Interlude 2:
Scar Raven (District 2 Mentor) (Winner of the 138th hunger games)
I look at this year's tributes and turn away not even a little surprised. I knew that Alister was volunteering this year so that wasn't a surprise, in fact everyone in the district knew he was going to volunteer to avenge his brother's death by the hands of district 4 male. I hope that during the games he doesn't get distracted by revenge and is easily taken out by an outlier tribute. Also, I know that Alistar wants to kill the girls from 3 and 7 due to the fact that they didn't help Alister's brother but I hope he doesn't get distracted from them for long.
Oxanna is a little mystery due to the fact that I didn't see her training at the academy but I know that she will do well and make her presence known in her family. I know that she is good with spears which is a good weapon to have in the arena if you want to keep people at a distance, however if she doesn't have a spear she might be in trouble and die easily.
I already know they both will be in the career alliance this year but I wonder who will be joining them. I hope that the tributes from 1 and 4 will join them as normal, however last year the girl from 1 left the career alliance after killing the boy from 4 for killing her district partner a day after the bloodbath and she won those games, so maybe being in the career alliance might be helpful to some tributes from 1, 2 and 4.
I look back at my games which I won by killing whoever stood in my way, even my own alliance in the end. The arena for my games was a barren land scape that suspiciously looked like district 12 and 13 after they were bombed by the capitol. The tributes were also lacking in personality and those who actually wanted to kill and win the games. We only had a career alliance of me and my district partner (Victoria), the girl from 1 (Crystal), the boy from 4 (Dylan) and the pair from 7 (Wilda (7 Female) and Axel (7 Male)).
The blood bath in my year was small and that was only because of two tributes. The girl from 8 and the boy from 10. The girl from 8 was scared by having my and the boy from 11 (Saigon), who was the other main competitor that year other than us in the career pack, and jumped off her podium too early. Then, the boy from 10 decided to run at 4 to help his alliance of the pair from 12 and the girl from his district escape. After these two deaths happened and left half of the career alliance in shock it was no wonder why only 5 tributes died and one of them was Axel. The other two deaths were the boy from 8 and the girl from 6 as they were in shock to move so I killed the boy from 8 and Victoria killed the girl from 6.
After the bloodbath, 8 deaths happened on day 2 and 3. By the end of day 3 there were only 11 of us left. Us in the career alliance, the boys from 5, 6, and 11, the girl from 4 and the pair from 3. I killed the girl form 12.
At the start of day 4, we are all awoken to a cannon, that was boy from 5 being killed by eating a poisonous berry. We start to hunt, however soon after we did Crystal and Dylan betrayed us by stabbing Victoria in the back. Me and Wilda immediately started to counter attack them and I managed to kill Dylan but Crystal killed Wilda. I turn my attention to her and quickly killed her and paid my respects to Wilda and Victoria. At the end of day 4 there is only 6 of us left.
As soon as I wake up on day 5, I see the girl from 3 running from the boy from 6. I decide to help her and then kill her afterwards. I run towards her and tell her to move however she doesn't and she continues running directly at me so to end this as quickly as possible I run my sword though her stomach and then take my other sword and decapitate the boy from 6 as soon as I can. Their two cannons go off and I get my supplies and run for the forest.
At about midday of day 5 I come across the girl from 4 with a trident. As soon as we see each other's weapons we drop our supplies and immediately start to fight. I block all of her attacks but she blocks all of mine as fast as me. During our fight however I notice the boy from 3 come up behind me so I block an attack from the girl from 4 and turn my other sword and ram it though the boy from 3's head, and then stick the same sword into the girl from 4's chest to end this fight quickly.
I turn around after those two cannons went off and see Saigon, staring at me with a shocked expression on his face. Noticing my change to win the games I run at him with both of my swords and stab him with both of them before he can have a change of blocking them. Effectively killing him and making me the winner of the hunger games with 9 kills to my name.
I get nightmares occasionally of my games, especially of my alliance and what happened. However, sometimes Alistair's brother joins them as well as I failed him and I will fail Alistar as will.
A/N: Can't believe that I managed to make another interlude/ getting to know the mentor's chapter. There will probably be a few more before the games and from then on, those victors will be the ones we are going to follow from time to time during the games.
