Night: Certain uncle... *gasp* you don't mean?

Chapter 12
It had been three weeks since Rukia had returned and Night became a Soul Reaper, Tatsuki, Chizuru, Keigo, Mizuru, and Chad had come to see Ruki glad and happy to see she was back Night's friends were glad for Night and were enthusiastic on meeting Rukia plus hearing Night's story on how she became a Soul Reaper.
Isshin and Yuzu had come to visit Yuzu now 27 her light brown hair now mid back, her brown eyes soft and had a gentle side but also had an air of responsibility but once she saw Rukia she was ecstatic to see her. Isshin had hardly changed beside his slight graying hair yet it didn't stop him from jumping Ichigo and Night who both punched him away from them and like Yuzu, Isshin was happy to see Rukia again.
Night had took her training with Rukia very seriously with not just Zanjutsu but also learning kido which was tricky for Night now they were outside practicing it a target a few feet in front of Night, Rukia sitting with Hikari and Akiro who had wanted to watch Night put up her hand as red spiritual pressure formed around her as she began chanting. "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on the South! Hado # 31 Shakkaho"!
Night then shot out the sphere of red energy but before it hit the target it exploded Night groaned. "Seriously?! You got to be kidding me"! She growled.
"It's ok Night", Rukia began.
"No it's not mom I even got the chant down yet it still didn't work", Night said angrily.
"Night it takes time to master Kido believe not all are masters of it heck during our days in the academy every time Renji tried to perform Shakkaho it would blow up in his face", Rukia smiled.
"Seriously"? Night asked shocked.
"Honest", Rukia smiled.
Night couldn't help but giggle glad that it was natural for not getting the Kido spells right. "Here Night some tea", Hikari said, giving Night a cup.
"Thanks Hikari", Night said taking the cup.
"You shouldn't overwork yourself about this take your time on it and you'll get it right", Akiro said.
"Yeah, yeah", Night said sipping her tea.
"Lunch is ready"! Orihime called out.
Hikari and Akiro walked in and just before Night was about to go back in her body. "Oh Night I want to talk with you about something", Rukia said.
"Hm? What is it mom"? Night asked.
"Well you're not going to be busy this Sunday right"? Rukia asked.
"Depends on the Hollow sighting. Why"? Night asked, sipping her tea.
"Well I thought you, me, and Nii-sama could spend the day together on Sunday here", Rukia smiled.
Night choked on her tea quickly coughing and cleared her throat. "W-when you say Nii-sama you mean Byakuya"? Night asked nervously.
"Of course since you never got to know Nii-sama it's about time you did now that we don't have to hide your heritage and such", Rukia explained.
"And… This was your idea"? Night asked, drinking her tea.
"Well mine and Nii-sama's idea actually", Rukia said.
Night spit out her tea coughing again. "Wait! Byakuya's idea too"?! Night gaped.
"When I went back to the Soul Society for my lieutenants meeting I met up with Nii-sama and he said about getting to know you after all you're not just a Kurosaki you're also a Kuchiki plus his niece so I suggested him to come here", Rukia explained.
Night gaped in shock then thought. "Wait is the Kuchiki family a big deal in the Soul Society"? She asked.
"It's one of the Four Great Noble families of the Soul Society", Rukia said sheepishly.
3… 2… 1.
"EH"?!
"Are you almost ready yet Night"?
"Almost"!
Night gulped as she looked at herself in the mirror she wore a black sleeveless turtleneck, light gray pants, her boots, earrings, and bracelet her hair combed yet orange highlights were curled. "Come on get a grip! He maybe a captain but he's also your uncle so relax", she thought.
Night then grabbed her bad that held her cell phone and badge then ran out of her room downstairs to see Rukia who kissed Ichigo she wore a blue blouse, a white skirt, white flats, and a blue clip that held her bang back she moved away from her husband and looked to see Night and smiled.
"Good you're all set and you look great", Rukia smiled.
"Thanks mom but I'm still a little nervous", Night said sheepishly.
"Don't worry it'll work out fine", Rukia assured her daughter gently.
"And if he says anything insensitive you tell me and I'll go beat him up", Ichigo assured with a smile, patting Night's shoulder.
"Dad please", Night sighed yet smiled.
"Ichigo don't worry everything will be fine", Rukia said.
"Now let's go Night".
"Right".
Night kissed Ichigo's cheek and walked off with Rukia out the house going to where they would meet with Byakuya, Night fiddled with the charm on her bracelet. "Mom how should I address Byakuya"? She asked.
"For now call him Byakuya-sama unless he says otherwise", Rukia said.
"Alright", Night nodded.
"And don't be so tense just relax", Rukia said gently.
Night grew wide eyed and looked at Rukia who had an assuring smile Night then smiled back as they walked to Tsubakidai Park they walked and then Night saw Byakuya standing by a water fountain wearing a black and white shirt, white pants, a brown leather jacket, and black shoes she also noticed a silver butterfly with crimson design on its wings on his shoulder as it then disappeared. "Nii-sama", Rukia called out with a smile.
Byakuya looked up at them and Night felt intimidated feeling his spiritual pressure through his gigai and by his sharp gaze but then to her surprise she actually saw them slightly soften when they walked to him. "Rukia, Night you're here good", he nodded.
"H-hello Byakuya-sama", Night said with a nervous smile.
"Ease yourself Night", Byakuya said gently.
Night was surprised but then softly smiled and nodded. "So where shall we go"? Byakuya asked.
"Huh"? Night said confused.
"Me and Nii-sama agreed that you'd decide where we'd go", Rukia smiled.
