Don't be

A/N: A little bit of Jamko domestication.

"Honey, I'm home." Jamie called out as he entered their apartment.

Jamie tossed his keys in the bowl by the door, and placed his shoes and duffel bag by the door. He then hung his coat up on the hooks hanging on the wall. Once he'd finished his usual routine, he looked around in the apartment, and discovered his wife of 3 months sitting on the couch. Once he got a little closer, he discovered she was watching one of her favorite cooking shows.

"Hey, babe." He said, as he gave her a peck on the cheek from behind the couch.

"Hi. How was shift?" Eddie asked, not looking away from the tv.

Jamie rounded the couch and sat down next to Eddie before answering.

"Same old boring paperwork. I feel like it never ends now. What about you? How was your shift?"

"Mmm , mine was pretty boring too. There was a lost little girl, though. We looked for her mom for almost two hours before we turned her over to social services and gave the case to detectives at the 32."

"Do you know what happened to the mom?"

"No, but I can assume it was a homicide. I just feel so bad for that little girl. She's all alone in the big, scary world."

"I'm sure she'll be ok, babe." Jamie comforted, as he snaked his hand under the blanket. He gently rubbed her bare leg, in an effort to comfort her.

Without even really thinking, Eddie jerked her leg away from him.

"What's wrong? What did I do wrong?"

"Uh, nothing. Your hand's just cold." She lied.

Jamie noticed her hand. She was always doing something with her hand when she lied. He picked up her hand by her wrist, wordlessly telling her he knew she was lying.

"That's not the truth and you know it."

Eddie sighed.

"Fine. The truth is, I haven't shaved in like 5 days, and I don't want you to feel my leg stubble. I don't want you to be grossed out or think less of me."

Jamie, at a loss for words, chuckled in response.

"It's not funny, Jamie. I'm being serious."

"Eddie. I'm your husband. Your best friend. Your life partner. I love you. Do you really think a little leg stubble would make me think less of you? I couldn't care less if you've shaved in the last two months or not. I don't love you for your lack of body hair. I love you because I love who you are."

"Yeah, but still."

"Baby, I don't care. Trust me, your leg hair does not gross me out. Leg hair or no leg hair, I still love you the same."

After staring into his eyes. Eddie realized he was being sincere. She simply leaned in and lightly kissed his lips. When they broke apart, she whispered a soft "I love you too" on his lips.

The couple spent the rest of the night curled up in each other's arms, watching some mindless tv. They loved each other, regardless of the other's physical features, and that's really all that mattered.
