I am very excited to have this chapter out so I can finally announce that this story is in the same universe as my other AC story, The Knight's Vengeance. If you like Bishop and want to know about about her story, go check out that story.

Please read and let me know what you think of this chapter! Thank you for all the comments, favs, and follows!

Deacon

Shaun Hastings

Rebecca sits there shaking like a leaf in fall as we are about to meet up with her friend, Bishop. She told me quite little about her, and is unwilling to tell anyone in the Creed who this person is to her. I watch her carefully as she fiddles with her thumbs, trying to calm herself. I contemplate asking her if she is alright, but I hold myself back.

I look around the coffee shop they have decided to meet in. I find the location to be concerning. We should be somewhere less populated and out of the potential line of sight for the Templars.

Rebecca stops biting her nails and looks behind me with a wide smile on her face. I look behind me, frantically searching for the woman who I am to call Bishop.

Rebecca stands and walks over towards the bookstand of the coffee shop. I stand and head over to where she is headed, flattening out the wrinkles of my sweater. I take in a deep breath and run my hand through my hair. My heart begins beating quickly with the excitement of meeting this dangerous and mysterious Assassin.

I turn the corner and when I do, I see Rebecca speaking with a woman in a wheelchair. I swallow hard and the sight and confusingly approach the two women.

"Shaun," Rebecca says with a wide smile. "I'd like you to meet Bishop." She says gesturing down at the woman in the wheelchair.

I look down at her. Her skin is pale, her hair is brown and tied up in a ponytail. Her eyes are large and emerald gems beam as she sees me. Her lips form into a smile and she pulls out her hand to shake mine. I look down at her, and when I see her withered legs turned to the side of her chair, I find myself frowning.

I take her hand and shake it. She looks up at me, and with a rye laugh says, "It's okay, everyone stares at them." She says referring to her legs, noticing my glance.

I clear my throat and feel myself getting hot at the notion. "I ugh… sorry, I didn't mean to offend…" I look up at Rebecca who gives me an angry scowl.

She laughs, "It's alright. I am sure you haven't been around a lot of paralyzed Assassins during your time in the Creed."

"Let's sit down." Rebecca tells her as we head to the tables.

"I do not have much time," Bishop says carefully. "So, we will have to make this quick." We sit down and she wheels her chair towards the table. "I am preparing a hideout, where we can meet under protection for longer periods of time." She tells us. "But here is what I have for now." She pulls out a folder and pulls out some paperwork. "It's called Helix." She tells us as Rebecca takes the folder in her hands. "They are searching for the Pieces of Eden through something they call the Phoenix Project. There is a whole recruitment video on it that I can send to you when I have a safe connection. The gist of it is mining through DNA in hopes to find Remanence of precursor DNA." I swallow hard and she continues, "They believe that DNA with signs of the triple Helix contain the foundation of the precursor genome."

"What does Abstergo plan to do with it?" Rebecca asks.

"They want to find a host with precursor DNA and force them into the Animus. Study their memories and gain the knowledge of the location of all of the Pieces of Eden."

"Do you think it will work?" I ask her.

She lets out a sigh. "They think they found the triple Helix in John Standish. They are digging through his DNA, but have since been unsuccessful. The Animus requires a host to unlock the memories. And these are not memories like yours or mine. Only another with the triple Helix DNA can unlock the memories. Though they are not disclosing this hiccup with their investors. Right now, the Phoenix Project is at a standstill. But once they get their hands on another Sage… who knows what they will find."

"So, what do you need from us?" Rebecca asks eagerly to help her, but I shake my head.

"Wait, wait." I say to them. "How were you able to come across this information without Abstergo finding you?" I ask her inquisitively. "Rebecca tells me that you are a skilled hacker. But Abstergo has a team of security to ensure that information such as this doesn't leak. How did you get your hands on it?"

"Shaun!" Rebecca calls out to me.

