Happy Halloween! It's mean your main man G King filling in for Vincent Price, because well...he's dead. But he was defiantly a true horror movie icon, and it's a shame people lose someone like that.
Not to mention some honorable mentions in great names of horror, such as the Unholy Three. Lon Chaney Senior the man of a thousand faces, who's recognizable for the Hunchback of Notredam and The Phantom of the Opera. Borris Carloff who's most famous roll was playing Frankenstein's monster, The Mummy, let's not forget the man who's most iconic for playing Dracula, Bella Lugosi. Not to mention the other top monsters standing alongside them, Claude Rains who played as the Invisible Man and greatly known for his role in Casablanca. Then there's the underwater actor who played as The Gillman Riccou Browning.
Let's also not forget Lon Chaney's son, Lon Chaney Junior who played as the Wolfman, all of these are some of horror movie icons most well known actors and are great movies to watch during October.
And now, here's something I've been greatly looking forward to, now I would've posted this up sooner, but with fucking P.G.E constantly shutting off power because of weather warnings, it's been a tricky.
But luckily, we got a generator and that's how I've managed to finish writing this chapter. So without further ado, let's get this party started and not keep the gang waiting.
Chapter 11
Summerween
Our story begins with Stan driving up into a parking lot, parking in a handicap spot and drove over the curb screeching the car to a halt. Everyone then exited out of the car with Stan speaking up. " There it is. The Summerween super store! " He said pointing out to the said store with Halloween decorations and a sign that said the name of the store itself.
" Wait. Summer what? " Dipper was greatly confused.
" Summerween. The people of Gravity Falls celebrates it twice a year. " Stan said as he pulled out a calendar from his pocket and pointed at the exact day. " And woulnd't you know it, its today! "
" Stan do always carry that calendar everywhere you go? " Adam asked with a raised eyebrow.
The man paused before answering. " Yes.
" Summerween? " Mabel was a bit unsure of this holiday. " Something about this feels unnatural. "
Soos and Adam looked down to the twins. " There's free candy. "
" Not to mention, anything goes when you dress up. " Adam added now perking up their interest's greatly.
" TO THE COSTUME ISLE! " The twins cried out as Adam ran alongside Dipper, while he was pushing a wheelbarrow that had Mabel riding in it wearing Groucho glasses. While they raced over to their destination Soos was tinkering with one of bowls that had a talking skull inside and pressed it making it tell a corny joke.
" I'd lend you a hand, but I don't seem to have any! " The skull cackled away making him laugh.
" This guy, tells it like it is. " He then reached over to press it again.
" Sir? " A voice asked getting his attention to see a female employee wheeling a few boxes bearing an annoyed look on her face. " Could, you please stop pushing that? "
" Ma'm, make these heads less hilarious and you got yourself a deal. " Soos replied back and pressed the skull again making it cackle and the woman groan in annoyance passing by Stan who was eyeing a barrel full of fake blood and picked it up.
" When the children come to my door tonight, they're gonna run away screaming from Stan Pines, Master of Fright! " As he did this he spotted a woman who had her baby strapped to her back. " BOO! " This caused the infant to cry while he laughed away showing he enjoyed scaring children of all ages.
Nearby at the checkout counter the same lady from earlier looked to see the group was causing chaos through the store. Soos was pressing multiple skulls making them cackle, Dipper and Mabel coming around the corner crashing into some Jacko-melons while the barrel of fake blood Stan held was dripping, while Adam was carrying bags full of candy for the trick-or-treaters and groaned upon one of the bags ripping.
The lady's right eye twitched from all of the noise and finally she had enough and reached for a walkie. " Have the police eject the pines family from the store. "
" NOT TODAY! " Stan yelled and slammed down a smoke bomb onto the floor.
" My eyes! " The worker screamed blinded by the flash and smoke giving the Pines and Soos the chance to make their escape running out of the door with some Summerween stuff. As the smoke cleared Adam sighed shaking his head and pulled out two hundreds from his wallet and placed it onto the counter.
" Keep the change. " He said before going off after them to catch up. As she was putting the money in the cash register she flinced upon hearing the sound of Stan backing up into a telephone poll causing it to break and fall onto a large inflatable jack0-melon making it deflate.
" Let's move! " Stan cried out and sped off.
" I hate Summerween. " The worker groaned.
Now inserting Gravity Falls opening theme music
We first see a view of trees with a water fall in the distance followed by the gas station that has the large wooden lumber jack near it before we see the Gravity Falls water tower.
Before long we see a Speedy Beaver bus drive off dropping the twins in front of the Mystery Shack with Stan appearing like a magician and motions over to the building as the S of the building falls off.
Adam now comes into view giving the twins the tour showing off different attractions before it shows the trio with Stan out in the rain examining a bigfoot footprint that's inside of an even larger footprint.
A brief forest trail is shown in speed motion with bigfoot running through as it shows the weather vane on the mystery shack that has a question mark and four letters, w,h,a & t spelling out: What?
DIPPER
We see the boy holding onto a candle holder using it to examine some strange symbols in some kind of cave before turning around and was frightened to see a demon skeleton causing him to drop the candle.
MABEL
The female pine twin is rubbing her cheek against her pet pig Waddles before it shows her wearing a sweater that illuminated stars and her name thanks to it being plugged into an outlet.
STAN
The twins great uncle is shown running while holding onto a cash register not caring if money is flying out of it before it shows him sitting on his recliner and shifts his eyepatch over to the other eye.
ADAM
The blonde is seen reading books about the supernatural before it shows him smiling giving an 'okay' sign while holding a magnifying glass in the other hand.
As it begins to end we see the Stan telling everyone a spooky story around a campfire with Soos, Mabel and Dipper buying into it while Wendy nudges Adam with her elbow and rolls her eyes as their unaware that massive bat is seen watching them.
We see Wendy at the counter near the cash register with a glass jar full of eyeballs looking at the viewers, followed by Dipper examining the symbols in the journal while Adam is seen with a pair of eyes right behind him. Then finally we see Adam and the twins minding their own business before everything suddenly begins to float making the Dipper and Adam exchange a quick glance at one another.
Finally we see multiple photo's fall until it shows a picture the main Mystery Shack crew posing in front of a tree with a hole in it with Adam seen kneeling down with his arms right over the twins shoulders before we see the main title.