"O-oh", Night said with a sweatdrop.
Night sighed taking a deep breath rubbing the back of her neck. "Well I know some places we can go", she said.
"Then lead on", Rukia smiled.
Night nodded smiling back as they walked out of the park and walked around Karakura Town Night stood between Rukia and Byakuya as they walked and talked or better yet Night and Rukia talked and Byakuya speaking now and then.
But Night enjoyed their time getting to know her mother and uncle as they then walked past a pet store Night noticed Rukia was missing. "Huh? Where did mom go"? She asked.
"That should answer your question", Byakuya said pointing.
Night looked and sweatdropped to see Rukia looking at the pet shop window her face glowing. "They must be showing the baby rabbits again", she said.
"You know of her love of rabbits then"? He asked.
"Yeah when she saw the bunny plush dad gave me when I was 10, sorta gave it away", she giggled.
"And do you have the same infatuation"? He asked.
Night chuckled sheepishly. "Yeah a bit guess it's one of the things I inherit from mom", she said.
Then to Night's surprise Byakuya actually gave a small smile of amusement and Night gave a sheepish smile back then Byakuya reached in his jacket pocket and got out a small white wrapped gift and handed it to Night who looked confused. "What is it"? She asked.
"A late gift", he said.
Night looked confused but then grew wide eyed and chuckled. "Mom told you about my birthday didn't she", she said, taking the gift.
"You can say that", he said.
Night unwrapped and opened the gift to see a soft pink cherry blossom charm. "So pretty! Thank you Byakuya-sama", she smiled.
"You may call me uncle if you wish", he said softly.
Night looked surprised but then smiled happily as she put the charm on her bracelet along with the snowflake charm. "Ok Uncle Byakuya", she said.
Rukia finished looking at the bunnies and looked to see Night smiling happily and Byakuya having a small yet kind smile which made Rukia glad the two were getting along as she walked to them. After a while Night led them back to the park Rukia and Byakuya were wondering why they were here again as they followed Night who had a smile as she then led them to the spot. It was a small spot where there was a cherry blossom tree and a stream the petals falling Rukia and Byakuya were stunned as they walked and sat down by the tree enjoying the peacefulness. After a while Night fell asleep her head on Rukia's lap while Rukia stroked her hair. "She's something isn't she"? Rukia asked softly.
"Indeed like a gentle cherry blossom innocent as she sleeps", Byakuya said, his voice equally soft.
Night mumbled in her sleep snuggling closer to Rukia who softly smiled then the silver and crimson butterfly appeared flying to Byakuya he lifted his hand for it to land there Rukia looking at it shocked. "Yes you can show yourself sense our spirit energy to find us", he said.
The butterfly then flew off Rukia looking at Byakuya. "Nii-sama", she began.
"Rukia, Night isn't just a Kurosaki she is also a Kuchiki meaning she too will be under the protection of the butterfly", he said.
Rukia frowned knowing Night wouldn't like the idea but knew there was no choice. "Night wake up", she said softly.
Nigh groaned opening her eyes and sat up yawning. "You guys ready to leave"? She asked, as she stretched.
"Well not exactly theres someone whos going to meet you", Rukia said.
"Someone I'm going to meet"? Night questioned, as Byakuya stood up.
"That's right and here she is now", he said.
Night then heard rustling and looked to see someone coming over to them it was a teen girl who looked around 16 she had dark purple hair that was in two braids that go to the back of her head in a bun while the rest go down to her collarbone, dark amethyst eyes, fair pale skin, wearing a black sweatshirt, dark sweatpants, shoes, a silver butterfly necklace, and Night could also see a rune butterfly mark on the back of her left hand. "Um who's this"? Night asked confused.
"This is Katsumi Yukimura 3rd seat of the 4th Division as of today she is your bodyguard", Byakuya said.
"Bodyguard? Well ok why not", Night shrugged.
3 seconds later. "WHAT"?! Night gaped.
"I knew she wouldn't like it", Rukia sighed.
"Not liking it is an understatement mom", Night said annoyed.
"I don't need a bodyguard I can take care of myself".
"That maybe true but you don't have much choice to this Lady Night", Katsumi said emotionlessly.
Night turned to face Katsumi seeing that maybe her voice was emotionless but she could see her eyes were cold as ice. "You see the Yukimura Clan is a clan born to serve the Kuchiki Clan each member of the Kuchiki Clan is to have a bodyguard from the Yukimura Clan that includes you as well", Katsumi explained.
"But I'm not even a full member of the Kuchiki Clan! I didn't even knew about my mom's side until I became a Soul Reaper and met her again", Night said shocked.
"True you are a Kurosaki but it doesn't change this for even if you never knew you're still a noble, a member of the Kuchiki Clan", Byakuya said.
Night twitched feeling uncomfortable of the thought of being a noble. "So no matter what I'm a Kuchiki and I should follow this no matter how much I don't like this", Night stated.
"I'm sorry about this Night", Rukia frowned.
Night only shrugged standing up and then walked to Katsumi and put out her hand. "We should do proper introductions I'm Night Kurosaki it's nice to meet you Katsumi-san", she smiled.
Katsumi only nodded and shook Night's hand. "And it's… Nice to meet you as well Lady Night", she said emotionless.
Night twitched at the title. "Is it really necessary to call me that? Just Night is fine", she said.
"You know the truth so its time you embrace your rank as a noble as well", Byakuya said.
Night blinked then sighed as she rubbed the back of her head. "Ok I guess that's fair enough", she said.
Rukia frowned slightly yet glad Night was accepting this hoping she continues to do so.
