A/N: If you couldn't tell, I really like JiraTsu fanfics. So here's another one. I really like this little oneshot so it may appear in a future story. I do not own Naruto or any affiliated characters.
In the heat of battle, Tsunade sent a well-aimed kick at her opponent. But not before the Iwagakure ninja shot out a powerful fire type jutsu. Not being able to react fast enough, Tsunade closed her eyes and braced herself for the attack. Feeling strong arms wrap around her instead of the burning flames she was expecting, Tsunade opened her eyes. She met Jiraiya's warm and worried gaze. His Needle Jizo technique had protected her from the fire. She was startled out of her thoughts when she felt Jiraiya's lips pressing against her own. Just as quickly as it started, the pressure was gone and Jiraiya was back to fighting.
Soon enough, Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru were headed back to Konoha to report on their scouting mission near the border. The journey wasn't long and Tsunade could tell Jiraiya was anxious about their inevitable chat; he kept glancing at her when he thought she wasn't looking. He knew there was no way in hell she would let him off for that kiss. Arriving in Konoha, they headed straight to the Hokage tower to report their findings. Like Sarutobi had feared, Iwagakure was crowding the border, on the verge of starting another war. "Thanks you three, you'll have the next few days off. You're dismissed. Tsunade, will you check in at the hospital before you go home?"
"Yes sensei." The team turned to leave. While Orochimaru headed straight home, Jiraiya accompanied Tsunade on her walk to the hospital. "We need to talk, Jiraiya."
Nodding, Jiraiya replied, "I know. Did you want me to wait here for you?
"You can if you'd like, I'm not sure how long I'll be. Otherwise I'll just head to your apartment when I'm done." Jiraiya sat down in one of the lobby chairs, his decision clear. While he couldn't see it, Tsunade had a gentle smile on her face as she walked further into the hospital.
About thirty minutes later, Tsunade walked back in the lobby. All the patients had been taken care of by the night staff so all she had to do was catch up on some paperwork.
"Done already, Tsunade-hime?"
"Yep. All I had to do was some paperwork and now I'm free to go." He smiled; he could tell she was happy she didn't have to stay too late. "Well? Should we go?" While his tone was light, his stomach was fluttering with nerves. Before long, they had made it to his apartment and he held the door open for her. Shutting the door behind him, he turned around to face his teammate, his friend.
"Tsunade, I'm so sorry. I don't know why I did what I did. I'd like to blame it on the fact that my adrenaline was rushing and I was worried about you, but I was out of line an— ." Next thing he knew, Tsunade had pulled him down by his flak jacket and pressed her lips against his. Pulling back just a hair, Tsunade looked up to Jiraiya's eyes. "I love you too, baka." Jiraiya just grinned before cradling his hime's head in his hands and pressing his lips against hers. The kiss became heated and his hands wandered down to Tsunade's waist. Wrapping her arms around Jiraiya's neck, she jumped up, wrapping her legs around his waist. While Jiraiya had great control over his body, he wasn't prepared for the sudden pressure on his groin; and his excitement was blatantly obvious to Tsunade. She pressed a little bit harder on him and whispered in his ear, "Mind if we take our chat into the bedroom?" Jiraiya just chuckled. I love her. No doubts about it. With Tsunade still wrapped around him, he carried her to his bedroom, leaving a trail of clothes in their wake.