Theme end
The Mystery Shack now comes into view decorated with various Summerween decorations mainly focused on the front entrance. Everyone was currently doing their own thing, the twins were plotting, Stan was getting dressed up ready to scare children while Adam was putting the finishing touches on his costume.
" There we go, all done. "
" Gotta say... " An all to familiar voice said and it was revealed to be the entity who was currently eating some treats crunching loudly. " Humans are always afraid of even the most simplest things and they have a celebration that makes them afraid? Even that's odd to me. " He said before pulling out a caramel apple from out of nowhere and began to enjoy eating it slowly.
" When is it ever not odd to you? " The blonde questioned.
" You tell me, humans have always been weird. Yet for some reason I like watchin' them. " The entity replied back finishing off it's apple and pulled out another and groaned in annoyance. " To bad others can't see me, I'd fit in pretty well. "
" Yeah, for like only two nights a year and this the only place you can. "
" Makes me wonder if there's another place where celebrate this holiday three times a year? Now that'd be fun. You'd just have to move to that place and come up with another-. "
" Please be quiet now. " Adam told the entity as he left the room.
" What? We were finally having a normal conversation for once. Eh, whatever, you're no fun. Hope I get some 'entertainment' for tonight. " He said before eating another caramel apple. " Mmm-hmm. I just can't get enough of these things. "
As Adam went down the stairs he noticed Dipper and Mabel were in the living room while Soos was sitting on the recliner dressed up like a super hero. But to Adam, he reminded him more of a lucha libre wrestler.
" Hey, guys whatcha' doing? " The blonde asked entering the room that was full of different supplies.
" Were plotting our trick or treat route. " Dipper asked showing them a map of the neighborhood they were going to go that night.
" I'm so excited! " Mabel exclaimed.
" We're gonna have the best costumes, get the most candy... "
" And have the biggest stomach aches ever! " Mabel finished her brothers sentence.
Both " Yeah! " They both high fived.
" Dude, I've never seen you guys so pumped. " Soos exclaimed.
" Yeah, you two both love Halloween don't ya? " Adam added.
" Well, back at home me Dipper kind of like the 'Kings of Trick or Treating'. " Mabel said as she was passed a book titled: TRICK OR TREATING MEMORIES. She then opened it up showing them both at the age of three dressed up as cats. She flipped another page showing Dipper as salt and Mabel as Pepper and then shows them in the 6th grade as zombies. " Twins in costumes. The people eat it up. "
" Heh, wow, that's impressive. " Adam commented as he looked through the photo's.
" Well, you dudes better be careful out there. " Soos warned. " It's a night of ghouls and goblins. " He puts down the bowl and reached for a flashlight. " Not to mention... " He turns off the light and shines the flash light in front of his face much like you would when telling a scary story. " The Summerween Trickster! "
" The Summer what, what-what? " Mabel was very confused.
" It's just some fake legend the people made up. " Adam said with Soos quickly shushing him.
" Hush! The trickster goes door to door, so the legend goes, eating children who lack the Summerween spirit. "
" Well, you don't have to worry about us. We've got spirit to go around. " Dipper said popping a piece of candy into his mouth and began to hack and cough from the taste while Adam turned the lamp back on. " Oh, what is this stuff? I've never even heard of some of these brands. Sand Pop? Gummy Chairs? Mr. Adequate Bar? Adam why'd you buy these? "
" Because there the only thing candy related they had in the store. And I mean, look at the name of these things, Homework the candy? Count Discount? And look at this one, Sour tongues? "
" This is all cheapo loser candy! " Mabel exclaimed in disappointment while Soos grabbed a gummy shaped like a pair of lips while Adam one shaped like a brain.
" Quiet your discontect children! " Soos scolded while Adam went up stairs eating his treat to put on his costume. " lest the trickster overhear
" Your cape is caught in your fly Soos. " Dipper said making the handy man look down to see that one of the corners was sticking out of his zipper.
" Touche. " Soos said before eating the lip gummy while Dipper went over to the table near the window placing the bowl on it and used a chair as a stool.
" Goodbye, loser candy! " The male twin said as he threw out the candy that was terrible into the garbage can outside unaware there was someone watching breathing very heavily like a serial killer stalking their soon to be victim. As the boy continued throwing out the candy the doorbell was heard.
" Trick or treater! Quick! Give them that terrible candy! " Stan called out and that's what Dipper went to do.
" Happy Summerw- " He gasped in shock for it was not who was watching him but instead, it was Wendy with Robbie. Robbie was wearing a purple skeleton themed hoodie while Wendy didn't have her lumber hat and instead had on a yellow shirt and purple dress with black boots.
" Sup, squirt? "
" Hey, Dipper! "
As Dipper was gonna greet them he suddenly froze upon seeing a figure standing right behind the two teenagers breathing heavily causing them to freeze. The figure then leaned into Robbies ear.
" Hey... I'M GONNA PUT MY PAIN INTO YOUR SOUL! " The whisper turned into a loud violent scream causing Robbie to scream as well falling onto the floor also starling Wendy including Dipper.
Right behind them was a guy with spiked white hair, dressed up wearing a brown and orange leather gasmask with green glowing eyes. His clothing only consisted of a orange pants with a spiked plate strapped to his right leg and a small pillow strapped to his left. He also had a bloodied wrappings around his right arm with a black fingerless glove, while the left had bandages around his forearm with a metal bolt plate strapped to it and his knuckle. All that remained was two leather straps that were over his shoulders and there were black marker drawings on his chest making him look like he had a six pack.
As the emo was shaking in fear the figure brought out an axe, that had an actual saw blade tainted with blood. " DO YOU WANT TO PLAY IN THE RIBCAGE SPINTER!? " The psycho asked screaming into Robbie's face.
" No! Please don't! " The emo begged for his life and instantly the figure laughed his ass off.
" Hahahahaha! That was priceless! Absolutely priceless! " The figure said slapping his right knee they now knew who that voice belonged to.
" Whoa! Adam is that you? " She got a reply back from the psycho who lifted up his mask revealing his identity.
" Who else would it be? " He replied with a proud smirk.
" Your costume is awesome! " Wendy exclaimed as she was checking him out. " I think know where it's from, but I don't remember his name. "
" Krieg from Borderlands 2. "
" Oh, yeah. I remember now. " The red head said.
" Tch, loser. " Robbie scowled as he got back over to his girl friend.
