Chapter 19
"Are you sure I look ok Katsumi"?
"Relax Lady Night as I said before you look lovely".
Night looked at her reflection nervously she wore an elegant and beautiful ice blue kimono with a white obi, her earrings, bracelet, and her hair pinned back by a pretty hair clip given to her by Byakuya with her bangs curled. "Ugh I feel close to vomiting", she grimaced.
"That's the nerves talking Lady Night you'll be fine", Katsumi assured with a sympathetic smile.
"I hope you're right I really don't want to mess this up", Night swallowed.
"You know you're not this self conscious", Katsumi remarked.
"Usually I'm not but this is a big deal and all", Night frowned.
"Well I can assure you that you'll make a great first impression", Katsumi assured.
"I hope so", Night sighed.
"Oh can you do me a favor"?
"Hmm, what is it"? Katsumi asked.
"Since I can't bring or carry my zanpakuto for obvious reasons yet you can. Do you mind carrying mine in case"? Night asked, picking up Miyuki Tsuki.
"That paranoid"? Katsumi asked with a slight smile.
"A bit yeah", Night said with a strained smile.
Katsumi smiled and gently took Miyuki Tsuki. "I'll be careful with her", she said.
"Thanks", Night smiled.
"Night".
They looked to see Byakuya coming in Katsumi bowed as Night gave a small smile. "How do I look Uncle Byakuya"? She asked.
Byakuya gave a light smile. "Like a true noblewomen", he said.
Night gave a light relieved look as he put up his arm. "Come let us be off", he said.
She nodded taking his arm as they walked out with Katsumi following behind them.
Shinji walked in the halls of the Research and Development Institution with a frown. "Why the hell did Mayuri wanted to talk to me here instead of coming to me? I have to catch up on that paperwork the Head Captain wanted me to do", he thought annoyed.
He then went in the office to see Mayuri sitting in front of his computer Nemu by his side as she looked up to see Shinji. "Master Mayuri, Captain Hirako is here", she said.
"Ah yes good", Mayuri said, turning his chair to face Shinji.
"What do you want Mayuri? I got enough to do as is", Shinji frowned.
"Hmph you say that now but you might change your tune once I show you what I wanted you to see", Mayuri smirked.
"Show me what"? Shinji questioned with a frown.
"Nemu give him the file", Mayuri said.
"Yes Master Mayuri", she nodded.
She walked to Shinji handing him a folder much to his confusion as he took it and saw the name. "Night's file? I didn't think you made one for her", he remarked.
"How could I not? She is an anomaly born with no signs of Spiritual Power until the night she met Lieutenants Abarai and Kurosaki suddenly becoming a Soul Reaper and getting more powerful at an alarming rate of course I'd have to observe her", Mayuri said.
"If Ichigo and Rukia heard that they'd go ballistic", Shinji thought with a sweatdrop before speaking.
"But why did you wanted to show me this"?
"Well after Nemu gave Night Kurosaki her checkup she managed to not only gain a blood sample but also secretly a sample of her Spirit Energy as well and after doing a few tests with it I found something quite interesting", Mayuri said.
Shinji raised an eyebrow confused before opening the file reading the papers before he gasped. "Oi Mayuri what the hell am I reading"?! He demanded.
"You don't need me to explain when it's all there", Mayuri said.
"But what's written here"! Shinji began.
"Yes it seems that the Hollow that injured Night Kurosaki was no ordinary Hollow", Mayuri remarked.
Shinji clenched his teeth tightly. "Where is she? I know you know where is she Mayuri? Where's Night"?! He demanded.
"Well since I'm in a giving mood Nemu", Mayuri said.
"Night Kurosaki is in the Kuchiki Manor as we speak", Nemu said.
At once Shinji flash stepped away leaving behind the file which Nemu caught. "My, my, such a rush when he can't stop the inevitable", Mayuri sighed.
Night gasped softly and Byakuya looked at her. "Are you alright Night"? He asked.
"Er yes Im fine Uncle Byakuya don't worry", Night assured with a light smile.
