Hello everyone! Welcome back!
Will everything be able to be sorted out well enough to prevent White Blaze and the Whiteclaw Gato from becoming enemies? We'll just have to see.
Like usual, I own nothing but my OCs.
Here's chapter 10!

Chapter 10: Black Cat
White Blaze and Wilfre were still at a standoff, and Roselyynn, Thunder and Penelope were starting to worry that this situation was going to go into a fight. Blaze started moving forward, like she was getting ready to attack, only for Maelynn to step in and attempt to mediate the situation.
"Now, now, Chieftess White Blaze. I understand that you are upset by his presence, which is understandable, seeing how he has shamed the Creator and is an unholy being," Maelynn began, causing Wilfre to raise an eyebrow at the fact the Renard Mayor was directly insulting him when he was right there. "However, I think it's important that he helps us in this situation."
"Why?" White Blaze began to protest. "I don't see the point of us allying if you're going to have someone like him on your-" The Gato chieftess was immediately interrupted when there was a shake, a rumble and a boom. White Blaze's ears twitched, and she looked panicked.
Maelynn looked worried as White Blaze suddenly rushed out of the tent, leaving everyone else there. "I'm certain that what just happened isn't a good sign of what is to come." She indicated worriedly, before heading out. Rikki and Aurora followed, and left Wilfre, Roselyynn, Thunder and Penelope behind.
Wilfre sighed and crossed his arms, and even though it wasn't a good time, Penelope decided to ask why he was currently working with Roselyynn and Thunder. It appeared like it when they came in.
"So… why are you three working together? As you are mortal enemies, it seems particular." Penelope calmly stated. Roselyynn and Thunder gave Penelope this weird look for her wording. She seemed to be implying that she wasn't enemies with Wilfre, which seemed especially odd.
Penelope WAS the original hero in this situation after all. Wilfre was her enemy too, right?
Roselyynn and Thunder looked at each other and then suspiciously at Penelope. "…Isn't he also your enemy though?" Roselyynn asked. Penelope was going to avoid the question nonetheless, but she didn't need to say another word with a more violent shake that came closer by.
Wilfre crossed his arms. "So, it seems that there's a lot of commotion going on outside. We could either stay in here and die or go out there in check. Personally, I don't care what happens to any of you, and I also don't want to nearly die again, so I'm leaving."
"You do that!" Roselyynn spat after him with another violent rumble. Thunder looked unsettled and decided that now wasn't time for chatter. They could hear commotion going on outside of the tent. Without much else being said, the three heroes left the tank.
And wow.
Everything was quite a mess when they came out of the tent. For one thing, the heroes witnessed clan warfare between the Whiteclaws and the Blackpaws. The Blackpaws seemed to have more advanced technology in comparison to the Whiteclaws (they had more primitive and tribal weaponry), and this difference seemed to be wrecking them.
It was difficult to try and help anyone now. They needed to find White Blaze!
Penelope, Roselyynn and Thunder looked around, trying to figure out where she went. They found her when she was thrown back and knocked Roselyynn over.
White Blaze seemed weakened, but still determined. She bore her teeth at the thing that had thrown her back.
And from there, the heroes learned that it was possible for the Gato to have mechs. Within a large, bulky robot, there was a Gato piloting it. As she was the only one with a mech, they assumed she was the leader. She had short, black hair and black fur; sharp green eyes; and a dark grey cloak from what they could see, as most of her body was concealed by the mech.
"You really ARE stupid, aren't you, White Blaze? You honestly can't expect yourself to rip apart a robot with an enchanted spear. I'd prefer if you submit and allow me to rip apart your tribe." Spoke the Gato in the mech. White Blaze only appeared to be furtherly riled up by this statement.
"We had a truce, Raven Feather!" roared White Blaze. "The truce was supposed to end the long line of warfare between our two tribes! It went well, until you suddenly vanished and broke the truce by bringing the Raposa into our affairs! You even allied with one, and now look at what's happening!"
"Don't call me that name! I am no longer Raven Feather." snapped back the leader of the Blackpaw Tribe. "You will refer to me as Black Cat."
Penelope snickered at that name. It almost sounded as stupid and simplistic as White Tuxedo. Oh wait… Wait, she remembered that name. Black Cat was the one who had first landed the attacks onto Watersong. The one with the overly-simple and stupidly-simple name. Penelope was surprised to see her in person.
And now, she could finally comment to her face about her 'villain' name. "Oh. You're Black Cat, huh? You picked out a greaaat name." Penelope stated sarcastically. "To be frank, I prefer Raven Feather. It sounds nicer."
Raven Feather, or preferably, Black Cat, rolled her eyes at Penelope. However, she stiffened a moment upon recognizing them as the Creator's three heroes.
However, Black Cat didn't seem to show much of a care upon analyzing them. She only seemed to scoff. "Hmph. It's the heroes who abandoned the holy village. How funny that you're here." She waved her paw towards White Blaze, who Roselyynn was now helping up. "Do you intend to help her? That helpless kitten who thinks she can simply come up and fight me? You're making a stupid mistake."
