Prologue

Barry's Background

This a world where both Barry's dad and mom were murdered that night by a robber instead of Thawne/Fake and is adopted by Joe, the cop who investigated that case. Except in this story, Barry isn't attracted to Iris rather he is attracted to Caitlin after he wakes up from his coma when he was struck by lightning.

Caitlins Background

Caitlin had just gotten into a relationship with Ronnie when she finds out he cheated on her but doesn't get to confront him as he dies in the blast as he tried to fix the machine.

Chapter 1, Barry's POV

It was another day at Star labs, with another Metahuman down, so I was just relaxing next to one of the star labs fans, as it was burning inside due to scorching heat outside but, that's not what was on my mind rather, I was getting grieve my parents death, as the day was coming closer and closer. As I was thinking about what to do this year, I saw Caitlin enter the lab and looking as beautiful as ever.

"Hey Caitlin", I said.

"Hey Barry", she said.

"No Metas", she added.

"Yup", I said, making myself comfortable next to the fan.

"Oh yeah, Barry before I forget, take this syringe and only use it if you feel like your internals is heating and you have trouble breathing. Okay. ", she said in a stern voice.

"Okay but, what is it", I asked.

"Inside that syringe is a chemical, that will lower your body temperature for a short period of time, but if it's used to many times it can be fatal to your organs", she replied.

So I took the syringe and kept it in the pockets of my new suit which Cisco had just finished designing, as the previous design didn't have pockets. After that, a few hours passed with monitoring the city for any signs of Metahumans, but luckily there were none except for the encounter this mourning. After that, I spent my entire evening training to be faster and stronger but eventually I was worn out as I trained for at least 3 hours straight. I looked at the camera monitor and saw it was dark outside so, I started to leave Star Labs when I saw Caitlin in a velvet red dress that made her look like an angel and said, "Hey Barry can you drop me off at that new Italian restaurant that just opened in downtown".

"Sure, but why", I questioned her.

"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, I have a date with this guy called Peter", she replied.

"Oh that's great", I said, although, in reality, I was very jealous that she was dating someone other than me.

So I lifted her up and flashed over to the restaurant and said, "Good luck", even though I was pretty jealous that she wasn't dating me.

Caitlins POV

When Barry dropped me off and said "Good Luck", I swear I heard him say it a bit sarcastically.

"NO duh, he loves you", Frost said.

"We're just friends Frost", I replied to Frost's comment about me and Barry being something.

So, I went into the restaurant and went over to the table where Peter was seated. We talked mostly about Science, as he was also a fellow scientist which made it easier to talk with him. Although the date did end up going well, I felt like he just wasn't the guy. Eventually, I mustered up the courage and told Peter that, I didn't think the relationship would work out with us, but he took it rather easy and said, "He was going to say the same thing", which was a huge relief. We shared the bill as the date ended out as a fail, and I said bye to Peter. As I was walking outside to the parking lot, to order an Uber to pick me up, I suddenly felt something hit the back of my head...
