'How the fuck did I get in this situation!' was all Corvo could think. Here he was on the roof edge of a tall build with low void energy for only a {BLINK} or two an injury arm he could barely move, and this world law enforcement on their way in the distance in an airship after people probably hearing his earlier battle... His was starting to think he made poor life decisions.

Corvo began to search out an escape route 'Going to have to use a {BLINK} to get off this damn roof first of all and if there is no energy left, I'll have to make a run for it or blend in with the crowds' it was a start anyway. Corvo saw his perfect target in the distance an empty look alleyway that he could duck into and continue his escape 'Little out of range tho' so he was going to need a running start to jump towards that way and free fall for little.

Easy enough.

But he was going to have be quick about it so Corvo jogged towards the roof center to ready himself before taking off in a full sprint towards the roof edge. And as he ran he could hear the ship was close but he didn't pay it any mind and just focus on the approaching jump ahead 'Well it's all or nothing at this point' and with that Corvo reaches the roof edge and took a mighty leap of faith as the airship could be seen above him.

To the people of Vale anyone close by would of heard the earlier gunshots and explosion that happened on the rooftop so of course someone call the police to take care of the problem. But it's been a little quiet now for sometime as people see the police airship on scene with some people recording the action on their scrolls before a man could be seen jumping off the roof.

"OH MY GOD!" a shout could be heard among the crowd as a man fell closer towards the ground as a bit of panic began to be felt by most people watching the fall.

Closer... and closer did the man approach the ground. Making people turn away so that they would see the man gruesome death, but for others who continued to watch just as the man going to smash into the ground he vanish?

'Time to leave' Corvo thought hiding his mask away heading deeper into the alleyway putting some much needed distance from the law. His arm was still killing him as it would throb with pain every little while causing a bit of concern to Corvo since nothing like this has happened before 'Where's that godly bastard when you need him?!' Reaching the end of the alleyway as it lead to some busy street with people going about their day which was perfect making it easier for his purpose of disappearing. So Corvo merge into a crowd and began to think of a place to rest and lay low for a while maybe an inn of some kind after all he could pay for it now.

He'll figure it out he always does... Mostly.

(Later)

'Well that work out' Corvo thought as he lied back into his temporary bed. As it turns out these things call 'motels' where everywhere, and the map on Vale that he had said small places like these are all around the city at a great deal. Wasn't even difficult to find a small place to hideout for some much needed rest to regain his energy after the breakdown of the {BEND-TIME} since the pain has greatly been reduced. So here he lied thinking about his actions today's the ups and downs

Good news

He had money which was good.

Supplies with his new stuff.

A trader if needed again.

Knowledge in the form of new books.

Pizza is good.

Bad news

He got in a fight with some skilled fighters with his face still hurting a little after that kick.

Got injured by his own power.

Used some of his limited equipment.

Used his powers in front of a bunch of people.

The law may be looking for him, making him have to take careful steps

Still was lost on some things of this world.

No new purpose in his life.

Yea seems the bad might be winning this time.

"What a day" Corvo said aloud feeling his eyes began to tire 'Maybe tomorrow well be better'. Corvo then let sleep take over.

For what felt like five seconds before his eyes shot open to a familiar sight of a gray and darken world of the Void 'Great' Corvo thought as he began to look around. But of course he couldn't really tell where he was since the Void is ever changing but it looks like he was on a lone platform with no other land around leaving him stuck.

"Outsider!" Corvo shouted "If your going to bring me here show yourself" he really wasn't in the mood for this all he wanted was some rest.

"No need to be so defensive Corvo" a distorted voice echoed from all around "After all it just a chat between friends right?" this time the voice came from right behind him making Corvo turn and jump back from an amused looking Outsider.

"There you are Outsider what is it that you need?" Corvo questioned after all he hasn't seen him since he first left his old world. "Straight to business huh Corvo, very well I don't have much time anyway not very easy contacting you in another world" the Outsider than made appear two chairs and a table with Corvo suddenly teleported into one of the chairs to his surprise while the Outsider took the other. "I see you run into trouble already Corvo didn't take you very long ".

