This Can't Be happening

Chapter 6

Damon's POV

"Are you sure you are okay?" I asked Elena.

"Honestly I'm not really sure right now" she answered.

"I'm sorry Elena. But don't let my idiot little brother bother you" I hate Stefan for coming here like this and hurting Elena. Why is he really even here in the first place? Well there is no sense in dwelling on it right now. I just went and sat down next to Elena on the couch and put my arm around her.

1 week later (Elena's POV)

'Knock knock'. I sighed and walked down the stairs to see who was at the door. I opened it to reveal Klaus.

"I heard that you were still alive, but don't worry I won't hurt you. As it turns out I actually need you alive" he told me nonchalantly. I just stood there dumbfounded I couldn't believe the words that were coming out of his mouth.

"What do you mean you need me alive? What could you possibly want from me now?" I demanded.

"Your blood. As it would turn out your blood is the only way to make my hybrids. But don't worry your friends won't be harmed this time, only if do as I say will they stay that way." He reasoned.

I don't want to go with him and be his personal blood bag to make his stupid hybrid army, but I don't everyone I care about to get to save myself either. "Fine when do you want to do this?" I asked.

"Now, my dear" he answered. I sighed and went to go leave with him when Damon came in the door.

"What the hell do you think you are doing?" Damon boomed starting to walk closer to Klaus.

"Damon it's fine, I'm fine. You don't need to worry. I will be safe with him okay. Just let me go" I said trying to calm him down.

"Okay, but I'm coming with you" he stated.

"Sorry, but that's just not possible" he told him then reached out and snapped his neck and knocked him out.

"Come on love it's time to go" Klaus said pulling me out of the house. A few minutes later we ended up at the hospital. "Okay they are just going to take your blood. Then you can just leave and get back to your below average life" he told me. A nurse came in and started taking my blood. I just closed my eyes and went to sleep. When I woke up I was still in the hospital and I felt very weak and drowsy. I saw a shadow at the door and looked up to see Damon standing at the door.

"Elena, are you okay?" Damon asked coming closer to me.

"I'm not sure" I answered weakly.

"Do you think you can walk?" he asked while he unplugged me from all the machines.

"Yeah, I think so." I said trying to get up but I wasn't strong enough and I started to fall. Damon just picked me up and carried me out of the room and I could feel myself getting weaker and started falling asleep.

At Damon's house (Damon's Pov)

I finally got Elena back to my house. She was still asleep and looked pale from having lost all the blood that she did. I went and put her in my room where I knew she would be comfortable. I pulled up chair next to the bed and grabbed a book so I could keep watch over her and make sure that she is okay. After about two hours I figured that she would probably be waking up soon so I went downstairs to make her something to eat. In the middle of making dinner I heard Elena come down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"How are you feeling?" I asked her.

"Okay, a little dizzy but other than that I feel fine" "What smells so good?" She asked walking over to where I was so she could see what I was making.

"Food" I answered back smartly. She just shook her head at me muttering something about me being annoying under her breath and rolled her eyes at me then walked into the living room. I finished fixing dinner then took a plate into the living room where Elena was sitting watching tv. "Here, eat it will help you feel better" I told her handing her the plate of food. She started to eat and I just sat down next to her.

"Are you okay, Damon?" she asked quirking up an eyebrow at me.

"I don't know. I could ask you the same question" I responded not really wanting to answer the question. But it came out wrong and I could tell by the look on her face that I had hurt her by what I said.

"Sorry, I obviously shouldn't have asked" she said pushing her food away and getting up and moving towards the door.

"Wait, Elena don't go I'm sorry. I shouldn't have acted like that you were just concerned about me and I acted like a jerk. I'm just really worried about you Elena" I explained. She stared at me for a little but before walking over to me.

"You don't need to worry about me Damon. Klaus won't hurt me because he needs me alive" she muttered.

"What do you mean he needs you alive?" I asked becoming confused.

"He needs my blood if he wants to be able to successfully make his hybrids"

"What then how would he be able to make his hybrids in the first place if you were supposed to die in that stupid sacrifice of his?"

"That was the point. They never wanted him to be able to make his hybrids. So that's why I was supposed to die. I do have to say that is some irony" "I think I should go now"

"You don't have to go"

"I know I don't. But Bonnie and Jeremy are coming home tonight, and they are stopping by the house and I just want to see them." She explained.

"Okay, I guess I'll see you tomorrow"

"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow. I love you" she told me.

"I love you too" I said and leaned forward and kissed her. Then she got in her car and drove house.

At Elena's house

Elena's POV

"Bonnie, Jer, you guys here yet!" I yelled as I walked into the house.

"Yeah we are here!" Bonnie yelled coming out of the kitchen and running to hug me.

"How was the honeymoon?"

"It was really good" Jeremy responded coming into the room and giving me a hug.

"So, did anything happen while we were gone?" Bonnie asked.

"Well Klaus came and he knows I'm alive, but he won't me because he needs my blood for him to be able to make his hybrids. Well this was all just today. Damon rescued me from the hospital that Klaus had me in to get my blood. We got into an argument then I came here and now you are all caught up now." I explained.

"Are you okay?" Jeremy asked.

"Yeah, I'm okay now. My head hurts a little but I think I just need to get something more to eat then get some sleep. But I'm okay."

"What did you and Damon get into an argument about?" Bonnie asked.

"It was stupid honestly. I got upset for nothing but we are okay now."

"Well if you need anything or if you need to talk about it I'm here" she told me.

"So how have you been?" Jer asked.

"I've actually been pretty good despite everything that happened today. Which if I'm being honest was kind of scary and I'm really glad that Damon was there. But other than all that everything has been good. I've been good." I said.
