Talks

"How do you feel?" asked the Aquarius leaning his shoulder against the doorframe and smiling a little ironically.

"Good," murmured shortly the Scorpio. He still could feel the awful pain of Milo's attack and it was something really irritating him. It could be called his first time when he got beaten so much in a match. Earlier he never lost to someone stupid enough to accept the challenge. Well, it was a pretty good fight between them, Kardia felt completely satisfied, but he never expected this to happen. He never felt such a pain. "What are you looking at me like that?" he snarled, noticing that Degel was stills smiling ironically.

"Be honest, you never expect him to be so skilled and dangerous," murmured Degel, having a sit at the chair next to the bed. "You thought you would finish him quickly, but I think he thwarted your plans."

Kardia smirked.

"Oh, somehow I hoped he wouldn't be just a small fish, which don't know how to fight. But in the first place I was expecting him to be really weak, since he and Camus allowed them to be sent to the past," answered Kardia.

"So, I think now you believe he isn't enemy," started Degel after a short while.

"No, he is Scorpio, there is no mistake about it. But… did he survive?"

Degel looked surprised at Kardia. Did his friend just showed a sign of worry about Milo?

"Ohhh… Are you worried about him?"

The Scorpio snorted, sitting on the bed, and after a while starting to laugh.

"Worried? Me? Sorry, Degel but he isn't the person I could be worried about."

"Really? Then why are you asking?"

"Isn't it obvious, Degel? It would be a shame if such a warrior would die in the bed, because his sissy boyfriend stopped him to fight to the end on the arena," murmured Kardia quietly, but feeling a little hesitant about it right now. Actually he wasn't thinking about Milo as his prey he would like to hunt like many others enemies. He wanted to die in a fight with a big shot, with someone really strong and which death could be a little troublesome for someone. The death of Milo… wouldn't bring him glory not would be troublesome for Hades. Or for anyone he wanted to mess with.

"Well, I'm glad that we, Camus and I stopped you there. You two could die there. It is miracle you two survived. Do you know, that with his next attack he would kill you?"

"So what? You know, that I'm living the fullest and I WANT to die while fighting with my life on the line." This whole moralistic talk started to irritate him a little.

"Yes, I know. But right now you have your duties as a Gold Saint, Kardia. The Holy war is close."

"I don't care about that. If I die before the Holy War in a good fight I would have no regrets about dying, Degel. You should know that."

"Yes, I'm aware of that. But I don't want you to die in a fight with Milo. I bet he doesn't want to die right now as well."

"How do you know? He is my successor. He is like me," the Scorpio snorted.

"No, he isn't, Kardia. He is far more passionate than you and treasures his life more. His heart is healthy, so he doesn't have to live the fullest life, afraid the every day could be his last. He has Camus and I bet he would be very sad about loosing Milo because of the stupidity of both of you, Kardia!"

"Well, since it seems you like him more than me, then what are you doing here, Degel?! Go to him and pity the Scorpio of the future who seems to fascinate you!"

"What are you talking about, Kardia?" asked Degel, surprised and irritated a little.

"Just leave me alone, Degel. I want to rest," murmured Kardia and turned his back, covering his head with the blanket.

Ugh, how angry he was right now. Degel really seemed to be fascinated about these two Saints from the future and it was strangely irritating him. He couldn't understand it. Every time he looked at Degel he was seeing this scene in the small hut; Camus and Milo in the ecstatic embrace, but instead of the Saints from the future him and Degel. These two were too similar, it was making him almost sick. He didn't want to feel that, it was like he could mistake Camus for Degel at any moment.

And this pain of Milo's Needles was pissing him off all the time. Now he wanted to kill some enemy, to free his new frustration.

He sighed angrily, hearing Degel leaving his room and after a long while he fell asleep, waiting for the pain to disappear finally.

With a long sigh Degel left Kardia's bedroom, wondering what happened to his friend. He never was so aggressive to him, he never acted like that. Was it because today for the first time Kardia almost lost his fight? That for the first time he was forced to defend his life in the front of his fellow he never wanted to kill? Because his pride was hurt? That he lost to Milo in front of everyone's eyes? Or maybe the reason was quite different?

