Red like Roses
"Look out!" Ruby dashed forward flipped over Roman and kicked the Grimm back as it smashed into the control room of the Atlas ship, making it fail and descend to Vale, Ruby was ready to jump, but also watched Roman fall of kilter. She jumped from the ship, while they were enemies, they were also acquaintances, she had come upon him again and again, he was a human and sure enough he didn't deserve to die because he sided with the wrong people, which nearly got him swallowed by a Griffin. She collided with him mid-air, "what are you doing Red?" he asked as the wind went whipping pass them and he had lost his hat in the fall, she managed to hold him and angle her Crescent rose to shoot downwards to lighten them to land on a rooftop, it was hard but they collided softer than she had expected.
They tumbled and landed with her on top of him, he had grunted at the impact, while she had no more aura left from their fight, he still had a lot, she had hurt her wrist on the landing, "ow," she complained as she sat up. He had watched her on top of him, "what the hell Red, we are enemies, why, it doesn't make sense, you don't make sense," he tried to wrap his head around it, "I don't want anyone else dying today, plus I would rather kill a Grimm than kill you," that made him blink as he saw just how innocent and naive she was, "and you want to become a huntress, sorry to burst your bubble but you will need to start learning to kill people too." That had made her swallow in shock at his words but also she had not moved from him and he seemed to only now realise as he sat up, "come on, get off, I need to meet up with Neo… till next time Red," he picked up his hat from the roof top and tipped it to her, a way of saying thankyou for her help and letting him leave even though they were on opposing sides.
Cinder was no longer a friend nor a foe, he was leaving it as it was to go to Mistral and continue with his gig as a master thief. It didn't go unnoticed that he got so angered that this hopeful huntress was still so blind to the world, it had annoyed him that she was still so sheltered, he wanted to rip that Band-Aid off and hurt her for all that he too had been hurt. He was however shocked that she had saved him, saved him from a Grimm and his own anger, they had been meeting and dancing around each other for a long time now, she was always coming along to step in his way but also foiling his plans; it was annoying but also tiresome. Roman was aged by life experiences, he knew for a fact that leaving her to live was only going to bite him in the arse later on, but he would leave that to future Roman to deal with.
His scroll buzzed as he looked to see text's from Neo, she was panicking seeing the ship had crashed and exploded, he had messaged her back, "meet me at our usual spot, we will need to leave for Mistral." He closed his scroll and watched as Red dashed off to help others, he sighed and shook his head, that girl was persistent and it annoyed him however he remembered once when he was big eyed and innocent, he wanted to see more people like her, but he knew it always ended terribly.
