Chapter 7 Unusual Nicknames, Mystery Orphan

Vanellope and Vanilla got out of Vanellope's car and we immediately surrounded by

paparazzi, the only thing is they weren't there to see Vanellope as much as Vanellope

thought them to be coming to her. To her amazement they separated her from the timid racer

she'd been looking after, technically for 2 days but Vanellope was starting to get used to

her. Vanilla stood like a deer in headlights surrounded by the candied producers and

photographers and interviews, people were leveling themselves down to her height to stick

mikes in her face. "Where did she come from?" asked the ladies amongst themselves they

pushed the mikes down to her height. Vanilla was petrified as the people got in her space

"How old are you?" said a man "Do you always create incredible burst of speed like that?!"

said another "Are you lost?!" cried a women "Where are you heading?" said a reporter "What

are your reports of sugar rush?" asked a night crawler "Would you say your family would be

proud?" said a magazine man. As the questions came pouring in Vanilla violently burst into

uncontrollable sobs "I- I she stutters "I don't have a family!" She pushes threw the people

and citizens alike going under their legs everyone watches her in shock! Meanwhile

Vanellope's jumping up and down over the crowd trying to locate Vanilla. "Ya'll are

saturated vultures don't crowd the poor kid!" Vanilla made her way under all the tall legs

and Vanellope spotted her bright blueness she wore Vanilla crashed into Gloyd Orangeboar

"HEY!" "Watch it!" she shook and ran for her life he took off after Vanilla "If I ever get

my hands on you!" "So help me!" Vanellope asked Jubileena if she had seen her and she

replied "Sorry Vani, I've only seen her with you." The reporters got to Vanellope.

"President Von Schweetz, how does it feel to be the youngest president to ever adopt a

child?" Vanellope shot them all an exasperated glare "SHE'S NOT MY KID!" In the distance

the tiny little girl herd Vanellope's roar of words and found a broken candy-cane-tree to

hide behind and cry. Vanellope continued to explain… "Sure maybe like I took her in but

I'm not the mother, I'm looking out for her that's it and you boozo's just made me loose

her!" Vanellope push through the citizens rudely in vain and ran through the forest she

had only been with her for the shortest time but somehow Vanellope felt like it was a

lifetime. The more she thought of the little girl on her own the more she worried! She

slapped herself in the face "What am I doing?" "It was all about me, and she's been on her

own as far as I know she can survive out there." She then thought about how weak she

expected Vanilla to be and had this bad feeling she was caught somewhere. Vanellope's eyes

cringed and she trudged on and continued her search she ran frantically into the center of

the candy-cane-forest near Velvet-cake track. "VANILLA!" the name echoed through the

sweet trees "NILLA!" Vanellope reached into the goopy taffy swamp. "Yuck!" she felt the

sticky mess in between her fingers not that it wasn't cool to her she just didn't feel like

touching the stuff." "Squirt!" Vanellope dug in it "Did ya fall in there?" Vanilla was

right next to the tree but when she saw Vanellope digging in the gross pond she toppled

over in laughter. "Hehehehaha hahahaha!" Vanellope froze and looked behind her and saw

Vanilla joy came to her but her cheeks turned red, "Ah there you see I knew ya were fine

all along!" she makes a face a disgust and tries to wipe the taffy off, while Vanilla's

still laughing up a storm pointing at her. Vanellope's smile fades into a serious frown

"Look!" "I was only digging in that slime-pit be 'cause I thought'ya fell in!" "Shut up!"

Vanilla stopped laughing and Vanellope walked forward to her she narrowed her eyes pricing

Vanilla's "Don' ever run away from me again!" "That wasn't cool!" Vanellope pointed down by

her side "From now on I want yer small butt next to me at all times!" "No exceptions!"

"No if an's or buts you hearing me little racer?" Vanilla stood up tall and saluted in a

giggling tone "hehehe-Y-yes Vann- however Vanellope interrupted her. "That's Yes Mam'e to

you!" Vanellope stared at her crudely and Vanilla just smiled from ear to ear "Yes

President Bossy Britches!" She laughed and Vanellope paused and flared at Vanilla "That's

it come here!" Vanilla dodged her and climbed on her back even though she was a tad scared

of heights "Hey!" "What'a'yah Get off'a me!" "I dun'like to be touched!" Vanilla kept

giggling making bunny ears on top of Vanellope's head with her small fingers, Vanellope

waved her arms frantically trying to catch Vanilla's small hand and disable her but Vanilla

made her miss and she continued to giggle at Vanellope's raging moves unknown and innocent

that Vanellope could have been ready to hurt her "Gee your funny!" "Do that again!"