"Skip it" Corvo voice with venom

"And I've seen wonders that the world had to offer though you, and I have to say that it greatly interest me" an amused smile appeared on the Outsider features that made Corvo a little disturbed "So I do hope you keep interesting me Corvo as I have been enjoying it so far".

"I'm not your toy Outsider" Corvo was starting to run out of patience "Why am I here?"

But the Outsider never seemed bothered by Corvo attitude and simple continued " Yes you might had found to one of your powers have backfired on you" this got Corvo attention "{BEND-TIME} a powerful ability that very few ever learned so a credit to you Corvo for even mastering it but there is a slight problem you'll find it difficult to us it in that other world."

"Why?"

"It actually simple those powers have become your own overtime truly bonding with you and, going past my control but still having a strong connection to it original world." But the Outsider could still see Corvo confusion "Corvo you have no connection to that new world no knowledge no place! You are an enigma so you hold no control over a force you have no part of so when you stop time it rejected you a foreign force and you felt that backlash".

Corvo was final understanding the Outsider "So I'll never be able to {BEND-TIME}" that didn't sit well with Corvo his most powerful ability was basically no use to him putting him at a disadvantage".

"Well I didn't say that" the Outsider cut in "You have no hold or connection now but as spend the rest of your days in the new world you may find your place and your powers may change over time as well". That caught Corvo off guard "So as I spend my time there my power should come back?"

"Maybe maybe not nothing like this has been done before, that what makes it interesting" the Outsider went on.

And like that Corvo patience was gone so he got from his chair "I want to go now Outsider" his voice tired really just wanting some rest. "Very well Corvo are time was short anyhow till next time" and with that the Outsider snap his fingers a bright bling light flash over took Corvo sight for a moment before he found himself but on his bed a morning light gleaming through the window of the room.

'So much for a peaceful sleep' Corvo thought as he sat up his body feeling well rested and healed even if his mind was annoyed after his dreams had an uninvited guest. 'Hell of a start to a day' Corvo could help think, but at least he found out what went wrong yesterday no more {BEND-TIME} for a while. 'Speaking of time' Corvo checking a random clock that hang in the room it was still pretty early in the morning so he had plenty of time to wash since he hasn't in a couple days so he was probably starting to smell so better now while he had the time.

Besides a wash could be relaxing might even wash his old clothes while he's at it a real clean start to the day if he were to say. Besides he was laying low anyway.

You are Professor Goodwitch and your having a busy morning... again

The police Chief call again this morning with "There some shit you have to see " in his usual manner saying the mask hunter was sighted again but this time not as quiet as last time. Goodwitch than was sent a link to a video that was recorded off someone scroll who posted it under the name 'The Disappearing Jumper' were a man could be seen jumping off a roof and falling towards the ground before disappearing and avoiding the ground. To most people this was a very elaborate prank pulled off by some people in an attempt to mess with people, but it was simple to pause the video and zoom in to see a glimpse of a mask face before vanishing he had different clothing but the mask and build still match his last sighting .

And something the rest of the public didn't have was a second video capture by the police airship after an emergency call of a battle that could be heard on a rooftop. Which makes one ask the question who was he fighting before the airship arrive but there is no information at this time to even try to figure that out. But back to the video, by the time the airship arrived to the rooftop some damage could be seen of the battle that already past, the mask hunter could be seen running to the roof edge and jumping but this time with an above use view before teleporting.

As Goodwitch watch the video she wonder why didn't he simple teleport off the roof without jumping making her think that there might be a range to his semblance or maybe he wanted to be seen by the people but why? She couldn't wrap her head around it but all that mattered was that the public had sight on him now with the video trending online with increasing views 'So much for keeping it a secret' she thought but this still could work most people probably saw this as a prank since nobody should know of his first sighting in a Dust shop.