He didn't have more time to think, because just after entering the hallway, he met someone's unexpected. Camus of the Aquarius was walking firmly through the Temple of Kardia, spreading the irritation around. The atmosphere was so thick and gloomy that Degel almost chocked.

"Oh, Camus, hello."

Camus nodded and tried to smile, but Degel could see clearly the anger inside the dark, blue eyes..

"Why are you here? Wanna meet Lady Athena?" he asked, alongside with his successor heading to the exit.

"Actually no. I wanted to see you. I would like to borrow a few books, if it is possible," answered Camus, trying to calm his turbulent mind.

"No problem… But tell me… Something happened? You seem to be upset," started Degel hesitantly.

For a long while Camus was silent. They managed to leave the Scorpio Temple and they almost entered the next one before he opened his mouth and said something.

"It is about Milo. We… just argued strongly…" Camus murmured, wondering if it was a good idea to talk with Degel about that. But Degel was his predecessor, they were the same soul, and Camus felt pretty good in his presence. And maybe he would feel a little better after telling everything. "About their fight."

Well, for Degel it was exceptionable. Form the very beginning Camus was against this fight and after all he had the right a little. Two Scorpions almost killed each other.

"I still can't believe what happened at the arena. Milo turned into the monster. I never saw him like this," started Camus, while they were closer and closer to the Eleventh House of the Zodiac.

Yes, Degel wasn't sure if it was a dream as well. Milo acted like a real beast, controlled only by his instinct. He even never saw Kardia fighting like that, but the truth was that, the Scorpio never had a fight when he would have to use even his instinct to win.

"Well, maybe Milo was trying to never show you this, because he knew how you would react," answered Degel, looking at his Temple almost in the front of them. Only a few stairs left to stand at the foot of the round, big building.

"Maybe… We never have the occasion to fight together with someone who would be really dangerous for us," sighed Camus, stopping at the last stair and looking at the Temple which in the future would be his. "I don't know what I should think. Today's fight just denied most of the things Milo said to me about this… change."

"It is probably he doesn't know this change himself," answered Degel, looking a little worried at Camus. He could see how much this fight, how much seeing his lover in that state shocked him. He himself wasn't shocked so much. Kardia usually was wild beast, so seeing Milo a little wilder than his friend wasn't surprising as much as Camus thought it could be. "He doesn't control it, and everything he knows right now is that he changes when he don't want to fight but have to. It is what he told you, right?"

Camus nodded, walking behind his predecessor, feeling pretty good in this Temple. It was so comfortable to be here. Like he was home.

"Yes. A few times he had to kill someone he didn't want to and then he changed into that monster we saw today," murmured Camus, looking around and being amazed how nice he felt right now. "But he agreed to fight with Kardia, he wanted to fight. And he knew he can't kill him to not change our times. I have no idea, why he turned into this beast today."

Degel sighed, opening the doors of his personal library. Camus gasped, seeing so many books in this space. His own library was pretty small, not many of the books survived the Holy War of XVIII century and another two hundred years.

"You have really surprised face, Camus. Like you are seeing library in this size for the first time in your life," Degel chuckled, observing the expression of his future successor.

"Huh?" Camus looked at Degel a little absently. Then he smiled. "Oh, no, of course not. It is because in my times there is only a few of them that managed to survive this whole time."

"Really? It is awful. I can't imagine how these books could be destroyed."

"May I?" Camus asked, feeling his muscles tense from waiting. He wanted to touch them right now, to open them and read. He could see many old volumes, volumes thick and thin, leather-bound books that were smelling so nicely.

"Of course, make yourself at home. I will ask the Pope to give you permission to enter his library. Believe me; it is at least three times bigger.

But Camus only nodded, completely absorbed by the scent of these books. Degel chuckled slightly and left him alone, wanting to take a long walk around the Sanctuary. He was thinking about visiting Milo, actually he was quite interested in this… this strange change that occurred not long ago at the arena.

But when the Aquarius Saint finally reached the destination Scorpio Milo wasn't found inside the small hut he and Camus was sharing now. The building was empty, only the tangled blanket proved that someone was living there.