"No, it's okay." Bishop says. She looks over at me. "I totally understand your caution over all of this. I asked Rebecca to keep my identity a secret for a reason."

Rebecca swallows hard and whispers, "you don't have to tell him."

She shakes her head. "It's alright." She says with a smile. "My real name is Lilly." She says with a smile. "I believe in the Assassin's cause. I believe that it is our chaos and disobedience that make us human, and Abstergo's manhunt to rid mankind of their freewill is wrong; it will only make them uncontrollably powerful." She lets out a sigh and looks over at Rebecca who gives her a reassuring smile. "That being said, I was born into the Templar Order. And I am currently an active member of the Inner Sanctum of Templar Knights."

My eyes practically bulge outside of their sockets when she tells me this. Instant adrenaline flows throughout my body as my instinct tells me to run from her. I look over at Rebecca who looks uncomfortable, almost guilty for this realization. "That is why you wouldn't tell Gavin or Harlan. You knew they wouldn't approve of this."

"Lilly is an Assassin." Rebecca says defensively. "We bonded in college over this and I trust her with my life. More than anyone else."

The comment stings and I look away from her. I look over at the girl, watching her warily. "Why should we trust you? Templars have a way of pretending to be in our cause but it is a lie after all." I say thinking of Lucy and how she had us all fooled.

"Shaun!" Rebecca calls out angrily at my tone for this woman.

"No, it's fine, I get it." Bishop says. "Shaun, you have every right to question my intentions with Rebecca and the Creed. I was born into the Knights Templar, but the years under their protection have shown me just how criminal they are. I have recently discovered that the lives of their people mean nothing to them, and we are all expendable to them. I in good conscious, cannot give my resources to a people that will let their help deteriorate for their personal gain. Since coming to this realization, I have done everything that I could to aid the Assassin's Creed. This includes creating the Initiates program to feed Templar findings to the Altair II.

"You were responsible for the Initiates Program?" I say angrily. "The program that placed Templar agents on the Altair II and fed information to the Templars?" I look over at Rebecca, completely baffled at her willingness to defend this woman.

"I carefully chose people who had a wavering faith to the Order, and were easily swayed to the Assassin's side." She says, "I knew that Rebecca could find the program and shut it down. I needed to plant the program for my cover within the Order, but provided the breadcrumbs for the Assassins to ensure the program would be located and shut down."

"How am I to trust you?" I ask her hesitantly. "Your past with Becks could have her judgment of your character skewed. But I will not be as easily swayed." Rebecca looks over at me with a hateful glare, not appreciating my harsh tone.

"Tell me whatever it is that I can do to make you trust me." She says with a genuine tone.

I swallow hard, thinking about what I want from her, but feeling apprehensive to say it. My heart races, wondering how to formulate the question. "Where is he?" I ask her with a broken and wavering tone. "Where is Desmond?" I say with watering eyes.

Rebecca looks over at me from the peripheral of my gaze, but I cannot bring myself to look at her. "We found your code." I say between labored breaths, holding back my emotions. "If you are playing some sick game—"

"I'm not," She lets out before I can continue.

"Then where is he?" I snap loudly. I look around to see that some people stare at us. I clear my throat and look back at her. "How is he alive?"

She inhales deeply then says, "The Holy Grail." I look at her with pressed brows, glancing over at Rebecca who shares the same confusion. "The Holy Grail is a Piece of Eden, who's power holds the ability to bring one back to life if found within 72 hours of death."

"By who?" I ask.

She looks at Rebecca, not entirely comfortable at the idea of disclosing this information with me. After a moment, she swallows hard and says, "I think you know her by the name Azalea."

I look over at Rebecca and she looks just as shocked as I do. "Azalea has Desmond?"

"According to Galina—one of my Initiates—she has him in one of her safehouses located north of Montreal. She is keeping him close, with the hopes to use him against the Templars."

"What does Azalea want?" Rebecca asks her.

