Sorry for the wait, I've been battling the ick all week. I'm going to do my best to update this once a week.
Side note, this started out as part of the ABC's of When It Rains and kinda morphed into its own chapter.
Beck's POV
"Wait, I thought we were going to Beck's?" Tori questions as we pull back into the school's parking lot.
"What have I told you about thinking?" Jade snarks playfully at her.
Tori pouts at her and crosses her arms, "Come on guys, I really don't want to be here right now. Can't we go home?"
"No." Jade hops out and opens Tori's door. "Out."
The Latina stares at her, arms still crossed. I sigh and step up to Jade, lightly pulling her away from the car before leaning down to look at Tori.
"Please, I have a surprise for you." Her bottom lip juts out and I fight the urge to lean and nibble it. Holding my hand out to her I wait, ignoring Jade's frustrated sigh. Tori gives in a few moments later and rests her hand in mine. Pulling her out of the car, I lightly wrap my arm around her waist. "Thank you."
"Yeah, yeah, let's go." Jade closes the door and links her fingers with my free hand.
"This okay?" I quietly ask Tori, squeezing her waist and she nods. We're quiet as we make our way to the Black Box and stop at the closed door.
"Ready?"
"No."
"Too bad." Jade pushes open the doors to find the space lightly decorated, music playing and filled with only our friends.
"What-what is this?" Tori walks in looking around.
"Remember when you said you miss dancing?" She turns, facing me. "Now you can dance and not worry about anyone bothering you."
"Yeah, we even made Rex stay outside!" Cat adds bouncing up to us. "Come dance with me!" Not giving the Latina a chance to object she pulls her to the makeshift dance floor. Jade quickly follows and I make my way over to Robbie where he is eating some chips.
"Thanks, for decorating."
He nods, biting another chip. "No problem, Cat had fun blowing up the balloons. But why are we doing this again?"
"To blow off some steam. Besides, are you really going to turn down the chance to dance with Cat?" Andre answers for me, walking over to us.
"No, speaking of," Robbie wipes his hands on his shirt and takes a step towards the dance floor.
"Hold on," I stop Robbie. "What exactly is going on between the two of you? Are you dating or what?" I question.
"Oh, I don't know. We're just having a good time. You know?" He messes with his glasses unable to meet Andre or my eyes.
"Robbie, man, Cat deserves better then you just stringing her along." Andre tells him.
"I know that," there is a slight whine to Robbie's voice. "But she doesn't like it when I bring Rex."
"But do you really need Rex when you're with her?"
"No." He ruffles his hair with a slight frown. "I haven't even really thought about him this afternoon. Oh God, he's going to kill me."
"Dude, he's a puppet."
"Don't call him that!"
I raise my hands in surrender and lean next against the makeshift buffet table., "I'm just saying there is going to come a time when you're going to have to put him down and see what's in front of you before the opportunity is gone."
"I know that, but-" before he can finish his sentence, Cat comes towards us, "Robbie, dance with me." She smile at him and he straightens up. "Milady," he holds out his elbow and she giggles taking it. They make their way to the dance floor joining Tori and Jade.
"So, what's really going on. You've been promising to fill me in but I haven't gotten more then two minutes alone with you in what seems like forever." Andre folds his arms staring me down.
"Well, if you wanted some alone time Andre, you only had to ask." I smirk and look him over.
"Knock it off man, I'm worried."
I sigh and watch the girls.
"This is exactly what you said, a chance to blow off some steam. Tori mentioned the other day she missed dancing, I wanted to give her the opportunity to dance."
"Yeah, that just raises more questions." I stay quiet trying to figure out how much to say. "Come on Man, she's my best friend."
Sighing I look over at him, "Remember that day we all met at my place but Tori never showed up? Something happened-don't ask, it's not my place to say. But it threw Tori for a loop. Jade and I have been helping her through it."
"And by helping her get through it," He gives a little laugh and nudges my arm.
"Helping Tori get through what?" We both jump at Trina's high pitch, turning towards her.
"Nothing. How'd you even get in here?"
"Does this have to do with her sneaking out at night?"
"Tori sneaks out?" Andre questions the same time I say, "Tori, is not sneaking out."
"Tori's not sneaking out of what?" We all turn to find the girl in question standing behind me.
"You're not sneaking out of dancing with me." I say quickly before Trina can open her mouth again, I pull Tori towards the dance floor. Smiling at Jade as she walks towards Trina.
"Nobody likes you. Why are you here?"
"Checking on Tori," Trina ignores Jade's first comment.
"Fine, whatever." She sighs before turning to Andre. "Play a slow song."
"In a min." Andre nods towards the dance floor.
"Now." She growls.
"Fine, fine." Grabbing Robbie's pear pad he plays with it for a minute before the lights dim a bit and the song changes.
"You're not going to cut in?" Trina's eyes are wide as they watch Beck slowly place his hands on Tori's hips.
"Nope." Jade grabs a can of soda and pops the top.
"Can I have the next dance?"
"Sure, right after I pour this soda on your head."
Trina whimpers and moves to the other side of the table.
Tori's POV
"How'd you set this up anyway?" I ask Beck as we slowly sway to the music.
"Said we were having an important ping-pong meeting."
"Very important." I agree looking around. "This is nice." I take a step closer and rest my head against him. Beck's arms circle me as I take a deep breath and try to release some tension.
"I'm glad you like it." I close my eyes and let Beck lead us through the song.
"My turn." I open my eyes and look over to Jade.
"Yeah, okay." I pull away from Beck and step towards the food table.
"Where are you going?"
Shooting a confused look to Beck I answer Jade, "Going to get something to eat."
"So you're not going to dance with me?"
"I thought.." I wave my hand towards Beck. Jade rolls her eyes and grabs my hand pulling me closer to her. "But," my eyes scan the room.
"But what? Cat knows we're dating, Andre already saw you kissing Beck," she continues ignoring how red my face turns, "Robbie is so clueless, we could be naked on the floor an he still wouldn't put it together and Trina already knows something's up. So just take a breath and relax...unless you don't want to dance with me?" Her voice is softer towards the end and I step closer to her.
"I do."
"Good." She wraps her arms around me pulling me close.
"Today was a good day." We're relaxing on Beck's bed, enjoying the peace and quiet after the party from earlier.
"It was." Laying on his side, head propped up by one arm Beck agrees.
"Would have been better if Sinjin and everyone else didn't crash it." Jade remarks, from her customary spot in the middle.
"No, I don't mind. I was getting tired anyway. It gave us the perfect excuse to escape."
Jade nods in agreement. "So, did you talk with Robbie?" She asks turning her face towards Beck.
"A little, then Cat wanted to dance." He runs his hand through his hair before resting it on Jade's stomach. "Andre, was asking about you." He's staring at me and I nibble on my bottom lip.
"Don't do that." Jade reaches up, pulling my lip free.
"What did he ask?"
"Just trying to figure out what's been going on with you. Trina interrupted us though." I nod and curl up closer to Jade.
"You ready for tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I think I am." Before I could say more my phone buzzed. Reaching into my pocket I find a text from my dad. Groaning I put my phone down. "He wants me home for dinner."
Jade pouts, "Room for two more?" I quickly text my dad and it's not too long before he tells me they are more then welcome.
