AuNotes: Sup everyone thank you for reading another chapter. I've read your guys comment about me having to clean the grammar and writing a bit and I will work on that so that I can get better. Anyway let's continue

Speaking: "Hi"

Thoughts: 'Hi'

Powers: {Hi}

Corvo had to put some well needed distance between him, and the Waterfront after spying on the White Fang before something broke out causing him to be almost hit by that metal monster or the Atlas Paladin as they called it. He still preferred metal monster after seeing it crash through a wall with no problems at all, even Tall Boys weren't capable of what he saw. That thing was a weapon of war there was no way it was for anything else. But the main thought was the plans of the White Fang 'Murder the Human's' that's what the top hat man said meaning a possible street war with everyone involved even civilians, and everyone blood was to be spilled by the sound of it.

'Just where the hell did you send me, Outsider !' Corvo thought darkly before shaking his head he had more important things than that bastard. As it seems most likely he wasn't the only one spying on that little meeting seeing two people run past him just before the monster charged towards him giving chase making him wonder who they could have been. Maybe a rival gang? Seeing the enemy plans before acting out? It was a theory at best.

It was really late now after his investigations as he felt a bit tired after tonight's activities. 'And still no place to sleep' he thought guessing it was the rooftops again tonight already he could feel his future back pains after sleeping on the hard roof tops. He was still in lower Vale so maybe he could find a nice quiet place to rest and... a **growl** His stomach reminded him that he's morning snack was not enough to settle his hunger. 'Back to the market for food in the morning' he thought. It was going to be a long night.

(Time skip: Morning)

*POP*

That was the sound of Corvo back still having a little pain after his roof time bed last night. Currently he was walking around the busy part of town once again trying to scrounge something up for himself. He really needed money if he was going to survive here, but all he had was gold pieces from his world, about three hundred give or take. 'Maybe I can sell them. They are made of gold after all or maybe at least trade them' Corvo thought he needed to buy food and maybe some new clothing having been in the same clothes for a little while now best to do it now before they began to smell.

'Or maybe get something for this' pulling out the strange device he stole a while ago he hasn't been able to do anything with it. Thought about just getting rid of the thing, but it seemed like a waste or maybe he could... shit he was at a loss of what to do. Having been here three days now and it wasn't simple to pick up an entire new life, and he's seen more crazier things here than half his life back home.

Maybe things were starting to get to him or he was just hungry, so Corvo took the time to find a shop that would be able to take his gold, having to ask around to the locals. This took a little while, but later he found out about a place called The Lucky Pawn on the edge of the business district, and made his journey towards that side of town asking directions as he continued. He made sure he wasn't lost even asking some Faunus on his way, even if he still didn't know if they could be trusted after the kill all the human thing hoping it was just a bad bunch. It didn't take too much time before he found the shop. It was a one story green building with its own sign spelling out Lucky Pawn followed by a dart board as a logo.

'Seems right' Corvo thought, making his way towards the building before checking around to see people just going about their day. Ever since last night he was watching his back more, feeling as if he was being followed even if it was most likely nothing, but he couldn't shake the feeling. Still Corvo continued inside the shop as a small bell rang as he walked through the doorway. Getting a look around the place was nearly a junk pile with random item stacks in different places with no purpose. Causing Corvo to rethink this place before an old voice called out.

"I'll be right there just a moment!" a man's voice called out.

Guess I'll just see what he has to offer if I am already here, but if this turns into nonsense he was leaving. Then a short and frail old man looking to be about four feet nine inches made his way around a pile of junk wearing black slacks and white dress shirt. He greeted Corvo. "Hello young man, how may I help you".

Corvo took a moment looking over the man, it was a habit "Yes I hear that you are quite the tradesman and, I've come for business." The man gives a tooth smile revealing a gold tooth that seems to actually have shine to it "Well then my boy you come to the right place!" sticking his hand forward " Name's Joel."

Corvo took the man's hand and said, "It's a pleasure."