She shrugs, "I believe she is collecting all the Pieces of Eden. I tapped into her emails. She has a lot in her possession. I am not even sure how many. But I know that she used the Grail on him to resurrect him."

She looks around carefully then says in a hushed tone. "I know where William Miles is." She says and I wait for her to continue, trying not to show my interest in the comment. "He is in the Netherlands with a Master Assassin by the name of Erik Jansen. He has agreed to help William stay under the radar while he copes with the death of his son."

"So how do we get William out of hiding?" I ask her. "We cannot simply send out an email telling him that Desmond is still alive. We need to draw him out another way, then tell him about Desmond in person."

"I agree," She says with a nod. "I was thinking, we get the Assassin's attention. We go public with the knowledge that I have on Abstergo. We release it within the ranks of the Creed and once we get our names out there, William will seek us out."

"Are you sure it's safe for you to be releasing this information?" Rebecca asks with a worried tone. "You are in the trenches over there. You will have to be careful releasing this information."

"Don't worry. I am Abstergo's computer security. I will be able to mask my digital footprint."

"Well then let's get started." I tell her eagerly.

"So, your codename is Bishop, after the clergymen in the Christian Religion." I say looking away from the girls and at the computer. "I was thinking of the codename Deacon, being a testament to my service towards you." I look over at Rebecca. "Becks can be Minister? No," I let out displeased, "Cardinal!" I call out satisfied with the decision.

"I know it was named after the Bishop figure, but I actually picked the codename Bishop after the chess piece. It's my favorite piece to play with." Bishop says sitting next to Rebecca.

"So, I should be Rook?" I ask skeptically, not liking the codename as much as the others. "And Rebecca can be Awful." I jest and she throws a crumpled piece of paper my way.

"Hey Asshole, I am getting better!" Rebecca called out. "Plus, Lilly can play circles around your ass."

Bishop lets out a chuckle, "Shaun you can name yourself whatever you'd like."

"Right," I let out thinking. "Well Deacon seems goo enough, yeah?" I say and the girls nod.

Rebecca helps Bishop place herself carefully out of her wheelchair and into a computer chair. I look at her with an inquisitive look. "Why are you sitting in the computer chair?" I ask her.

"I have always been pitied for being paralyzed. Looked at like a fragile doll." She says with a frown. "I want whoever sees this video to think about what I am saying, and not be distracted by something that doesn't define me." Rebecca smiles, and kisses her on her forehead. "Are you all ready?" She asks eagerly and I smile at her.

She looks up at Rebecca who leave the frame and presses play on the recording. Bishop nods and begins.

"Hey there, this is probably disorienting so I'll be brief. I am Bishop, not my real name—obviously—but that is as much as you'll get today. Please listen carefully; Abstergo is using you. Hijacking your neurons to sift through genetic memory data. These guys have their fingers in countless corporations, governments, media outlets, and NGOs. But now, they want control over history itself. If that doesn't frighten you, it should. But we're here to stop them… and I need your help."

We continue our work within the Creed. Bishop works mainly remotely from us, unable to join us due to her cover within the Order. I still find all these circumstances to be worrisome, but I endure it as Bishop is the first light of hope the Creed has had since Desmond.

I type aimlessly in my computer, documenting everything that we have learned with the Initiate regarding the Phoenix Project. Rebecca enters the room and seems drained. "Becks?" I ask her as she heads to her desk frantically typing at her computer. "What's going on?"

"Abstergo is scraping the Phoenix Project…or…" She pauses for a moment to think, "They have it on the back burner."

"Why?" I ask her.

"Bishop told me they are focusing on the Piece of Eden."

"A Piece of Eden?" I ask bemused. "They have located one?"

"Ah!" She exclaims, "We are live!" She announces and I head over to her desk. "Bishop, tell us what is going on?"