Maelynn, Rikki and Aurora stepped in about now, all armed. Maelynn clutched the Book of Truth in her arms, as she kept her Rapier in hand. "I'd beg to differ. I think you're the one making a stupid mistake, noting the current situation you've put upon Watersong. Don't you realize what you're causing?"
Black Cat rolled her eyes, reactivating her mech. Penelope, Roselyynn and Thunder drew their weapons, and White Blaze immediately straightened herself up, aiming her spear at the mech and focusing. She ran her hand along the tip of her spear, and it engulfed in flame.
It seemed that they were getting into a fight now, and Black Cat appeared to be outnumbered in this situation. The only issue now was the fact that Wilfre appeared to have vanished and wasn't anywhere in sight. Penelope could still strongly sense his presence around them, but she didn't know where he happened to be.
When the fight sparked, White Blaze was the first to move. She swiftly headed towards Black Cat and her mech, hopping on the arm and increasing the heat of the flame upon her Phoenix-Feather Spear. She got it hot enough to where she landed the first strike and put a hard, heavy dent with the intensity of the heat created by the flaming tip. She tried to thrust at Black Cat too while she was at it, but Black Cat put a glass-domed shield around her to protect herself from danger and activated small, homing missiles to fight White Blaze off her mech's arm.
It was almost like White Blaze was giving a tutorial as to what they were supposed to be doing. She seemed to guide the missiles to the strongest part of the heavy armor around the mech to force it to sustain damage.
Around that time, Maelynn, Rikki and Aurora took initiative. Maelynn wasn't intending to use her rapier much unless she was going to block projectiles. Instead, she intended to (somehow) use the Book of Truth to help her take damage on the mech. Strong beams of light came down from the sky at the mech with her prayer, while Rikki and Aurora were handing the parts of the mech that White Blaze lured the homing missiles to damage it.
If this were the situation that Roselyynn, Thunder and Penelope were used to handling, this battle would've been over by now. Or not, but it would easily be a quarter of a way through depending on the length of the battle (some of the longest examples in the recent memory of the heroes would be Deadwood or the Giant Robosa. That weird Shadow Boss from Shadow City probably would've counted as well as that was in phases).
However, it was quickly found that there was far more to the fight than this. Black Cat did not intend to make herself an easy foe. She especially didn't allow herself to be easily taken down by Raposa or White Blaze. With a swing of the mech's arm, she made contact with White Blaze's significantly smaller body and easily knocked her to the side. She intended to take down Maelynn, Rikki and Aurora next, only for Maelynn to motion the other two Raposa over and then prayed, creating a holy barrier.
Roselyynn, Penelope and Thunder were the only ones who hadn't received huge amounts of bodily damage, and Wilfre was still nowhere to be seen. Black Cat seemed to be focusing on them now, and proceeded to fire missiles at them. The three creation heroes proceeded to dodge the attacks.
"Roselyynn, Thunder, take the legs! I'll handle the head!" Penelope ordered.
The two nodded and went for it. Penelope gracefully headed up the mech's arm and startled Black Cat with a twirl of her Slinger, and Penelope tried to break the glass. It didn't work very well. However, Penelope was taken off guard with a sudden burst of shadow by Black Cat.
The Gato's fur stuck up as well as her tail. "Heh. For a mighty warrior such as yourself, I most certainly didn't expect to startle you so easily." Mocked Wilfre, who somehow got into the protective barrier in Black Cat's mech. There wasn't much room for the two of them in the space, but it didn't matter, as Black Cat was unsettled.
She was at a loss for words. A grin appeared on the shadow Raposa's face. "What? Cat got your tongue, Miss Raven Feather?"
Black Cat's green eyes gave Wilfre an icy cold glare. It didn't faze him much, but he could tell that the kitty wasn't pleased. Her claws came out from her paws, and she proceeded to attack Wilfre. "GET OUT OF MY MECH, YOU UNHOLY SON OF A-"
Wilfre seemed to be purposely screwing with Black Cat's head in order to get a reaction from her. And it was working in his favor gloriously well. As he was distracting her, it opened her mech up to getting damaged further by Roselyynn and Thunder.
White Blaze got up from her unconsciousness, and though her delicate, cat-like body was weak, the Gato Chieftess could care less about her condition right now. Her pale blue eyes were impatient—even angry with Black Cat. Her spear alit with fire again, and she charged, working on damaging the mech alongside Roselyynn and Thunder. Penelope was having issues with cracking the glass with her Slinger.
It was evident that it was made of tough glass. Penelope was unsure how she was supposed to break it. She stared at the glass, analyzing it and knocking on it. The rabbit felt her blood freeze when Black Cat shook the mech, and was trying to get Roselyynn, Thunder and White Blaze off of her. At the same time, the cat was trying to get Wilfre out of her control area.
