Interlude chapter:
District 1 Mentor Venus Platinum (Winner of the 149th Hunger Games) (Warnings for suidcal thoughts)
I wake up screaming again as I do every day ever since I escaped that arena of hell. The nightmares of the tributes I killed and almost killed me are the ones who plagued my dreams.
Whenever I close my eyes, I see the boys from 11 and 12 who I killed at the bloodbath. Both with a knife embedded into their skulls. Then it is quickie replaced with the boy from 4 (Aqua)
standing over my district partner (Diamond) with a blooded spear in his hands. Then Aqua's dead body with his detached next to it.
Then my final 3 victims from my games come into my nightmare. The boy from 2, the girl 10 and the boy from 7. The girl from 10 I mercifully killed at the feast. It was either I killed her or the boys from 2 and 7 would have tortured her to death slowly and painfully. Every time I close my eyes, I see her body with an arm missing with a knife in her head where I my knife to kill her. Even now she is the kill I regretted the most cause she could of made it home if I killed one of the boys instead.
I then run as I throw some knifes to distract the boys until I can grab my bag and one of theirs and get out of their as fast as I can. As I make it into the forest, I can hear one of the two boys follow me. I quickly hide behind a tree and wait for whoever it is to get in front of my so I can kill him easily. I see that it's the boy from 2 so I throw one of my knifes into his shoulder to make him lose balance and he does. I then jump on him and stab him repeatedly in the head to make sure vengeance for the girl from 10 is made.
I then run towards the clearing to see the boy from 7 looking out probably for the boy form 2. He sees me and runs right at me with a heavy axe but before that he throws a hand axe towards my legs to cut my legs out from underneath me to make for a easier kill. I see this coming however and jump over it and bring out a sword which was meant to be for the boy from 2 but he's not using it, so I will.
I block the axe and manage to swing it out of his hands along with my sword. I then bring out two knives and stab and stab at his chest to make sure he dies and I get out of the arena not him. I hear the cannon signifying his death but keep on stabbing until I see all my victims' bodies. The boys from 11 and 12 next to each other holding hands. Aqua with no head on his body along with Diamond with a giant stab wound in his stomach. The girl from 10 with no hand, cuts all over her body and a knife in her head. Then the boys from 2 and 7 with knife wounds all over their head and body respectively. They all them run towards me with knifes, spears and swords in their hands ready to kill me but I wake up and throw up. Every night.
How am I meant to coach kids to kill in these horrible games and make it home without the trauma I did? Can I do something other mentors have been doing for years? Can I make it through at least 10 games as a mentor before I kill myself?
A/N: Meet Venus Platinum the winner of the 149th hunger games! This will be one of the mentors we will be following along with a few more that I will introduce in other chapters like the train ride or interlude chapters such as this. Hopefully you enjoyed it and liked to see a more human side of a tribute from a career district.
