Two Faces

It was already late evening, when Aquarius Degel was heading back to his Temple. The sky was slowly darkening above the Sanctuary, many stars were visible on the satin firmament. Now, when he looked up at them, he didn't saw anything strange, like since many weeks. This disturbing feeling he and the Pope had, disappeared. After all the reason, why stars were showing them something unexpected, was here, right? Milo and Camus came from the future, making the biggest surprise ever. Degel had to admit, that even now he couldn't believe what happened. He was smart, yes, but something like that was beyond his intelligence. It was something he never dreamed off, something he couldn't imagine. Travel in the time?

It was strange day, really strange. Seeing his own face and at the same time a face of someone else was incredible. It was causing him a strange sensation. And looking at the same face as Kardia. Oh, of course, their features were a little different. Milo really seemed to be calmer than his predecessor. He was warmer, less wild and less rapacious. Kardia was always living to the fullest; he was taking everything from the current day. He was sadistic and loved to torture his enemies; at the same time he was really caring, Degel could see that. But anyway, these two were really different. Kardia was dangerous, really dangerous, and everyone could feel it. He was like a scorpion, with his all presence saying that he was ready to kill at any moment. But Milo…. He wasn't such a beast. Degel knew that as a Scorpio Saint he was as dangerous as Kardia, but he was hiding it. His nature was kinder; everyone could feel safe in the presence of the future Saint of the Scorpio Constellation. Camus… Camus was different than him too. In Degel opinion Milo was different in good way than Kardia, but in Camus' case it was opposite. The future Saint was way colder than him, way inaccessible and closed. He seemed to be an ice statue without feelings. Yes, he, Degel of the Aquarius was trying to save some distant from his other fellows, he was close only with Kardia, his best friend, but to the other Saints he was nice, kind and he liked to smile. He liked to talk with them, change opinions and sometimes even just sit beside. He liked his companions and had many feelings, warm feelings towards them. But after spending this whole time with these two men from the future, he had to admit, that Camus was mostly similar with him only by appearance. Degel noticed how cold this man was. He bet in the future he wasn't so close to his companions like Degel was with his own. It seemed that future Saint was as distant from others as being one of Athena's Saints allowed him to be. It was sad; it was like Camus couldn't make any friends with this nature, like he would be alone for the rest of his life.

And then Degel saw in his mind the scene he witnessed not so long time ago. This kiss between Camus and Milo, this passion in the eyes of the future Saint of Aquarius, these greedy hands and gently lips. And he heard his words, determined and warm words. "We are lovers."

"We are lovers."

Degel felt like his cheeks turned red for a while on the memory of this kiss. He never had the chance of kissing someone. Not in that way. Not lips to lips… Only kisses he did were placed on the hands of ladies. Nothing more. And now, seeing these two men, kissing calmly in the abandoned hut was strange. It was making him to feel uneasy. And looking at that, at two men who looked like him and Kardia was far stranger. Oh, Goddess, it was like looking at himself kissing Kardia!

Heat spread around his body quickly, making him to blush more. Why it was happening? He was witnessing only their kiss! Nothing more. They were from the future, Saints that came here from the XX century! So why, knowing all of this, he was seeing in his memory not the face of Milo and Camus but his own and Kardia's one? Why? He never had such a desire toward his friend, Kardia was actually someone not fitted to have lover. He was wild, sadistic and dangerous. He was living very fast! And… And why he was thinking about something like that?!

He took a few deep breathes, shook his head and felt like this strange heat was disappearing from his body.

He was sunk into his own thoughts so deeply, that it was too late when he realized someone else's presence. He crushed with someone, making a moan of pain when two heads hit together. He blinked a few times, rubbed his hurt place and looked at the other person, who was snorting irritated.

"Kardia?"

His friend, Scorpio Saint looked at him a little confused, avoiding his violet eyes. The wild man took a few steps backward, observing the nearest building with the unexpected passion. Degel frowned a little on this strange behavior. It passed a while before he realized something else.