They should be doing something about this but with such little information waiting it out was the only options in till there 'agent' was here or maybe if Ironwood agent got here first. But the police have a arrest on site warrant on him now no lethal force unless meet with lethal force from what the Chief told her. But she had other work to settle the first years were being sent out on training missions so maybe the school well be a little quieter,

She was still going to have to make a quick report to Ozpin to keep him updated "I just hope nothing extreme happens with this mask hunter."

(Back with Corvo, motel, location Vale )

Alright cleaned myself and my clothes check, gun maintenance check, Blade sharpen check, Equipment check was a check Corvo had to make sure ever ready if he was going back out there in this crazy world. He's next move was to go to a library that he had found after looking over the map a bit more so he could have a nice quiet place to read and find new information. But more importantly laying low was his main goal seeing as he kind of caused a scene with his battle yesterday and, also probably when he jump off that roof. For that same reason he was wearing his freshly wash old black coat instead of the new one after all the law might recognize it since it was in daylight.

But he's spent enough time here and it was time to move out, so raising his hood Corvo made his way out of the room and down to the front desk to check out under the fake name he had used. After that was done Corvo began to travel the lively streets of Vale with people going about their morning but it did seem like people were distracted with there...what were called again? Scrolls if he remembered what that green haired girl said, he couldn't see the fascination with the things but seemed like most people had one so it might be something to look into later since he almost got shot over one.

Corvo had been walking for about an hour instead of teleporting seeing it as a safer call found himself towards the center of the city where much taller building resided looking as the main big business center with what look like mostly workers walking around suits and all around nicer clothing . It was a bit more crowded than he would prefer walking around this area but he had to say it had a exotic look about it how busy it was and full life with stranger shops than he's seen so far but still full of shoppers.

He found the library a little later being much grander than he thought it would be having it be three stories tall with white columns supporting the build on all sides and a marble staircase leading to the entrance where a sign could be seen 'Vale Grand Library' seem fitting with how the place looks. Corvo made his way up the stairs to the entrance and was on his way in before he heard someone call out "Hold the door please!" Corvo turn to see what sounded like young girl walking to the door carrying a large stack of books that completely block her upper body. Corvo simple held the door for the girl as she walk though and following in himself after, but at that moment notice the white cat like tail before she turn to him "Thank you sir" but Corvo just wave her off "No problem" but Corvo could see her predicament.

"Would you like some help with that?" Corvo offered

"Oh no no no I don't want to trouble" the girl try to decline but Corvo see her arms struggling with the weight.

" Are sure? It wouldn't be much of an issue" Corvo said

"Well if it's not a problem than sure some help would be nice" the girl agreed

"Very well" Corvo walk over to the girl and took the whole stack of books from her, surprising her "Now where too?" Corvo ask causally.

"Wait you don't have to carry all of them" girl said

Corvo shifted the the stack books a bit so he could actually get a look at the girl, she was a bit shorter than him barely reaching his chest, had brown hair that had white cat like ears sticking out, with blue eyes. She was wearing a dark blue hooded that had a white paw mark in the middle with black shorts and shoes.

"It's fine I can carry this without a problem" Corvo assured since he was physically stronger than he look after years of training and the use of Void energy that was coursing through his veins he was past normal human strength even if he doesn't know those limits yet. Although she didn't look sure she agreed "If you're sure than thanks name's Luna by the way" the now name Luna said.

"Corvo".

"Nice to meet you than Corvo, lets get going than" Luna than guided Corvo as she navigates her way through the large library quiet easily so Corvo took the chance to look around a little admiring the vast collection of knowledge just waiting for his use. He couldn't wait to see what he learned from this library because the more he knew the less surprises he would run into witch was something that he was starting to get tired of after all the troubles he has been running into. Luna lead him to what most likely was the front desk book where middle age man had been sitting reading a book of his own unaware of Luna present in till she knock on the hard wood desk startling the man.

"Geez Luna I've told about doing that" the man said irritated "What you finish all those books already?" Luna smirk "You got that right. Hey Corvo you can set those right up here" she patted the desk of where to place them. Corvo place the stack in front of the man.