"Come to my desk and let me see what I can do for you" Joel gestured for Corvo to follow as he slowly walked away. Corvo looked around at the many piles of junk for a bit before thinking 'There's a desk in here?' Before following the old man as he seemed to navigate around without a problem coming to a small open space with one desk and two chairs set up with Joel taking one of them and gesturing for Corvo to take the other witch he did.

"Now then what do you have for me today? " Joel started but Corvo needed to go though this carefully didn't need to be screwed over by showing all his gold. "I'm new to Vale, only been here a few days and it has not been an easy endeavor so I'm in need of funds." Corvo said

"Oh welcome to Vale than my boy where you from?" Joel questioned making Corvo think for a moment before answering thinking to the book he looked over from Tukson "A island off the coast Vale" Corvo slyly answered by making Joel whistle.

"You've traveled far haven't you? I can see why you need the money, getting here must've cost a bit" before Joel waved his hand "Sorry just an old man's curiosity. What did I want to trade then?".

"Well, do you take anything gold?" Corvo asked

"Of course rings, necklace, bracelets as long as it is worth something " Joel listed "I can spin anything for a bit of profit." Corvo reach into his coat pulling out a coin sliding it across the desk towards the man, Joel pick it up, and moved it closer to his eye to get a better look at it, and Corvo could of sworn that the old man's eyes glowed for a second as he stared at the coin 'What the hell?'.

"This pure gold" Joel said, cutting Corvo's thoughts "Where did you come by such a thing? I can't even tell where it's from, and I've always had a good eye". Joel curiously looked back to Corvo who again thought of something quick "Bit of a story you see found a few coins off the shores of my home island curious little things caught my attention so I gathered them up. Didn't think much of them at the time, just a nice find on the beach before I got them to look over".

"Annnd?" Joel continued.

"It was a chance to make my way off that island" Corvo lied "So use the money to get here, but I still need more to finally be set."

"Hmmm" Joel hummed "As well as that sounds I can't believe the story, but not a bad story young man." Corvo faces unchanged by Joel's words not going unnoticed by the man himself "Keeping it straight huh? I can respect that, but no worries friend doesn't matter all too much to me".

"It doesn't?" Corvo answered still suspicions of the man now running options though his mind. But Joel didn't even care too much "Did you kill someone for it?" Corvo shook his head no as again the old man's eye did a quick flash "Then I don't care. Every man has to play close to the chest from time to time and don't see much of a difference in you."Joel spoke a bit of wisdom in his words. "Now I'm still willing to trade if you are ''.

"Yes I still do" Corvo replied, getting Joel to give a gold tooth smile.

Both men had been speaking for a while as Corvo still didn't fully understand Lien, the currency of the land as it seemed to be a flat plastic card where you'll put a amount into it so that you could pay with it. At first Corvo was pretty sure Joel was trying to screw him over on this, but after a short explanation Corvo got the gist of it, so next thing to discuss was how much would Corvo be getting for the gold. Which Joel replayed depends how much of it he's trading saying he had the cash to pay for it. Getting Corvo to ask who said he had more only for a laugh to be his response, and Joel saying he could just tell.

The man was strange, but Corvo could see that the man had a few tricks up his sleeve.

So 200 coins later (Yes he kept some) he was up 980,530 Lien with a card Joel provided making their transaction done, but Corvo had to mention "Joel your very observant for an old shop owner."

"And you're very armed for an everyday customer" Joel countered back enjoying the look on Corvo's face finally getting a reaction out of the man "Told ya lad I have pretty good eye's."

"That might be pushing it Joel who are you really?" Corvo now wants an answer to how this man could possibly know that. But once again Joel waved him off "I'm just an old retired academy Huntsman, having a bit of fun is all". Corvo eyebrows raised "What never heard of a Huntsman?" Getting a shake of Corvo's head saying no "Lad just where are you from?!"

Corvo thought for a moment "Very far" getting an eye roll for Joel.

"I can see that, but I won't dig into your business. Even if you should know about Huntsman if you come around Vale." Corvo shrugged "Still getting a handle here and I know very little about this city."

"Well then I wish you luck..." Joel realizing he never got his name.

"Corvo it Corvo" feeling as if the old man earned it.

