Chapter 15 - Robin
Her dream is simple.
To discover and understand the lost history of the world.
Yet… it was the world itself that prevents her from reaching her dream.
Allying herself with a warlord may have given her enough time to think of an alternative way to attain her goal. To survive. Or just to prolong her existence until she find out what she's been looking for.
To understand the real reason why her home was destroyed. The real reason why everyone in the island… the scholars who took her in and her mother… were killed unjustly.
A secret that the world wanted to keep hidden from everyone.
And when she find a poneglyph in Alabasta and read its message, she was devastated.
It was all for nothing.
Feeling the weight of her life, her continued existence… she broke down.
Ready to take her life and end her misery - all she need to do is plunge the blade into her chest and be done with it.
But someone stopped her.
It was the girl wearing the red vest and a straw hat. Her eyes looks determined. Unyielding even in the face of Crocodile's mad attempt to conquer the desert kingdom. Throwing her blade away, she took her hand and made a promise.
"I don't know what you are looking for… but I will not allow you to throw your life away because you didn't find whatever that is here in Arabasta." Ignoring the king's feeble attempt to correct his kingdom's butchered name. Wiping her tears away, the girl places her cowboy hat back over her head and smiled. "I will help you find whatever that 'thing' is. So please don't give up now, okay?"
Carrying both of them over her small frame, ignoring the wounds and poison she received from her earlier fight, the girl led them outside the crumbling mausoleum and asks permission from the king to keep her hidden.
To keep her safe.
And then she passed out with a contented smile on her face.
"What a remarkable young woman…" King Cobra muses.
Silently she agrees as she administered the antidote to the fallen warlord's poison.
Yes. Robin thinks to herself.
Monkey D. Luffy. She's one of a…
Oh.
She got the same name as that person. Was it a coincidence?
How very interesting. Seems like she has another puzzle to solve. Fufufu.