He looked at her and only nodded as they continued walking Katsumi, who was following them, frowned. "Lady Night's Spirit Energy just now it wavered almost as if something pulled it Lord Kuchiki must've sensed it as well. But what was it"? She thought with a frown.
Night had a deep frown as she walked. "Why do I feel so light headed? Even my Spirit Energy feels different", she thought.
'Like its crushing you"~?
Night nearly jumped by the unfamiliar voice in her mind. "Who? That wasn't Miyuki Tsuki, so who"? She thought shocked.
"Lord Kuchiki, Lady Night".
Night looked up to see a servant bowing in front of them standing next to a door. "The guests are all here and are awaiting your arrival", the servant said.
"Good, ready Night"? Byakuya asked.
Night blinked before softly smiling and nodded. "Yes I am Lord Byakuya", she said.
He was surprised by the use of title but seeing the look in Night's eyes he nodded as the servant opened the door and they walked in to see, to Night's surprise, a ballroom like room where many nobles stood making her swallow as they looked up to see them. "Welcome I am glad you all could make it this is a ball in honor of my niece and heiress of the Kuchiki Clan, Night", Byakuya said.
The nobles spoke to one another softly as Night looked up at Byakuya who nodded to her she nodded back as she let go of his arm and took a step forward making them look up at her. "Hello it is an honor and pleasure to meet you all I am Night Snow Kurosaki as lady of the Kuchiki House I welcome you and hope you have a wonderful time tonight", she said, with a graceful bow.
"Perfect Lady Night", Katsumi thought, with a smile on the inside.
Byakuya nodded in approval as she stood straight and he face forward placing a hand on her shoulder. "As Night said enjoy your time here", he said.
The nobles began to mingle as some walked to them making Night swallow. "Here's the real test", she thought, giving a smile.
Miyuki Tsuki stood in Night's inner world frowning seeing one of the sakura flowers begin to wilt. "Night", she said worried.
"You know it's too late to start worrying now".
Miyuki Tsuki quickly turned and glared at the smirking figure in front of her. "Just what are you planning to do with Night"? She questioned.
"Oh just gonna have some fun since I'm finally awake and all and you should've saw this coming it was all a matter of time and that Hollow really sped up the process too", the figure chuckled.
"Why you, do you have no shame"?! Miyuki Tsuki hissed angrily.
Swiftly the figure grabbed Miyuki Tsuki by the neck making her gasp. "I'd watch what you say I'm only doing this cause we share the same goal for princess so I suggest keeping silent", the figure threatened.
Miyuki Tsuki frowned deeply as the figure smirked. "Now it's show time", they said, snapping their fingers.
Suddenly Night gasped midway from shaking a noble's hand making them look at her. "Night what's wrong"? Byakuya questioned.
"I-I don't I mean I", Night began, her face pale as a sheet.
"Lady Night are, you alright? Do you feel ill"? Katsumi questioned worried.
Night gasped out before crying out in agony as she dropped to her knees. "AHHH"! She shrieked in pain, hunched over.
"Lady Night! Please what's wrong"?! Katsumi gasped, kneeling down.
"Oh nothing really however".
Katsumi gasped to see Night facing her smirking with half a Hollow mask on the right side of her face her sclera blackened and irises glowing golden-yellow. "I'd like my sword please", she said.
Happening so fast Katsumi found herself slammed to the wall Miyuki Tsuki taken from her as Byakuya shielded the nobles from the shockwave of the attack 'Night' grinned widely as she held Miyuki Tsuki. "Ah much better I appreciate you bringing it here thanks", she smirked.
Katsumi winced as she gripped her injured shoulder tightly as the nobles ran screaming and Byakuya flash stepped to her side with a frown.
"Shit we came too late".
Flash stepping in front of Byakuya and Katsumi were Shinji, Kensei, Rose, and Mashiro as Shinji frowned. "Like father like daughter alright", he said.
"Indeed though the mask is slightly different from Ichigo's", Rose remarked.
"Shinji Hirako what is the meaning of this? What has happened to Night"? Byakuya demanded.
Shinji turned his head to look at Katsumi and Byakuya before looking at 'Night'. "It should be obvious Kuchiki after all Night is Ichigo's kid it's no surprise she'd become a Visored too".
