Kate sat on the couch flipping through the channels on the TV. She sighed, rather bored that there was nothing on. She heard the car pull up, door open and then close. His tell-tale steps coming up the walk way and eventually to the front door.
The front door opened and closed, lock clicking over. She put the remote down and waited for his presence.
He walked in, heading straight for her and kissed her head before pulling off his jacket and sitting down next to her.
"What's on?" he asked, not really interested. Kate sighed and turned it off before turning to look at him.
"Nothing at all. How was dinner?" she asked him and he gave her a small smile.
"Nice" he reached out and moved her hair from her shoulder "You okay?" he asked, moving his hand to cup her cheek. She smiled and leaned into his hand.
"Yeah. Just glad that we could help Corporal Yost" she studied him for a moment before speaking again "Was it love at first sight for you and Shannon?" she asked. This caught him off guard, but he didn't let her know that.
"Something like that" he answered, making her roll her eyes. It was such a typical Gibbs answer.
"And what about me?" she watched jaw clench and unclench and she couldn't help but grin.
"Always with the questions" he finally said with a sigh making Kate laugh. She grabbed his hand and entwined their fingers, just enjoying the quiet that settled over them. They had been dating a little over a year, and like any relationship they had their ups and downs. But to Gibbs' credit, it was mostly ups.
"You're the profiler, you tell me" he finally said in a hoarse voice. Kate looked at their joined hands, before finally looking up to meet his eyes. Without saying anything, she moved to sit in his lap with her hands wrapping around his neck.
"Maybe not at first sight, but I do believe it may have been lust at first sight. A younger woman standing up to you really turned you on" at this Gibbs couldn't help but grin and moved his hands to her legs.
"And you say I'm hard to read" Kate laughed and leaned in to kiss him softly.
"I know the look of want in a man's eye" she pulled back to look at him, and say that look in his eyes and grinned "Especially when it comes to you" she leaned forward and kissed him again, deeper this time, making sure to grind her hips down into his.
Gibbs moved his hands up and under her black shirt, feeling her soft skin, something he had been wanting to do since they left home this morning.
"But I do" he said pulling away from her. She looked at him a little confused at first, but then smiled when she understood what he meant. She ran her hands through his hair and nodded.
"I know. I love you too" Gibbs' smile matched her own and she leaned in and kissed him once again.
