Chapter 15
Rukia was out of her gigai adjusting her lieutenant band as Night talked with her Ichigo, Uryu, and Orihime went off to work while Akiro and Hikari went out. "Come on mom I'd really like to go to the Soul Society again to see Miyako, Asami, and Hoshii", Night said.
"Well", Rukia said thoughtfully then smiled.
"Alright you can come".
"Yes! Thanks mom", Night said happily.
Night followed Rukia to the Thirteen Division Barracks knowing Katsumi was following them behind. "Katsumi you know you can walk next to us", Night said.
"Is that an order"? Katsumi asked emotionlessly.
"Ur no", Night said.
"Then I'll stay where I am", Katsumi said bluntly.
Night sweatdropped and sighed. "If you want", she said.
Rukia weakly smiled at Night seeing how she wanted to be friendly to Katsumi even if Katsumi was cold to her. "Well here we are", Rukia said, now in front of the barracks.
"Lets go then", Night smiled.
They walked in the barracks Night looking around as they reached a door. "Captain Ukitake its me Lieutenant Rukia Kurosaki", Rukia said.
"Please come in Lieutenant"!
"Miyako"? Rukia questioned surprised.
Night was also surprised as Rukia opened the door and to see Kiyone and Sentaro trying to get Ukitake to lay down Miyako scowling at her captain and father. "Whats going on"? Rukia asked.
"We're trying to get father to rest but as usual he's being too stubborn", Miyako sighed.
"I need *cough* to send out some paper *cough* work to the other Divisions *cough*", Ukitake coughed.
"You need to rest Captain Ukitake"! Sentaro said.
"Yes please rest Captain"! Kiyone agreed.
"I'm here now Captain Ukitake so I'll handle the paperwork", Rukia said.
"But *cough*cough* the other papers", Ukitake began.
"I'll deliver the papers".
They all jumped hearing Night speak up turning to face her. "Night! I didn't see you there", Miyako said apologetic.
"Its fine Miyako and like I said I can deliver the other papers to the Divisions so you don't have to strain yourself Captain Ukitake", Night smiled.
"Thank you Night", Ukitake smiled weakly.
"No problem", Night grinned.
"Miyako *cough* go with Night in case she *cough* gets lost", Ukitake said.
Miyako looked at him then at Kiyone and Sentaro. "Make sure he gets some rest"? She asked them.
"Of course Miyako don't you worry", Sentaro smiled.
"We'll make sure the captain rests up", Kiyone assures.
Miyako smiled and nodded as the girls walked out of the room to the office. "Thanks again for helping Night", Miyako said.
"Hey like I said its no problem always willing to help", Night smiled, as they walked to the office.
"Alright these should be the papers", Rukia said grabbing three folded papers tied.
"One is for the Tenth Division, the other is for the Eleventh Division, and lastly for the Sixth Division".
"Oh I get to see Uncle and Asami today too", Night grinned, taking the papers.
"Be careful out there ok Night", Rukia said.
"Yeah mom don't worry Miyako and Katsumi are with me", Night smiled.
Night hugged Rukia and the three walked out of the barracks. "Say Miyako is Captain Ukitake always sick like that"? Night asked.
"Oh yeah ever since I can remember father has always been sick even before I was born its supposed to be an unknown illness so they haven't found a cure yet but usually it comes and goes", Miyako said.
"I see", Night hummed.
"Well we better get started lets head to the Eleventh Division"-
"Wait Night lets save that one for last", Miyako quickly said.
"Huh why"? Night asked confused.
"That is Captain Kenpachi Zaraki's division", Katsumi spoke.
Night flinched remembering said captain when she first met him and how he wanted to have a fight with her remembering his spiritual energy caused her to shudder. "Ok fair point Tenth Division first then", she said.
They then walked off heading toward the barracks for the Tenth Division Night knocked before coming in. "Captain Hitsuguya? Lieutenant Matsumoto"? Miyako called out as they entered.
Night looked around as they walked in and then heard a familiar voice. "Hey Miyako and hey Night"!
Night looked to see Asami smiling and walking to them. "Oh hey Asami", Night smiled.
"Come on Night-chan call me Asami-chan", Asami pouted, hands on hips.
"Oh uh right", Night nodded.
Asami smiled and looked at Katsumi and Miyako. "Hey Miyako-chan and hey Katsumi-chan good to see you again", Asami smiled.
"Hi Asami-chan", Miyako said happily
"You too Asami-chan", Katsumi said with a soft smile.
Night was surprised seeing the smile Katsumi had guessing that Katsumi was only friendly to non-Kuchiki people making her slouch.