"Becks!" She exclaims happily as her image distorts with her spotting connection. "Abstergo is rebranding." She states, "There have been some internal…changes." She lets out uncomfortably. "Entertainment is being absorbed under Abstergo Historical Research. They now have Sigma Team's force aiding them."

"Sigma Team?" I question.

"An elite team of field agents led by a man named Juhani Otso Berg. They are acting as security detail for the program, searching for new intel on the Piece of Eden." She informs. "We have intel pointing to London. They believe the Shroud of Turin is located there. They have a team heading there now to secure the Shroud from Isabelle Ardent." She seems rushed and worried.

"When can you get us out there?" Rebecca asks her.

Bishop looks behind her, possibly hearing something. "I have to go. I will send the arrangements." She states exiting the video chat.

Rebecca lets out a sigh, leaning back in her chair. "I heard about this guy." She lets out running her hands through her hair, pulling the beanie off of her head. "Otso Berg." She continues. "Galina told me that he is a real threat; Daniel 2.0." She says swallowing hard.

"Becks," I let out comfortingly, "Everything is going to be okay. We are going to get that Shroud, and we are going reach out to Gavin for help."

"Do you ever wonder if it's worth it?" She asks absentmindedly looking up at the ceiling. "The running, the hiding, the fighting…the saying good bye…"

A tear falls from her cheeks as her eyes fixate on the ceiling. "Everything that we do, we do to ensure the freewill of everyone we love." I tell her. "I don't want to live in a world where there is no more feelings, nothing left to believe in, to fight for. Some things are worth fighting for… dying for." I say in a somber tone.

She lets out a sigh, "I just wish we could go back to when things were simpler." She lets out. "I just miss him…" She chocks on her words and swallows the sob before it can escape her throat.

"And that's why we fight." I tell her. "For Desmond. For Hannah. For Lucy. For everyone the Templars have taken from us."

She finally looks over at me, eyes wet and bloodshot. "Bishop thinks that we can use the Shroud to get Azalea's attention. Despite all her attempts in contacting her, she cannot get a hold of her. She believes that having possession of the Piece of Eden will drive her out."

"Do you really think he is alive? That her intel is correct on this?" I ask her skeptically.

"God, I hope so."

We released everything we had on the Phoenix Project, the rumored location of the Shroud, and other information we have been provided with by Bishop. None of the information stirs William. Rebecca and I find the process strenuous. It is clear that William wants nothing with us, with the Creed, or with removing Abstergo from power.

The months continue and Bishop's communication with us has become few and far between. She has been busy and her cover under the Order is precarious. As she continues to leak information to the Creed, the Order becomes more and more suspicious. She has not contacted Rebecca or I about the Shroud or next movements for over 4 months.

We sit at our computers when Gavin messages me. He attaches a video telling me that I need to see this. I call over Becks and she sits next to me as I press play.

A video plays as men argue and a disembodied voice calls over the video. The voice is rough and angry, and I do not recognize who is speaking.

"I want them to know how weak they truly are, and I want everyone to watch them suffer" The voice calls out. "So, on the day they finally meet me, they will welcome the death I offer them. My plan is in motion. I have no further demands to place upon you."

A series of text cross the screen as members of the Brotherhood begins texting. People begin chiming in from Harlan Cunningham, the Ninidze Brothers, Gavin Banks, Galina, and so many more.

"Becks!" I let out.

"Fuck, I am too stoned for this!" She lets out as she types frantically at her computer. "It's a fucking virus! I need to wipe everything!" She says, "Fuck!" She yells out unplugging her computer frantically.

"William Miles," I let out. "Harlan mentioned something about William. This has got to draw him out of hiding." I tell her.

"I can't think about that now, Shaun!" She calls out to me. "Fuck why didn't Bishop warn us?" She yells in a betrayed tone. "We need to move our location. Get to the coast so Gavin can pick us up." She states, packing her computer.

"What about William?" I ask her.