He was quick and agile, despite being a confined space. Black Cat was getting angrier and angrier by the minute. Wilfre kept moving away from her claws. Her mech was the only weapon she had other than her natural weapons right now. As Wilfre had been causing her more and more trouble, Black Cat lost her temper out of frustration. She lunged at him, her claws fully extended and ready to scratch Wilfre. He let out an eerie laugh, teleporting away out of the mech's control center and confusing her.
Wilfre had led her into an easy trap, which Black Cat realized upon pressing the button that took down her shields (including the glass barrier). Black Cat tried to catch her breath, only to be struck with Penelope's slinger and knocked out of her mech when Penelope used the Hurricane attack. Black Cat was stunned for a moment, and it gave Roselyynn, Penelope and Thunder an opportunity. They focused on breaking the mech.
White Blaze, on the other hand, was pissed when she saw Black Cat out of her mech. She pointed her spear down at her rival, her blue eyes with a predatory gleam in them. Black Cat's ears and tail stuck up in alarm. As White Blaze thrusted her spear, Black Cat dodge-rolled to the side and went on all fours a moment. Then, she went into combat with White Blaze, showing no mercy with her claws, and her punches and the pounding pain of her attacks.
White Blaze tried to defend herself, only for Black Cat to knock her phoenix-feather spear out of her hand. Going over to it and putting pressure upon it, the Blackpaw Leader looked as if she was going to snap her spear like a twig. White Blaze's fur stood on end, and she freaked (noting that it was tradition for Gato to craft their weapons themselves, and White Blaze's phoenix-feather spear was her signature weapon. She didn't have a backup to that spear, and it would be nigh impossible to recreate it if it were broken).
Blaze snapped in that instant, and lost her self-control for an instant. However, an instant was all she needed.
With a hissing roar, the Whiteclaw Chieftess's demeanor shifted as she lunged at Black Cat, pinning her to the ground and her claws coming out of her paw. As the heroes destroyed the mech, White Blaze quickly scratched her right paw's claws across Black Cat's face, leaving a stinging and painful wound.
Black Cat threw White Blaze off of her in retaliation covering up her wounded face. She let out an angry hiss at White Blaze and the heroes. "You… I'll make sure you regret this, White Blaze! Even if all of Watersong has to be reduced to rubble in order to kill you!"
Immediately after, she called her allies back, and with a burst of dark grey smoke, they had vanished to wherever. There was a slight trembling of the ground, but that wasn't the concern right now.
White Blaze was shaking, staring at her claws. She was able to clean them off best as she could and then retracted them and took a deep breath. Maelynn looked concerned as she removed the holy barrier and had the team regroup.
They felt another trembling, and Maelynn frowned. "This doesn't feel right. But… I'm more concerned of what Black Cat could do. She's one of White Tuxedo's finest warriors. I could've sworn she was going easy on us until she was thrown out of her mech and made contact with Chieftess White Blaze."
There was a stronger trembling, and Roselyynn and Thunder began to understand the familiarity of it. Roselyynn glared back at Wilfre, appearing suspicious. "…Wilfre? Did you bring Bakibeard back to plague Watersong?" She growled, her lilac eyes flashing. Wilfre blinked boredly at her as a start to his response.
"I've been in hiding." Wilfre answered bluntly. "Right now, I have no interest to erase the Creator or her creations. Doing so would be foolish on my part, seeing the state of the world right now. I would only be making a stupid move if I decided to act as an enemy at this time."
"…Why in the hell is it shaking then, you son of a-" Roselyynn began, ready to curse as she was ready to go and smack Wilfre. Thunder held her back, and didn't have as much of a struggle as he could have.
"Roselyynn, not now! If Bakibeard's ghost truly is back, Watersong is going to have an even greater problem." Thunder indicated, and Roselyynn let out a sigh of exasperation.
Penelope had a problem though.
If this WERE Bakibeard, how was his ghost suddenly brought back?
There was no way this could've been something that was spontaneously created. It seemed that this was deliberate—like someone had planned this in case of the worst.
And knowing the state that Watersong was currently in, it couldn't be good.
-o-o-o-o-
This was kind of short. Still, we're starting to wrap up Watersong from this point. In the next chapter, it will most likely be the end of Watersong. I don't mean like Watersong will be DESTROYED, however. The heroes won't let that happen.
However, finding Bakibeard isn't the least of their problems. Dealing with him is.
Other than that, I don't have very much to say. With this story, I've been writing out more chapters and have them stockpiled, but I can't be certain that they'll be coming out quickly. Around the time of writing this and some of my other stories, school had been particularly ruthless. I think that I'll be able to post chapters in a fairly timely manner for this, but I'd have to edit and finish them first.
That's all I really must say in terms of the story's progress. Like usual, please review if you'd like, please try and refrain from flaming, and please tell me how I can improve.
Until then, I will see you all in the next chapter.
Ciao!