Vanellope sulked "Get Off!" Vanilla climbed down from her looking innocent "Hey!"

"Vanellope!" Vanilla shouted Vanellope turned and gave her a smug look "What!" Vanilla

pointed behind her "what's that!" Vanellope looked the other way "wha….." says Vanellope

suddenly cutting off her sentence as Vanilla rebounded off her back and snatched her

beloved twizzler tie from her hair and then begins running away with it. "Wha-Hey!? Where

are you going!? Come back!" screams out Vanellope as she begins running after Vanilla,

Vanilla was a little hurt from Vanellope's shout a minute ago so she decided to push
Vanellope's buttons!

Vanellope runs after Vanilla for a couple of minutes before stopping to catch her breath

the little girl had more energy than her.

"Howdy Neighbor!" Says Vanilla joyfully as she sits on the top branch of a candy cane tree

which was surrounded by a small pond of clear syrupy soda.

"Vanilla!? Get down here right now!" screams out Vanellope in anger and frustration ready

to blow her top her hair messed up now loose.

"Come up here and make me Nut-brain!" screams out Vanilla cockily with a smirk on her face as she licks a lollipop.

"Okay I will!" and you are going to so regret all this when I get up there!" screams out

Vanellope in anger as she leaps over the small pond

and begins climbing the candy cane tree grabbing a couple of branches to hoist herself up,

she then realizes she is just two branches away from her little sister

"Oh you are so de…." Says Vanellope cutting off her sentence suddenly as the branch she is
grabbing on flashes before, fading away

"Double Stripe" says Vanilla cockily with a grin as she takes another lick of the lollipop

"What the…?" says Vanellope in confusion as grabs onto another branch holding onto it to
keep herself from falling into the clear soda pond below.

"I swear I will get you back you diaper-rash!" says Vanellope in frustration as she begins

once again climbing stepping on a branch she realizes she is close to Vanilla

"Aha! You're as good as finished brat" Vanellope cockily shouts as she reaches her hand for Vanilla's small leg

"And…..Double Stripe" says Vanilla smugly with a smile on her face giggling

The branch Vanellope is standing on then blinks before disappearing, sending Vanellope

plunging into the clear syrupy soda pond Vanilla then glitches her halfway down on the

lowest branch, starring on the other side of the pond as Vanellope stickily rises up from
the water.

"Hey missy! Enjoy the fall!?" says Vanilla with a grin on her face

"Not Funny" Vanellope shouts angrily with a scowl on her face

"Oh c'mon cheer up!.. Says Vanilla cheerfully yet sarcastically with a smirk as she waves

her lollipop in front of her new sister's face "Have a lollie?"

Vanellope then tackles Vanilla to the ground and begins tickling her giggling.

"Stop it Vanellope!" giggles out Vanilla with a smile on her face.

Stop it! Stop it! Says Vanellope mockingly as she tickles Vanilla to death

Vanellope starts giggling along with Vanilla as she tickles her.

Vanilla tries to push Vanellope of but her big sister's strength is no match for her

Vanellope tickles her for a couple of more minutes "Give it Baaaack." she teases her sister

laughing in her ear. Vanilla weakly puts Vanellope's hair tie in her sweatshirt pocket. "Oh

your gonna do that huh?" Vanellope stares her down she offers Vanilla a hand Vanilla takes

her hand. but regrettably is hoisted over her big sister's shoulders Vanellope pokes her

little nose carrying her to her over to the water dangling her over the soda "Yer, dead."

Vanellope smiles "Give it back or you take a bath in the ice cold soda bog!" Vanilla

screams and hands Vanellope back her tie, Vanellope smirks braggingly I knew your little

girly girl brain would give in." "You're too easy." Vanellope set her down and rubbed

taffy on her face "You're a baby." "Eww!" wailed Vanilla "You're disgusting!" Vanellope

mocked her once again "Waaaa, it's dirty." Vanellope then stopped teasing her and felt her

lips tremble pulling Vanilla into a relieving hug. "Thank Programmer you're okay." Vanilla

looked up at her "I understand if you don't want me to stay with you anymore I heard you."

Vanellope put more taffy on her face "Dang reporters, well ignore what I said pipsqueak

there's something I'd rather do with ya." She held out her hand it was still slimed

Vanellope spoke in a sing-song-teasing tone to Vanilla "You wanna be my sister Squirt you

gotta shake on it and hold my haaa—aand." Vanilla looked grossed out she turned green then

she gently shook the top part of Vanellope's arm avoiding her hand "Hey neat freak!" "The

HAND." Vanilla whimpered and made a shriek when she stuck her small clean hand in the older

girls hand their palms met and they shook Vanilla shut her eyes in total revolt as the

weird sticky goo engulfed her small hand and around her fingertips Vanellope watched

hysterically she noticed Vanilla was trying not to lose her composure "Ew, ew, ew, eww!"

