Andromeda looked around the extravagant room. There was only one other escort there that night. The others were all out on jobs.
Andromeda sighed and closed her eyes, leaning against the plush loveseat. The sound of the tap-tap-tapping of heels came to Andromeda's ears, and she quickly sat up, straightening her spine to look as proper as possible. Just in case a client was with the Madam.
She plastered on her best demure smile and blinked rapidly. Her clients always loved her coquettish look. They called her impish, and it drove them wild.
Most people in her position might be bitter. After all, she went from a daughter in a prominent family that had all the money and material things she could ever want to being an escort that had to scrounge and save every dime just to make sure she had enough to eat every day.
But Andromeda wasn't bitter. It was her decision to leave. It was her decision to run away from the fancy dresses and jewels as big as her fist. She ran away from a family that never loved her the way she wanted to be loved.
Maybe her life was harder now, but at least it was her own life. She only had to live for herself and no one else. And maybe she'd be allowed to fall in love with whoever she wanted instead of living in a house that might as well have been a dictatorship.
Her life wasn't roses now, but at least she could be herself. And she wouldn't be an escort forever; it was temporary.
A man followed the madam, his stride much longer than the woman's.
Andromeda narrowed her eyes. This man screamed money. He also was extremely handsome. It made her wonder why he was bothering with an escort when he probably had his pick of women. The man probably had something to hide.
"Hello," the man's deep voice rumbled.
Andromeda involuntarily shivered. "Hello." She batted her eyelashes the way men liked and smiled flirtatiously.
"Don't play that act with me. I see who you really are," the man murmured.
Andromeda stood up and looked at him with a careful gaze. "Really? And who am I?"
"A strong, independent woman who does what she has to do in order to survive. Even if it means playing a weak-minded female."
She didn't deny his accusation. Instead, she asked her own question. "And who are you, Sir?"
The man smirked even while the Madam looked at Andromeda with fierce anger at the way she talked to a client. "Lucius Malfoy, a man who loves women that aren't what they seem."
Andromeda narrowed her eyes. She knew the name. She recognized the name from her family's crowd. What was Lucius Malfoy here for?
"And," Lucius Malfoy continued to smirk, "I'm here to buy you for the night."
Andromeda swallowed. For the first time, she felt uneasy in her predicament. She couldn't say no. The madam wouldn't allow it. But what did Lucius Malfoy have in store for her?