"Oh i see you have help today

Hello sir" the man greeted

"Greetings" Corvo said simply

"Yea he help which I have to thank again for that Corvo" Luna smiled grateful for the hand

"Like I said before, it wasn't a problem, but your welcome" Corvo accepted

The Librarian pull his trustee stamp out and begins look over Luna books "Hey Luna heard about what happen downtown yesterday?". Luna shook her head "No me and my team where out a mission just got back last night, why what's sup?" she asked curiously. "Well heard some battle went down on some rooftops know gunshots an explosion that kind thing, but than the police show up in an aircraft! Than some guy jump off the build scare the hell out of some people before vanishing just before he hit the ground the video online if your curious".

"Huh no kidding? Guess I'll check that later" Luna said nonchalantly.

"Well I still have business to take care of so I wish you both a good day" Corvo cut in.

"Oh yea I don't want to hold you any longer thanks again" Luna wave to Corvo as he began his search through the Library, but what the man said really got him thinking 'A man jumped off a roof on video' he had to be talking about his escape yesterday. He's seen video before but never in a way to spread it to others to view for themselves, so people could view his action 'online' whatever that was just something else to add to his search through books. Corvo would have to be far more careful with actions in front of people to make sure that didn't happen again, and his moments had to be selected better as well.

But that was though for another time he did come here for a reason, so Corvo began his long search of the many books on subjects he found most important at this current time.

(Few Hours Later)

Corvo had closed the final book that he's read after being here at the library for a little while now finding that coming here was a great choice as some things were starting to final come together since he's been here, for one the white fang situation made a little more since now.

The Fanuus had been through some tough times with humans after looking for a history book on fanuus just to get a real understanding of them he found something darker. He's finding showed that they had been enslaved before, forced to do hard labor and just plainly mistreated even if the worst of it was a long time ago they still get bullied,insulted, or in the worst case scenario psychically abused.

'Starting to see where the kill all humans thing comes from' Corvo thought to himself 'Seems a good number of them never forgot or forgave the actions that some of the humans had taken'. But he still couldn't understand why? Yes they had some animal features but they still resemble a mainly human outlook. But Corvo couldn't help but think of how things were back home when man is presented with something they can't fully control or understand there pron to backlash against it in full force such as when sickness started to spread around his country itself. Closing off half the city's keeping the poor in the worst of sicken areas it became a separation between the haves and the have nots but in the end no one won.

Not even him...

"Well shit" Corvo whispered under his breath. This White Fang group was about to pull a mass killing after years of being treated as second class people, and he might be one of the only people that even know about it, but what was he supposed to do? Did he even have a right to get involved with this world problems or more importantly was he ok with letting a large number of people die with he's silences. There was no telling if the ether side will actually win and be left with nothing but body's on both sides.

Sure the White Fang hates humans but that didn't mean ever Fanuus did, seeing how they seem to have relationships with humans in there daily lives so they didn't even have a choice with the White Fangs actions! If anything this would widen the gap between humans and fanuus cause more distrust later down the line. Corvo seen similar things happen before choices of the few having lasting effects of the many. That's kind of how he ended here his choices ruined a whole country with people who had nothing to do with the death of the Empress but none the less they still had their life ruined and possible cause the death of many.

Something that still weighs heavily on his thoughts...maybe he could look into this whole White Fang plan a bit more since he could guess there was more behind this plan with this Roman charter behind the scene of all of this and him being human with the White Fang.

Corvo just let out a sign after thinking all this over he'll have to really think on this before making a final decision, but if he was to follow through on this and go after the White Fang he had do this right understanding this world's weapons so he could equip himself with the best that he could find, and to be able to deal with any nasty surprises. Investigate the White Fang to the best of his ability meaning that he get as much proof of interest as needed to put a stop to the White Fang after all he was just one man, and he didn't know how big the White Fang really is but it mostly likely was something that this world law force would have to deal with in the end but he could be the one who gets it started.

And most importantly not as the mask killer he once was.