" Says the cheap rocker who screams like a little girl. No offense, Wendy. " He said glancing over to her.
" None taken. "
" So, what brings you two here? " Adam asked as he walked over to Dipper
" Yeah, wh-what's up guys? " The male twin stuttered.
" Ugh. I left my jacket here, again. " Wendy answered as she grabbed it off the antler coat rack where she always puts it.
" Hey, what's with the candy? " Robbie asked Dipper who was holding the said bowl. " You going trick-or-treating or something? "
" Well, actually, I...uh... " Dipper stuttered and stopped upon what he heard Wendy said.
" Shut up, Robbie, of course he's not going trick-or-treating. "
" I don't see what's wrong with it. " Adam said shrugging his shoulders. " Besides let him be. Trick or Treating is an important part of growing up. "
" No, Adam they're right. Uh... " Dipper quickly hid the book behind his back chuckling nervously. " Yeah! Trick-or-treating is for babies! I guess... "
The blonde raised an eyebrow but grabbed the candy bowl. " You both want some candy? It is Summerween after all. " Adam offered.
" Not thanks. " Wendy replied back kindly declining the offer. " You guys should come to this party with us. "
" Party? " Adam questioned. " It ain't gonna be like the last time we hung out right? " He said because it was true the last time he hung out with Wendy and her friends they were nearly trapped by two elderly ghosts if it wasn't for Dipper dressing up as a lamb.
" No. Tambry's parents are out of town and it's gonna be off the chain. "
" Not surprised you losers didn't hear about it. " Robbie sneered passing them a flier that read: TAMRY's SUMMERWEEN PARTY. It also listed two things with skulls replacing the numbers. 1. Not S&P Approved. 2. No photo's better end up online! It also had the time. 9:00. As they were checking it out both teens left the shack and headed over to Robbies van.
" Hey, guys wait! " Dipper called out running out the door. " Maybe We'll see you at the party! "
" If your not to busy playing dress up. " Robbie commented with Wendy elbowing him.
" It's at 9:00! Don't forget! " The red head shouted out.
" We'll try not to! " Adam replied back as they drove off. Once they were gone he looked to Dipper who was glancing over at the party flier and his trick-or-treat memory book of him and his sister. " Dipper, are you seriously gonna do this to your sister? " Adam asked scaring Dipper who didn't know the teen was right there.
" But Adam- "
" No, your not. End of discussion. " He said in a parental tone. " Just this one time, take Mabel's feelings into consideration. Look, tell you what, if we still have time after trick-or-treating. We'll drop by there okay?. " He said before entering the Mystery Shack. " I HAVE THE SHINIEST MEAT BICYCLE! Good, I'm still into character. " leaving Dipper sighing away as he was conflicted with his choices.
By now everyone was now in costume, such as Stan icluding Candy and Grenda including Kylie who was gonna join them in tonight's trick-or-treating.
" Grunkle Stan, Adam, these are my best friends. Candy and Grenda. " Mabel said introducing her friends Such as Candy who was a piece of taffy while Grenda was a witch. As for the female twin she was dressed as strawberry jelly showing that this years theme was strawberry and jelly.
" Hey, what about me? " Kylie asked feeling left out and was dressed up like a werewolf wearing shredded clothes.
" Oh, sorry, and that's Kylie. "
" I am so sweet, I can eat myself. " Candy commented.
" Hello Mr Pines and by the way Adam, you gotta a cool costume. " Grenda waved.
Despite her deep manly voice Adam just simply ignored it just to be polite while Stan who was dressed as a vampire thought differently. " You got a cold honey? Something wrong with your voice their? " Adam elbowed him in the arm.
" What do you mean? Why would you say that? " Grenda asked sounding a bit confused but Stan didn't bother to answer instead he flung his cape and walked off.
" Just ignore what he said. And thanks for the comment on my costume. " Adam said to Grenda hoping to get her mind off of what their care taker/boss had said.
" Is Waddle's coming with us? " Candy asked looking at Mabel.
" I wish he could, but he's got some very important meetings to attend. " Almost on que her pet pig ran up to her wearing a tuxedo that covered his front legs and was picked up. " File these documents under 'I' for I have a curly tail! " She said making a corny joke making the female twin and her friends laugh while Kylie was confused looking at Adam who shrugged his shoulders.
" What about your brother? " Grenda asked.
" Yeah, is he comin' too? " Kylie added.
" Oh, man, guys, just wait until you see Dipper's costume. It's amazing! " Mabel said showing she was ready for tonight.
" Speaking of which...Hey! Come on man! Were all waiting on you! " Adam called out and footsteps were heard coming down the stairs.
" Here he comes now. " Mabel said
" Wait, he's going as himself? " Kylie was confused raising an eyebrow with everyone else feeling the same way.
" That is a very good Dipper costume. " Candy said. Okay, so not everyone.
" What the hey-hey bro-bro? Where's your costume? " Mabel asked walking up to him clearly confused at what she was seeing.
" Look, I can't go trick-or-treating. I'm uh...really sick " He did some fake coughs making Adam face palm knowing what he was trying to do. " Must have been that bad candy. " He lays down on the floor. " You go on without me. "
" Fight through it man! " Mabel encouraged her brother appearing to buy the whole act. " Where's your Summerween spirit? " As he was gonna reply pounding was heard on the door. Immediately Dipper was the one to answer it.
" Trick or Treat! " A deep voice said greeting the boy. He looked up to see a extremely tall man with twig like arms and legs kneeling down with a bag. He wears a patchwork suit jacket, a yellow mask of a smiling jack-o'-lantern face with one tooth, and a shoddy brown hat with a darker brown band similar in style to one often worn by Old Man McGucket. The weirdest thing was his skin was colored purple.
" Dude. Really? You're a little old for this, man. Sorry. "
" But wait...I..." Dipper didn't listen and slammed the door on him.
" Dipper that was rude. " Adam commented.
" Yeah, why'd you close the door? " Mabel added.
" I told you Mabel, I'm just not feeling it tonight. " He said and did another fake cough making Adam roll his eyes in annoyance.
" I think a little trick-or-treating will make you feel better. " Mabel said still buying the act.
" I'm not Trick-or-Treating! " Dipper exclaimed as the pounding was heard on the door again making him open it and told the guy off. " Look, man, just go to another house! " He was getting annoyed and slammed the door once again.
