This can't be happening

Chapter 4

Elena's POV

"Stefan" I breathed out.

"I heard what happened and I had to come see if you are okay" he told me

"You had to see if I was okay. Why do you care now?" I screamed at him.

"Elena, I had to leave it was the only way"

"I don't want to hear it Stefan. I would rather you be dead then being this version of yourself." I said coldly. Then suddenly I was thrown against the wall.

"Listen, you don't understand what is going on! So, don't go running about things you don't understand" He yelled at me.

"What the hell Stefan! Leave, leave and never come back. I never want to see you again" I spat at him.

"Fine" he huffed before disappearing. Then Caroline came running over to me to see if I was okay.

"I'm fine" I told her. Then she helped me up off the floor and over to a chair where I just started sobbing. After a few minutes of Caroline comforting me while I was crying a nurse came out and told us that Bonnie was awake and asking for us. But only two of us could go in at once and Caroline told me and Jeremy to go first in all my crying I hadn't even noticed he walked over to us. So I calmed myself down and followed Jeremy down the hallway to Bonnie's room. When we got to her room I immediately wanted to cry again she just looked so small and helpless laying in the hospital bed.

"Hey guys is everything alright?" Bonnie asked.

"Nothing's wrong. How are you feeling?"

"Elena, don't lie to me. What's wrong?" she questioned

"Stefan was here, we argued, and I told to leave and not come back because I never want to see him again. Then he got really angry and threw me against the wall." I explained.

"Oh my Elena. Are you okay?"

"Honestly no but I will be" I told her and I could feel myself getting upset again so I told Bonnie and Jeremy I was going to get Caroline and tell her she can come back and head home. I went to the waiting room and got Care and as soon as she walked away I broke down again. Then I felt someone pick me up and start to carry me out of the hospital. Not sure of who it was I looked up and saw Damon.

"Damon I'm fine. I can walk fine. Please put me down" I told him and he put me back down on my feet but wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me to face him.

"Caroline told me Stefan was here did he hurt you?"

"I'm fine" I said turning around and Damon put his hand on my shoulder to me around to face him again and I winced in pain from when Stefan threw me against the wall.

"What did he do to you Elena?" he questioned.

"Damon, I'm fine" I told him hoping he would buy it but it didn't work.

"You're not fine. You're hurt, what did he do to you?" he questioned staring at me intensely.

I sighed and then told him that Stefan had threw me against a wall.

"He what!" Damon seethed. "Is he still here?"

"No he left right after I told him to leave and to never come back" I explained.

"I'm sorry Elena" he said and pulled me into a hug which made me wince in pain again.

"Come on, I'm taking you home." Then he took me back to my house so I could get some clothes then we drove to his house because he didn't want to be alone and Jeremy was staying at the hospital with Bonnie. When we got there I went upstairs to one of the many rooms and laid down. A few minutes later Caroline came in the room with some pain medicine.

"Hey Jer said you would be here. I came to check and see how you were and Damon said you were in some pain" she said handing me the medicine.

"Thank you"

"You're welcome now get some rest"

"Care, could you stay? Please I don't really want to be alone right now"

"Yeah of course scoot over" she said and I moved over and she crawled under the covers with me and I started to drift off to sleep.

At Damon's house

Damon's POV

"Hello brother"

"What are you doing here Stefan? Why did you hurt Elena? I thought you cared about her at least or are you really that far gone?" I spat.

"What I didn't mean to hurt her. Is she okay?"

"I don't know. She says she is fine but I can tell she is in pain. Pain that was caused by you"

"I honestly never meant to hurt her" Stefan said

"Then why did you throw her against a wall!" I yelled at him. Then I heard someone coming down the stairs and hoped it was Caroline and not Elena.

"Hey, Damon…." Elena said cutting her sentence short when she saw Stefan standing there.

"What are you doing here?" She questioned venomously.

"Elena, I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I love you."

"That's a load of crap Stefan. You don't even know what love is anymore. You've done nothing but hurt me lately and if you did really love me you wouldn't do this" She told him and I don't think I've ever seen her this angry.

"Elena, I said I'm sorry and I really mean it"

"I don't care Stefan. Sorry just isn't enough anymore" "Damon call me when he leaves because I can't even stand to be in the same room as him anymore" Elena said as she walked out of the house and got into Caroline's car and they drove away.

"Stefan you need to leave before Klaus comes back here and finds out that Elena is very much alive" I told him. He just nodded then turned around and left. As soon as I knew that he was really gone I picked the phone and called Elena.

"Is he gone now?" She asked me when she answered the phone.

"Yeah, he left a few minutes ago. So you can come back now if you want to"

"I will probably be back over in an hour. I'm at the hospital right now visiting Bonnie"

"How is she doing?"

"She's actually doing a lot better they are talking about letting her come home next Monday"

"That's good. I'm glad she is doing better. Well take your time there and fun"

"Okay, bye see you soon" she said then hung up.

So this is the end of chapter 4 I hoped you liked it next chapter I will be doing a time jump to 3 years it is still going to be behind a couple of seasons a loosely follow the show I hope you will like it I will explain more of what is going on when I do the time jump in the next chapter.
