I saw Kushal locked at gunpoint with one of the other hijackers. These guys were no amateurs. Perhaps, they were ex-military.

"You would have never succeeded," the woman's voice was directed at me from atop one of the convoy trucks.

The nerve of her!

I prepared to address her with the Emperor's Eye.

"You seem to be the leader of this group. Let's see eye to eye."

She smiled derisively and jumped down, "Of course."

Her attire didn't look like the Debritten Knight Corp outfit, but I wasn't keeping tabs on them. When she leapt down, I looked her in the eyes, "Hand over the Debritten Equipment and leave the city!"

"Oh, I didn't think that an occult would be so inept," she answered.

The Emperor's Eyes had no effect. This woman was like Akamatsu, "So, you're in league with Akamatsu."

"He has nothing to do with this, but otherwise this is good. We're fighting the same fight against Debritten, Let's talk more in my base. Tell your friends to drop their weapons," the woman spoke.

" Kushal, we're in negotiation. Tell our guys to stand down."

Kushal looked at me then lowered his gun and took out his communicator.

"You can call me Miuka," She walked over to the side of the bridge. "We'll be descending from there. Naturally we are taking possession of the Debritten equipment. We'll talk more on board," she concluded the conversation.

Kushal and I made our way to the side of the bridge. There was a rope ladder tied to one of the bridge's steel members. It led down into the foggy river. After half an hour, having a bit of trouble climbing down, I felt a solid surface. We were on a submarine.

"This way," came a woman's voice. She had us enter through a hatch and had us follow her to a steel door. Opening it, I saw Miuka was inside already.

"Thank you, Touka," Miuka spoke. "I think I can handle it from here."

"Kushal, take care of operations outside and disband our men for now. I'll handle this."

Muttering to herself Miuka spoke, "The second person today… It must be a sign." To me, "You must have questions..."

"Call me Void. For starters, you mentioned occult, so you must have an occult vision."

"Yes, occult vision allows us to negate each other's abilities," she responded.

"That would explain my inability to affect Akamatsu," I realized.

"That is probably the situation," Miuka started. "So, you must be curious to know what my eyes allow me to do."

"No, there's no need to divulge our abilities to one another," I answered.

"That's unfortunate. I was hoping to be on equal footing since I have a good idea of what your eyes do."

"Go ahead."

"Those followers you have are under your eye's command."

"Believe what you want."

"Naturally, so, let's go over how we're going to work together," She said with a smirk. "So Mr. Void, you probably had no idea what the cargo was. The visors in this shipment allow the wearer to control Automata, which are weaponized robots. Debritten would use these as bargaining chips to aid mercenaries against his rivals overseas. That's why I'm working with a group called the Gray Guards, a force that is competing against Debritten."

"That makes sense, but you can't know that unless you are from the future. So, you've come back to this time to prevent Debritten from succeeding."

"You guessed right. In the future, there was perpetual war with private military companies supplying technology to different factions worldwide. Debritten succeeded in ousting his rivals and effectively became the most powerful man in the world."

I responded affirmatively, "That makes sense. Okay, I'm ready to help you, now give me the details of what happens next."