"Milo!" Degel shouted loudly, wondering what caused the future Scorpio to leave the bed. Was he already healed? Did the pain disappear already? But what about wounds? They were dangerous by itself. "Milo!"

It passed a long while before he heard the unnatural hum of the leaves. A few moments later the blue haired man appeared, walking out from the forest.

"Oh, it is you…" his Milo murmured, disappointed a little.

"You thought it was Camus?" asked Degel, seeing clearly, that the Scorpio was upset not less like his lover, who right now was calming himself in the library.

"Yes, your voices are pretty similar. But it is only you…"

"I'm sorry to disappoint you for not being him…" said Degel facetiously.

Milo gasped a little, and after turning away his sight, he said:

"Sorry, I didn't wasn't to be mean. I'm just…"

"Angry at him? Yes, I know you two had a quarrel. I met Camus already."

Milo snorted being really irritated. So, now Camus was fast with talking about their problems with someone else, than coming here and solving it together?

"He won't come quickly," added the Aquarius. "He is in my library."

Milo laughed shortly, coldly, making Degel to be surprised. He didn't expect such a behavior.

"Right. Library," the Scorpio snorted, entering the hut and sitting beside the table, looking like Degel took the sit as well. "Why I was expecting something else? Escaping, like always," he murmured, almost forgetting about the green haired Saint's presence.

"Oh, it seems you are pretty angry at him, Milo."

The blue haired man looked at his companion, frowning a little.

"Of course I am! Firstly he is treating me like a brainless brutal, who fights only to kill, and now he is escaping. Like always. Ugh, I can imagine him feeling 'oh, so much hurt by Milo' and considering himself as the victim of this whole quarrel," Milo said, forgetting that a while ago he was angry at Camus because of telling Degel everything. "Degel, he is treating me like a brainless kid; could you believe that it is me, who always has to apologize? Because he is 'so damn intelligent and stubborn. and oh so cold', that it seems it is far below his pride to come and only once apologize firstly."

He didn't even notice he was yelling. His fists hit strongly the wooden table, almost broking it under the impact. Degel blinked surprised a few times, before making a sound. He could see so much frustration in Milo's words, but he couldn't believe as well, that Camus was so selfish.

"It is hard to believe, that Camus…" he started, but a cold smirk stopped him.

"Hard to believe? Yes, it is. But also it is the truth. I know that I'm not so calm and cool headed like him, maybe I'm not reading so many books like him, but he is acting pretty self-concerned. Like he always has right," added Milo much more calmed now.

Degel sighed deeply. While talking with Camus he noticed that strange behavior, telling everyone, that he was the most intelligent, so he had the right as well. It was slight feeling, but easily sensible.

"Maybe you should talk with each other…" he proposed, knowing it was idiotic. Actually he didn't know what to say, it was the first time he dealt with such a situation.

"Talk. Yeah, right. Talk with someone who is concerned more about books than me," Milo murmured, now cloudy a little. "I tried to talk with him many times, Degel. But he was behaving like I was too immature to understand any thing and was ending the whole talk. Sometimes I'm bored…"

Degel frowned strongly. Where was this love he saw yesterday?

"Talk to him?" he asked. Actually it would be a little awkward, talking to almost himself, but because they were the same soul, maybe he would easier knock some sensitivity into Camus.

"No, it is our problem, not yours. Sooner or later it will get better, don't worry," answered Milo, knowing that even if Degel would talk with Camus, nothing would change.

The Aquarius smiled with a worried look, wondering if it really would be okay. Maybe he didn't know Camus for too long, but as the same soul, he actually could feel some things better than others. For him there was no doubt that Camus loved Milo – he could see it in the cold eyes of the future Aquarius. But it seemed that his successor from both of these two guests acted like a child for the most. Deeply inside his heart he was amazed, that Milo managed to stay as Camus' lover for so long time – he himself would give up long time ago. So, was it possible to be better between these two new persons in this Sanctuary? Or maybe he should talk with Camus after all? Degel liked them both pretty much and it would be really sad for him, if this relationship would fall apart just because they landed over two hundreds years earlier.

Milo smiled to him warmly and Degel almost believed everything would be better. But he noticed this strange shadow of worry inside these bright eyes of the future Warrior of Athena.