"Gavin is probably picking him up. We will no doubt meet with him on the Altair II." She says more focused on packing than the potential of seeing William again. She grabs her phone and texts him coordinates, then throws her phone in the box with the rest of her things. "Come on." She lets out, "I know where we can go."

She grabs for the small glass figurine by her computer. The figurine is a white Bishop piece from what I imagine to be a beautiful set. She takes the Bishop into her hand, as well as the swan piece given to her by Desmond on her birthday. Her eyes tear as she looks down at the two figurines.

Rebecca takes us to an abandoned lighthouse off of the Maine coastline. We wait for Gavin to pick us up on his route to gathering up all the frayed Assassin fractions throughout the Atlantic coast. Both Rebecca and I have been searching threads and emails for William's movement, but nothing shows any movement within the Creed.

Rebecca begins typing quickly and I look over to see her chat box up. "Bishop?" I ask her.

"Yeah." She says typing in the box. So, when are we going to Snowmass?

"You mentioned Snowmass before." I say, "What does that mean?"

"It's a Ski Resort in Denver." She tells me, waiting for her reply. "I told her in college that I would take her one day and teach her to ski." She tells me and I frown, knowing that Bishop is paralyzed and unable to learn how to ski.

Depends on how much tickets are from where you're at?

Rebecca smiles at this comment. Maine isn't too far from Colorado. Closer than you. She responds, chewing on her lips.

Any update on William Miles?

Rebecca freezes at this comment, and quickly exits the chat and turns off her computer.

"What are you doing?" I ask her angrily.

"Fuck!" She calls out pulling at her hair. I ask her what is going on and she gets out of her chair, pacing aimlessly. "Fuck that wasn't Bishop." She lets out in a wavering tone.

"What do you mean that wasn't Bishop?" I ask her, my heart dropping.

"We need to get out of here." She says frantically grabbing for her computer.

"Wait, now hold on!" I call out. "You're not going to uproot us again." I tell her sternly. "Why do you think that wasn't Bishop?"

"She wouldn't ask about William like that. She would know if he contacted us."

"Then who do you think was on the other end of that chat?" I ask her.

She shakes her head with wide eyes. "I can't…" She lets out. "I don't know." She says instead, and I can tell that she is keeping another thing from me. I decide not to push her, knowing that she is frantic and scared now.

"Alright," I let out. Let's reach out to Gavin, tell him that it is imperative he picks us up first. We will inform him that our position is compromised. Does that sound reasonable?"

She lets out a sigh, grabbing for the Bishop figurine by her computer screen. "Yeah," She lets out in a defeated tone, putting the piece back by her monitor.

Within two days of our SOS, Gavin is at the shores of the Island. We grab out things and move them to the Altair II, clearing out the lighthouse. Rebecca looks around as the lighthouse is completely gutted of our things.

"Have you seen my Bishop piece?" She asks me looking around lighthouse.

I shrug, "Did you place it in the box with your monitor?" I ask her.

"No," she lets out looking over at the desk. "The crane is here." She lets out, grabbing the piece from the desk. "Where is the Bishop?" She ask more frantically.

"Becks, I am sure you packed it and didn't realize."

She swallows hard, wanting to panic and turn the lighthouse upside down until she has the Bishop piece, but she knows that we need to leave, and that Gavin is waiting for us. "You're right," She lets out. "I probably packed it and didn't notice." She tells herself more than she says to me.

"Come on, Becks. We need to go." I tell her as we leave the lighthouse.

We get onto the boat where we see so many scared and lost faces. These must be new recruits who were picked up in Sao Paulo, who were the first at risk of Sigma Team's wrath.

"Shaun, Rebecca, it is good to see you two again." Gavin says approaching us.

"Thank you for prioritizing out pick up." I tell him. "We believed our location to be compromised."

He nods once, "Of course," he lets out. "We are headed back down to the Carolinas to pick up a group, then we will be heading up to Canada." I nod at him and he clears his throat. "There's ugh…" He stumbles on his words; scratching is cheek uncomfortably. "There is something you should both see." He lets out carefully.