"Hey Night-chan you ok"?
Night gasped hearing Asami's worried voice. "Im fine. Where's Captain Hitsuguya and Lieutenant Matsumoto"? Night asked quickly.
Asami frowned but answered. "Rangiku isn't here off drinking I bet as for Captain Hitsuguya he's in his office", she said.
"I'll go give it to him then you girls wait here", Night said.
Night walked in the division until reaching what she believed was the office she opened the door walking in to see Toshiro sleeping on the couch a blanket on him surprising her.
"Can I help you"?
Night quickly looked to see a guy sitting at the desk he looked like Toshiro his white hair spiked back some framing his turquoise eyes looking at her as she faintly blushed. "Oh um I have some papers for Captain Hitsuguya", she said.
"More paperwork father really did deserve that break", the guy sighed.
"Father"? She asked confused.
"Oh sorry my name is Tatsuya Hitsuguya third seat of Division Ten over there sleeping is my father Captain Hitsuguya", he said.
"I know the captain I met him a while back my name is Night Kurosaki", she said.
"Oh so you're Night I heard a lot about you even more from my sister Hoshii", he said,
"I had a feeling you were her brother you look alike but she has black hair and brown eyes", Night said.
"She got that from our mother mind placing the papers on the desk", he said.
"Oh sure", she nodded.
Night placed it on the desk as she looked at Toshiro as he slept. "So how long has he been asleep"? She asked.
"Not long with the Lieutenant gone somewhere father had to do her paperwork by the time he was done he was exhausted so I persuaded him to sleep while I do his work for him", Tatsuya explained.
"That was nice of you to do", she smiled.
He gave a light smile as he wrote. "Well I better get going see ya", she said.
"Bye and it was nice meeting you Night", he said looking at her with a smile.
She then left the office as he watched her go. "So that's Night Kurosaki daughter to Ichigo Kurosaki she really is something", he thought with a smile.
Night was walking down the hall as she heard Miyuki Tsuki chuckling in her mind. 'What's so funny'? She asked her.
'You like him'? Miyuki Tsuki asked playfully.
Night had a blush on her face shaking her head, 'Of course not! I just met him domt make crazy assumptions'! She said in her mind flustered.
Miyuki Tsuki giggled making Night sighed as she reached the girls. "You ok Night-chan? You're face is all red", Asami said worried.
"I'm fine lets get going Katsumi-chan, Miyako-chan", Night mumbled.
They all looked surprised except Katsumi who was emotionless again as they waved goodbye and left the barracks Night rubbing her forehead of her zanpakuto's teasing. "You ok Night"? Miyako asked.
"Yeah I am don't worry so next up is the Sixth Division lets get going", Night said.
They walked reaching the barracks and entering inside to see soul reapers signing papers others talking.
"Oh hey Snowdrop".
Night sighed turning to see Renji and Isao walking to them. "Hello Lieutenant Abarai, hey Isao", Miyako said.
"Hey guys", Night said.
"What brings you girls here"? Renji asked.
"Here to give some papers for Uncle Byakuya", Night said.
Everyone blinked Night's words looking at her shock. "Uncle", Renji began.
"Byakuya"? Isao finished flabbergasted.
"You know what why not I give him the papers", Night suggested.
"Go right ahead", Miyako said relieved.
Night chuckled as she held the papers and walked off finding Byakuya's office and knocked on the door. "Uncle Byakuya? Its me Night. Can I come in"? She asked.
There was silence until a voice answered.
"You may".
She opened the door to see Byakuya writing. "Hiya Uncle Byakuya", she said smiling.
"Night why are you here in the Soul Society"? Byakuya questioned, looking at her.
"Oh I came with mom wanting to see the others here next thing I knew I volunteered to hand out some papers for Captain Ukitake to other captains", she said, handing him the papers.
"I see", he said, as he took the papers.
"Well I better get go"-
"Night".
She turned to face her uncle. "Yes? Something wrong"? She asked.
"How are things going with Katsumi Yukimura"? He asked.
Night was surprised by the question but only shrugged. "Everything is fine Katsumi is still a bit stiff but Im sure we'll manage", she smiled.
He looked surprised but only for a moment until he was expressionless again and nodded. "I see then you may leave", he said.
"Ok bye Uncle", she said.
She left the office and jumped to see the stunned faces of Miyako, Renji, and Isao. "How can you talk to the Captain so casually"?! Isao questioned.
"What? Its not a big deal", Night shrugged as she walked.
"Not a big deal?! Night don't you feel intimidating when you talk to him"? Miyako asked stunned.