The next problem was the world fighters or hunters and huntress as they were called. He was able to do a little reading on the subject of them seeing how they were the main driving point this world defense again actual monster. Still never got over the fact that monsters are just a thing here and he prayed that he never has to deal with that shit! But he was getting off subject these fighters are going to be a problem for him to deal with seeing as they were just super humans that mostly made him look normal in comparison, and that was saying something.

The books didn't say much about what they could do fully being pretty much vague, but he could fill in some gaps himself after dealing with those two brats form the other day. What really worried him was he dealing with one of the best or there average because one was manageable other meant he might be screwed.

Corvo leaned back in his chair, looking up towards the ceiling "I need some new equipment"he said aloud since he was in a corner to himself with no one around. To bad the Professor wasn't around anymore. Man was a genius that made all of his current gear from the many trap that he carry or to the mask that at first was just a way to hide his identity had really become apart of him now, but he didn't have the Professor so he was going to have to make due with what he had.

But if he had some kind of way to get resources things would go a bit smoother maybe if he did some digging in the lower city something will pop up. After all he had no problem taking from criminals, or even making some deals if there was a black market scene that was what use to anyway. Corvo began to think on the weapons that the White Fang had guns, swords, and that metal monster they had so they had to be getting it all from somewhere right? So he was going to need a coward because in his experience there was always a few in the group that just needed some encouragement.

Best place to start was most probably WaterFront where there gathering took place, but if that didn't hold anything second would be around Liz neighborhood seeing how the idiots were out dress like that in daylight it shouldn't be hard to find them. But it would take a little while to walk there so best take his leave now and it would be nearly dark making it a perfect time for him. Now just to put these books back then it was time to leave. So Corvo retrace his way through the library putting everything back where it was tho the thought of keeping some for reference did cross his mind, but it mostly would be more trouble than it was worth after the scroll thing he didn't need a librarian trying to kill him over it.

With everything done Corvo made his way out of the building and almost out the door when he heard a familiar call.

"Corvo! can you hold the door" Luna Called out. Corvo turn to see Luna who once again had a stack of books but not nearly as large the stack she had before, so Corvo once again held the door for Luna she walk out with Corvo coming after her letting the door close behind him.

Now out the the library Luna turned to Corvo giving him a kind smile "Thanks again Corvo".

"I said before it's not a problem, but I have to ask why so many books?" Corvo ask.

"Oh well" Luna chuckled a bit embarrassed "I've read pretty much every book in my academy's library so I come here to grab a bunch of books to read for a while."

"Well the quite the interest in reading you have" Corvo commented as he started to make his way down stairs library with Luna following suite "Well of course so much enjoyment in books" Luna said enthusiastically "There so much that we can learn from books so that we grew as better people you know?"

"Hmm yes" Corvo said with a dull tone focusing more on the task at hand, but Luna seemed not to notice Corvo lack of interest as they made it to the bottom of the step were Corvo received his map from his coat to figure his way out of this part of town.

"Oh" Luna notice the map "Are you new to Vale?

Corvo continued to look over his surrounds and the map to figure out where to go next " You can say that since I only been here a few days now" it was time to part ways so he could get a move on. "If you need some help getting around I can give some directions" Luna said trying to be helpful

"No it's fine" why wasn't she leaving "I'm sure I know where going anyway...but thanks".

"Well if your sure than enjoy your day" with that goodbye Corvo headed off into the surprisingly crowded streets of Vale for this time of day as he cut his way through and final make his to Lower Vale.

(Lower Vale)

The sun was setting on the water's edge of Vale as Corvo walk the the water way enjoying the sights as the air was filled with the smell of salt and seaweed which to Corvo was pleasant reminding him of the sea town that he was born from where Whale hunting was the town main income making whale oil the main source of power for everything. 'Huh?' wonder what they use here while he was thinking about it.

Something to find out later.

While going over his thoughts Corvo could see the Warehouses in the distance so it was time to focus. Approaching the builds closer Corvo could see that there was a lot more destruction than he was expecting some shipment containers were thrown about ever which as what look like a cleaning crew was working hard to clear the mess. Bad news was that seem like the area had been closed off with tape everywhere and more importantly offices where stationed around the area to most likely keep the public out.

