A guttural cry escaped his lips as he fell into a blind rage. Grabbing the fallen sword, he retaliated against the attackers. More than a year had passed since he'd fought anything resembling a real fight. Out of shape and out of practice, a bystander would not have been able to tell the difference. The anger fueled his actions, one goal on his mind keeping his focus: Kill these monsters.

The first two fell fast. Knowing full well he wouldn't be able to win this battle alone, the third tried to escape, though the laceration in the leg slowing him with a imp.

The dark-haired man caught up quickly after catching sight of the bloody trail. A sword to the stomach, and then to the heart, the other man was dead.

His vision clearing, he dropped the sword and ran back to the small camp. He fell to his knees beside another man.

A sword protruded from his stomach, blood all but gushing out. He struggled to keep his breathing even. He felt pressure near the wound, looking up to find the other desperately trying to stop the bleeding. Fear and panic shone in those green eyes.

"Perseus..." The blond mumble, reaching for the other's hand. "Don't. Please."

Teary green eyes met blue. "I can't lose you too."

"You're not losing me. I will wait and we'll be together again."

Perseus cried, but allowed his hands to be pulled away from the wound and their fingers laced together.

The blond squeezed his hands, quickly growing weaker. "Do something for me?"

"Anything."

"Tell Annabeth I'm sorry, Thalia she was right, and Reyna that it was an honor."

The green eyes man nodded. "Is that all?"

"Leave me with a kiss."

He couldn't stop the short pained huff of a laugh. "You're such a sap." Perseus mumbled leaning forward.

"Your sap." He corrected.

"My sap..." He closed the last bit of distance, pouring every ounce of emotion he could into the kiss. There was so little time left, not enough for even another word.

The blond was gone by the time Perseus found it in him to pull away. Though he still held his beloved tightly, long after his tears had stopped, leaving him only dryly sobbing. "I love you Lukas..." He mumbled. "I will always love you..."
