(With Kagome)
Kagome stepped off the plane at the airport she'd arrived at only thirty or so minutes ago. Two weeks had gone by since she received her letter, she had met with the man, Shacklebolt, who had insisted on using some kind of charm on her to help her capture the basics of English faster. Though, she already knew English enough to save her from an awkward conversation, it did help her to learn the language quicker than it would have taken her to do naturally. Thankful for that, since she wouldn't have to deal with a language barrier now. She glanced around and sighed. Looking for whoever it was she'd been told would be meeting her, she wondered for a moment what her husband-to-be would look like. She would be meeting this man today, but first, she had to go to some registration hall.
"Ka-Kag...?"
Kagome turned to see a boy with wild red hair and freckles, roughly her age, staring at a piece of paper in his hand. "Ka...gome?"
Kagome smiled, "You are?"
"Uh, Ron Weasley, I was sent to get you for Shacklebolt, he said to take you through the floo network, since Hermione and Harry are both doing other things."
Kagome shook her head, "I'm not sure what floo is, and I don't know the people you mentioned."
Ron, as the teen had introduced himself to her, just shrugged uncomfortably before turning and walking off, he glanced uncertainly at her to see if she was going to follow, but when she didn't, he sighed. "Is there a problem?"
"Only one that I can think of, my bags are at the terminal, and I require them. So, unless we are going..." she pointed back in the opposite direction he was heading, "...that way...I'm staying right here."
"...right."
Kagome nodded with a look of satisfaction as the red head made his way towards the direction she'd indicated, helping her get the two bags she'd packed before they headed off towards the direction he'd been ready to go in before she'd stopped him.

Looking at the papers in her hand, Hermione felt tears prickling at her eyes, the name on the parchment that she'd been handed, had been none other than the singular person she'd not anticipated being tied down to. It was one thing to find out you would be there first to receive a marriage binding, but a completely different situation to find out that the binding would be between you...and your school nemesis. "I don't even know how to respond to this." Hermione looked to Timothy Nott who held his hands up defensively. "This must be some kind of nasty...joke..."
Sighing, Timothy let his hands fall beside him, "It's no mistake, I'm afraid. Draco's letter should arrive shortly as well."
"Who is delivering the letter?"
"...An owl."
"I must be pretty special, to be getting it hand delivered by the head of the Nott family." She sat down on the couch of the empty home she now occupied. The war had taken much from her, and while she had considered trying to locate the parents she'd sent to Australia, she knew her 'oblivate' spell was up to par with any great wizards or witches...and no amount of therapy in St. Mungo's was going to help them remember who she was. This left her with a very empty house to call her home...a very cold, lifeless home, at that. "Have you found out anything about Theodore and Blaise's soon-to-be's?" She wasn't necessarily wishing for the worst case scenario's, she was just nosy, and as such, she wanted to be in the look of things concerning the law she'd signed for.
"Yes...well...I believe that the choices for the two will be limited right now, as the ministry is trying to first line up potential Muggleborns and half-bloods with pureblooded witches and wizards before moving onto Muggles. We are exhausting all possible candidates, and even still, we have to be sure that they have blood that will correspond positively with magic, and accept it."
"If it doesn't?"
"...if in three years, the pair have not conceived a child, they are able to withdraw the marriage contract and continue on with their life as if it never happened."
Nodding, Hermione closed her eyes, "...isn't Mrs. Zabini technically eligible for this law too?"
"Yeah, about that." Timothy laughed, "She isn't married, but she's in a relationship with someone, of that we can all be sure. Her reputation precedes her as it is. The last I checked, she was currently in cahoots with the second eldest Weasley...strange as I find that."
"..." Hermione looked curiously at Timothy, as though she'd not heard him right. "You don't mean Charlie...do you?"
"Yes, that's the one...she's very much so attracted to the younger ones."
"Well..." Hermione stood and looked at the page, "It could be worse, I guess. It's only...what...sixteen, fifteen year's age difference?"
Timothy laughed, "Yeah, nailed it on the nose, actually. She's forty-seven, though if you tell her I told you so, I'll deny it! What is the Weasley boy's age? Twenty-six, yes?"
"He's twenty-seven, so sixteen years between them."
"Yes, well...you were right, it could be much worse. For instance, just wait till you find out who is to wed Lucius."
"...wed...wait...Lucius is to be married as well?! Surely there will be exceptions, the man, last I heard, just went through a divorce."
"I'm afraid not, the contract is magically enabled to track any Magical Signatures that are not tied by law to another, and match them with a positive and interactive bloodline." Timothy checked the time as he stood.
Hermione stood with Timothy as he stepped towards her fireplace. "Wait, so what is the age difference for Lucius and his...intended...oh, and how old is he, I'm not even sure of that."
Laughing, Timothy looked the witch over humorously, "twenty-six years between the duo, he's forty-four. I must now bid you farewell, Hermione, as I have to return to work." Stepping into the fireplace, he grabbed some floo powder and left Hermione in her stunned silence, "Ministry of Magic!"
Hermione stood staring at the fireplace after a crackle in the air stole away Timothy. She ran the numbers quickly through her head before her eyes widened in shock and she yelled out in horror, "Lucius is marrying an eighteen year old girl?!"

A soft sneezed stifled by the crowed around them caught Ron's ear as he helped Kagome carry her stuff to the Minister's Office. He watched her from the corner of his eye, wondering if she knew what she was getting into. He had already been informed of who she was going to marry, since he was to take her to the man's house, after she appeared before Shacklebolt. To be perfectly honest, because he'd chosen to sit out the law, the Minister had chosen to involve him more than he'd anticipated. Go figure. "Inside,"
"Hm?" Kagome was still clearing her head from the sneeze that had racked her brain a moment ago. 'Someone's talking about me,' she smiled.
"Inside, we're here. It's not another Floo trip, just a normal door."
She rolled her eyes at his not-so-clever-jab towards her experience, or lack thereof, in concerns to Floo Powder and Floo Network. "Right," she stepped inside the room as he held the door open to her. Sitting in the office was none other than Shacklebolt himself. "Nice to you again, I do hope my sarcasm is better hidden than it was in our previous meeting."
A small laugh caught her ear as Shacklebolt looked up at her, "much better hidden, though I daresay, it won't be me who needs convincing...your fiancé will be better adapt to reading ones facial expressions, I hope your poker face is up to par with his. Mr. Weasley, thank you for checking in with me, I'll get her papers drawn up and have you deliver them later, for now, take her to the Malfoy Manor. I do believe Lucius has received his own letter by this point in time."
Her eyes hardened and she stepped forward, laying an envelope on the table before turning to Ron, though her next words were still directed to the Minister. "When you find the time, read that over and then pay me a visit. I wish to know...anything that you can supply me with, concerning the contents in that letter, more specifically...the man who wrote it." She nodded to Ron who took that as his cue to guide her again to another floo network. Walking up to one of them, she watched him take a handful of the powder before telling her what to say, showing her only after making sure her pronunciation was perfect. She watched him leave in a puff of ash, and sighed. A realization suddenly slapping her in the face. 'The next time I step out of this network, I will be standing before my husband-to-be...'
