Chapter 5

3 years later

Elena's POV

Stefan never came back since that day at the boarding house, and honestly I hope he never does. Me and Damon are together now and we have been for the last two years. Jeremy still sees Vikki and Anna but it rarely happens anymore. There has also been quite a few more surprises.

"Care, come on hurry up we are going to be late!" I yelled

"I'm coming" Caroline said coming up next to me. "So what do you think?" she asked.

"You mean what do I think of Bonnie and Jeremy getting married today? I think it's pretty cool and I'm happy for them"

"I know it's so exciting we all have someone. Bonnie and Jeremy are getting married today, I'm engaged to Tyler, and you and Damon are dating" she voiced.

"Yeah who would have thought a vampire and werewolf would ever get together" she just laughed in agreement. "Well we better get going. Bonnie is probably a nervous wreck right now." With that we were off and headed towards the church.

At The church (Elena's POV)

"Caroline, Elena is that you?" Bonnie asked when we started to enter the room.

"Yeah, we are here don't worry" I told her.

"Bonnie sit down and let me fix your hair" Caroline said as she leads Bonnie over to a chair for her to sit.

"I'm going to go check on the guys and see how they are doing" I told them as I walked out of the room and down the hall to where the guys were supposed to be getting ready and knocked on the door to let them know I was coming in. "Hey do you guys need any help?" I asked once I was inside.

"Yeah, can you tie my tie for me? I'm horrible at it." Jeremy replied. I walked over and fixed his tie and I noticed that Tyler and Matt weren't in the room like they were supposed to be.

"Jer, where is Matt and Tyler?" I asked him.

"They are outside arguing about something I don't know" He informed.

"I'll be right back" I left the room and went outside to find Matt and Tyler arguing and shoving each other. "What in the world are you two doing! This is not the time or the place for this so put smiles on your faces, stop acting like cave men, and get back inside and get ready for your friend's wedding" I yelled at them. They just nodded and silently went back inside to get ready.

"What was that about?" Damon asked coming up behind me and startling me.

"Dang it Damon don't do that. You know I hate it" He just smirked at me and put his hands up in a surrender motion.

"I came here to tell you something, but you aren't going to like it" he voiced

"What is it this time?" I asked with a sigh.

"Stefan is back. He said he needs the necklace he gave with vervain in it. It's apparently supposed to help them make hybrids without you having to be dead." I reached up to take my necklace off to hand to him so he could give it to Stefan but he stopped me shaking his head. "He said that you have to give it to him yourself. After the wedding." He sighed

"Fine, but I can't promise that I will be nice" I sassed

"Oh, before I forget he has a girl with him and they appear to be together" He added. I just nodded and walked over to him and kissed him goodbye then walked back inside to get ready.

4 Hours later

Damon's' house

Elena's POV

After the wedding I got in my car and drove straight to Damon's house. I walked in the front door and saw Stefan and some gorgeous blonde sitting in the living room. I walked over to him and handed him the necklace. Then I went upstairs to the bathroom and changed into a pair of sweats that I kept there and went back down to the living room.

"How was the wedding?" Damon asked me.

"It was really good I wish you would have stayed with me"

"Eh, weddings aren't really my thing and we all know I'm not really your brother's favorite person. I was there long enough to show my support for Bon- Bon. But I will definitely be there for Vampire Barbie's because we all know that will be interesting" he finished with a laugh.

"Caroline is getting married? To who?" Stefan asked looking at me. Luckily Damon answered for me.

"Yeah. She is getting married to Tyler Lockwood"

"I think that I was asking Elena not you" Stefan spat.

"Well I think the fact that she didn't answer you should tell you that she doesn't want to talk to you" Damon said venomously.

"Hey guys stop and you" the blonde girl said pointing to me "look very familiar"

"Uh, I don't know who you are" I answered.

"My name is Rebekah Mikaelson. I'm an original" She said shocking both me and Damon.

"Are you serious Stefan? You brought Klaus's sister? Do you want Elena to die?" Damon yelled getting closer to Stefan with every word. This is not going to end well I thought to myself.

"Wait, what's going on? Oh my God! You're the doppelgänger" she said stunned.

"Yeah, that's me are you going to kill me now? Or are you going to have your brother do it?" I asked coldly.

"No, I won't do that because I can tell that Stefan cares about you" She defended.

"Thank you" I told her honestly then walked away.

"Elena can I please talk to you?" Stefan asked following after me.

"Fine, we can talk. But you have two minutes then I'm walking away"

"Okay, I'm sorry for everything. Elena, I was horrible to you and if I could go back and change what I did to you I would. But I can't and I- "

"Nope you're done. Two minutes are over" I said cutting him off and walking away and going back into the living to sit next to Damon.

"So, Rebekah can I ask you why would you not tell your brother about me being alive?" I inquired.

"Because he will be out of control if he is able to make his hybrids. I only stay with him making him think I'm on his side to stay undaggered and alive" She responded.

"So brother how did you meet your girl here?" Damon asked changing the subject.

"I met both Rebekah and Klaus in the 1920's when I first was 'The Ripper'. We were all really good friends, Klaus thought of me as a brother. Then one night there was an attack at the bar we were all hanging out at and Klaus and Rebekah had to run. Klaus compelled me to forget about them until he told me otherwise" He explained.

"Well thanks for that great story but I think you guys should be going now" Damon said.

"Okay, well I'll be outside waiting while you guys talk. Oh and it was nice meeting you Elena. I can see why you had both the Salvatore boys after your heart. But it seems you've already chosen the one you really want" Rebekah said getting up and walking out the door before I could even say anything in response.

"So, I see you have stolen my girlfriend" Stefan spat.

"He didn't steal anything Stefan. In case you don't remember you broke up with me 3 years ago then just disappeared. I moved on and I'm happy now" I informed him. He didn't say anything he just looked at me a little longer then turned around and walked out the door. Who does he think he is coming back like that and saying and doing the things he did. It's not right and it's not fair.

"Elena" Damon said pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Oh, what. I'm sorry"

"Are you okay?" he asked. I just nodded and he put his arm around me and pulled me into a hug and kissed the top of my head.