Night gave a sheepish chuckle. "I use to but after a bit I realize I shouldn't I mean he's my uncle part of my family. So Why feel intimidated by my own family"? She asked.
They all looked at Night surprised as she sighed. "Well the Eleventh Division is last lets get this over with", she said.
"Wait Captain Zaraki? Isao maybe we should go with them", Renji said.
"Do you not trust my ability to protect Night, Lieutenant"? Katsumi asked.
"No Katsumi of course not! Im only a bit worried", Renji began.
"Relax Renji we'll be fine you should only focus on your work", Night said with a sigh.
Renji sweatdropped and sighed. "But at least let Isao go with you so I don't worry", he said.
"Sure then lets go everyone", Night said.
"Yeah, yeah Im coming", Isao sighed, following the girls.
They then began to walk but as they did they then suddenly felt a large spirit pressure shocking them. "What the hell"? Isao questioned.
"It's a Hollow at the Rukongai at the first district", Miyako gasped.
"But how could it get there"? Isao questioned.
"We should contact one of the Lieutenants, Night"-!
Miyako and Isao looked and were shocked to see Night and Katsumi gone. "Oh don't tell me", Isao sweatdropped.
"Night went after the Hollow and Katsumi followed her", Miyako groaned.
"Dammit"! Isao yelled.
"Is it this way Katsumi"?
"Yes keep going straight".
"Alright"!
Night flash stepped ahead of Katsumi who watched her surprised and confused despite herself. "It makes no sense she's only been a Soul Reaper for only a close month and already her Flash Step can rival Lord Kuchiki and not only that her Kido is the strength of a Lieutenant while her bond and strength with her zanpakuto is incredible. How could it be possible she's gotten so strong in such a short amount of time"? She thought.
"Hey Katsumi I see the Hollow"!
Katsumi gasped as Night jumped at the Hollow who had a male soul in its hand who screamed Night raised her hand. "Hado # 33: Sokutsui"! She yelled.
She launched the blue lightning at the Hollow who screeched in pain dropping the soul Katsumi catching him as Night got in front of the Hollow. "AH! Damn you Soul Reapers! I'll eat you first", the Hollow growled.
"Id like to see you try", Night smirked.
The Hollow roared swinging its arm Night gasped being flung back crashing down at the floor as it cracked. 'Night'! Miyuki Tsuki gasped.
"I'm fine don't worry", Night assured, getting up.
"Haha not for long", the Hollow said smugly.
Then the Hollow opened its mouth and let out a loud screech making Night cry out and cover her ears. "ARGH! Its practically making my ears bleed"! She cried out.
"Haha! You cant attack me now die"! The Hollow screeched, reaching to attack Night.
But then Katsumi jumped in front of Night slashing the Hollow's arm making it cry out in pain. "Thanks", Night said, rubbing her ears.
Katsumi didn't answer as the Hollow growled. "That's it I'm going to kill you both"! The Hollow yelled.
"Don't think so", Night said.
And Night then stepped passed Katsumi flash stepped past the Hollow sheathing her zanpakuto the Hollow screeched being slashed before disintegrating. "Phew took it down", Night smiled.
Then Night looked at Katsumi and was surprised to see Katsumi looking stunned. "Katsumi"? Night asked.
"That movement and the attack with the zanpakuto its not as fast as Lord Kuchiki but close", Katsumi thought shocked, as Night looked at her confused.
"But its no doubt that was indeed Lord Kuchiki's signature move Senka"!
"Hey Katsumi you there"? Night asked.
Katsumi blinked then nodded. "Yes I am. May I ask a question Night"? She asked.
"Sure Katsumi", Night said surprised.
"That move you did just now. Where did you learn it"? Katsumi asked.
"Move? What move"? Night asked confused.
Katsumi looked shocked. "Is she not aware of the Senka? Could it be possible she used it unconsciously"? She thought.
"You girls ok"?!
They looked to see a large breasted women with short orange hair. "Lieutenant Matsumoto", Katsumi said.
"Oh so you're the Lieutenant of Division Ten", Night remarked.
"Yeah we're fine".
"What happened to the Hollow"? Rangiku questioned.
"Lady Night defeated it", Katsumi said.
"We both did", Night quickly said.
"Wait you took down the Hollow"?! Rangiku said shocked.
"Yeah we did and ah crap! Mom! She's going to have my head we gotta go Katsumi now"! Night quickly said.
"See ya Lieutenant Matsumoto! Oh Im Night by the way".
They then flash stepped away Rangiku watching them shock. "I sensed a great amount of energy when I hurried here I thought it was the Hollow but really. Was it Night"? She thought.