"Alright." Vanellope handed her a clean napkin and Vanilla frantically wiped her hand off

"Ewwy eww eww gross gross gross!" Vanellope grabbed her young companion and noogies her.

"Now come on, I've been waiting to show ya something shortstuff." Vanellope and Vanilla got

back in her race-car sped off to the opening of Sugar Rush, Vanellope held out her hand now

that Vanellope's glitching was part of her code she could pass in and out of Sugar Rush.

"You ready?" Vanilla took her hand and worried about her glitching too "Scardy-cat come

on." Vanellope smiled they walked through the entrance with a shimmer of light Vanilla shut

her eyes and opened them she had made it out? She looked down at herself a pink aura came

glistening over her body then it went back to normal Vanellope stared at her. "Wow cool

light affects, trippy I didn't know you could do that Squirt." "Very cool, come on!"

Vanilla looked at her hands ("What was that all about?") she wonders. She walked with

Vanellope into a busy place she had never seen in her life there were video game characters

of all kinds all over the place her bright hazel eyes darted side to side over the

countless figures to her it was so big. Vanellope squeezed her hand affectionately "Stay

close to me and don't let go of'my hand alright?" The small girl gave a nod with a small

smile, Vanellope smiled back at her it was as if she finally had someone who trusted her

and didn't want to ditch her. They approached a big entrance written Fix it Felix Jr. They

were stopped as usual by the pesky security guard he zapped out of thin air Vanilla gasped

and hid once again behind Vanellope's back. The older racer sympathized she yelled at the

authority figure in front of them "Hey!" "I got a newbie here don't zap up right in

fron'a'her you're scaring her Surge!" Surge looked at Vanellope in a emotionless face "I

do not see anyone, name?" Vanellope groaned pulling Vanilla forward in front of her "Yer

blind." Surge raised an eyebrow. "Name?" he said once more The adorable winner shifted her

eyes to the side. "Surge!" "It's me President Vanellope von Schweetz." Surge scribbled

something down he took one moment to kneel down to shy Vanilla. "Name?" He demanded at the

child. Vanilla nervously stutters "V-Vanilla." Surge looked over his notebook "Hmm… I don't

see your… Instantly Vanellope addressed the situation "She's with me, the president

overrides. "We are coming from Sugar Rush and heading to Fix it Felix Jr." He scribbled

around on his book again "Anything to declare President?" Vanellope smiled "I hate you."

Surge smiled at the girl "Your just like the big guy proceed." He disappeared Vanilla

looked back to the spot he was once in but her older guardian yanked her forward "Just

ignore that guy he's a dork, and a nuisance." Her big eyes grew wide "Was he a policeman?"

Vanellope chuckled "Uh no." "Keep up I wanna show you someone special ta me." Vanilla

thought it over "Oh I'm a… not very good with other people I don'.. She was interrupted

with Vanellope giving her a big smile "I know yer shy but you'll really like this guy I

promise." She pulled her forward "Race ya to the big red building!" Shouted Vanellope making Vanilla laugh "Oh I

don't think so!" "Hey you got a head start!" Vanellope ran ahead "Give It up I was built

for speed!" that's when Vanilla kicked it into high gear she attempted to glitch but she

felt it was too much like cheating Vanellope noticed laughing at her "hahaha-You and your

guilty conscience!" Then her eyes couldn't believe it Vanilla was right on her tail "Say

Squirt you're kinda fast there." She let up running very fast she felt her heart overflow

with the conception she had someone who wanted to do what she did. Vanilla passed her and

kept on running Vanellope watched her run with a pride and love in her eyes Vanilla

reflected through them she was so small yet so powerful Vanellope thought she was a

beautiful sight to watch over she finally took off full speed but Vanilla touched the

building with merriment "hehehe!" "I won!" Vanellope shrugged over "Beginners luck." She

pretended not to be impressed Vanilla playfully punched at her stomach "Oh right sure!" she

snickers at the little girl "Not uh I was just pretending for your sake." Across from them

the lovable giant bad guy everyone knew and loved opened the door to his shack "Vanellope!"