" Dipper! Where's your Summerween hospitality!? " Mabel asked not understanding his sudden attitude while everyone else was looking at him.
" Yeah, that's just cold. " Kylie added. " What's the matter with you? " The pounding was heard again only it was louder sounding very angry.
" I'm not getting that. " Dipper said.
" Move over! " Adam said pushing Dipper over to the side having enough of his attitude and opened the door. " Sir are okay? Look I'm very sorry about my friends behavior. Why don't I give you some- "
" Silence! " The figure shouted pointing at Adam in a dramatic pose pointing right at him. " You have insulted me! And for this you pay, with your lives. " He exclaimed the last part and leaned in closer.
" Sir I said I was sorry, what do I have to- "
" What a cute little mask! You're a funny guy! " Mabel commented upon seeing the man who crouched down and made his way inside to reveal he was more taller then they realized.
" Funny, am I? " The figure asked raising his arms as if he was ready to attack until...
" Trick-or-treat! " A random chubby kid dressed as pirate said coming up. " My name is Gorney. " All of the sudden the figure picked up the boy and a large mouth appeared underneath the mask full of teeth and threw him inside. " Remember me! " The boy cried out as he was eaten making everyone scream.
" Gorney! " Grenda cried out dramatically.
" Why did you that!? " Adam said stomping a foot forward. " He had nothing to do with us! "
" To make my point. " The figure replied. " There's only one way for you to avoid his fate. " He said tapping on Mabels head causing her to hug Kylie in fear and tapped his fingers slowly. " I need a treat. If you can collect 500 pieces of candy..." He brings out a jack-o'-melon from his clothes and lights it with his thumb. " And bring it to me before the last jack-0'-melon goes out. " He blows the flame out. " I will let you live. "
" 500 treats in one night? That's impossible! " Dipper shouted in disbelief.
" No it's not. Fine. " Adam replied doing his best to keep his cool. " We'll play your game. "
" Hmm...Interesting choice of words. But whatever, the choice is yours children..." He slowly backs out through the door way crouching down to fit through. " You must trick-or-treat...Or die. " The figure then jumped into the air giving off a sinister laugh making the group run out to see him crawling on all fours on the roof of the Mystery Shack and disappeared.
" Oh my Gosh, Mabel, do you know what this means? " Dipper asked in fear.
" I do. " At first she seemed to know exactly what was at stake but she changed the mood. " It means you have to come trick-or-treating! Yay! "
" Who was that guy? " Candy asked.
" That has to be the Summerween Trickster. " Adam spoke up. " That's the means the legend Soos told us about was true! "
" Wait, as in the monster that eats you!? I'm to young to die right now! " Kylie exclaimed in worry as Grenda picked up Dipper and began to shake him.
" What do we do? What do we do!? "
" What's going on out here, dudes? " They turn over to see Soos run out on the porch. " I heard a ruckus. " He chuckles hearing what he just said. " That's a funny word, ruckus. "
They all ran up to him. " Soos! A monster is making us trick or treat, or else he's gonna eat us! " Dipper quickly explained.
" I got a picture! " Candy raises her phone to show she indeed had photo graphic evidence the monster they'd just encountered.
" The Summerween Trickster! " Soos exclaimed in horror. " Oh, man, dude! You guys are in crazy bonkers trouble. "
" Yeah, no duh! " Kylie exclaimed. " Trick-or-treating to collect the most candy is one thing, but even this is too extreme! "
" He's right. " Dipper said anxiously pacing back and fourth. " How are we gonna get that much candy in one night? There's no way! "
Nearby Mabel stood on a bail of hay and clapped his hands rallying everyone together. " Listen up people! " She started. " Now some might say that being cursed by a bloodthirsty holiday monster is a bad thing. "
" I wet myself. " Grenda said.
" But that monster messed with the wrong crew! With Candy's spirit, Grenda's Strength, Dipper's brains, Adam's moxie, Kylie's coolness...th-then...And Soos here. We'll get 500 pieces of candy and have fun doing it, too! Even if it takes all night! "Everyone cheered at Mabel's words of encouragement minus Dipper. " To the streets! "
" All night? B-but I'm sick, remember? " He said and did a fake cough.
" Dipper, what's worse? " Mabel asked with everyone looking at him. " Getting eaten by a horrifying monster or going trick-or-treating with us!? " She said making a sold argument
" Well... " He tried to think of a reply but she wouldn't listen to reason and grabbed him much to Adam's approval.
" Come on! "
Meanwhile with Stan he was putting on some fake sharp fangs all while standing in front of a mirror that was titled: MASTER OF FRIGHT. " Ah, Summerween. Those kids aren't gonna know what hit 'em! " He then hears a bunch of talking being heard from outside. He looks through the glass and sees a few kids walking up to the shack. He then cackles evilly in delight.
The doorbell rings and the kids did their thing. " Trick or treat! "
Stan then comes out to greet five kids each wearing different costumes, two girls, one dressed as a flower, another dressed as a princess. There were also three boys, one dressed a pink rabbit while another was dressed up like a commando with a red bandanna and a dark skinned boy wrapped up as a mummy.
" What can I do for...uh, ugh. Oh, no! No! Augahhh! " All of the skin on his face including his glasses all melted away revealing a skull making the kids scream away in fear. He laughs in satisfaction removing his mask but stopped upon noticing the solider and mummy kid were still there holding out their sacks of candy.
" Can we have candy now? "
Stan was in absolute disbelief. " What's the matter with you kids? That was the scariest thing you've ever seen, right? " The kids glanced at each other and the mummy kid did a 'so-so' motion with his hand. " Well, have you seen...THIS!? " He rips a hole in front of his cloths spilling fake blood pulling out a long row of hotdogs letting them drop onto the porch all while screaming away. " Guts! Real, very real guts! " They were unfazed.
" Uh...We've been watching horror movies since we were, like two years old. " The mummy kid said.
" Yeah. We're not scared. " The army kid added and Stan took that as a challenge.
" Oh, you will be. " He connects the ends of his cape like the vampire he was dressed as narrowing his eyes. " You will be. "
Meanwhile with Adam and the group they were now at town right in the suburbs, a perfect place for them to gather all the candy they needed to get. Everyone was on board, minus Dipper. We now see them making their way through passing by Manly Dan and his sons dressed as Viking's while Sheriff Blubs and Deputy Durland were dressed as one another.