"Oh, Kardia, do you have a fever?" he asked, looking at red cheeks of his companion. It was always starting like that; his friend had reed cheeks and the next moment his forehead was so hot, that Degel was afraid of his health. This damn heart…

Kardia twitched, hearing such a worry in Aquarius' voice.

"Fever..." he hesitated. "No. Why do you think I'm feverish?"

Degel sighed and approached his friend, intending to check it by himself. Sometimes Kardia was really stubborn and was hiding his state from green haired Saint. But before he managed to put his hand on Scorpio's forehead, the wild man again took a few, sudden steps backward.

"Kardia? Why…?" Degel looked at him surprised. His friend never, never acted like that. Yes, he could be irritated, angry, he could complain about too much concern about his health, but he was never running. "What's wrong with you so sudden?"

"It is nothing…" murmured the Scorpio, still avoiding the violet eyes of his friend.

"Then why are you blushing? And… And why are you so disturbed…" continued Degel. "Something happened? Stop playing these games. I know you long enough to be sure that something happened. Answer me."

Kardia gulped loudly at the memory of what he saw just a while ago. He felt his cheeks burning more and more, especially after seeing his friend, Degel. It was… It was awful to look at the same face that while ago…

Unwillingly he looked where behind all the buildings the small hut, now inhabited by Camus and Milo, was standing. Degel caught this look and it passed only a few seconds before he realized what Kardia had to see just a while ago. He cursed strongly under his nose, causing Kardia to gasp in the surprise.

"For Athena's name, Degel! It s the first time I'm hearing you cursing so hard!"

Degel took a few deep breathes, calming himself a little. He couldn't believe how someone could be so irresponsible!

"It is just… I suppose I know why you are blushing, Kardia."

The Scorpio looked at him really surprised but at the same time suspiciously.

"You saw them, right? Milo and Camus…" the Aquarius added with a long sight. "And just after I warned them!"

"Warned…?"

"Yes, warned. You saw them kissing, right?" murmured Degel, really upset now. He could ask Kardia to stay quiet about this, but what if someday someone else could see them two as well? They could be punished; they could be sentenced even for death. These ages were strange; some of them would accept that, some of them not. Actually Degel had no idea how the Pope Sage would react. Outside the Sanctuary it was a mortal sin in some place of the world, but here, they never faced such a case. Not in this century. The Aquarius never heard about someone killed because of love, but who knows…?

"Kissing…?" Kardia gulped loudly. Well, maybe he was a newbie in this situation, but what he saw surely wasn't just kissing. He still could see inside his mind these two faces, his own and Degel's, with an expression of the ecstasy, moaning loudly into the space, whispering the names of each other. He still could see these sparkling eyes, their naked bodies linked in something he wasn't expecting to see there, their linked lips, and their screams. Their hands in erotic hug, their hips, moving faster and faster, their hairs. And their faces… Their faces. "It wasn't just…" Kardia stopped for a while. "How do you know?"

Degel sighed, remembering this passionate kiss he witnessed.

"I saw them kissing a while ago. But what do you mean it wasn't just kissing?"

Kardia shook his head to get rid of the image of him and Degel in such an act of love and snorted, coming back to his own self.

"You missed the best part, Degel. I think you saw only the beginning…"

Degel moaned with frustration, causing his friend to chuckle.

"And believe me, it was a good show," added the Scorpio, observing carefully his friend. Degel blushed, when he realized what about Kardia was talking. The blue haired man smiled, looking at these blushes, and again seeing this sexual scene. Suddenly he felt heat, exploding in his loins.

"Kardia, it didn't matter if it was a good show or not," answered Degel unwillingly imaging what happened after the kiss and seeing his own face at Camus place… "If someone else will know about this, they could be in danger. We don't know…"

"You are complaining, Degel. It is not like they were doing it outside the hut. Their door was locked too. I just saw them throw the window, that's all."

"Yes, but what if…"

"Degel, stop being so boring," Kardia smiled warmly, trying to control this strange heat in his loins that was exploding every time he was looking at Degel. "Let them have fun. I won't say a thing about it to anyone else, and I bet you will do the same. So stop worrying."