Rebecca and I look at one another, confused as to his demeanor towards us. We follow him into the Captain's quarters. He has never had us in his room. I look around to notice that it is nut much more than the other rooms on the ship. I sit down at the desk chair, while Rebecca leans against the desk with her arms crossed over her chest.

Gavin closes the door behind him and looks over at the two of us. "The video that was sent out contained a locator virus." He begins. "You two had the sense to unplug your connection before they could grab your location, but not everyone was." He lets out.

"They being?" I ask.

"Sigma Team." Gavin lets out, leaning against the door with his arms crossed. "Abstergo's latest and greatest." He lets out. "Juhani Otso Berg—the voice on the tape—is Daniel Cross if Cross was emotionally stable." He explains. "He is a beast, and is already slaughtering our sanctions. Violet da Costa and Sorkin join him as his tactical support. They are unstoppable, vicious, and highly deadly." He swallows hard.

"What can we do?" I ask, wanting to help.

"I am not sure there is much was can do." He admits. "Harlan tells me there is compound up north in Montreal training operatives to be a threat against Sigma Team, but he can't tell me who is sanctioning this compound."

Rebecca and I look at one another, remember Bishop telling us that Azalea is running the compound that he speaks of.

"What about that Bishop friend of yours?" He asks us. "She safe from Sigma Team?"

I shrug, "We have been unable to contact her for 4 months." I tell him.

"Do you have her location? We can pick her up if she is near."

Rebecca lets out a sigh, "She will be safe from Sigma Team." She says, not telling Gavin anything more information. Gavin does not know Bishop's identity or her affiliation with the Templar. No one seems to know anything about Bishop but us.

Gavin nods once, "Well," he says clearing his throat. "There is someone here who wishes to see you." He says opening the door.

We both look over to see the figure looming in the doorway. My heart drops when I see him. He has aged terribly, the stress pressing into the winkles of his face. Rebecca drops her arms in shock. She looks at me, confirming if she is seeing what I am seeing. When she sees the tears well in my eyes, she runs over to him, slamming into him with her arms extended and entrapping him in a hug.

I get up, heading towards him and wrap my arms around them both. I take in a deep breath, his scent bringing tears to my eyes.

Rebecca sobs into his chest and he rubs the back of her head. "I am sorry I left you two." William lets out as Rebecca begins shaking, sobbing uncontrollably.

"It was hard for me." He explains as we all sit in Gavin's room. Gavin gave us some privacy while he attends to the refugees on the ship. "I know that is was hard for both of you as well but…" His brows tangle as he picks nervously at his fingernails. "I left on such bad terms with him." He lets out. "He hated me in those final days. And I resented him." He lets out ashamed. "I live with that now… knowing that that's how I ended things with my son." He lets out in a mortified tone.

"He loved you." Rebecca reassures him. "He always loved you." She tells him with a sad smile.

"I shouldn't have left you. I shouldn't have abandoned the Brotherhood, but I couldn't stand being around those who knew him. I needed to be alone." He let out in a defeated tone.

"We don't blame you," I tell him. "We understood your grief. You needed time."

William let out a heavy sigh, "With the threats given out by Sigma Team, I knew that it was time for me to go out of hiding. The Brotherhood needs everyone they can get."

"Do you know anything about this sect in Montreal that Gavin is talking about?" Rebecca asks.

William shakes his head, "No." He sighs, "Harlan is aiding with the recruitment, but he has been very secretive about it. It's uncharacteristic of him."

"We might know something about them." Rebecca lets out and I look at her with wary eyes, wondering if she is going to mention Desmond potentially being alive.

"What do you know?" He asks.

"An Operative named Galina is apart of the compound. She has used the Altair II before. She might have more information on the compound." She says keeping Azalea and Desmond's names out of it.

"How do you know this?" William asks.