" I don't understand why we can't just buy our candy and be done with it. " Dipper said while pushing the wheelbarrow they got earlier that day.
" That sort of takes the fun out of "Trick-or-treat or die.' " Mabel said.
" I'm trying to take the 'Die' out of 'Trick-or-treat or die.' " Dipper retorted.
" Yeah, well I bet that Trickster is watching us right now. " Adam spoke up keeping an eye out. " If we did buy the candy, he'd know that we didn't do what he asked us to do. We gotta trick-or-treat. He will kill us if we don't play his game. " They then came up to their first house. The home of Lazy Susan standing outside her house on the porch giving out candy to another group of trick-or-treaters. Dressed up as a giant ball of yarn with two cats hanging on her wearing white masks for some reason.
They then came up to her saying. " Trick or treat! "
" Is everybody in costume? " She asked and points to Grenda. " Chimney Sweep. " She points to Soos. " Elephant man. " She points to Candy. " Squeegee. " She points to Adam. " Plumber. " He looks at her in confusion and points to Kylie. " Hairball. " The werewolf was offended by that as she pointed to Mabel. " Ant farm. " She then stops at Dipper. " Oh. And what are you supposed to be? "
" Uh, actually I'm not dressed up as anything. " Dipper said. " We-We're kind of in a hurry here. "
" Oh. I see. " She looked upset upon hearing that and gave everyone one piece of candy minus Dipper and went back in her house. " Enjoy! " The woman yelled as she slammed the door shut on them leaving everyone glaring at Dipper.
" Way to moron. " Kylie insulted the boy as they left the porch leaving to see what they got.
" One piece of black licorice? " Grenda held out her piece of candy.
" I got...one spec of corn candy? " Kylie held out his.
" She gave me a tootsie roll. " Adam said sounding very disappointed.
" Circus peanut? This is loser candy! " Candy exclaimed.
" Six pieces of candy? This is gonna take forever! "
" We've gotta up our game, Dipper! " Mabel said. " You gotta put on your costume! "
" Yeah, what she said. I'd rather not die tonight. " Adam added and fake coughed.
" Oh, really? " A familiar voice asked making them look up to see the Trickster sitting on a street lamp and crawled onto Soos making him shake nervously in fear as it reached into his bucket pulling out a smarties. " Hmm, I seen better. " He says before getting off him and did a backflip while grabbing a jack-o'-melon in the process landing on rooftop across the street. " Tick tock. " He blows out the candle, tucks the fruit into his coat and jumps off the roof disappearing again.
" So, what was that about you being too sick to wear a costume? " Mabel asked.
" Dipper, if you don't put on that costume right now. I'm gonna kill you before that Trickster get's the chance. " Kylie threatened with his claws making Dipper sigh and kicking a pebble.
Back at the Mystery Shack the solider boy and mummy were having enough waiting for what they wanted.
" We want candy! We want candy! " They both chanted with Stan coming out wearing his lazy attire.
" All right! You got me, kids! You guys win. " It was clearly obvious he's been trying to scare them all night, but nothing's worked. " I guess I'm not that scary, you know. You've...You've...Oh, no! " He clutches his chest in pain and all the sudden Waddles comes bursting out Stan's shirt squealing away while he was screaming like a scene from the movie Alien. " Why!? Why is there a pig jumping out of my chest!? "
The two kids exchange a glance having enough of waiting. " Candy. " The mummy kid started. " Can-dy! " The solider growled leaving Stan dumbfounded as Waddles slipped out of Stan's shirt and walked off.
" What scars you two freaks!? " This made the kids exchange a glance and smirked at one another with the soldier boy brining out his phone.
" Here, watch this. " The boy instructed with Stan doing as he said and saw a kitten sleeping on a pillow. " What? What is this? Some kind of...Some kind of kitten or... " The screen changes to a demon screaming scaring the crap out of Stan making him run back inside while the kids laughed. As he caught his breath he looked into his mirror in shame. " What happened to you, Stan Pines? " He asked his reflection. " What happened? "
Meanwhile back with the group Dipper was now finally gonna wear his costume to increase their effort of getting more candy. Mabel of course did the presentation. " Introducing, for the first time in public, ta-da! " She motions over to Dipper who was now dressed as a jar of peanut butter. " Peanut butter and jelly! "
" Aww! " Soos, Adam, Kylie, Grenda, and Candy cooed.
" Huh, they weren't kidding when they said people are crazy about twins costume. " Adam commented.
" I'll say. " Kylie agreed.
" I will make you internet famous. " Candy said bringing out her phone and took a picture.
" Hey! Erase that! " Dipper protested and checked his watch. " Let's just get this over with okay? "
Everyone then chanted Over with as they made their way to the next house.
This time we now see Dipper and Mabel standing in front of a much more shadier looking house with the sister ringing the doorbell.
" Do you really think this is going to make a difference? " Dipper asked but before he could get an answer someone answered the door. It turned out to be the biker Mabel was talking to at the Skull Fracture during their investigation with the murder of Stan's wax double. They then did a little dance.
" Hah a tah, Tah tah ta...TWIIIINNS! " It was silent at first as the biker stared at them before smiling and teared up at the sight and poured the whole bowl of candy into their bag. They ran off smiling thanking him all while he waved them off and his wife came up and hugged up on his arm.
And so the race was finally on to gather 500 pieces of candy. Whenever someone got any they poured it into the wheelbarrow that was pushed by Soos. They all recorded how much they had and during this Candy made a joke about adding herself into the wheelbarrow since her name was 'Candy'. As for getting the most candy the twins were using their cuteness to their advantages making people dump their entire bowls. As for the ones that weren't into cute, thanks to Adam's costume he was able to get a whole bunch with Kylies help. Things were going good, but as they got into the hundreds people were starting to blow out their jack'o-melons to turn in for the night. The group had to work faster because their lives were on the line, ringing every doorbell they could and drying everyone out of whatever candy they had.
After getting some candy from Toby Determined the group was now adding up how much candy they now had.
" Four ninety-seven... " Mabel was doing the counting. " Four ninety-eight, four ninety-nine! We did it! " Mabel cried out happily as everyone cheered in victory for it was close in hand.
" All we need is one more piece of candy! " Kylie commented.
