen next. But much to their surprise nothing happened at all confusing them all greatly.

(Now inserting King Ramses's Song.)

" That wasn't so ba-Ahhhh! " Mabel cutted off her sentence replacing it with a scream as all the sudden loud annoying music was suddenly heard causing everyone to cover their ears.

" Oh my god! " Stan cried out as he then turned off his hearing aids while his niece, nephew and resident were all suffering from the terrible music that was playing.

" Turn it off! Turn it off! " Mabel cried out on the top of her lungs doing everything she could to block out the noise. " Make it stop! "

" Dipper! " Adam managed to scream through the terrible music. " Come on! " The teen instructed as they dashed down stairs immediately searching through everything in the Mystery Shack.

Dipper was throwing everything off the shelves and in the closets, tossing all clothes aside frantically looking for the source of the terrible noise. Adam was searching through the exhibits turning everything over and pushing anything aside while he continued to run while covering his ears.

Dipper is now seen going through a few rooms tearing everything apart, throwing all kinds of stuff aside. Adam was doing the same thing, he was running for his life before he then dashed outside and looked through all the nearby places near the Mystery Shack including the outhouse before he then looks behind a rock and right there was a record player playing the god awful song.

Without any other second thought Adam busted out the hammer from earlier and quickly hammered the shit out of the machine silencing it for good and making the music stop.

(Song now gone)

Once he was satisfied with the smashing Adam then sighed in relief. " Phew. "

Inside of the Mystery Shack everyone was now in the living room looking outside to see Ramses was still there. " Return the slab! "

" Grunkle Stan what are you waiting for?! Just give it to him! " Dipper pleaded to his great uncle who then opened the door.

" Alright! But a million is as low as I'll go! Final offer! " The old man said as Ramses raised his arms into the air. With Dipper now noticing the last symbol of the relic had now faded away meaning that the third plague was coming.

" The last symbol disappeared! " Dipper exclaimed in terror and quickly headed over to one of the books he was reading. " Come on, come on, where is it?! I know that bug looked familiar, " He said before he gasped upon the bug symbol that matched on the slab. " First plague, flooding. Second plague, loud noise. And that bug on there was...Locust...Oh no. " Dipper breathed as he looked out the window to see Adam coming back to the Mystery Shack and opened the window. " Adam! Get inside now! "

" Dipper what's the matter?! " Adam asked wondering why he was so worked up before he heard a faint buzzing noise behind him in the distance that continued to grow louder. " What's that noise? " He asked himself and then turned around before his eyes widened in shock and fear upon seeing a massive swarm of insects heading in his direction. " Holy shit! " He screamed out threw the hammer aside and dashed back indoors like a bat out of hell.

From the outside the swarm was on feeding frenzy devouring everything insight. Such as a few tree leaving nothing behind, same going for the outhouse, and the golf carts including the Stan Mobile leaving only the tires.

" There eating everything! " Mabel cried out as the buzzing was heard from above and outside it shows that the swarm was circling around the shack waiting for the moment to engulf the entire wooden structure.

" Return the slab! " King Ramses continued pushing his warnings more and more while in the inside everyone was petrified by what was happening. That was until Adam growled in anger and looked towards the elder pines.

" That's it Stan give me that damn thing! " Adam yelled out as then began a tug of war with his boss who refused to let it go.

" Not a chance Adam! " The old argued as the tug of war continued on with each side refusing to let go of the old relic going backwards bumping into the walls and knocking over furniture while unaware that the swarm was slowly descending over their home.

" Return the slab! "

" Let go! " Stan yelled with the tug of war still going on with neither side refusing to let their grip loosen.

" No you let it go! " Adam argued. " Were about to die if we don't give it back to Ramses! "

As Stan was about to reply and continue the struggle they two of them had stopped after hearing buzzing noises up above them and before they knew it the locusts had already reached to the living room level causing the twins to scream in terror as the insects inched closer and closer to them.

" Okay! Okay! You can have it! " Stan yells out as he finally lets go of the relic.

" Hey Ramses! " Adam called out to the spirit. " You want this?! Then take it! " The teen yelled out before he heaved out the window breaking the glass in the process and just like that the swarm of locusts had suddenly disappeared leaving the Mystery Shack nearly engulfed by the hungry swarm leaving Adam now fresh out of breath.

" Is...is it over? " Mabel asked now opening her eyes hopping that she would here the word she so desperately wanted to hear.

" Yeah. " Adam answered her question making her sigh in relief before the female twin had fainted from stress and exhaustion. " Okay, now I'm gonna make a call. " Adam said.

The next morning after the ordeal of last night the Mystery Shack had surprisingly returned to normal despite it being nearly devoured by the locust swarm. In fact, everything was back to the way it was, everything was back even the golf carts and the Stan Mobile with the outhouse included.

And as of right now Adam was in his pj's watching tv with the pine twins who were also in their respective pj's.

From the tv Professor Frizz's voice was heard. " At long last, after many weeks of searching, the eligbley 'cursed slab' has been returned to King Ramses crypt, where it will and shall remain in antiquity for all time. "

" Well, I'm glad that's over. " Adam said as he turned off the tv. " But one things for sure, I don't I wanna go to Egypt in a few years after what happened last night. "

" Yep, same here. " Dipper agreed. " By the way, did you really turn down a million dollars? "

" Yeah. I don't that, because I got you guys instead. "

" Awww, Adam, hugs! " Mabel said before she did just that making the teen chuckle nervously as Soos then came in appearing to be looking for something.

" Hey morning Soos. What are you looking for? " The teen questioned.

" I'm looking for Mr Pine's, but I can't find him anywhere. " The handyman replied.

" I don't know where he is, I saw him last night after we went to bed. " Dipper confirmed before they all shrugged their shoulders.

The crypt of King Ramses now comes into view closing in on a single corner showing the slab. However something was different as it shows no longer Ramses on it but instead Stan who's screaming for his life.

" There ain't no such thing as curses! " His voice echoed through the tomb along with Ramses song heard in the background for one last time as the screen turns black.
