The couple fell for what felt like forever before landing hard on a planet's surface. The pain of her injuries far too much to bear forces Amaliya into unconsciousness and Loki held her tight as if some force was trying to tear them apart, shielding her body from the impact of the rocky earth with his own. The jolt woke Liya, the pain from her midsection flaring anew sending painful moans and hisses flying from her mouth. The cloud of dust starting to settle around them stuck their flesh and sated their wounds, the fresh sting bringing tears to her eyes.

Loki helped her to a sitting position with a grimace and tried to think of something to say but no words came to the Trickster, just an empty silence where words of comfort should be. Liya lifted the gauzy tunic she was wearing to reveal her bandages stretched and torn from the fall were stuck to her skin and stained a reddish orange color. The God of Mischief's expression held nothing but sorrow and regret, and she knew he blamed himself for their outcome.

"No," Liya rapsed strain and hurt colored her voice as she tried to push herself up to support herself on a large rock, "Loki," she hissed in pain once more and the Trickster rushed to her side helping her rest against the boulder.

He looked at her in this fragile condition and swore, "I will not let you forgive me for this," his voice was raw and choked with emotion. Loki dropped his head shaking it slightly, "I am the cause of this," he motioned to the abandoned planet they were on, "and this," his voice got deathly quiet as he ever so gently touched her stomach.

Liya looked at her fiancé as he gazed at her injuries. The princess said nothing; she didn't know what to say to him. She stroked his hair lightly trying not to move too much. Loki looked up at Amaliya and she cradled his face in her hand. A smiled struggled to form across Liya's face, "I love you," she whispered.

Tears fell from Loki's eyes at her words, after all that he had done…she still loved him. It didn't seem that anything could tear them apart. He was about to respond when thundering footsteps approaching. Loki put his hand over Liya's mouth and motioned for her silence as he pushed her legs into her chest, tears streamed down the princess face but she kept quiet eyes glazing over from the pain. The Trickster folded himself impossibly close to her hoping to shield them from sight, but it was too late.

"What have we here," the behemoth said with an evil grin towering over the boulder as the couple hid.