" And it's only 8:30. " Dipper said checking out his watch. " Perfect timing! "
" Oh! Yeah! " Mabel said hugging her brother. " And you're cough went away too. "
" Okay, let's wrap it up tonight. He's gonna be here soon. Soos, go grab you're truck. " Adam commanded.
" Yes sir! " Soos saluted and ran off. " Soos! Away! "
" Come on, " Kylie called out. " Let's go get that final piece. "
" Last one to the final house is a pair of wax lips! " Mabel cried out as she and Candy ran ahead of Grenda.
" Not me! No! " The witch protested with Adam following them leaving Dipper to watch the candy.
" Ah. The perfect time to go to Wendy's party and no one needs to know I went trick-or-treating. " Oh, how wrong he was and how big of a mistake it was to leave him in charge. Robbies van unexpectedly came out of the corner. Seeing this, the boy panicked and pushed the wheelbarrow over into a bush and took off his costume just as the van pulled up to the sidewalk and stood up against the tree acting all cool.
" Oh. Hey, Wendy. " He notices the top of his costume was on the ground. Quickly getting in front of it he pushes it into the bush with his foot. " What's up? "
" Are you coming to the party? " The red head asked.
" What are you doing out here? " Robbie asked in confusion.
" Oh. I'm on my way. I like watching the trick-or-treaters. " He said acting all smug. " Reminds me of when I was a kid. "
" Okay, then, you and Adam are coming, right? " The red head asked.
" Defiantly. Definitely. "
" Cool. See you there! " Wendy waved him off as they drove away unaware that Adam was standing at the light poll...Mable was there too, and she heard the whole thing.
" Later guys! " He said waving them off.
" And now the truth is out. " Adam said making Dipper gasp and turn around to see his sister standing there next to him with a look of betrayal.
" You're going to a party? " As this happened, Kylie, Candy and Grenda came up as her brother began to stutter.
" Well, hey, I..." He didn't get the chance to explain because Mabel threw the last piece hitting him right in the eye.
" That's why you were acting so weird and trying to hurry us! " She was furious. " You're not sick at all! So if it wasn't for this crazy monster..." She walked up to him. " You were gonna ditch me! On our favorite holiday! " She exclaimed leaving the group gasping in shock minus Adam who went up next to her. " What happened to the Dipper who used to love Halloween? "
" Dipper..." Adam looked around for the wheelbarrow. " Where's all the candy!? "
" Relax, relax, " Dipper put his hands up in defense. " I left it right here, behind this bush! " He pushed it aside and knew he was in trouble now. " Oh no! " The wheelbarrow was pushed off a ledge and all the candy inside was spilled into the river.
As everyone gasped in shock Kylie clenched his fists in anger. " You... " Having enough of Dipper's stupidness and reaching his final string he punched the boy. " IDIOT! " Adam quickly grabbed him and had Grenda hold him back.
While Dipper stuttered and held his cheek to hold back the pain it was now Adams turn. " HOW STUPID CAN YOU BE DIPPER!? " The blonde asked gripping him by his collar right into his face. " OUR LIVES ARE ON THE LINE! BECAUSE OF YOUR CHILDISH CRUSH ON WENDY! AND YOU JUST FORFEITED OUR THEM! "
" Uh...Guys... " Grenda spoke up getting their attention and their worst fears came true.
" Oh no! All the jack-o-melons are out! " Mabel said and it was true, the whole neighborhood was completely dark showing everyone had turned in for the night. That also meant, that the Summerween Trickster would come and collect what they agreed on.
" Look! " Kylie yelled out pointing to a single jack-o-melon that was still lit about to be blown out by old man mcgucket chucking away. " Good night! " As he inhaled everyone panicked and ran over to stop him.
" Stop! " Mabel cried out.
" What!? " He couldn't hear what she said and grew confused by the number of kids talking to him at once. " Huh? What's happening? "
" Just don't blow out that candle! " Dipper said before he brought out a hearing pipe
" WHAT!? "
" Don't blow out that candle! " The male twin yelled into the pipe.
" I'm Old Man McGucket! " He inhailed again ready to blow it out.
" Wait! " Dipper tried to stop him but Grenda beat him to it by elbowing him into a nearby junk car catching the fruit in the process. " Sorry. " While making monkey noises the old man made his way into his junkyard.
" Whew. That was close. " Dipper said before everyone sighed in relief only for the candle to go out.
" Uh-oh. " Mabel said and on que they felt the same familiar presence they've been fearing all night.
Down the street the Trickster made his way down and stopped right underneath the light coming from a street lamp. " Knock, knock. " Grenda dropped the melon causing it to shatter as they all slowly backed into the junkyard with Adam getting in front of them all while the monster tapped it's fingers together. " So children. Where's my candy? "
Dipper ran up. " I swear! We had all 500 pieces! Look! It's down there somewhere. We can still get it. " The trickster suddenly grew way taller along with it's arms along with the back of it's shirt ripping apart.
" I'm afraid it's too late. That was your last chance. " In anger Dipper threw the final piece of candy they had right into the tricksters throat but it appeared to be absorbed into his body. He then began to laugh evily as four extra set of arms sprouted out from it's back.
" Everyone run! " Adam yelled as he and the rest of the group made a run for it only to be snagged on one by one. As Mabel ran she tripped on a rock and fell before getting grabbed including Dipper.
" Adam! " The twins cried out.
" Dipper! Mabel! " But before he could try and help them the trickster grabbed him and made a monstrous laugh as they were now within his grasp. That was until a truck drove right through him causing the trickster to scatter into a million pieces all over the street dropping them.
" Ow... " Kylie groaned rubbing his head.
" We're alive! " Grenda cheered. " Yeah! " Nearby the truck had screeched to a halt stopping in front of the junk yard. The driver was none other then Soos who hadn't expected what he did to happen.
" Hahahaha! Great timing man! " Adam yelled as he and the twins ran over to them.
" That wasn't, like, a regular pedestrian, was it? "
" It was the monster! " Mabel replied.
" Thanks, Soos. " Dipper thanked. " Whew, I'm just glad it's over. Right? " Wrong, Mabel was still mad at him and walked away getting into the truck.
" When we get back, your grounded. " Adam said shaking his head in disappointment because of what he did nearly costed them their lives and got into the back seat of the truck along with Kylie, Candy and Grenda while the twins were up front with Soos.
