Extinction
A virus across Earth is spreading,
And there's naught that Man can do.
Strikes down the living, raises the dead,
Kills animals, plants too.
…
Look around, take in the dust,
Behold Eden turned to Hell.
Behold the rotten shambling bodies,
As their numbers surely swell.
…
Take in the sense of despair knowing,
That none here are immune.
See the living roam the dust,
Trying to outrun their doom.
…
And beyond sight, the chosen ones,
In bases deep beneath the earth.
Those who bear the white and red,
Who watch the world with mirth.
…
Those who will survive the flood,
And find a new world for the taking.
Just need to wait, need to survive,
This horror of their making.
…
They've brought about the end of days,
Now they watch the planet die.
A world shared by the dead and living,
Under uncaring sky.