"But Kardia…"

Scorpio moaned loudly from the frustration. Sometimes Degel was so stubborn. It's not like he hated that, actually it was kind of cute about his friend to be so stubborn about almost everything, but sometimes it was tiring. He shook his head and started to walk the stairs to the first Temple of the Sanctuary, leaving frustrated and complaining Degel behind.

"And Milo, remember, don't say anything that could change the future," said Camus, walking with his lover through the Temples to see the current Pope and Athena. "Don't say who will die; don't say what will happen in this war. Don't even mention who will be current reincarnation of Hades. They don't know it yet."

"Yes, yes, I remember…" murmured Milo, upset a little. Now Camus was treating him like a nuisance, like a kid, who doesn't know how to behave. It hurt, really hurt. It was like Camus was considering him as not intelligent enough to have his own share in this upcoming meeting.

"Actually it would be the best to leave everything to me, Milo," added Camus at the end. "You are so full of compassion and I'm just too afraid that something could slip from behind your mouth, darling. And then we could die."

"Yes, Camus, I know. You are repeating this since dawn," sighed the future Scorpio, looking at the majestic building of the Pope. He actually was a little afraid of their meeting. He knew they would have to talk about their own War and it wasn't something Milo could talk about so easily. It was still painful…

"Don't be so sad, Milo…" murmured Camus, looking with worry at his beloved one. "I know it is cruel form my side, but I really don't want to see you disappearing in front of my eyes. And I bet you don't want me disappearing as well."

"Of course not! Camus, I know the consequences, I won't tell anything that could harm you!"

French smiled warmly. Milo was always full of feeling towards his companions, sometimes it was really tiring. But Camus knew how it felt to know that someone who looked like his lover would die. He felt that too. This frustration, this sorrow that Kardia would die as well. And it would happen really soon. It wasn't so painful for him, not as much as for Milo, but it was making him to feel uncomfortable every time he was thinking about it.

"Just please, hold you tongue sometimes," added Camus quietly, stopping in the front of the big doors, where behind the Pope with Lady Athena were waiting.

Milo nodded shortly, still being hurt by Camus behavior, but he didn't say anything else. He pushed the big, wooden doors and both of them walked inside the big chamber, where they saw more people than they expected. They could see Lady Athena, sitting at the throne, Pope Sage, standing at her right side, Aquarius Degel, who smiled warmly to them and Shion, Saint of Aries, looking at them friendly. For a while they expected that even Dohko would show up, but it seemed he couldn't be there. Only absence of Kardia surprised them more. He and Degel seemed to be inseparable.

"I'm glad to see you two," said Lady Athena, looking as they bowed before her with respect. "How are your wounds?"

"Please, don't worry, Lady Athena, we are fine," answered Milo. He couldn't believe how kind and nice this Athena was. Their own Goddess cared only about her five Bronze Saints; they were everything for her, and wounded Gold Saint had the smallest meaning for her as long as her beloved Pegasus was fine. But this one… She cared; she really cared about them, about her warriors.

"Please, don't push yourself too hard, my dear Saints. I know it is hard for you to be here," Lady Athena smiled warmly. "Like you can see, Shion and Degel refused to let us to hear your story alone," she added.

Milo smiled as well, taking a look at their faces.

"Dohko wanted to be here as well, but he had to leave to Italy suddenly," murmured Shion with a joyful voice. "Oh, he was so envy that I could be here but he not…"

"When he will be back, we will tell him everything what he would like to know, be assured," smiled Camus.

"Kardia said he don't care about future…" whispered Degel. He knew very well, why the Scorpio didn't want to be here. It was logical after what he saw yesterday in the small house, where Camus and Milo were living right now. Actually he had to talk to them after this meeting. If something like that would happen again and if someone else would see them… Degel had no idea what would happen.

"I have so many questions!" Lady Athena said gladly, looking at her two future Saints. "Let's begin!"