" Did everyone remember to put on their seat belts? " Soos asked getting a reply "Yes!" From everyone minus Mabel who nodded her head. " Let's go! " They drove off. Currently Dipper was hanging his head down in shame, and not to mention, Mabel his own sister wouldnt even look at him showing just how angry she was. He also noticed her elbow was bruised up, which was most likely a result from tripping earlier.
" Hey, are you okay? " She turned her head away from him in response. " There are probably some bandages back at the Shack. " He said but got no response. As the night had seeminlgy finally come to an end, Mabel noticed something. There were pieces of purple flesh flying through the air in a gust of wind. She looked through the window and her eyes widened in fear.
" Uh...Guys! " This made everyone look back to see what she was worried about and they couldn't believe what they were seeing. The torn pieces of flesh that were scattered alll over the street were molding back together into the Trickster. Once it was revived he jumped forward and landed on the roof of the truck denting it up causing everyone to scream. It was now choas as they were speeding down the street, Soos was trying his best to shake it off but the Trickster laughed showing how much he was enjoying them trying to escape. After a brief struggle they managed to get the trickster off making it hit a telephone poll causing them to swerve hitting some garbage cans and ended up right in the parking lot of the Summerween Superstore.
" Soos! Hit the brakes! " Adam yelled out as they were speeding right towards the entrance crashing right through it and into a nearby shelf. " Is everyone okay!? " The blonde asked as he helped everyone get out of the truck.
" I think so! " Kylie replied as then noticed the Trickster was outside the store. " Crap! It's coming! "
" We have to hide! " Everyone agreed with what Dipper said and made a run for it to hide from the monster as it entered the store. It first went over to the truck tearing off the door to reveal they weren't in there and began to search for them.
" It's blocking the only exit! " Dipper said as he and his sister were hiding behind a shelf and made their way over to the other side all while making sure not to get spotted and kept quiet as possible managing to get into an empty shellf squeezing inside. " Everyone stay quiet! " He whispered.
" Oh. Now, you're worried about the monster. " Mabel said sarcastically. " I thought all you cared about was Wendy. "
" Mabel, you know that's not true. " He stopped talking as the Trickster walked right by them. " I felt like I was getting a little too old to go trick-or-treating. "
" That's why we need to trick or treat Dipper. We're getting older, there's not that many Halloweens left. " She said before sighing sadly because it was true, once they were adults, they couldn't do it anymore hitting her brother really hard. While in there thoughts the trickster roared meaning it was still looking for them.
" We have to escape. " Candy said.
" What if it sees us? " Grenda asked.
" If only there was something we could use to cover our bodies and faces with. You know, like a disguise of some kind. " Soos said as he was hiding in a costume rack alongside Adam and Kylie making them all exchange a glance.
After getting their disguises on they were now acting as prop displays in the shelves. The kids were dressed as skeletons wearing cloaks, Soos as a Gorilla along with Adam with the trickster passing right by them. As it was gone they all switched over to another shelf with Soos holding out a Sale sign while Adam held a little money sign watching as the trickster headed off to another direction passing by a shirt ring that had Candy and Grenda attached to it. With the trickster somewhere else in the store they made their last ditch effort to escape.
" This way! " Dipper led the way. " Almost there! "
" Wait? Aren't we one short? " Kylie asked making them turn around.
" Soos! " Adam took off his mask calling out to his best friend who was reaching to touch talking skull like he did earlier that day. " Don't do it! " They all went up against the counter to stay out of the tricksters sight.
" Soos! Don't you dare! " Mabel told him.
" Sorry dude, todays been way stressful. I need some levity. " He replied despite their protests and pressed the skull only for their to be sound much to their relief.
" Oh, thank goodness. It was out of batteries. " Mabel said but they noticed he had gotten some batteries. " Soos! No! " He ignored their protests and placed the batteries into the skull and pressed it.
" No matter the score, I'm always ahead! " It said making a corny joke making Soos laugh and slap his knee. " This cackling head's the voice of a generation. " As he said this he heard a growl right behind him. He turned around to see the Trickster with his mouth open drooling green slime. Despite this and how scared he was, the handyman pressed onto the skull before getting eaten much to Adams shock.
" Soos! NOOOO! " Adam cried out and in anger he grabbed his buzz saw axe and charged at it. " Revenge! "
" Revenge! " The kids went along with him wielding their own weapons, Dipper wielding a sword and shield, Mabel a Scythe, Grenda an Axe, Candy a mace while Kylie had a katana giving off battle cries as they charged at the monster. Adam slid underneath leaving a mark underneath it's stomach while Dipper and Mabel tried cutting it's legs while Kylie and Grenda jumped into the air cutting off it's arms.
As they were gonna attack they tasted something on their lips. " Wait a minute, Grenda do you taste that? " Kylie asked.
" Yeah. " the deep voice girl confirmed. " Salt water taffy? Gross! "
As Adam was attacking the trickster relentlessly " What are you..." He suddenly tasted what they just said. " Huh? Why am I tasting this? "
" You really haven't figured it out yet? " The Trickster questioned as his hands regrew grabbing Adam and then sprouted four more grabbing Dipper and Mabel, and then the others. " Don't you recognize me? " The monster asked sprouting another arm reaching for his mask. " Look at my face. " He removed it. " Look...closely... " They all gasped upon what they saw and Mabel knew what it was.
" Loser candy! "
" That's right. " The Trickster confirmed. " Did you ever stop and think about the candy at the bottom of the bag, that no one likes? "
" Why are you even doing this? " Adam questioned.
" Every year, the children of Gravity Falls throw away all of the 'Rejected Candy' into the dump. So I seek revenge. Revenge on the picky children who cast me aside. I am made of every tossed piece of black licorice, every discarded bar of old chocolate with like, that white powder stuff on it. You know that stuff? "
" I hate that stuff! " Mabel confirmed knowing what he was talking about.
" No one would eat me, but now, I'm going to eat you. " His first meal were the twins who began to scream. " I'm gonna eat...Ohh! " He stopped feeling a weird sensation. " What is that? " As he groaned in pain Soos suddenly burst out of his chest like a chest burster from alien while eating his body. " 'Sup, bro! " The trickster suddenly screams in pain and falls down spewing out jelly beans from his mouth while his insides spilled out. As for Soos he was eating the candy monsters heart. " Mmm. Dudes, you want some of this? " They all shook their heads no showing they were too weirded out.
