Kanda, Rinali, and Lavi all stared at Allen.

Allen had refused to partake in the few meals the others had offered him. He was suspicious of any generousity other were willing to show. It was usually a way to make others indebted to them or they would poison the food to take whatever the other had without attracting the foul creatures that were lurking.

No Allen didn't trust them. Better to starve than be poisoned.

"Woah?! What in blazes was that?" Lavi was astounded that such a little wolf could produce such a sound. No living creature should be that loud.

"Hey, Kanda haven't you been feeding him." Lavi looked at the stout Alpha standing next to him. "I thought you were better than that."

Instead of Kanda answering it was Rinali's voice that pulled his attention, "Don't blame him Lavi. The boy won't eat anything we give him."

"Che. 'Course not," Kanda glowered. "He's not a freaking idiot to take food from people he barely knows." Kanda hated that the boy probably had to learn that the hard way. As a lone wolf he would have to fend for himself and be wary of all others. No matter how friendly one seemed, especially if they were friendly, they were dangerous. Kanda hated that someone so young had to live such a life.

Well no longer. Kanda was going to rectify that even if he was on edge with another wolf within in his territory.

"Really? But you all would never poison food. I mean, maybe, Kanda would but Rinali would never do such a thing. Food is too precious to waste."

"And how would he know that, Lavi? He's only been with us for a few days." Rinali pitied her friend and packmate for his lack of thinking things through at times like these.

"And Kanda's not going to let him out of his sight incase he decides to make a run for it."

"So I guess letting him hunt his own meal is out of the question, right?" Lavi sighed. "Okay... So what are we going to do so that he doesn't starve to death before we get back to the base? All of ht e places between here and there are picked clean and it's going to take nearly a week of traveling to get back anyway. There's no way he'll survive that long if he's already been several days withut food."

Kanda waas getting a headache from listening to the stupid rabbit jabber away. "SHUT! UP!"

Lavi looked at Kanda, "But-t..."

"Listen." The glare effecively shut Lavi up finally. "With you around to help watch the runt he can hunt his own food. One of us just has to keep an eye on him; while Rinali keeps an eye on Tim."

The entire time they had been talking Allen had slowly been backing away trying not to be noticed. Though embarrassed when his stomache growled he knew when the trio were destracted over the matter he'd be able to get away.

SLowly, slowly, slowly. NOW. Allen turned and bolted.
