Author's Note: This story is based on the 2004 film "Downfall" or "Der Untergang", and the Downfall Parodies on YouTube based on scenes from that film.

Adolf Hitler was in his office as Hans Krebs was speaking.

"As you all know, February 29th is Leap Day. It occurs every four years. It is the 60th day of 2020. It happens because of Earth's orbit. On the Chinese calendar, it occurs in the years of monkey and rat."

Krebs was then finished with his explanation.

"I want Leap Day banned", Hitler said. "No one should celebrate it."

Wilhelm Burgdorf looked at Krebs.

Krebs then said, "Mein Fuhrer…Steiner…"

Jodl then finished by saying, "Steiner says everyone in the bunker is partying. Everyone wants to enjoy Leap Day."

"Everyone that enjoys Leap Day, get the fuck out", Hitler said.

Most of the generals left the room, knowing that Hitler would launch into a furious tirade.

"DID YOU FUCKING LISTEN TO ME?", Hitler screamed at the top of his lungs. "LEAP DAY SHOULD NOT BE CELEBRATED!"

"You idiots never listen to anything I tell you. What's so special about Leap Day? It's consistent and useless. It only happens every four years. I can attain so much in four years. It's worthless if it takes four years to happen."

"Mein Fuhrer, Leap Day isn't that bad…", Burgdorf said in an attempt to calm the Fuhrer down.

"TELL ME HOW IT'S GOOD, BOOZING FOOL!"

"Mein Fuhrer, people were born on Leap Day."

"It only emphasizes the idiocy of Leap Day", Hitler yelled before throwing his pencil against his desk.

"It fucking sucks!"

Hitler then continued with his rant.

"Leap Day causes errors in ATMs. It also causes inaccuracies in Microsoft. It complicates everything that is normally seen. People born on that day have to suffer. It fucks everything up and makes people wonder. I often forget about the extra day every four years. And even during Leap Years, I'm still fighting Stalin!"

"Leap Day is a liability", Hitler said. "Nothing major ever happens on Leap Day. It pisses me off to no end."

Burgdorf looked at the other generals. They were looking at the ground in shame.

"For fucks's sake…Leap Day just makes everything harder. We often forget about that extra day. March 1st should be after February 28th. That's how it always needs to be. February 29th should be burned off the calendar!"

Gerda was busy crying during Hitler's rant.

"Don't worry, we'll have a fun celebration", Traudl Junge said in an attempt to comfort her.

"Leap Day is so exhausting", Hitler said.

"So much difficulty and disbelief. It's hopeless. My war against Leap Day is lost."

The other generals looked at each other, not really sure what to say to make the situation any better.

"If Fegelein dies on Leap Day, then I'll like it. That's the only positive outcome out of this", Hitler said.

He then looked at the ground.

"Screw Leap Day', he said.