He opened up his arms and ran to her "RALPH!" Shouts Vanellope jumping into his arms in

excitement! "My man!" "Still picking the dirt out of your toes?" Ralph held her upside down

and they both laughed "Hahaha!" "Come 'mere you!" Vanellope giggled with him and when he

finished holding her upside down she wrapped her arms around him in a sweet hug then she

remembered why she came. Ralph spoke "Boy It's great to see you kid, what are you doing

here?" "Can't a gal visit her monster under her bed every once and a while?" Vanellope

stated Ralph smirked rolling his eyes then noticed an even smaller girl shook with fear

obviously Vanellope knew the man but he was so colossal Vanilla didn't know whether to run

or stay. The tiny President saw the fear evaporating from Vanilla's eyes so she held her

hand in a stopping position "Don't run Squirt stay calm be cool!" Ralph set Vanellope down

confused "Squirt?" He mutters "Yeah Ralphly "Say hello to my new friend, well kid sister

really." Ralph looked the small girl over "So, you finally found a friend?" Vanellope

coughed through her sleeve "Acha more than that!" she cleared her throat "Oh I see, kid."

He said in a teasing voice poking Vanellope in her side she swatted his hand away "Now

you've finally found something precious and you are not gonna even admit it?" "That's low

Squirt." Vanilla's eyes barged open "No Squirt, Ralph I'm not a squirt that's what I call

her." He looked at Vanellope with curiosity "Then what is her name?" Vanellope pushed her

forward "Ralph say hello to Vanilla von Schweetz." "Be-nice-she's-kinda-shy!" Vanellope

whispered very fast. Ralph held out his hand gently out to her "Hello Vanilla, I'm

Vanellope's best friend Wreck it Ralph, you can call me Ralph, or Stinkbrain as Vanellope

calls me." "You know she's kinda like my sister too." "You can trust me." He smiled "I'm a \
bad guy but I'm not gonna hurt you." Vanellope made somewhat of a spitting noise giggle

"He's as soft as cookie dough without the chips." He frowns giving her a playful warning

"Hey watch it!" Ralph smiled as he greeted her; Vanilla put her minuscule hand on his

fingers hers were like the size of an ant to Ralph's "Nice to meet you Mr. Wreck it."

Vanilla spoke quietly Ralph spoke in a joking manner "Oh fooph forget about the Mr. plain

Ralph'll do." Vanilla smiled up at him "Hello Uncle Ralph." Ralph's eyes shone with rapture

making Vanellope's mouth drop "Squirt you know you can call him any name ya want "Nothing

insulting you got?" Vanilla's eyes shined with cheer "Nope he's just gonna be my good ole

uncle." Ralph felt touched to be considered someone of that stature he smiled with

satisfaction when Vanellope started hitting her head against the wall in frustration. "Well

that's mighty sweet of you Vanilla." Ralph spoke fatherly to her. Vanellope picked up

Vanilla and put her on her shoulder's "Squirt you should listen to the President, I

found'ya first." Fix it Felix and Calhoun's voices came across the way "Jiminy Jamaney is

that Sugar I smell?" Felix replied with mirth "I hear a pint sized head ache just waiting

to happen." Calhoun smirked "Fix it!" "Serge!" shouted Vanellope "my policy!" just then

without warning Calhoun took out her gun "Don't move Vanellope there's a parasite on your

back!" Vanellope's eyebrow raised then exasperated "NO!" "Do not shoot!" "She's a friend!"

Vanilla ducked her head gripping Vanellope's ears "Oww!" "Vaaanilla!" Vanellope complained

at the small girl painfully, the powerful lady did away with her weapon "State your

business suspicious character?" Vanilla shook "I'm new around." "She's Vanilla." Vanellope

spoke for her removing Vanilla's hands from her now sore ears growling up at her Vanilla

just smiled in sorry. Fix it Felix came jumping over to her "Well I'll be dipped your first

friend to pal around with Vanellope!" "Aww look at her ain't she a little cupcake?" "Hehe-

hahaha, I like you sir." Vanilla blushed out of all the names people called her. "You may

call me Felix, Ralph there is my brother aren't you Ralph." Ralph rubbed his neck "Uh well

uh." "I guess." Felix turned back to her "Also you don't, there's really no need to call me

sir." Vanilla beamed "Okie Dokie, Uncle Felix Vanellope sighed burying her face "Uuuuah."

Serge approached the two "Sorry for almost blowing your brains out cadet." she said to

Vanellope "I thought you're little rookie there was a danger you can never be too careful

and code/ are you sure she's not a double agent?" Vanellope shook her head "No, negative to

that Serge all clear on my stature." The women plastered a weak smile on her face "How do

you do?" Vanilla hid her face a little "I'm a little scared mam'e." The crew looked at

each other worried, instead Vanellope put her down "Now Squirt here's your chance meet your

new family." Vanellope pushed her forward gently nudging her to them Vanellope smiled

watching Vanilla converse with her friends. At the mention of the word "Family" Vanilla's

heart overflowed with joy she couldn't possibly comprehend she had this longing hope that

somehow perhaps with this family things were going to be different better.
