"Welcome to the home of all Hufflepuffs. The place in which we eat, talk and laugh while we still can, since we'll all have to go fight insane people soon enough," said Hannah, enthusiastically.
Ginny, Luna and Neville didn't know anything about how the Hufflepuffs lived, and felt that it was about time they got someone to show them. The place was the exact definition of 'cozy'. All the items in soft tones, just begging you to feel at home. The smell of the cakes being baked by the elves in the kitchens close by made Luna's stomach send signals that if it was not fed soon, something bad might happen.
Ginny knew the blonde well enough to know it was time to go get some food if they wanted to spend the whole night with the Hufflepuffs and not have Luna chewing on the pumpkin seeds she had used to make a necklace. The Weasley also knew that the blond boy sitting on the couch, who goes by the name Neville Longbottom, wouldn't object to spending some alone time with Mss. Abbott. Ginny let out a muffled laugh. It was funny the things you found out about people while sneaking out at night to help people in the only way you could, while stuck inside a gigantic castle.
The two of them left quickly and came back as soon as Hannah was feeling like complaining about the delay. They did not disappoint. Luna had a huge basket of muffins, apple pies and ham sandwiches, while Ginny held big bottles of pumpkin juice. She smiled excitedly and clapped twice to get the attention of all the Hufflepuffs who wanted in on the late night picknick.
They all sat down on the nice pastel pink beanbags and attacked with gusto, and, somehow, between laughs, jokes, chill, and taboo topics, the teens noticed they had found a little home amongst those so equal to them, yet not.
Ginny looked at Luna making a bouquet of daisies to leave to the Hufflepuffs as a gift and at Neville and Hannah half-asleep against the back of the couch, and smiled. She knew what awaited them outside the walls of the castle, but at that moment all was well.
This was, without a shadow of a doubt, the most difficult thing I have ever done. I'm exhausted.