'Well that great' Corvo thought annoyed 'I guess I could sneak in but is there anything worth the risk of dealing with the officers since he was supposed to be laying low'. He did come all this way so he might as well try to get something 'So let's try the direct approach' Corvo made he's ways towards a young officer who was blocking the sidewalk entrance to the Warehouses.

The officer notice Corvo approach so he straightened himself by standing at attention. If Corvo had to guess he was a newer officer by how young he looks and how he was carrying himself at his approach.

When Corvo had gotten close enough the officer greeted him "Hello there sir!" The officer nearly shouted. Corvo wince a little at the volume "Good evening officer I was wondering was going on here?"

"While sir there was an incident here two nights ago so we had to close off the area for safety reasons while cleaning continue." Hearing those words a through ran though Corvo 'So if there still cleaning they probably haven't moved everything out yet mean there had to be something he could pick up'. Corvo thank the man and walk across the street and began to formulate a plan 'If I can find anything to work off of I'll be able to get my own investigation started.'

The sun lowered as time went by and the Waterfront was starting to be covered with shadows which Corvo had been already taking advantage while wearing his mask as he walked the maze like set up of the shipping canisters. Corvo look down on top of canisters seeing the clean up of the destruction caused by that metal monster. "Guess it went on a bigger rampage than I thought" Corvo seeing the scattered canisters and the destroyed structures that large number of workers were cleaning up "I have to be on my guard with this mean people around".

Activating {DARK VISION} Corvo world view change as the many people of the Waterfront became glowing yellow outlines that could be seen around Corvo with none escaping his sight. 'It's a good thing this power never took too much power to keep going' after all he once used the power for an entire mission without fail, and another time forgetting he even had the power on at all have gotten used to seeing with it at all times. Corvo began to track his way back following the destruction Corvo seen the warehouse where it all started, it was blocked off with another set of tap and guards but with {DARK VISION} he could see was some people on the inside who were investigating.

'So guess there still looking for cause then'. "Hmm?" Corvo {DARK VISION} seem to focus on a target of an outline as seem to be leaving from the back of the Warehouse? "Now where are you going?" Zooming in though his mask Corvo saw that the person was carrying a Case that his {DARK VISION} was highlight brightly. Corvo couldn't completely understand why but it always seemed that his vision would know what he was looking for, even if he didn't yet.

The target was moving farther and farther from everyone else so Corvo went with what his powers showed him and pursued the soon to be unlucky person and with that Corvo {BLINK} out of sight.

In the shadows of the Waterfront Corvo was hidden in a gap in between the many canisters ahead of the target which for him was child play. Corvo was watching the approach of his target with {DARK VISION} with a loaded crossbow ready, but it was loaded with a non lethal sleep dart that was formulated by himself and the Professor. All he needed was for it to pierce the skin, and they would knock out instantly so all he had to do was receive the dart and the package there wouldn't be any clues to what had happened.

'This is easier than I thought' Corvo couldn't help but think with everything running too smoothly. Aiming his crossbow Corvo simple wait for target to pass by as he followed he's target path. Hearing the approaching footsteps Corvo finger slide over the trigger as his target final cross his path so without hesitation Corvo took his shot as the crossbow silently launch dart making it soar towards his target.

But what happened next was a complete shock to Corvo as he witnessed his dart hit what look like another layer above the skin that made the dart bounce off 'But how?' then Corvo eye's widen behind his mask as his 'target' reacted quickly to his attack and jump away from Corvo while withdrawing a weapon for somewhere he couldn't guess where? There was an umbrella?

There umbrella was elaborately decorated in lace fabric of multiple colors these being mostly pink and white in the middle as well as red and brown at the edges. Corvo moved fast he had grabbed his hilt for his waist and popping the blade imminently since he knew he had a fight on his hands making him curse under his breath "It's a goddamn Hunter!"

Because of course nothing could be easy.
