Chapter 14 – Ace

It was just another day were things are uneventful. In other words…

B-O-R-I-N-G

And then there's the call he received from Marco the other day. Thatch made full recovery and they wanted him to return as soon as possible. Not that he can avoid their call altogether. He already has this lead about the whereabouts of that fucking traitor.

Aside from fulfilling his tasks, he was hoping to see his sister. He knew that she already left days ago from their hometown and was now sailing on these seas to fulfill her own dreams. He could not stop himself but be proud of her accomplishments when he first saw her wanted poster much to the growing annoyance of his ship brothers especially Marco and the rest of the commanders.

And this self appointed task is already taking its tool on him. It was the longest trip he had ever taken sans the boredom.

And did he already mention that it was boring as hell? Perhaps he did.

Today, it was hot. Like always when travelling in these kinds of islands. His sister won't like it here. But maybe a little because the food is really good.

And then he met her. In a very unconventional way. Perhaps he should thank that smoking marine guy. Ace thinks that the said bastard wanted to capture his sister.

As if he'll let him.

And the thought of his precious sister getting the attention from the opposite sex really does scare him. Makes him want to burn their souls into oblivion.

Just like before, she tends to act recklessly before thinking. He and Sabo knew that she can be smart if she wanted to but…

"Waaah! Ace! You're here! I'm sooo happpyyyy!" The Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates felt his heart warm at those words. With a very wide smile, he hugged his sister. "Ugh! Can't breathe!"

"Ah. Sorry about that. I just missed you, ya know," In response worthy of the long wait, Luffy smiled happily at him.

"I missed you too."

Now if only Ace can quench the feeling of foreboding growing inside his gut when he met her crew.

Very suspicious indeed.

And as he looks up, he saw the darkening look of this green haired monstrosity before he was introduced properly.

Raising one questioning look towards the guy, the swordsman blushes with a huff and left them on their own.

But then his sister looks at the bastard directly and Ace recognizes that affection he thought was specifically reserved for him and Sabo and probably that red haired Yonko.

Right there and then, he decided to keep an eye on her crew especially him.

Blackbeard be damned, but he will not let anyone taint his beloved little sister. Sabo will squirm in his grave if he lets anyone devour their little pirate without their or rather his approval.

Somewhere in the sandy terrains of Baltigo…

A certain blonde haired Revolutionary sneezes out loud scattering a few documents away from his desk and took the hanky his ever reliable partner hands over.

Must be a cold or something and decided to take that day easy albeit questioningly for the uneasiness he suddenly feels inside.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the other part of the New World…

Ben wonders why his Captain is looking forlornly at Luffy's wanted poster. Beside it is the other bounty of her crewmate; a certain Pirate Hunter named Roronoa Zoro. The boy looks strong and pleasing to the eyes according to the women from the pub they went into last night. One of the customers even saw the events happened in Loguetown and told them how the said swordsman glomps at the female pirate like a protective lover.

Ah.

Probably that must be the reason Shanks is all dark and gloomy.

Worried for his cute little anchor, perhaps?

Heh.

Typical. He can't wait to tell Makino this certain development. He did made a promise to tell the woman the antics their Captain will encounter as Luffy starts her adventure.

"She's growing up to fast, damn it Ben. What should we do?" Shanks wailed desperately surprising everyone in the five mile radius.

After a few last minute instructions, Ace left with a very heavy heart. But knowing that his sister is in great and more than capable hands, eases a bit of discomfort he felt.

Maybe her innocence will remain intact till he accomplishes his mission so that he can ensure her safety by his very own hands.

That's right.

He really thinks that Oyaji will like her too.

Yes. With his next plan set in motion, everything is perfect.

Time to hunt that bastard and be done with it.