"Corvo huh? Well, do you need anything else before you set off?" Joel asked

"I can think of a somethings"

Corvo made his way out of the Lucky Pawned with a familiar ring as he step out feeling as if he was actually getting somewhere now making the shop one of his favorite places. He had money to live and some other needed goods from the shop such as a new satchel bag clip tightly to his back so it wouldn't move around and leg pouch that was strip around his left leg so he was now able to carry more stuff now, a new book just filled with new information and a new set of clothes that he was now wearing. He had a black long sleeve shirt with a white t-shirt under and a long dark grey trench coat about the same size as his old coat so he could still have his equipment. Also it came with a hood. And lastly a pair of black pants that went with the new outfit.

Having his old clothes in his bag.

That old man really did have everything Corvo didn't think Joel would actually pull out the things he listed even a map of the city for Christ sake. Only paying 25,000 Lien hoping he wasn't ripped off. A sudden Growl of his stomach reminded him of his first plan of getting food and, now that he had money he wondered what options he had in this new world.

Corvo found what was called pizza from a place nearby. At first it was difficult to order something he's never eaten, but he wanted to try something otherworldly and he now knew pizza was his new favorite food.'Wish I could share this' Corvo grimly thought.

Now with a full stomach Corvo felt his mind settled a bit thinking over his current situation after last night. Corvo now wants more information on possible threats that could happen to him, but he'll wait for that till later tonight under the moonlight. He did have a new book to read so finding a private area was what he needed. So it was time for he's rooftop his old friend once again finding them just as useful here as it was back home. With that goal Corvo moved through the shadows of the city making sure to travel a unclear path still having an unsure feeling of being followed, probably just paranoia from his lifestyle of always trying to be a step ahead of his enemy's.

Corvo seat on the roof edge overlooking a small part of the city out of sight of the civilians below enjoying their day out. Closing the book he had been reading for a little while Corvo needed a break after learning this world is not as peaceful as he once thought. Now thinking of Joel's reaction Corvo can see why it seemed insane that he didn't know what type of Hunter he was speaking of for this world had monsters.

Grimm... Real Monsters.

He remembered that word from his other book, but it didn't explain its true meaning. Corvo kind of wish it did. 'Monsters' Corvo thought, thinking over of his new knowledge Grimm soulless beings that seek to destroy humanity. The images the book showed of them were unsettling all black fur, white and red masks that seem to be bone and, most disturbing was the glow in their red eye's making them seem like they were looking right through you. Making Corvo think who the hell are these Hunters who go out of their way to fight these things.

White Fang.

Grimm.

Roman Torchwick.

Plans of a human killing.

The list of things that Corvo had found in he's THREE days here in Vale have been very eye opening to him as he started piecing together an understanding of this world piece by piece, but still not seeing the full image. "God damn it Outsider! You godly bastard" Corvo cursed. The asshole was probably watching him right now.

As mad as Corvo wanted to be this was his choice in the end nothing was going to change that. Letting out a breath Corvo put the book in his bag saving it to read later. But Corvo stops as whispers reach his enhanced ears 'What the...?' way up here there shouldn't be anybody, but him up here but still he could hear voices at least two of them and they were getting closer. Corvo thought for a moment of just falling off the roof, and {BLINK} away from the area probably being the smarter choice but 'If there way up here they most likely came for him in someway or another so even if a little risky maybe seeing who was following him would be worth it'.

Drawing his mask from his coat and raising his hood, Corvo stood up from the roof edge turning around grabbing the halt of his blade from his leg pouch ready to switch it into combat at a moment's notice.

"You sure it's up here?" sounded male to Corvo. They are a lot closer now. Corvo looked around the roof trying to see where they were coming from.

"Yes! Stop asking we can't waste too much time here" Ok that one sounded female and oddly familiar which was strange since he hasn't been here long enough to be familiar with anyone.

"Say's the one who lost her scroll".

'Scroll? What could they...?' But before that thought could finish two people jumped onto the roof across from him. One being a green-haired girl and the other a silver-haired boy... wait he remembered them from the book store why were they here? Both notice he presents, and stare at him in a little shock.