" Wait, " The Trickster was still alive. " You actually think I taste good? "
" Uh, sure. You know. " Soos replied shrugging his shoulders making the monster cry tears of candy corn of joy.
" All I've ever wanted was for someone to say I was good...(crying.) I'm so happy. "
" The crying makes it a little weird. " He continues to eat it's heart. " But I guess I'm still eating. " He said as the trickster was finally dead. Then Gorney pops out of the corpse. " Sup, Gorney? "
" I've been traumatized! " He said happily with a smile.
Back at the Mystery Shack it was currently covered in toilet paper caused by the two kids that from the looks of it had been there all night long.
" Now what? " The mummy kid asked.
" Let's just get our candy already! " The solider boy answered as he and partner entered the Mystery Shack looking for Stan. " Old dude? Old dude. "
Meanwhile inside of the bathroom Stan was wearing his robe running some water sighing away for his failure to scare those two kids. " Wash off the shame, Stan, wash off the shame. "
On que the solider kid peeked his way inside. " Ha! He thought he could scare us. " The boy commented as the mummy opened the door and they both gasped upon seeing Stan's robe falling down. "
" Huh? What's that? " Stan asked but all he got were terrified screams from the two boys running out the shack leaving their bags in the process. Plus, it turned out Stan wasn't nude, he had underwear on. But seeing them being scared made him pump his arms up into the air in victory. " Still got it! "
Later on, the gang had arrived back at the Mystery Shack with Adam and the twins entering the living room.
" Hey, Stan! " Both Adam and Dipper greeted.
" Hi Grunkle Stan! " Mabel greeted by everyone else greeting him as well.
" How's it hanging? " The old man asked.
" Hey Adam, Hey Dipper. " Unexpectedly there was Wendy sitting on a table carving a jackomelon.
" Wendy? Talk about a surprise. " Adam commented.
" I didn't see you guys at the party. Where you? "
" Well, there was a bit of delay. " The blonde commented kneeling down. " Right Dipper? "
The boy went along with what Adam was saying and just spoke the truth. " Yeah. I went out trick-or-treating. " He places his arm around her shoulder. " With my sister. "
" Yeah. " Mabel returned the gesture.
" How was the party though? Did we miss anything? "
" Eh, it was lame. Robbie ate a lollipop stick first and had to go home sick! " The red head told them amusing Adam and the male twin.
" Oh man... " Mabel said sadly. " We went to every single house and we didn't get to eat any candy. "
" Candy? " Stan questioned and reaches over the recliner pulling out the bags those kids had left behind. " How's that for candy!? "
The kids gained massive grins.
" And now back to The Fear Guy From Terror Town Street. " The said showing a movie part of a Summerween movie marathon that showed a woman and a alien screaming.
As for the Pines and everyone else they were now out of costume, minus Soos who was sitting next to Stan. As for Candy, Grenda, Wendy and Kylie they had all called their folks and asked them if they could stay at the Mystery Shack for tonight with Stan's approval of course, gathered around eating candy from a big pile on the floor. Heck, even Waddles was in on the fun eating from a bowl.
Dipper has just entered the room and placed a band aid on Mabel's bruise with Adam nodding in approval as he entered. He then heard a whistle and looked to the entity who was gesturing over to a free spot that was right next to Wendy. He thought for a moment and shrugged his shoulders and went over. " This spot taken? "
" Nah, your fine. " The red head answered as they both began to chow down on some candy. As for the entity it was now hovering above them joining in on the fun as well, and Adam was kind of glad that no one else besides him could hear and see him.
" You know, kids. " Stan began. " I've been thinking. At the end of the day, Summerween isn't about candy or costumes or even scaring people. It's a day when the whole family can get together in one place and celebrate what really matters. "
" What's that? " Adam asked.
" Pure evil! " Stan answered as he began to laugh evilly and everyone else joined in even the Entity before stopping abruptly. There was silence for a few seconds until Soos spoke up.
" I ate a man alive tonight. " He said getting looks from everyone while the entity laughed at what he said.
" Humans are so interesting and amusing. " It said before winking at the audience as the screen turned black.
Later on through the night, everyone else was currently asleep, Candy, Grenda, Kylie and Wendy were all out in the living room, Soos was sleeping on the recliner, Stan was in his room, while the twins were in there beds and Adam in his hammock. As he laid there asleep a familar voice called him.
" Adam? Adam? " The teen groaned and then opened his eyes to see the entity looking right at him. " Are you awake? "
" I am now. " The blonde whispered. " What do you want? "
" I wish to speak with you. "
" Let me get outside. " The blonde said before sneaking his way out and stood a few feet away from the Mystery Shack so no one else could hear him with the moon giving them just about enough light.
" Well what is it you wanted to talk about? "
" To let you know, I've made my decision. "
Hearing this both confused and raised the blonde's interest. " Decision? What are you talking about? "
" So far, you've proven to be very re source full. Greatly reliable, and seem to adapt greatly on many situations you've been in. "
" Just get to the point. "
" I believe it is time I give you something. " The entity then opened his mouth revealing rows of razor sharp teeth, and then something emerged, wrapped in a red cloth. He grabbed it and present it to the teen. " A gift, that you are now ready for. "
Adam took the object and unwrapped the cloth. What he saw greatly shocked him. " Where did you get this? "
" You've yet to reveal your secrets. Why should I reveal mine? " The entity retorted. " But you are going to need it. And the secrets it holds. "
" If your trying tell me something, then why don't you just tell me?! "
" No, it's not that simple. " The entity replied. " You're gonna face more challenges up ahead. Each one will be more worse then the other, bonds and trust will be the put to the test. Sure you could show this to your friend, but then he's only gonna ask questions on you got it. So, it might be best just keep it to yourself for now. It's your choice though, you either keep it, or you return it to me, when want to look through it. Bad things are coming, it's better to be prepared for it. " The entity said before he disappeared leaving Adam to go over his thoughts. Looking at the gift the entity had given him. A lot of questions went through his mind, how did it get this, and just how connected was the entity to Gravity Falls itself?
He kept asking himself these questions as he stared at the gift, it was a bit damaged, around the edges and there were three very noticeable claw marks on a gold six fingered hand with a number 4 on it.

But, for the next chapter, it will be Boss Mabel! But with a twist.