"We have a contact who has been aiding us with specific intel on Abstergo."

"Bishop." William says and Rebecca brings her brows together in confusion. "Gavin told me about her. He and Harlan are speculating on who she is and how she has all this information." Rebecca swallows and he continues, "I understand wanting to keep a friend's identity secret," he says knowing that Rebecca is not telling Harlan and Gavin about Bishop for a reason. "But with the scare Sigma Team has stirred within the Order, secret informants are cause for alarm."

"Her identity is not my secret to tell." Rebecca says to him.

"Her intel on Abstergo is concerning the others." William begins. "She has information that even operatives within the Order do not know." Rebecca swallows hard and he continues. "We have had many agents operating within the walls of the Templars that we have kept their identity secret for their safety." He assures her. "I believe it is without doubt that Bishop is operating within the walls of Abstergo. That being said, if you provide us with her name, we can ensure her safety as she aids us with internal information."

"I am sorry William, but I can't." She lets out in a defeated tone.

He looks over at me and I swallow hard. "Becks," I let out. "William can protect her."

"It is not my secret to tell." She says sternly. "Nor is it yours, Shaun."

"Becks, we haven't heard from Bishop in 4 months. Maybe William can help us contact her."

"It is not your secret to tell!" She yells at me.

"I am sorry, Becks." I let out helplessly.

"Shaun don't!" She yells.

"Her name is Lilly." I let out and Rebecca looks at me with shocked and betrayed eyes.

"Lilly James?" William lets out in a shocked tone.

"You know her?" Rebecca asks, backing away from William.

I look over at him. He is clearly distraught; his hand shaking as his brushes his palm against his lips. He lets out a labored sigh and says, "I killed her father."

Rebecca looks at him with wide confused eyes. Her mouth was slightly opened at the shock. "You were there… the night she was paralyzed?"

William looks down, unable to look Rebecca in the eyes. "We rammed into their vehicle." He lets out looking down at his hands. "We didn't know the vehicle would plummet into the lake." He whispers, lost in his memories of the night.

"You're the reason she is paralyzed." She lets out. She gets up walking out of the room. "You're a fucking monster." She lets out under her breath.

Three days pass as we sail north. Rebecca has been avoiding William, unable to look at him since the realization that he caused Bishop to be paralyzed. Bishop has yet to reach out to us and Rebecca grows more and more anxious without hearing from her.

We sit in the break room where we eat the bland cafeteria food. Rebecca pushes around her peas looking off aimlessly, not willing to speak with me as much as she is unwilling to speak with William. She is clearly angry with me as well for giving William Bishop's name.

I clear my throat, taking a bite out of the dry turkey. Someone sits down next to us and I don't motion to acknowledge the person sitting across from us. The person begins aggressively drumming their thumbs on the table and I finally look up at her.

She is skinny, with caramel skin, black wavy hair that is shaved above her right ear on one side. She looks at me and smiles, looking clearly uncomfortable sitting before me.

I look back down at my food when I notice that she doesn't say anything to us. She clears her throat and I don't look at her. I continue to eat the dry turkey while Rebecca continues to push the peas around on her tray.

She clears her throat again and finally says, "The food is such shit here." She says with an awkward laugh. I look up at her and give her an uncomfortable nod with a pressed smile, while Rebecca keeps her head down. "I mean, you would think they would work on the food to make it more editable." She continues and I keep my head down, no longer acknowledging her.

"But," She continues, "Nothing beats Grandma's chicken pot pie." She says carefully and I look up at her with shocked eyes. Rebecca stops moving her peas and looks up at the girl as well. She smiles at the both of us, lively saying, "I mean that stuff when it hits you, it hits you hard."

Rebecca looks over and me and I look at her, wondering if her are hearing her correctly. She leans in, no longer smiling at us. She whispers, "Get off at Montreal. Meet me at the local bar; Erne's." She says getting up and walking away from us without another word.