"The hell are we looking at?" Mercury commented before looking over to Emerald "Where your scroll."

Emerald looked over this strange mask man before looking down at Mercury scroll which they had been using to track her scroll down since it still had sensitive data only now being able to go after it when they were done helping Cinder. The red dot on the scroll was unmoving pointing towards this weirdo on the roof so that meant "He must have it, the tracker pointing right to him."

"So what? The guy sold your scroll to this freak?" Mercury questioned.

'Unnecessary' Corvo thought at the insult.

"I don't know!" Emerald pointed towards Corvo "You I don't know what all this is all about with the mask, but you have something that belongs to me and you're going to give it to me!" Her voice boomed, making Corvo tilt his head staring into Emerald eye's. 'Her scroll?' Corvo thought 'Does she mean what I took from her? How the hell is it called a scroll'.

"You heard the lady you Halloween reject" Mercury insulted entering his combat stance.

Now Corvo had a choice he could give back what he took even if she tried to rob him first go about his day and, most likely never seeing these people again, who thought it was right to somehow track him down, and insult and threaten him.

Or...

Corvo reaches into his bag to pull the device that belongs to the girl, her eye's lighting up on sight of her lost scroll. Corvo extended his arm towards the two with the device.

"Well that was easy" Mercury commented as Emerald took a step towards the man to take her scroll back. One of her hands hovering behind her ready to grab her weapons. But what shocked them both was when the mask man casually tossed the scroll behind him and essentially off the roof falling to the ground below, surely breaking it.

Or he could do that Corvo decided to see the look of surprise on both of the brats face's being quite amusing to him 'Ha I needed that'. But it was time for him to make his... {BLINK} quickly teleporting himself to another side of the roof Corvo starred in a bit of anger at the surprised face girl as her green smoking gun pointed at where Corvo just was. 'Did she just try to kill me?!'

Mercury was just as surprised by Emerald actions "Emerald are you crazy in the middle of daylight you start shooting!" This gives them little time before they need to leave the area. Emerald didn't seem to hear him getting over her shock at Corvo moments and narrowed her eyes pulling her second weapon similar to the first one she drew ready to fire at Corvo turning both guns towards him.

'No you don't!' Corvo wasn't going to let her get the chance {BLINKING} behind the girl popping his black steeled blade from it's hilt slashing upwards to her back. But to his surprise she actually reacted quickly rolling forward evading his strike and twisting back to counter striking.

But nothing was there and he disappeared again.

But a click could be heard behind her as Corvo aimed his pistol to the back of her head. 'Gotcha!' Corvo had her, but it had slipped his mind in the moment that there was another that she was with as he felt a hit of what felt like a sledge hammer smashing his face making him fly off from the force and, sliding across the roof surface before rolling to catch his footing.

'Fuck that hurt!' Corvo thought, rubbing his chin to make sure it wasn't broken. Looking up, see the gray boy with his leg still up lifted next to the green hair girl 'That was a kick? What kind of strength was he packing, nearly broke my jaw with that'. Corvo began to stand once again guessing he couldn't take it easy on these brats who seemed ready to kill so it was time to switch it up.

"You know I had that" Emerald complained, looking over to the man as he got back up.

"I think you're looking for the word thank you." He complained, resetting himself to combat taking his stance not taking his eye off the man that could have disappeared in a moment "You kind of jump the gun huh Emerald?"

She wanted to punch him if they didn't have more important issues "Shut up! We just need to finish this quickly and go". Emerald aimed her guns once again "Let's see how he deals with some games."

Corvo had quickly changed tactics grabbing gear within his coat loaded and ready. As both the brats now made their approach 'If things go to wild have to be ready to escape' Corvo thought with the girls gunshots he was guessing they wouldn't go unnoticed. Corvo's grip tightened on his blade ready to end this quickly.

As the two approach they suddenly split into two matching duplicates then two some and another two more making six that were all coming for him all lined up side by side. "What magic?" Corvo whispered not truly believing what he was seeing looking at each clone all of them having a mocking smirk. Not to be looked down upon Corvo tosses three Razor springs in front of him before launching them with a {WINDBLAST} causing them to soar at high speed and activating their mechanism spinning razor wire sharp enough to cut through flesh easily making a wall of sharp death.

Two of the six copies quickly jumped over the oncoming death while the other copies stood there as the wire passed through them causing no damage whatsoever. Going for the two in the air unable to dodge, Corvo in a snap reaction aim and fire a explosive shot dead center at the gray haired one (Most certainly not because he kick him earlier) or it would of been a deadshot if his boots didn't literally shoot something propelling himself out of the bullet path, but also launch himself towards Corvo with a Flying Air kick.

"Oh how the '' Corvo said aloud without thought before {BLINK} out of way as Mercury came crashing down cracking the roof surface.

"Damn he won't stop teleporting" Mercury cursed looking down to where he should have crushed him, but his eyes widened seeing a rapid blink device under him. Already realizing what it was he shot himself forward in time to avoid a bomb explosion as it made hole in the roofing, landing gracefully "Tricky bastard" Mercury said to himself.

'Didn't get him huh' Corvo was not liking this match up seeing the two were far more skilled than he thought 'Might be time to retreat' he's already wasted too much time.

Time... Corvo's mind wanders. 'Or maybe it was time to finish this'.

Looking to both sides Corvo could see that both of them were flanking him. "It's time to finish this" Emerald called out as both her and Mercury both ready to charge and kill him.

'I couldn't agree more' Corvo Void Mark began to glow before focusing on one ability making him burst with power as an onslaught of bullets could be heard. But it didn't matter anymore as it seemed space and time began to come to a crawl as the bullets slowed mid air before coming to a complete stop. But they weren't the only things as both Emerald and Mercury movements both froze along with the world around them. Except one man stands in the gray world of frozen time who whispered in the ancient void language {BEND-TIME} one of Corvo's most powerful abilities but also one of his most taxing on his Mana without the use of potions to help restore his energy quicker.

But ending this soon was a priority just two shots to their heads and this was over...

Corvo hesitated

Was this the right call killing two youngsters who yes tried to kill him first granted. But he wasn't trying to be the Mask Killer of Dunwall once again here in this new world, thinking of the words of Daud. "I will not be that murder once again." And at that moment two shots went off two bullets aimed at both of their legs slowing them down but not killing them so he could escape.

Corvo stored away his weapons once again moving away from where he would have been shot by the waves bullets "Now time to...ACH!" Corvo grunted grasping his left as it suddenly felt as if it was on fire! Looking down to his arm, Corvo could see his Void mark glowing brighter than he's ever seen it. Trying not to sub come to the pain Corvo looked around seeing the world of time begin to flicker unable to sustain itself. 'The Spell!' Corvo's spell was broken as the world began to move forward again. The pain in his arm lessen a bit after but still throbbed barely able to move it

He heard grunts behind him from the two as they were hit by his earlier place shots. Looking back Corvo eyes widening seeing both still standing without wounds with the green hair one looking a bit angeryer then before. "I shot you both!" Corvo nearly shouted his voice filtered thought mask altering his voice.

"Yea your fast didn't even see you pull the trigger" Mercury commented "Differently not your everyday Hunter are you?" a smirk appeared on his face "And as much as I want to finish this. But times up" causing both Corvo and Emerald to stare at him or in Emerald case glare at him. "We can finish this," Emerald argued.

"We can't keep her waiting, and you know that" Mercury countered back getting a wide eye look of realization over Emerald before nodding glaring one last to Corvo before her and Mercury quickly made their way off the roof jumping down out of Corvo's sight.

Corvo waited a moment ready for a possible stealth attack that never came. Slowly his arm had more feeling in it than before making him able to at least move the damn thing, but he needed to get off this roof and away from this area far far away he needed time to think about what just happened and he needed his arm to recover in private. Corvo made it to the roof edge flexing his arm a bit, feeling a small trace of Void energy to flow through his veins. Corvo looked around and saw an approaching airship much smaller than the one he saw before. He guessed those were the authorities.

"Enough for one or two {BLINKS} at most huh" He was going to have to make it count with his low mana if he was going to get out of this mess.
